SuperCoach GOLD

Written by Duck on February 6 2011

So i’m having a look at my SuperCoach Team when i see this tab that says “SuperCoach PRO”

Reading on a little further it goes on to say “SuperCoach Gold is the ultimate statistical data, tools and analysis package, providing player stat analysis, price, break-even & scoring projections! All of the player info, exclusive content, research and analysis you’ll ever need to play SuperCoach is in the one place and conveniently integrated right within the game and your team!”

This is where things are going to get a bit tricky. Before SuperCoach PRO the playing field was pretty even, no-one paid anything and it was a matter of researching your own team using the sites and information available to us all. Now, with the introduction of a paid service, us coaches face the dilema to pay or not to pay?

It’s not going to break the bank …. it’s $20 to $25 for a yearly subscription depending on when you sign up, or you can go month by month for $4.95. There’s currently an option to do a free 14 day trial, which i’m sure many of you will do.

Has anyone signed up for it yet, either the trial of the paid version?  If so, let us know what you think of it and how it rates to the rest of the information on sites like Fan Footy or Footy Wire which is all F.R.E.E.

  1. We could all be scabs and alternate between free trials and share all the inside information on the site…..
But it is a money grab, other sites will have the same information for free.

  2. I signed up for the trial and it is really nothing special. They have some interesting articles that aren’t for public view, but as above, it’s nothing you don’t get from the our discussions. Really, it is a bloke like you and I who is getting paid to write down he’s thoughts. There isn’t a lot more it really offers – Trade Wizard is for bums who don’t know the game, the Past Stats section only holds historical player information which is largely irrelevant, then there is something called Analyser. I estimates individual player outputs over the entire season to give you an overall estimate of your score. It is giving me an estimate of round one of 1,120 points.

  3. P.S. I’m sure we’ll get an undercover Herald Sun employee spreading some propaganda shortly. Watch this space… Yes, agree, money grab.

  4. Good topic Duck as was interested to know everyones thoughts as I don’t want to be left behind in the information stakes. So from what I can read here it all looks pretty pointless for the seasoned coach.

  5. The predictor is simply that. A prediction of your score either for first round or season. Unless it was made by someone who can see into the future it is in no way accurate and a waste of money. How the hell does a computer program know the future? Do the free trial for shits and giggles but dont waste your money.

  6. The only thing that makes me want to pony up the crayfish is the draft-style comps. Being an NFL fantasy tragic, this will be a huuuuuge to SC and make you really dig for the little gold nugget players (a la relton roberts).

  7. FF Genie…. free, and its the key to all analysis needed.. hearldsun= Paying someone else to think for you..Just like last year when everyone just ends up having 95% same players..its a joke…They should stop putting so many articles in the paper and telling people who to pick. Real players do all their own research before the season and come up with a great team, only for the herald sun to ruin it for them by telling people who to pick the eve before the season..Rant Over..
In Conclusion, if you are an absolute muppet, then yes pay for the Heraldsun RPO….If you have an ounce of intelligence and can think for yourself..don’t
