Swallow or Harris for M6

Written by Motts on March 31 2011

You’ve got one onfield spot left and both D Swallow and Harris jostling on the bench for it. Who do you give it to?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Thats a tough one! Have gone with Swallow but not sure why…

Any other GCS players that people thought would be playing that aren’t? Glad I went Stanley over Toy or Coad. Mine are all named on the ground except for J Tippett. (who im not expecting games from)

Swallow, Harris, Stanley, Smith and Matera. Guess most people will have the same!

  2. Choice for Defender 6 & 7 between:
Lower, Heppell, Duigan, Otten and Toy

    Choice for Midfielder 6 between:
    Libba, Harris, Bewick

    Choice for Forward 6 & 7 between:
Richardson, Tapscott, Prestia, Matera and Darling

I could also move deledio into the mid field and have no rookies there and play Heppell and stanley in the backline

  4. Harris for mine. Won’t be as daunted so I think he’ll get more of the ball plus will definitely tackle more.

I’m pretty tempted to give Libba a crack this week too after a more than solid game last week and coming up against the teddy bears.

  5. Bit confused mate. Why haven’t you mentioned Stanley in the backs but then you’re going to bring him in if you rotate Lids?

    What are you’re two lines?

  6. WIll do the smart thing and go with the bloke that has AFL experience and scored 100+ in all but 3(?) games in the VFL last year.

I’m happy to wear a lower score from Harris this week, just to see where Swallow is at.

And just a side note – Heppell will be awesomely stiff this week not to retain his spot at M6! If he scores well again this week he might be ahead of Swallow in the queue.

  9. Aaargh way to many decicions this week, finally decided to give swan the big c over Judd or Gibbs. Now I gotta decide on which three out of lower, duigan, heppal, libatore, swallow and Harris play. ATM gonna go with lower and heppal in the back but stuck in the midfield!
    Thumbs up libatore
    Thumbs down swallow

  10. Yeah I have too many players to choose from:

Back: Two positions out of Lower, Duigan, Otten, Toy and Stanley

Mids: Two positions out of Heppell, Swallow, Irons, Bewick and Harris

Forwards: Two positions out of Petrie, Richardson, Darling, Matera and Prestia

    HELP! 🙂

  11. A lot of people are going through the same thought process I reckon…

Backs – 1 out of Stanley, Duigan, Toy
    (think I’m going Stanley)
Mids – 1 out of Heppell, Harris, Swallow and Liberatore
    (think I’ll stick with Heppell)
Fwds – 2 out of Darling, Richardson, Matera, Prestia
(think I’ll go with Darling and Matera)

  12. Currently got Swallow to play, Harris as Emergency, Lil Libba on the pine (Harris to play if J.Selwood out this week)
Tapscott, Krakour & Gamble to play, Richardson as Emergency, Darling on pine.

Maybe it’s me being a Saints fan, but i reckon Gamble could score ok this week (even though last week not a single tackle seemed to stick!)

Good call / Bad Call (Carro!). Any comments appreciated.

  14. Had a change of heart & looking at harder bodied Harris in mids (Swallow as Emerg) & Darling to play, (Richardson as Emerg) with Lil Libba & Gamble warming benches. Any thoughts?

If anyone has news on whether Joel Selwood makes the plane trip west this arvo would be much appreciated. Would’nt be surprised if they scratch him, with the only blessing being making the Swallow / Harris question that bit easier!

  15. Have both Harris & Swallow on the field at the moment … covering for Selwood. I’m assuming he WON’T play, but might change that later today if more news comes out. If I do bring him on, it would be at the expense of Harris (can’t go past Swallow).

  16. Need a bit of advice on the final spot in my forward line – The choice is between Prestia, Matera, Richardson or Tapscott, thoughts please?

  17. Correct, Selwood has been ruled out. Worth looking at AFL.com.au as I think Mooney & Lonogan also out. Geelong have brought 3 youngish ones in to replace them.

  19. danno , leon is a slight chance ..pulled out of round 1 due to a slight injury not sure what it was ,could be a risk danno ..libber played well last week so he would be my emergency while your got harris making his 200 th game and swallow raking in the numbers..

  20. yea before i posted that had harris and swallow on the ground so was good to hear someone was looking at it the same as me 😛 and with leon i took him for the pre season he had racking up the touches and using the ball at half back n i cant see any of my other forwards pulling out so might leave him in and name richardson my emg. richardson over gamble you reckon pal?

  21. My dilemma exactly. Have gone with Harris – milestone games tend to bring out the best in that player. Plus, he’s waited what 2 years to play it?! I could’ve put Shiels on the bence and brought Swallow in, but there are too many uncertainties with GC and I’d rather play it safe.
But having said that, I’m taking a gamble with Gamble and leaving Richardson on the bench. He has one more week to prove his flop last week isn’t going to be his normal return.

  22. I got rid of Gamble (and Selwood) this week. Had to be done, no point waiting, if I’m going to fail at least it will be on my terms.

  23. Yeah, thanks a lot. Results were very misleading. Went with Swallow instead of Harris. In my dream last night it was Harris tagging Judd.
    Cost = 39 points!!!
