Swan v Pendlebury

Written by Motts on March 8 2011

Our third intraclub midfield match-up this week. People are obviously putting spots aside for players from certain teams – good SC strategy this year. Right now, who would you pick out of these two?

How many will you field in R15?

  1. By round 14 or 15 I’ll have them both but choosing the difference is tough I want swan for captaincy but I think pendlebury will jump in price damn byes

  2. I currently have both of them. Even though I despise the pies both of these players are champions of the game and of supercoach.

Here is my team thus far, please help me out and tear it to shreds. I have taken the guns rookies strategy. Applying most of the guns to the midfield as thats where the big points are to be had.

B: Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Grimes, Adcock, Otten, Heppell
    (Stanley, Toy, Duigan)

M: Swan, Judd, Pendlebury, Bartel, Kennedy, Swallow
    (Mzungu, Harris, Hibberd)

    R: Cox, Jolly
    (Derickx, Smith)

F: N. Riewoldt, Rioili, Goodes, Higgins, Knights, Krakouer, Prestia
    (Matera, Richardson, Michie)

  3. is it possible to do a thread on how many dpp’s people have in each def, mid and forward section ect. or something like that?

for example i have gods, gibbs and lids in back line at the minute, who can only swap with heppell in mid if needs. should i re-work the team so i have two dpps in both def and mid, for example: lids and gibbs in backline and gods and heppell in mid? therefore i have more flexibility i guess. just not sure if this a good move not having gods in backline..

hope this makes sense just need some opinions, as it causing sleepless nights!

    p.s. pendlebury for me

  4. Let’s leave the poll creation to MOTTS, DUCK and THE BIG SEXY (yes, i added a ‘the’ at the start BS .. sounds more emphatic does The Big Sexy).

While many hands do make light work please remember that too many cooks spoil the broth.

  5. I originally had Swan in my team but based on price and NAB cup form I believe Pendles is a better buy.

Will push to have them both by end of year and believe that swan will go down in price, so that’s when I will pounce;)

Also taking in the fact that the above I believe will happen and banking on a couple of good rookies rising should be a position mid year to add a couple of more premiums to the field. With buys also should be able to cover to put them on the bench.

  6. I’m wondering if Swan’ performances will be affected by the new substitute/interchange rule. He’s been the most rotated player in the league for the past couple of years so if he is less rotated will he be as effective?
