Table for Two – Rd12

Written by Thommo on June 7 2018

Lunch time on Thursday……..time for a Table For Two! Following on our popular 2UP thread from the pre-season, Table For Two helps you with those tough choices that you’ve been contemplating all week.

Should we trade Robbie Gray in? Which rookies are the best to bring in this week? Having trouble selecting between two premiums? Have a Captaincy quandry? Whatever the question, our SCT Coaches are here to help. Enter your players names into the Comments below and the SCT Coaches will guide you with the Thumbs UP/DOWN function. Good luck on the weekend, Coaches!

      1. Be looking to get Gray provided he can play more mid time (e.g rocky gets injured), also once he bottoms out & BE is lower

        1. Yeah definitely not getting him until Rocky gets injured, last game he spent something like 96% time up forward.

    1. Appreciate the thumbs coaches, but team selection has dictated terms it seems. C U Next Tuesday Billings…

  1. Assuming that Laird, cogs, Dusty and Fyfe are all out I am left with only 18 on field including; Austin, Ridley, Murphy, Spargo, T.Smith, Phillips and ZGL who I was not planning on fielding many of. Do I

TU: Dusty> Phillips/Oliver which will leave me with 19 for R13
TD: Hold and hope he plays next week and picks up his form

    1. He won’t play next week according to a mate of his. I’m still holding him tho’. We were right, he has a real sore calf and will be back firing after the byes apparently. Trade him out, you’ll have to trade him back in that’s all!

    1. I penciled Crouch in at the start of the season but his injuries have caused me to look at alternatives. For around that price, I am thinking of Menegola and swinging him forward later.

  2. Just make the one trade of Austin in for Dahlhaus T/U

Make 3 and Grab 2 forward premiums this week T/D

  3. I am thinking of upgrading Brayshaw or Fogarty (both have rd14 bye), but to who?

    Up – Menegola (fallen premium)
    Dn – Mundy (consistent veteran)

    1. I can’t see the Saints playing all 3. From Richo’s comments, his preference is N.Brown & Carlisle.
Trading in Austin may help others through the selection carnage this week, but it’s a no from me. I can’t justify the trade (Murphy-Austin $208k-$159k) on a R14 bye player that may have only one price rise with Carlisle back next week. I’ll hold Murphy and trade down to Mihocek after his R13 bye. Mihocek may not play R14 (I have cover), but I need the cash for my other R14 trades. I reckon he will get further games this season given Reid’s injury history. Will sit as my D8 & defence loop option.

  4. This week has caused carnage for all so i need to bring in a RD 14 player and there seems very little to choose from.
Walters and Franklin aren’t too bad but Walters is very injury prone and i don’t think Buddy is up to full fitness and key forwards are always concerning. Leaves me little choice but to pick a midfielder.

    TU Crouch
    TD Duncan

  5. Only going for wins within my league, and I am playing a spud this round with a guaranteed win for me (I only have 15 available if I don’t make any trades)…so…

TU – put some effort in, make some trades
TD – take the win, save the trades

  6. can only make one downgrade in defence at the moment which is lachlan murphy, so do i choose…

T/U: logan austin, good first two rounds this year and guaranteed to rise a bit in price but could resort to his port adelaide average and two good rounds doesnt guarantee a third or therefore a spot in the team (think tim smith) and also $57,000 more than…
T/D: mihocek, first gamer and scored well, may not keep scoring this well and unlikely to kick 4 every week but you know you already have $57,000 more left in your bank than you would picking austin. can give it one more week for a look and if no good than will have to wait for another decent defender rookie.

guess it comes down to job security and how much they are likely to make money on top of what you initially spend. would love the option to get both if mihocek does well again next week but have either premos or rookies with a very low breakeven and not ready to trade except for murphy.
