  1. Cogs replacement down to 2 contenders:

    TU: merret
    TD: Sloane

Can’t afford anyone higher than Sloane but if a better option I haven’t considered comment below. Cheers team

    1. Seriously considering ed curnow. Moved into the mid under Teague and avg 110 since then. I still have 7 trades so the extra cash (90k bank after trade) can be used to swap bcrouch to Jkelly when he returns. In short thinking a great POD for league finals

      Am I mad?
TU: the good kind of madness
      Td: the very bad kind

    1. Both can average 110-115 but JPK will be more consistently in the 100-120. Yeo will score a 150 but can throw a 70 in there also which could cost you match ups in leagues

Both are PODs so I may lean towards JPK because of that consistency but close, helps that helps

  2. Thanks coaches.
Which combination will score best for remainder of season (assuming all play)

    T/U Caleb Daniel & one of Whitfield/Hurn
T/D Rowan Marshall & one of Tom Stewart/Luke Ryan

    1. That’s a tight one… I’d go Marshall & Stewart. Both been super consistent this season and durable (touch wood).

    1. Also tossing up this one. I’d say Whitfield but it’s close. And Crisp is just so reliable to get up every week!

    1. Stones. The big four of Sticky Fingers, Exile, Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed is the best run of albums ever!

Beatles wreck every album that could be perfect by having a stupid novelty song on it that I hate!
Octopuses Garden, Yellow Submarine, oobladee oobladee, etc.

There. I’m showing my age as well!

      1. No right answer of course, but I reckon the Beatles had greater diversity, and three (sorry ringo) that could take the lead vocal on most of their songs.

  3. I’ve got 6 trades left but still have to upgrade to premium defender and midfielder, but I’m thinking Lycett to Dunkley is just to good to pass up.
    Worth the trade?

    1. I’m surprised by the result so far. I’m tipping people see some heat coming for Dunkley?

      1. Depends on your cash and ability to generate cash – but upgrade your positions to premo FIRST before luxury sideways / upgrading – that would be why the TD

          1. Cheers for the replies folks – it’s fairly conclusive.
Only thing I maybe should have added is that I’m playing to win a league and not overall score, which may make a difference in some people’s eyes? Plan was to hit full premo (the very best full premo’s) in the first round of finals.
That being said – probably best to fill the gaps first and accept I may have missed Dunkley.
            Cheers.

            1. nah mate – that does change things a bit – yes, you need to make sure you cover off your opponents as much as possible and have PODs where you can – if your opps all have Dunks, then you do need to get him as best as you can … a balancing act … good luck!!

            2. Don’t think trading Lycett is worthwhile due to his ceiling, dual position eligibility and current performance.

If possible could you post your team to see if we can find other avenues to Dunkley?

              3

  4. Full premo with 4 trades and cover in all lines but need to replace Cogs

TU: Cogs to Sloane with 5k left and 3 trades
TD: Swing Danger to mid. Chol to Hill and Cogs to R.Marshall. 30k left and 2 trades

    12

    5
  5. 3 trades left $66k in the bank.
Is it worth going Cogs to Neale or Cripps and leave no bank or get Merrett and keep about 100k in the bank for the last 5 weeks and potential upgrades, I have Hawkins at D6.
    T/U – Best Player – Neale/ Cripps
    T/D – Cheap Option – Merret

  6. Before team announcements Logue to Lloyd, now that he has gained a reprieve do I reverse trade and utilise Answerth instead.Whoever I keep will be emergency for rest of the season.
    TU – Logue – Lloyd
    TD -Answerth – Lloyd

    Thank You.

    5

    8
    1. Hmm. Seeing though you can afford Lloyd either way, maybe keep Answerth? Logue is the better scorer, but Answerth’s JS is really solid. Serves your purpose as bench cover better, CT.

  7. Asked the below last night in trade talk – no responses … whilst not a chloice of two, all help / comments greatly appreciated!!

So learned community – having completely missed my trading window last week (and forgetting that to move out ROB I had to move Bines on the Friday night!! – I was ‘doing the right thing’, waiting for the players to be named in their matches – DUH!!) , could I get some thoughts on the best possible trade options please:
Basically I’m looking at ROB and Logue out and my options are:
    Whitfield and Mundy
    Mundy and Stewart
    Ryan and Heeney

what does everyone think is the best / strongest / safest option of these three and why?

I will be left with Smith and D7 with one of those defenders as D6
Mundy or Heeney swinging between M and F with Setters …

    Thanks in advance!!

    1

    0
      1. I gave it last night Adam – but the bench / cash etc is irrelevant to the choice – the above are the best three options that I can make … I’m not sure which is the best one – ie
is Whitfield a risk of injury and thus Stewart more stable?
Same goes for Heeney – whilst Mundy has dropped off, Heeney is still carrying the ankle and playing forward too much …
Is Ryan better than Stewart – he has dropped off as well of late? etc etc …

        1

        3
        1. But it is relevant to include your bench and remaining salary to help assess your cover to identify any weak spots as well as helping to potentially recommend future trades.

          2

          2
          1. no, its not …as I said last night and again tonight … I have already looked at all of that … these are the best options … its not that hard to understand … when say something three or 4 times you should understand that?? It is no different to other posts here with people asking T/U or T/D

            1

            4
            1. Upon reviewing your entire line-up an option for this week could be:
              Out: J Hately, R O’Brien
In: I Hill, D Mundy (via P Bines)

Allows you to use D Mundy to cover 1 of J Kelly or N Fyfe and allows W Setterfield/D Clarke to cover the other whilst opening up a fwd/mid link.

With Logue returning you can hold him for this round and use the 220,000 from the above trades plus whatever you have remaining to grab Whitfield if funds permit next week. This pushes B Smith to D7 to be looped with Sicily.

You will then be left with 3 trades and Mundy occupying M8. With a mid bench of Clarke, Setterfield and Bewley this provides sufficient cover for N Fyfe and J Kelly as well as providing the opportunity to turn 1 of the bench players via a downgrade to either a fwd such as T Hawkins/C Wingard/S Menegola via I Hill to occupy F7 or a premium mid around 500,000.

              3

              0
              1. nope – don’t have those trades – it is a choice out of the three I listed … i have no other options …

                1

                2
                1. Logue returned so the move to a def such as Whitfield or Stewart can be held till next week as you have no on-field defenders missing. This allows Whitfield to drop another round due to his breakeven and you to further ponder the preferred defender.

                  3

                  0
                  1. Adam – see my comments below to Kovanator – as I have said repeatedly – these moves have to be made this week, these are the BEST three choices I have – no others – ROB will lose far too much cash – I missed him last week (as my post says) and my options from last week to this have been further reduced due to the cash he lost …

My frustration is that I have simply asked for comments / thoughts on which of the three options I have listed in considered “best / safest / strongest …”…. and reason why …

My thoughts are that Stewart is probably the “safest most consistent” choice of the defenders (eliminating risk of injury to Whitfield etc) … if I choose him, then it eliminates Heeney and places me with Mundy … and so on …

                    1

                    3
              1. I’m not being rude … I wen through this several times last night and again tonight … I cannot be clearer in what I have said and asked … I only have these options … it does not work any other way … I need the cash from ROB this week to make it work … everything else has been considered .. I have said this repeatedly … I have simply asked for comments from people on which of the three options is considered the best … period … no other solutions, choices… etc … it is very clearly spelled out

                2

                7
                  1. thanks Trev – little concerned with Whits likelihood of getting injured (as evidenced last week) – agree that he is a gun, but for the injury possibility (higher than say Stewart in comparison) … Mundy may also be a chance of scoring better without Fyfe as well … but his drop off has been a little alarming – age may be catching him up … it is a very difficult choice to make – just trying to gauge various thoughts I guess … if I hadn’t forgot that Bines had to be moved last week on the Friday night (first game! aaarrrggghh) , I was all set for Heeny and Whitfield … Whits knock / injury last week has me further concerned I guess …

                    0

                    0
                    1. yep – but if he goes down, i then have no other cover – B Smith is more potent as a really good loop with any of the others … I may be convincing myself that Stewart is the “safer” option …

                      1

                      0
    1. I don’t think there’s really a safe option, Mundy has dropped off a cliff & though he ‘ll probably get a bump with Fyfe out how long will that last? Stewart has drop off a little bit as Tuohy has found some form, Heeney is still managed through games & Ryan dropped off last year is an alarmingly similar way to this season…

So not seeing a “safe”, I go the option with the most potential scoring & that’s Whitfield & Mundy (I’d personally go Greene over Mundy, don’t yell at me)

      1. Thanks Dann – great response and what I was looking for / asking. Along the same lines I have been wrestling with as well.
I have dropped the last few years scores into spreadsheets for all the players I have listed – and yes, there is no easily identifiable answer. The main concern for me is that there is minimal risk in losing any of the players I trade in to injuries – they create the back ups on the lines, but then I run on fumes if I lose one – hence the hesitation on Whits I guess – I know AS has said he’s not going neat Whits for that reason – and on that basis, it has me leaning further towards Stewart I guess
Annoyed at myself as last week I had settled on Whits and Heeney and was able to do it but forgot about WCE playing first and couldn’t make the moves – Heeney went up $20k odd and ROB lost $25k so it has limited my options further…. Greene I placed on my never again list … but don’t tempt me especially with him playing more Mids and GWS injuries

        1. Jack Crisp is the safest option to my mind.
After that, maybe look for a POD with what you have left??
So many variables with your chosen options, but I don’t like any of them. I wouldn’t go near Mundy despite the likely ‘bump’ he’ll get with Fyfe out and I wouldn’t be looking at Heeney if I didn’t already have him!
Ryan? No. Whitfield? Awesome but has burned me twice! Stewart already have him, but as I said earlier to you, Tuohy is becoming an increasing issue.

          Good luck mate.

    1. I’m double upgrading this week thanx to Riley O’Brien for a super effort, one of the best I can remember in Supercoach.
      Elliot Yeo..-T/U
      Josh.P.K… – T/D
      Thanx.

      5
      1. My other upgrade is either
        Mitch Duncan – T/U
        Zac Merrett – T/D
        Thanx again all.
Good luck for the rest of the year.

  8. Current mid: Neale, Macrae, Cripps, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Oliver, M crouch, Stack, Setterfield, Bewley, D Clarke. Full premo everywhere else. 7 trades left.

TU: Setterfield to K Dunkley, Stack to Treloar
TD: Stack to Treloar, Fyfe to Merrett/Cunnington/Yeo

    1. You have sufficient cover to keep Fyfe and Setterfield’s DPP should be very important for the remainder of the season so I’d look to keep both. Dependent on cash and if it requires a Bewley downgrade I think Merrett is the best option to replace Stack.

      3

      0
      1. Could keep Fyfe but bench cover is Clarke.
Reckon Curnow/Murphy will feast on GC this week so which one to go to?
Both have low BEs so will make money on the trade and not confident Fyfe will be out only 1-2 weeks.
Was originally planning this week to go Brayshaw and Hayes to Dunkley and rookie, now thinking Brayshaw and Fyfe to Dunkley and Murphy/Curnow.

        3

        1. Current midfield is:
Macrae, Cripps, Neale, JPK, BCrouch, Taranto, Brayshaw, Fyfe (Clarke, Bewley, Hayes)

          0

          1
        2. Clarke as cover for Fyfe will be fine and once Fyfe returns he should be able to compensate for his absence and I assume should be able to outscore his potential replacement.

          4

          1
          1. Yeah. Gotta agree with Adam, Stewy. Would hold Fyfe, will be back next week. If you’re set on trading him though, bring in a sure-thing premo rather than rolling the dice on Curnow or Murphy.

            4

            0
  9. 6 trades left and fuck all money in the bank.

I have no idea what to do with Cogs this week. Current mids are Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Oliver, Cogs, M Crouch, D Clarke. (Setters, Bewley, B Scott).

Was thinking the obvious choice being Bont but I’m not sure about his ankle and could be a late out. Should I avoid the trade? I could bring in Zerrett instead which means that I wouldn’t need to pull a 2nd trade being Scott > Dunkley (if named) or Hill.

Really keen to gauge everybody’s thoughts! Full premo in forward line and holding B Smith at D6. Cheers!

  10. Hi guys,
Current team with 5 trades left.44k in the bank
D.Lloyd Hurn Williams Sicily Crisp Andrews (Logue Answerth)
M.Neale Cripps Macrae Oliver Coniglio Bontempelli Sloane Martin (Duursma McLean Scott)
    R. Grundy ROB (Fort)
    F. Dangerfield Dunkley Kelly Boak Gray Heeney (Young Bines)
Looking for a suitable replacement for Coniglio and need to get Gawn in as well (Next week) For Cogs was tossing up between
    Merrett,Steele or Curnow.
Merrett may not leave enough cash for next week’s trade, but now I come to think of of it Fort to Hill probably will.
    TU Merrett
    TD Steele
    Comment anyone else
    Cheers community.

    3

    1
    1. Or should I swing Danger in to the middle and go for Lobb as cover? Not as sexy as going Duncan but currently 770 and the dream of 50k is gone and probably need to concentrate on the cash league.

      2

      0
  11. TU Zorko. 6k left
    TD Yeo. 36k left
Full premo with Fyfe and three trades after trading.
    Comment on others. Cheers!

  12. For my Cogs replacement with basically no kitty I’m thinking:

    TU – Whitfield
    – opens up Rozee’s DPP and he can help cover fwd/def
    – minimises loss of Hurley while I wait a week or two to trade him out

    TD – JPK
    – think he’s the best of the sub 540K mids.

Comment (another sub 540K from any line).

  13. Current def: Williams, Sicily, Lloyd, Hurn, Smith, Hore (Answerth, Logue)
Looking to downgrade Hore to free up cash to upgrade Answerth/Logue (And possibly Smith if $ can be freed up elsewhere) first week of finals.
    M8: MCrouch F6: Greene
    8 trades, $3k bank.
TU: Hore > Quaynor (Will hopefully hold his spot and provide bench cover)
TD: Hore > Basement price rookie too free up as much $ as possible (Any recommendations?)
    Thanks coaches!

    1

  14. Would you make 2 trades (leaving 2) to upgrade Andrews to one of Laird, Stewart, Crisp, Newman.

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

    2

    5
  15. Chol to Toby Greene?
Greene should get more midfield minutes with cogs and kelly out and a good pod for finals

    3

    0
    1. Toby Greene set to split midfield usage in Round 18

      He’ll probably be 50/50 – Leon Cameron

      1

      0
  16. 8 trades left, 300k in the bank
    – D6 = Smith
    – M8 = Clarke
    – F6 = Moore

TU = Moore —> Dunkley/Marshall + get Whitfield NEXT week
TD = Moore —> fwd <580k (Walters, Billings) + get Hurn/Crisp THIS week
