Table For Two – Rd2

Written by Schwarzwalder on March 29 2018

Lunch time on Thursday, time for a table for two!  In the tradition of Thommo’s 2UP, Table For Two gives you the chance to ask the SCT Coaches their opinion on those tough decisions……..whatever they may be.

If you’re having trouble splitting two players at D6, or choosing between Dusty and Matt Crouch as VC…..whatever your conundrum might be…….enter it into the comments below.  Our Coaches will help you out with the Thumbs UP/DOWN function……..

  1. If you bring in English (next week) do you bring him in as a forward (F6) and take the points or at R3 as injury cover. Easy if you have a ruck/fwd at R3 already but a lot of people (myself included) have Olango at R3.

    TU R3
    TD F6

    1. Bring him in at F6 and hope that you never have to use him as ruck cover. If that time should occur, then offload Olango.

  2. Do I make two trades

    1 – savage to Z Guthrie

    2- Brayshaw to Steven

I’m really keen to get Steven in.

    TU = trade

    TD = don’t trade

    1. Both those trades are terrible ideas. Not sure why you want to trade Savage and Brayshaw anyway. Don’t bother with Steven. Won’t be a top 8 mid.

  3. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I made a hash of the start of the season & somehow left Daniher & Coffield in my team (amongst other balls-ups)
Daniher, I guess I’ll learn to live with, as he’s potentially premo.
However, if Coffield isn’t named this week, I’m thinking of going to either McGrath or Sicily.
    Worth it or not?
    If so,
    T/U – McGrath
    T/D – Sicily

    1. Do you have any doughnuts or any lines with no E/cover?
If not, wait one more week to see if either are named and to make sure nothing unexpected happens with whoever you’re interested in.
Also, do you have all the essential cash cows like Kelly etc?

      1. No doughnuts, but no E cover in def if Coffield & O’Connor don’t play. Got all the main cash cows too, apart from L Murphy & J Stephenson
Also want to be able to do two corrective trades next week if need be.

  4. I believe I need to make a correctional trade this week. Yes I know about rage trades & chasing points, but I think I made a mistake in my selection of Shai Bolton (Richmond, 20 points round 1). Thinking of getting either D. Butler or B. Parfitt, both had much better games & I consider better js. I can afford either one. Will Parfitt be affected by Danger’s return?

    T/U – Butler
    T/D – Parfitt

    Any comments are welcome!

    1. No need to correct this week. I would suggest you Wait one more week and then Downgrade to the best rookie that you don’t already have. Neither Butler or Parfit are likely to be a premo keeper and a rookie is likely to earn more cash faster.

    2. My advice is to wait a week.

Both Butler and Parfitt are small forwards. They will both have very up and down games this season. Neither are likely to make enough cash to be worth the trade.

If you do still want to trade Bolton. Downgrade him to the cheapest rookie with the best job security.

  5. Ryder>Naitanui
    Brayshaw>Cripps

    Or

    Ryder> Martin
    Naughton>Sicily

    TU

    TD

Or just Ryder trade as I don’t have English as backup & wait on the others?

    1. Which Brayshaw do you mean? Angus or Andrew?

Definitely keep Andrew. He’ll be one of the more reliable rookies this year with good JS.

Hold Angus too for now. Mystery why he was left out last week and still expect him to score decently when back. Hopefully this week.

      1. Hi David thanks, 270k was possibly to get Danger in at some stage.
Scored 2394 but liked the look of Cripps & Sicily.
Who do you think I should trade Ryder to?

  6. 10 person league, matches starting this week. Do I…?

TU – Trade Libba to FWD Premo this week to hopefully avoid a loss (using FWD DPP to switch positions)

TD – Hold Libba until next week and see how Sicily/Petracca etc go before trading one in. Probably lose this week due to having too many rookies on the ground.

    1. Do the trade. If you were keen on Sicily or Petracca before Round 1, an extra game is probably not going to give you any more info.

  7. Trade option 1: Naughton for Bonner and Cameron for English
Trade option 2: hold off and see how Cofield and Barry do this week?

Worried that option 2 will leave me short in the price surges come week 4.. Although I’d save on trades

    TU1
    TD2

    1. Wait one more week. Reassess when you have twice as much info as you have now. Anything could happen in Rd2. LDU and DOW might have better scores and the rookie you want to bring in may get injured or dropped. Price difference will be the same. There is no real reason to do it now.

    1. It depends how you rank Melbourne.. Personally, I see them as at least a top 6 team. Kelly ripped them apart..

Holman has proven himself in a whole different type; a wet and muddy game in cairns. Not common and leaves some to prove.

Bradshaw played well in a bellow ok team.. Has potential to improve and hold his spot.

For me, Kelly is the right choice.

  8. Libba to

TU: JOM – bank 120k + cash generation i hope but not a keeper

TD: Sicily – bank 30k and i hope to be a keeper, fingers crossed.

  9. Out: Mason Cox, Zach Merrit

    In: Caleb Marchbank, Charlie Curnow

    T/U – Like ya thinking
T/D – What the hell are ya thinking

    Thanks!

    tu – yes
    td – no
i will need to get rid of cole next week.
also have zac langdon and LDU in poor form
so maybe 1 or 2 corrective trades next week.
