Table For Two – Rd2

Written by Schwarzwalder on March 30 2017

In the spirit of our wildly successful ‘Thommo’s 2UP’ over the pre-season, we invite you to partake in a Table For Two ahead of Rd2.

Do you need a final decision on an Emergency?  On choice of Captain?  Who to play at D6?  Or dare I say it, a corrective trade?  Whatever the options, you can enter them into the Forum and our Coaches will help out via the ‘Thumbs’ function………..

      1. And then there’s Tuohy which would give me heaps of cash! Had big wraps on him over the pre-season… I hate decisions…

    1. Afterthoughts:

Ok, I’ve looked into it more. I have decided against Adams.

In his best year (2015), he played 17 games at 97.9 average. There were some injury games in there and his average TOG was 80%. The maximum amount of game time he played that year though, was 89%. If we scale it up, it puts his maximum average at 110. That’s best case scenario, i.e. He plays at 89% TOG for the entire season and he remains uninjured but his usual TOG% was generally 75-85%, so he may well just average the 100 for the season if he remains fully fit. His disposal is always questionable, he had his highest ever DT score of 151 this week just gone but it was converted to 117 SC.

May have been worth starting, but I don’t think I’ll be trading him in anytime soon. Especially when I’m using a trade on someone who is injured. He just misses too many games throughout the season, played the 1st and last game in 2015 but still missed 6 spaced out over the rest of the season. I think the risk is greater than the reward compared to Shaw as even relying on bench cover for a handful of week, it will put you behind.

I will look at the game tonight and decide if WHE is a must have rookie in the FWD line and then trade accordingly.

      1. What you saw from WHE last week is what you’re pretty much going to get consistently. Watched him closely even in TAC. The Pies Jumper gives him the platform to play regurlarly. Will be no different tonight.

  1. top of the afternoon lads.. I asked earlier this week about a certain trade and majority said don’t do it so certainly won’t be.. shouldn’t be doing any but I have a certain double option for Sunday..
would be awesome to get your opinions you legends..

Cam McCarthy OUT – Mitch Hannan IN
Joel Smith OUT – Zach Tuohy IN

    T/U pull the trigger
T/D cool your jets mate, it’s only been a week..

I would wait till Sunday to see what happens till then but those trades would be more then likely next week unless other pressing concerns occur on Sunday’s games.. cheers lads, always appreciate your help for a second season SC AFL player..

    1. I’d wait a week on McCarthy.

I have Joel Smith myself and plan on moving him on this week in case too many rookies turn out to be duds and I need 2 corrective trades next week.

No chance you can move on Smith without the cash from McCarthy?

      1. thanks for your reply Rob and everyone else who voted, i will certainly wait a week on those trades as you all virtually suggested.. have 280k cap space so could move Smith regardless.. either McCarthy or TT makes way next week for the required funds to go Smith to Tuohy more then likely..

Smith will be a handy loophole this week as it stands..

  2. TU: Out: N Riewoldt, L Strandica, In: M Hannan, T Goldstein
Witts moved to the bench as a cash generating option to bring in M Gawn/midfield premium down the track.

TD: Out: N Riewoldt, In: G Ablett via dpp or Out: N Riewoldt, M Hibberd (NTH), In: M Hannan, S Docherty
Ablett option will move SPP to the bench and midfield will be Danger, Pendles, Kennedy, Ablett, Selwood, Priddis, Fyfe, O’Meara.
Docherty option will move Otten to the bench consisting of a defence of Docherty, Simpson, Shaw, Laird, Burgoyne and Hampton.

    1. I was contemplating a similar trade but my concerns are Goldstein missing matches, I guess with Witts on the bench it eases the risk

    2. Who do you currently have in Ruck, that you want to bring Goldy in?

Of them all, I like the 2nd TD option – that is one hell of a strong backline!

  3. Anybody have any news on Hannabery, read that he is still recovering from knee issues & only played on the wing & also never attended a centre bounce. If this is true I may have to move him on, will wait another week.

  4. Joel Smith out.

    TU: McGrath in
    TD: Zac Jones in

Comment for Marsh or other Def options. Already have Marchbank and the Adelaide duo.

  6. In the technical league, I stuck the VC on Nankervis. I also brought in Fyfe. Should I take Nankervis’ 124, or roll the dice on Fyfe?

    TU: 124 is good enough
    TD: Fyfe

  7. TU: Steele + $297,600 in the bank.
TD: Macrae + $133,000 in the bank.

Comment: Buddy/JJK/etc. (already have Dahlhaus) + similar remaining salary to Macrae.
