    1. Walters could actually have a crack this weekend given that its the derby, not sure after that though. Maybe Savage this week or wait a week on Walters?

  1. Question:
It looks as though both Freeman (123k) and Johnson (102k) are going to ‘debut’ this weekend. If neither plays more than 2 games for the season, does their current price carry over to next year?

    1. No. It depends how many games they do play. I posted what does happen in a thread last week. Maybe check in last week’s rookie review or fallen premiums, which you’ll find under Contributors>Chillo. If it’s not there, I’ll dig it out for you when I get home. It’s quite complicated with two, three and four game players, but there are ‘Rules’.

      1. Typically, they end up being expensive rookies, closer to the top 10 draftees. Obviously there are a lot of factors that come in (average, number of games, etc.) but in the past, they’ll get a 40-50k bump, so the 102k rookie would start in the 140-150k range and the 123k rookie would be in the 170k range.

        1. There are EXACT calculations for every eventuality. I’ll write it up properly before season’s end. I’ll need to do a few more hours on it, just to get my samples up for a couple of them (eg 5-gamers), but most of them are solid enough to be 100% accurate.

  2. I need to trade the concussed Howe.

UP – Brayshaw (vGCS) – good mid time
DN – Hurn (vFreo) – proven gun

    Comment – McGovern or Short

    1. UP – McGovern (vFreo) – big scorer but inconsistent
DN – Short (vGee) – getting better each week

      Cheers all!

      1. Good call. The other side of the coin is his average record against the opponents after that. Still a solid option, but not a clear cut solution.

  3. Savage out.

Have laird, yeo, Simpson, Hurley & Hurn.
    Also can swing tmac.
Fwds heeney, McLean, Smith, Walters, hoff.

    Tu – Shaw
Td – someone else in fwd or def up to $486k – please comment thoughts

    1. Very similar team as you except for Tmac and Walters. I have Wallis & Buudy in replace of them and Wallis is at 477k avg of 94 and 3rd of 104.3 Dahlhaus out for the season which should give him more time in the mid and a low score of 79 this year. Only issue with him is injury. opponents (saints, NM, Carl, Rich)

I’m stuck with in my choice with defender in replace of Savage but i like Wallis just cause he seems consistent compared to most of the other choices

      1. Thanks nato.
There doesn’t appear to be many fwd options. Crisp scares me. I’ll do some work on Wallis.
        Thank you

  4. Savage was always on my mind on being traded out but now he is a must. Problem is i only have 39.3k to use, this means the highest priced player i can bring in is TMac. Not a fan of him due to him needing to score a bag of goals to tonne up and his opponents aren’t making that look good.
Leaves me with Shaw, Tuohy and Webster. Webster just seems risky because of his injury and now Savage is gone how will that affect him?
So the 2 choices are Shaw and Tuohy.

TU: Shaw (Carl, Adel, Syd, Mel) 3 rd avg 104.7, 5 rd avg 85
    or
TD: Tuohy (Rich, Haw, Freo, GCS) 3 rd avg 92.3, 5 rd avg 92.4

  5. 4 Trades, ranked 500, trying to balance cash league and overall.
    Carrying Savage and De Goey.

T/U: Lloyd and rookie (Billings F6)

    T/D: Webster and Westhoff/Menengola (puts Billings F7)

Comment: Webster and save the trade (Keep De Goey with Billings/Ahern loophole F6 this week)

  6. With Howe out and no confidence in Lynch as bench cover, I’m using my final trade to go Fritsch to Webster (via Ahern and O’Connor).

    TU Good idea
    TD Just trade Howe instead

Or comment if I should roll the dice with Lynch

  7. Draft question here. Got a prelim this week and struggling to select my starting 5 forwards. Have Dev Smith and Hawkins locked in, and pretty happy with Gresham as well. For the last two spots can choose between:
    TU: Crozier
    TD: J Cameron

Comment: Lambert or J Anderson (with Higgins out should get more playing time)

Thanks in advance for any help!

  8. I have 3 trades left and currently have on field Hibberd/J. Smith and Ahern/Fritsch.

T/U – OUT Hibberd and Fritsch, IN Webster and McDonald and have 1 trade left
T/D – OUT Hibberd, IN McDonald and keep 2 trades left

  9. Seems to be a popular thread, but Savage to:

    TU: Lloyd +$10k emergency funds
TD: Hurn + $100k emergency funds
3 trades left prior to this.
