Tech League Trade Talk – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 15 2019

Well there’s no more dancing around the obvious……..if you don’t have Grundy and Cripps, then YOU NEED Grundy and Cripps.  Have you got enough cash in hand to upgrade?  Or are you looking elsewhere with your trades this week?  I gotta feeling that Stack will be a popular fella………

  1. That moment when you say I need Grundy and Cripps but already have them and up to 2nd because of them!
Unsure whether any trades will be made this week and if there is I am assuming it will be rookies otherwise a sideways trade could be on the card to remove another Rd 13 bye player. Can only make so many of them however.

    1. What do you see as Stacks JS? Richmond have so many players missing who are higher on the pecking order, and are running a lot of rookies currently. Stack played a blinder in his first match when they lost, but struggled (relatively) in their win. With Dusty back this week, and Riewoldt and Cotchin 2-3 weeks away, there may not be a lot of money to be made. He is bargain basement though!

TU Get Stack, he’ll make enough money
TD Pass, get a bubble boy in a few weeks

  3. Is there any way to remove the leading team ?
They clearly didn’t start with the right squad and shouldn’t be in the group

  4. He is just being ignored, it is annoying looking at him sitting at the top, but i don’t think much can be done sadly. It was only 1 team which makes it seem better but there are always some that can’t follow the rules

  5. Everyone burning through trades as quick as my bro in this comp? He wants to make another change this week but that leaves him with just 25.

TU If you’ve also used 5+ after this week
TD If you have more patience than him

    1. HOW MANY TRADES OTHERS HAVE MADE

Time for me to give back to the SCT community. Had plenty of free time today and did a bit of digging. Now obviously I can’t judge if a team has say traded someone in and out already (e.g. Fyfe potentially), but we can definitively determine the minimum number of trades a team must have made to get to their current squad.
So that’s what I did. For all 44 teams (excluded the no1 team).

Our 44 tech teams have made a total of 201 trades at the completion of round 4.

      Averaging 4.57 trades per team.

Surprisingly high (Imo anyway). Perhaps more surprising was the spread of trades over the teams. You’d have expected the the higher ranked teams to have used more trades but results prove the opposite actually. Only marginally, it was a very even spread, but definitely more trades used by lower ranked teams.
Top 10 teams average 4.4 trades used
      Top 20 avg 4.5
      Bottom 20 avg 4.6
And Bottom 10 avg 4.8 trades used

All teams have used between 2 and 6 trades.
4 teams have used 2 trades (congrats)
      2 have used 3
      12 have used 4
      17 have used 5
      And 9 teams 6

Popular players to have been traded in include (roughly in this order)
      Danger
      Parker
      Grundy
      Worpel
      Lloyd
      Libba
      Whitfield
Fyfe (bad luck to those of you)
      Moore
      Cripps
      Kelly
      Cogs
      Rockliff
      Neale

Didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to who had departed each side but the glaringly obvious ones missing from many teams were. Yepp you guessed it
Mundy (congrats to those who stuck by him) and
      McDonald

      Goodluck coaches, and happy trading

      1. 3 trades done here, none so far this round. Not many trades need to be made to have a good team, just the right ones. Hoping I can keep up the form and go that 1 last place to make top spot!

        1. Completely agree Nato, totally proves that the major POD at this current stage is nailing the rookies and captain selections. I have had a few rookie errors but been nailing the captain and happily sitting at 7th
