A win and a week off in all 3 leagues, which is great news considering I only have 1 trade left – very happy!

  2. 2341 Selwood as captain and Mayne as my last trade today has got me over the line in 3 of my 4 finals. I lost one final by 5 pts but have double chance so not to bad.

  6. Lost in my main league by 44. I had GAJ captain and he didnt. I never thought I’d point the finger at the little master. Plays Melbourne in his 200th and didn’t leave the Runway from Gold Coast airport.

  7. 2220/Ablett 4/5 League Wins.
What Could’ve Been Scenario: 2313/Selwood 4/5 League wins.

    Win: Minor Elimination Final
    Win: Minor Elimination Final
    Win: Minor Qualifying Final
    Loss: Elimination Final
    Win: Elimination Final.

To be honest, it’s a pretty bad week for me. Only in 2 finals series and now out of one – but I take every league game seriously, even if it is the Minor Finals Series. Had GAJ locked in as C v Melbourne, and was tossing up between Rockliff, Cotchin and Selwood for the VC. Went Rockliff, which wasn’t so bad compared to what GAJ served up, but was prepared to roll the 126. Lost 59 points there.

Onto the Doombringers, Doing the Duty and Delights.

    Josh P Kennedy (93)

Should have put the big C on Chris Rogers! But yeah anyways that brings my streak of poor captain scores to 4 weeks in a row, bugger, should have put the VC on Selwood instead of Stevie J, couple of my opponents were wise enough to do so.
Won one 1/4 of my qualifying finals, biggest loss was 32 points and got as close as 15, an exciting week I gotta say!

  10. 2324 and a win in all 5 finals, pretty happy especially to be still alive in LoEC.

Next task… knock MJ out in straight sets!

  11. 2316/GAJ,

Won 4/5 leagues including a nail biter v Bearded Burblers by 22 in LoEC1, very nervous watching the Freo v GWS game as I had Barlow & Fyfe & Burblers had Barlow as (C). Koray, as always thanks for the battle mate 🙂

  12. 2101

Terrible round. moved down to 621 overall. Won 0/5 league matches, but luckily finished top 4 in all leagues so I get a double chance. Only positive was i won against Motts in the SCT super draft league and advanced to next weeks preliminary final.

  13. 2179/GAJ

    Somehow won 4/5 finals,
Leaving me with the week off in 3 Leagues including my main one, and in 2 semis this week…

Pretty disappointed with the score but won’t complain about results,
Good luck to everyone in the rest of the FinalsSeries

  14. Came 30th for the week with 2494!

If I put the VC on Selwood instead of Stevie J I would’ve come 5th, but I guess many would be in the same boat there.

    Duds:
JJK- just realised I could’ve put Staker’s 79 on prior to West Coast’s game, however you’d expect JJ to beat that in most games anyway.

Shaw- finally gets tagged, and unsurprisingly scores ugly.

  15. 2232/GAJ

lost my knock-out final by 20 f**king points.

made the stupid decision to play T.Lee over staker and that cost me. Absolutely gutted. Bartel and Harveys woeful scores didn’t help.

  16. 2253 VC Joelwood

C was on GAJ, but used the loophole thank Christ! As ended up winning by 18pts in my preferred league, which I actually had resigned to the fact I was going to lose!! Especially since I had used my last trade in R17!!!

What helped me was Boomer! If he had scored a 62+, I would’ve lost… and I know the other coach will be spitting chips, as he traded him in using Staker!!!

Alas, I live to fight another day… and facing a team I beat by 3 pts earlier in the year… might fancy my chances if they have used all their trades already!

As for my other private league, I managed to get the week off, so happy all round!

  17. 2227/joelwood luckily got through 4 top 4 finals and have the week off, unfortunately bowed out of SCT1 by 20 points against none other then Motts himself. Was $200 off upgrading t.mitchell to deledio too sigh lol, we’ll still going great guns in money comps so no complaints here 🙂

  18. just needed Jacobs not to outscore Pav by more than 30 points to win and get a week off, but what do you know he goes out and pulls out a 133- his highest score of the season, and Pav stinks it up with a 66. but of course…..

  19. 2174 / Ablett

Won three elimination finals, lost one qualifying final (by 20 pts). Struggling without any trades, team isn’t half as strong as I’d like. No one to blame but myself. Luckily everyone had Ablett as captain, could’ve been tight otherwise. On another note, already looking forward to next season. With a decent pre-season, Pavlich and Sandilands will be very thrifty choices. Plus Watson won’t be too expensive either……

  20. All over for me.

Still struggle with the whole SC scoring system.

Lost my elimination by 2 points after Sandilands scored 63 from 3 effective handballs (3 ineffective), no kicks, no marks and clanger. 28 hitouts must have gone down a bucket load of Fremantle throats. Not to mention Petrie scoring 74 from 8 kicks and a handball, no goals from a key forward who got an absolute toweling.

To be honest shouldn’t have been in the hunt (going into Sunday’s games) in any case but just don’t see how those two blokes scored what they did with limited to no influence on games.

As I said that is me out.

Thanks to Motts and the team for another great year on the site.

Don’t write much but read alot.

Best of luck to the rest, bring on 2014.

  23. Won only 2 out of 5. Lost one by a solitary point. Was my own fault as I put Currie on the ground to claim the loophole and left the emergency on Grundy instead of big Cox. Fair to say I didn’t sleep last night. Only eliminated in that league though so could have been worse.

Not happy with Shaw, Jack, Kennedy and Bartel and Ablett.

Happy with Selwood, Pendles, Goddard and Griffen to recover from his slow start.

  24. 2326 and 5/5 Prelim wins, including SCT4 and LoEC3, so very happy. The difference in both those comps being my choice to loophole Jelwood over Ablett.

Some disappointments still in JJK, Bartel, HShaw, Ablett and SThompson but the likes of Jelwood, Pendles, Rockliff, Goddard, Swan and DMartin made up for it.

Resting up this weekend then and hitting the ice baths.

  25. Won 4/5.

Luckily i had the double chance in the one I lost, as I was top place.

Of course, out of all the teams I had to play, he was the ONLY one who scored more than me 🙁

  26. 2245/joelwood btw.

Could easily have scored another 50 points with better bench/emergency choices. But honestly, one of them was likely and the other 20/20 hindsight.

Still wouldn’t have won my 5th league needed 80 points for that.

  28. Hey guys got two trades left and not sure whether to trade or hold. Should I go Nicholls down to Grundy for cash and then wait a week for injuries or go titchell to montagna/ premo to finish my side?
Tu – trade 1 this week
Td – trade two this week
