The Big Decision

Written by Motts on June 11 2010

Keeping it short this week. Would be very surprised if someone nominates a captain that isn’t in the options below. Goddard would’ve given you 134 extra points above GAJ last week if you’d had the guts to switch it to him. There seems to be a bit of discontent down Kardinia Park way with the Little Master of late – is that enough to make you give it to someone else?

Which of the following DEFs (under $522k) comes into the TEAM for Rd8? (three choices)

  1. Still going GAJ at the moment. Will think more about it today, thinking of Hodge, he always plays great down at Tassie.

    1. Agreed. If I had of given Goddard the c last week, I would have won all my league matches. Instead I only won 1 of 3.

      Big decision this week.

  2. If the saints were playing at etihad I’d go Goddard. GAJ has got pretty good record against the bombers so I’ll stick with him. By the way, it would’ve only been 67 more points on your score last week picking Goddard over GAJ not 134.

    1. Ablett scored 121; as captain 242
      Goddard scored 188; as captain 376

      Difference if Goddard captain = 134

      Only 67 if you didn’t use either as captain

      1. If you have Ablett & Goddard in your team and;

        Ablett is captain you got 242 + Goddard’s 188= 430pts
        if however,
        Goddard is captain you got 376 + Ablett’s 121= 497.

        You therefore gained 67 pts if Goddard was your captain.

      2. Your working out is wrong Anthony, but it is still the same result.

        With ablett captain= 242+188= 430
        With Goddard captain= 121+376=497

        Difference= 67

  3. god damn, this is a hard one.
    I’m torn between GAJ, Judd, Hodge and Sandi. Probably play safe and go GAJ. My opponent has Hodge & Judd, so i’m guessing he’ll pick one of them.

    on another topic: who should i trade in between Carazzo and O’Brien???

    1. On a hunch I’d say Carrazo, he is a DPP and probably more consistent for his 80 odd, but, don’t tell Motts.

      I’ve got a reputation to maintain ๐Ÿ˜‰

        1. thanks HGL. this was my thinking, O’brien’s had a couple of big scores in the last few weeks, but other than that he’s not a massive point scorer. Carrazo has also dropped in value over the last few weeks, so now would be a good time to pick him up i assume?

  4. His b/e is 107 and is projected to drop another 8,000k, but now seems as good a time as any to get on him.

  6. Had Juddy for the past 2 weeks but worried about Mottsy’s baby Levi as he did a number on him in the 2nd round last year for an 88.
    Going Pendles – bit concerned that McKenzie might get him but IMO this is his year to become a uber premium.

      1. yeah i was considering him but i don’t like to give first gamers captainscy it puts pressure on them and it makes the rest of the team jealous
