The Captains Table – Rd23

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 26 2016

Apologies for the modified version of the Captains Table but my time has been limited while on holiday.  Five Invites have been sent out for the Captains Table in this all-important Grand Final week.  The recipients are (in order of appearance, times are in AEST):

Patrick Dangerfield (GEE) OR Max Gawn (MEL), Saturday Early Afternoon 1.45pm – The Top2 players in the Supercoach universe this season are playing off against one another this week.  You could start with either as your VC with plenty of confidence………..

Patrick Cripps (CARL), Saturday Afternoon 2.10pm (vs Ess) – On fire of late with seven tons on the trot.  Fast becoming a starter for 2017 with that kind of form.  Should make it eight in a row against the Bombers.

Tom Rockliff (BRL), Sunday Early Afternoon 1.10pm (vs Stk) – One of the form SC players in the second half of the season and doesn’t mind playing at the Docklands either.  Will find plenty of the ball against the Saints on Sunday.

Scott Pendlebury (COLL), Sunday Afternoon 3.20pm (vs Haw) – I wrote him off last week and for that, I must apologise.  If he’s out on the ground, then he’s always an option for the Captaincy.  Great recent record against the Hawks!

Lachie Neale (FRE), Sunday Twilight 4.40pm (vs Dogs) – Still the leading disposal-accumulator in the League and that amounted to a big score of 154 last week.  Doggies haven’t used the tag much this season and don’t see them using it in Pav’s farewell match.

Of course, there are more options available to us.  Who will you be selecting as C this week?  Who is going to score some big double points for your GF?  Give us your thoughts below and good luck in your GFs, Coaches! (And make sure you get your loophole options in order!).

Who are the best C / VC options in Rd23? (four choices)

    1. Joey – I reckon Pendles out of those two.

Even though Port are playing GC, Robbie has been playing a lot more forward over the past few weeks.

Now that Taylor Adams is out for the year, Pendles seemed to spend a lot more time in the middle last week.

  1. Can’t decide between Gawn and Danger for VC.

Geelong should win, but I reckon Melbourne should do OK.

    For VC duties this week:

    T/up Gawn
    T/down Danger

  2. VC Gawn / C Hannerbery

Given Gawn’s performances on away games (albeit this is up the highway), I’m hoping he goes LARGE.

Issue I have is if my opponent VC’s him too, if so I’ll have to go Danger or Selwood as my VC and hope that it works to my advantage!

Having said all that, Sloane getting rubbed out has made it very very hard for me to win my Cash League Final now, as I have no trades, but I know my opponent has at least one left so can move Sloane on… stranger things have happened though.

Best of luck everyone and thanks heaps for all the thumbs and advice and chit chat… been gold once again this season.
