  1. Got a tip for the last race at Gold Coast tomorrow. Should pay Nicholas A’Plenty. Here’s the justification:

    GOLD COAST R8 – CHANDRA

I really like this horse. The only problem with tipping him is that I have no idea what price will go up being the last race at The Coast. What I’m hoping for is that most punters will put a line straight through him looking at his form, which reads x008. CHANDRA obviously wasn’t 100% right early in his campaign, so John Dann freshened him up, got him right, and produced him in town on the 22/08 where he wasn’t disgraced beaten 4.3Ls behind Triskele. I watched the replay, CHANDRA missed the kick, sat last (a mile off them), was scrubbed along for the first 600m, and then worked home very, very solidly. CHANDRA was checked slightly at the 150m mark where McMahon had to sit-up momentarily, but it was his run-on that really impressed me. Whilst he was beaten comfortably on the line he was actually in front them 200m past the post stretching out beautifully as though he’d just chimed in. The rise in distance is absolutely perfect, the winkers go on and the blinkers come off, and he has a terrific record at The Coast. The claiming apprentice concerns me slightly, but all Hearn needs to do is ‘possie’ him up, and let him fly home. We just need to hope there is speed on, as predicting speed in races these days is becoming more and more difficult to judge.
