The M4 Position

Written by Motts on March 6 2012

Now first of all, let me just say a big thank you to everyone who has voted so far on this team. I think its a belter and anyone who’s using it to compete in a “normal” league is going to be scaring the bejesus out of whoever they’re facing in Round 1.

Secondly, the suggestion was made that we re-visit the rookies in the SCTTL team prior to the first round lockout which to me makes a bit of sense. So regardless of the outcome of this poll, please don’t lock your teams in just yet. Leave at least one spot on your field free before you save them so I can see that they’re not completed.

In the week before final lockout I’ll post the final SCTTL team. Hold off on completing your team ’til then.

OK, now I’ve seen the result of today’s poll saying that we should leave between $0 and $10k in the bank and I thank everyone who voted but with $574,100 available to spend on the M4 that left us with only three options – Pav, Scotto and Wellsy – so I’ve taken Website Owners Prerogative and provided the following list of players to choose from.

After all, what’s the point of having your own website if you can’t have a little fun with it once in a while, eh?

One spot left on the team, one vote. Hit it.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  2. Motts a big thanks for setting this up for us to play. Should be a great comp with lots of differing opinions and teams at the end.

  3. Far out ….. !!!!!!!!!

This team is looking ALOT like the team that i’ve been spending hours and hours crafting into a work of art.

    Not happy!!

  4. Jack Redden. He has is bye in round 11, which is rare for a premium and great for us (going for overall that is, as everyone else in the league will be in the same boat). He will also almost certainly raise his avg quite significantly in 2012 too.

I resisted the SCTTL thing for so long, just thinking the stress of having one team is enough for the year, but eventually bitthe bullet and jumped on board Deano’s league the other night. Now I really wanna see this team do well!!!

  5. I think Pavlich more for his DPP status which is something we haven’t considered, if it ends with Bartel we don’t have any options to play around with the likes of Fyfe and Martin in our forward line.

  6. M4 a waste for a good DPP they should be in your Forward or Backlines if a MId as well they will beat 90% of the forward and back players only.
Which makes things interesting go for Bartel few retirees in the cats he will do more this year.

  7. One question for all the knowledgeable SC players here the Draw:
Nth play GWS or GCS 3 times before round 12. Doggies play both before Round 8 I think Essendon also have both sometime before Round 10 What is the thought process of putting players like Swallow Harvey Higgins Boyd Zakarhis (not sure how to spell that) in then after Round 13 taking them out Also the two super rounds Round 10 Geelong Collingwood have GWS and GCS Round 15 Collingwood Hawthorn play them??

    Questions Questions Questions.

  8. Time to lock in M. Pavlich?

At 573,000 that leaves enough money to take your friend to the movies and buy and ice-cream afterwards. That honours the people’s choice $0-10K left in the kitty. Also provides a DPP option to add flexibility in MID/FWD.

    Going once… twice…

  9. Hey Omen a little of a worry but they are all early rounds so teams especially these ones will want to guarantee points They are on the cusp of the 8 Really favoured Swallow in my Midfield after seeing the draw. Hawks have a tough early 5 weeks think Pies Cats and West Coast are 3 of these they play. Cannot believe I am saying this but maybe only maybe I put Buddy in after this, however tight games give better SC points if you play well and Buddy you can guarantee will kick a few
Anyway Pav you can always move down forward later swap for a good cheapie gone up to midfield and trade in a Prem Mid you will not loose a trade so can still work

  10. Guys just had a quick look at the team one player not sure why he did not get a rating especially for the cash Dangerfield, Adelaide will play him midfield, he is definitely due. Well worth the risk me thinks. He can kick goals??? 33 touches on his last outing in the midfield.

  11. Are you looking at creating another league? I’ve missed out so far, but are really keen.

    Thanks

  12. Not having a SCTTL team for two reasons:

    1) Primarily cause it’s time consuming enough having one SC team that i think i’d have to take a few days off each week if i were to try and manage two teams.

    2) Call me a prude, call me a stickler but i’d hate for one of the SCTalk readers (or myself) to win the 50K, the car, or the weekly 1K and then be caught out for having multiple entries. I know you can use different email addresses etc…

Just thought i’d air my thoughts on this matter. I love the concept though. Really think it’s a great idea.

  13. Since we are talking particulars … “Participants can only enter SuperCoach once. Under no circumstances can participants enter two or more teams in SuperCoach. Any entry that fails to provide all required information may be disqualified.”
