How do you spend your weekends in the off season? Personally, the Spring Racing Carnival will take up a bit of my time in the short term. Beyond that I’ll keep a lazy eye on the cricket, get into the gym a little more, and maybe travel a bit now I don’t have a reason to be in Melbourne on the weekends.
What are your plans?

crotcheying black and white apparel while planning next years SC assault. i had a plan for this year to win the car which failed dismally, only got to the top 500 by round 11 and ran out of trades, so this will need revision, may actually aim a bit lower and see how I can go in the leagues next year.

Speaking of the spring carnival, it consumes most of my time early on in the post football season perhaps you could rename the site Spring Carnival talk and those who are interested can discuss all things horse racing etc… just a very random and selfish thought!
Apart from the nags (the wife’s and the horses) the golf clubs generally get a good solid workout!

Great idea Stevo – the HS ran a fantasy ‘Super Racing” game last year, I haven’t seen whether or not they intend to do so again this year.

Cricket season is the equal of football season for me! Also, the UCI cycling championships are coming to Geelong at the end of September.
Oh, and my first child will be born in a few months! I’m fairly certain I won’t have any trouble filling my time……

Immediately following this week I’ll be looking forward to watching the finals without worrying about whether my SC players are getting their hands on the pill or not, or worrying about my tips for the week – always a strange feeling after 22 rounds.
Then it’s that strange time of the year when there’s no footy and no cricket and people start talking about horses . . . sorry guys but I just don’t get it (apart from the drinking part). That’s when I might decide to voluntarily spend some time outdoors after avoiding it for the last half year.

Motts doesn’t mind using the site for Spring Carnival talk at all. We will of course need a disclaimer about the dangers of following whatever tips are posted. I was involved in the HS Spring Racing comp last year. Was TERRIBLE at it. But the experience did serve to strengthen my resolve to get better at it
Just remembered that there is a SC Finals comp that gets run every year. Must admit, I’ve never gotten a lot out of it though.
