The Polling Station – Rd15

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 25 2018

Time to get your requests into SCT and control what you see here at supercoachtalk dot com.

With upgrading season reaching its peak, our Coaches are scrambling to fill those last positions with the best premiums possible.  SCT is here to help you as best we can.  So which polls/threads would you like to see ahead of Rd15?

Any options in Ruck other than Grundy & Gawn?  Any PODs in the FWD line for the last nine weeks?  Best upgrade options from the ‘Bye’ teams last week?  Is Dangerfield a ‘must-have MID’ over the last nine weeks?  Whatever you’d like to see, enter it into comments below.  We’ll do our best to fit it into our schedule before the weekend.  (Keep in mind the Thursday night game).  Fire away…………

    1. I’d love to know the answer. I have 6 left and am NOT full premo, so my question is, do I make the necessary trades now, or do I wait until injuries hit and address then?
Currently have BOTH Fritsch and Guelfi on the field.

Can trade both this week to Uber premo and Billings with my spare cash, but leaving myself with four trades feels very risky, especially considering the way this season has gone!!

      1. Whats a better plan…

1# Grab Fyfe and keep Dusty at M9 and lose DPP swing and keep Tim Smith on field for a week
2# Miss out on Fyfe for now but trade in Buddy and have 1 forward upgrade left which will be Guelfi to McLean next week and keep Walters/Ahern dpp

Is it ok If I don’t have fyfe.

        Someone help.

        Currently 1000ish

  2. Final FWD spot

    TU – Gray
    TD – Westhoff

I already have – Heeney, DSmith, Mclean, Menegola, Walters, Sicily (in DEF), TMcdonald (in DEF).

  3. Can we start petitions for Ken Hinkley and Chris Scott telling them we need their respective best player to spend a lot more time around the ball if they:
    a. want any chance of making the four, and
    b. don’t want abusive (e)mail from SCTers for the next 9 weeks!

  4. Be interesting to examine what teams have the best run home.

    Also,
    – what teams have something to play for, ie fighting to get in, or stay in the 8 (implying they will try their best and play their best players),
    vs
-those that cant make it and may start playing the kids.

      1. cheers allsaints.

Would be interesting to revisit that using the current ladder, not as expected at the start of the year. Back then, Crows and power were ranked the 2 hardest, with roos a long way down. Things have obviously changed a bit.

I used Haks strong run home to pick gunston, as I can see him doing well, injuries notwithstanding.

Be interesting to see if anyone else stands out – especially if you are looking for a POD

        1. If I remember correctly, last year Father Dougal updated his strength-of-schedule analysis throughout the season. I’m not sure whether or not he’s going to do that again this year.

  5. Best hypothetical final team. I.e. 6, 8, 2, 6 lineup. Been done a few times but now that we are post byes we can disregard these as a consideraion, also more form so perhaps different results? Just want to know for final spots i.e. D6 M8 and F6.

  6. I’d love a poll on how many trades coaches have left.

I’m torn between wanting to complete my last premium defender, just involves waiting if I want Webster, OR bringing in a premium mid to relegate M Crouch to M9 – really like the idea of having a a non-rookie mid bench player.

  7. Interested to know how everyone went over those pesky bye rounds?

    Overall status…before & after
How many rrades did you use
What was your total score over the 3 rounds?

    Cheers Catta

      1. Didn’t Barry Hall get 6 weeks for punching that guy ten years ago? Surely what Cameron did can’t be as bad as that.

        1. precedence doesn’t apply anymore as the tribunal system is all new this year. and the injury of harris was severe with brain bleeding. plus cameron has been charged 10 times in his career. he’s a thug.

          1. Fair enough.

Keep in mind that at the time I used the precedence argument this afternoon, I wasn’t aware of the brain-bleeding, and had only read about, rather than seen, the incident in question.

Having now seen it, and taking into account the impact, I think he will get somewhere from 4 to 6. I don’t think he deliberately set out to injure Harris –if you want to see what that looks like, have a look on YouTube for the footage of Darren Milburn knocking out SOS back in 2001/2 – but it was reckless and caused serious injury, so that’s probably about right.

  8. Deduce the ultimate team for the run home and then run a poll asking how many of the team each Supercoacher has.

E.G Laird, Lloyd, Yeo, Simmo, McDonald, Sicily

    I have all 6.

Therefore I have 6/6 Ultimate defenders.

    1. It’s about going forward not what they’ve done so far. Can’t see McDonald keeping this up and Lloyd will start attracting a tag. Might not be top 6 from here on.

  9. What teams make the best loop hole rookies???

And maybe the best option in each line, including great DDP loops.

We are at the stage where a non playing rookie can be better than a playing one for bench loops.

      1. WCE and Freo have all but two of the last Sunday games between them, and the other two games are second last on Sunday. Nth have two Saturday games. Olango and Durman stay in my side.

    1. I always refer back to the polls on Top Premos for each position, ignore those now injured, start from the top and then decide over the top two I don’t already own.
You could do a lot worse. The archives on here are nothing short of awesome!

  10. Not many have him (around 4000 coaches), but trade or hold Harris Andrews.
Club said he’ll miss AT LEAST two, but then how will he be when he returns?

    1. if he did have the internal bleed which has been mentioned on here today, I think it’ll be a fair bit longer than two weeks sadly.
how many trades do you have left? unfortunately it’s looking like you may have to trade him 🙁

  11. Looks like Treloar has ripped the hammy off the bone, 10 weeks they’re saying = season over

Who to replace him may be a great poll, several 100’s / maybe 1000’s probably bought him in for Macrae recently 🙁

  12. Who is the in-form premo I should have in my mid?

I already have Fyfe, Mitchell, Dangerfield, Cripps, Bonts, Martin and T. Kelly with the usual bench cover.

    Money is no issue!!
