The TEAM 2017 – Rucks

Written by Schwarzwalder on March 15 2017

If you’re stopping by the SCT site, then you are part of our TEAM!ย  A collection of the best & brightest SC-minds pooling their knowledge to form the perfect line-up ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today we turn to our Ruck line.ย  Keep in mind that we voted for a ‘Set & Forget’ strategy with our Rucks.ย  Barring injury, these Rucks will be in place for the entire season.ย  We may still hold a poll early next week to determine a back-up swingman option (Ryder, Nankervis or Boyd).

Given his form in the JLT Series and popularity in the RMT threads, I’ve added Aaron Sandilands to this poll.ย  If he is selected then we might fit in another Premium elsewhere.ย  We’re looking for your top THREE Ruck choices in the poll below.ย  If your preferred player isn’t on the list, enter their name into the Forum below.ย  If that player receives enough ‘Thumbs UP’ then they’ll be placed under consideration.

Anything can happen before Rd1, so make sure you use all THREE of your votes.ย  The % of popularity can still play a big role in determining back-up options and so on.

Thanks again for all your help………fire away, Coaches!

  1. I understand that the ‘Set & forget” was voted in but since the complication of the practice games circumstances have changed with some teams at this stage indicating going into Rd 1 with a playing backup.
    Gawn/ Spencer
    Goldy/ Preuss/ Daw
    Martin/ Smith
I suggest we voted on all relevant players including the propular rookies

  2. ** First of all, there will be a mid-pricer poll on Friday to determine if Witts/Nankervis/Ryder are ‘popular’ enough to force their way into the final line-up.

** Secondly……don’t panic…….we were in the same position last year with the Rucks after the pre-season comp. I know this because I panicked and changed my Ruck set-up with two ‘value’ picks, only to have Goldy and Gawn smash things up. Don’t throw away the whole game plan on the back of pre-season form

    1. Completely agree. I still think the risk of not having Gawn and him exploding is greater than the risk of having him and him being a flop

  3. Gawn, Goldie and Grundy will no doubt do well. The question I am asking though is will they score substantially more points than some of the good mid priced Rucks. If I save by going a mid priced Ruck then i can put it into a premium Mid that will make up the points and hopefully some.
Im gunna start with Ryder and Sandi.
Go for two good players who should both score 100’s
My Forward/ Ruck will be Boyd because of the injury to Roughead along with the confidence boost of a Norm Smith.
He will be required to do more plus with his goal kicking should score well.
Thought of Nankervis but in reality if he was class then the he wouldn’t of been traded.

  4. Is it a waste of money sitting witts at r3 to and having the Nank in the forward line should I just save myself a future trade and have strnadica at r3?
