Considering we had 16 players on the field last week, I thought our results were pretty solid. Six League wins, giving us a chance at some more Finals and we held steady in the Rankings. New recruit Robbie Gray played beautifully on debut with a 122. The TEAM as it stands now………
Things are looking rosier for Rd14 with the with 21 players available. By my calculations, we still have upgrades to take care of on the following lines: 1xDEF, 1xMID & 2xFWD (although we do have Fritsch who can sit at D6).
Richards & Holman have done their jobs beautifully but now might be the time to upgrade them to a premium? If Ahern gets his 3rd game he’s sure to be a popular downgrade target, giving us even more cash in the bank.
So if this was your team, what would be your next move? You can always enter your trade suggestions in the Comments below and our Coaching Staff will assess it using our Thumbs UP/DOWN function. We have Thursday night games over the next month so final decisions might have to be made quickly after team selections come through (depending on who is playing). Will play it by ear. Good luck, Coaches!
**UPDATE at 9am on 22/6/18**
Trades have already been made according to ‘Spearhead’ and his comments below. Barry (PTA) & Holman (GCS) are OUT for Ahern (NTH) & Clayton Oliver (MEL) IN. We have 21 available players, 20 of which can take the field (one extra in the FWD line).
We are in the position to use the Emergency loophole in the forward line. Guelfi scored 63 on Thursday night and can be used via Isaac Heeney. The only question is: Take Guelfi’s 63 pts or roll the dice on Tim Smith (MEL) on Friday night against Port?
Please vote on the following polls……first off is choice of Captain……..

And the question of swapping Guelfi for Tim Smith………

Thank you, Coaches!!

Holman down to Ahern.
Should leave a bank of $4ook.
Due to there low BE’s. Next week we could go….
Guelfi to Premo Mid Treloar / Kelly/ Neale swinging Walters forward.
Richards to Premo Defender. We should be able to afford anyone but Lloyd or TMac.
This will leave The Team with 7 trades left and Fritch and Ryan loopholed as F6.
Sorry just realised you can’t loophole Fritch and T
Smith because they both play for Melb. 🙁
Still Fritch should be an easy upgrade when required.
This week:
Holman into Ahern giving you instant cash, future cash and DPP (No brainer)
Guelfi into TMac to create DPP with Sicily (and TMac is killing it!)
Next week:
Lloyd into the defence after his bye (possibly for Richards)
I like your thinking Diesel but that would still leave Walters at M8.
I think we need another Premo Mid.
A mid is definitely needed before finals.
This week will have enough players covering to have a decent score.
Lloyd is a must have in the backline.
Hopefully can generate some cash from Ryan, Mihocek and Giro over next few weeks to make the move on the best mid before round 18.
Oliver/Kelly/Selwood/Treloar OR Throw caution to the wind and get the little master GAJ.
Lloyd (shiver) … burnt many people badly last year in roughly the same scenario!!
Agreed. And an elite MID should ALWAYS outscore a premo DEF or FWD. we just need to agree on who next week.
presuming Richards makes a rise of $18k (currently BE of 45, so it is possible)
This week:
Out: M Guelfi (via Walters), D Barry
In: P Ahern, O Wines
21,400 left.
Next week
Out: N Holman, L Austin
In: 102,400 rookie, J Lloyd
Will leave Fritsch as the only rookie on the ground.
Barry to Ahern
Holman to Oliver
20 on field this week, 8 trades left & 47k in the bank (Midfield complete)
Next week possibly something like
Guelfi/Fritsch to J Smith (Walters forward)
Richards/Austin to Lloyd (Backline complete)
6 trades left & 1 forward upgrade required
Love it
We need to add at least one premo each week. I agree that Walters eventually goes fwd after the byes.
So, this week
Holman to Bont….on fire, be 66, and quite a pod.
Austin to Redman if Redman picked. Goes against the John Glenn rule but raises an extra 158.2k and would leave us with 174.4k…much as what we started this round with.
While I like Ahern, bringing in Bont or similar, and swinging Walters, will mean we only need one each premo mid/fwd/def after this week. There will be more downgrade options in the back end of the season as there usually is.
This could be a great week for us…at least until Thursday night !!
I went TD, BUT thinking more about Bont …
with Macrae out
and McLean in doubt
that could just be and awesome shout!
Left the c on Olango from last week..idiot. Go Titch !!!
