The TEAM – Rd3

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 6 2017

If you’re visiting the site, then you’re part of the TEAM!ย  A collection of educated Supercoach minds with the sole purpose of creating the perfect TEAM ๐Ÿ˜‰

Rd1 Score: 2207

Overall Ranking: 8839

Trades Left: 30

Remaining Salary: $22 800

Another successful weekend, Supercoaches!ย  We’ve made a very solid start with the TEAM, backing up last weeks’s 2240 with a 2207 this weekend.ย  We are positioned beautifully to climb the ranks over the next few weeks!

The week of correctional trades is upon us!ย  And yet, I can’t see any trades being made this weekend for the TEAM.ย  It would be nice to have Will Hoskin-Elliott but we’d have to burn two trades just to get him into the side, not worth it for mine. As always, we’ll open up the comments section for any trade ideas you might have.ย  If your suggestion finds enough support (Thumbs UP/DOWN) then we’ll run aย  poll on it before the weekend. Get cracking, Coaches!

** UPDATE at 7.15pm on 6.4.17 **

OK, Coaches……….All of our rookies are playing except for Mitchell Hibberd (NTH).ย  Since we have plenty of cover, Hibberd will most likely become Nic Newman (SYD) next week.ย  As I said earlier, WHE would be handy but I see no need to trade out Roughead to achieve that.ย  Judging by the ‘Thumbs’ in the comments below, we wouldn’t be able to get a clear majority from the Coaching Staff.ย  So as it stands, we will still have all 30 trades heading into Rd4!ย  I’m sure you’ll agree that’s a pretty handy spot to be in ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here are the polls for Rd3, you know the routine.ย  There are some good VC options for the Friday night game so get your votes in NOW………….

  1. Off to a great start, is it too early to start talking about how we’re gonna split the 50k once we win?

  2. Does anyone think it is worth dropping roughy down to WHE for the cash? we could start going premium pretty quickly and i dont think there will be much of a points difference between roughy and WHE

    1. Yes Roughy is playing in a different Hawks team now so is unlikely to achieve past results imooc.
Trade for value $ and points.

  3. My rookies are exactly the same except I have WHE instead of Butler.
Cant think of any other rookies worth bringing in this week.

  4. The TEAM has Hibberd, Pickett, Parfitt, and Florent. Methinks at least some correctional trades are necessary.

    1. There’s just unfortunately no-one to trade them to with the money in the bank and that’s the issue.

The only two possible trades this week would be:
      – Hannan could probably come in for Florent
      – Taranto to WHE

      1. Those would be sensible enough trades. It’s up to the SCT community as to whether or not they are worth it, though.

Newman and Hayward (and, if he can lift his scoring and hold his spot, Fox) could be good options next week. Harley Balic (who has been going very nicely in the WAFL) will debut for Fremantle this week, so he too should be considered in a couple of weeks’ time.

        1. I’d suggest holding a poor rookie defender (Hibberd perhaps) and bringing in Newman next week if he’s still playing. Looks like a solid choice, but only 1 game so far. Maybe focus on the forward rooks to fix this week.

    2. I’d wait to see how Newman and Hayward go this week. Potential options for rookie correction next week. Balic also plays his fist game this week so another option in a few weeks.

    1. Definitely! A lot will depend on team selections tomorrow night. Shortly afterwards, the polls should be ready for the weekend…….

  5. personally I think Roughy should stay put wasting a trade for not much gain , money aside he will generate more , if WHE has another blinder pull the trigger then if Roughie is 80/90 still ahead moneywise.

    1. I agree that a trade of Roughy to WHE is a wasted trade at the moment. However, I keep looking at the burn man and wondering if it may be a viable correction. Yes, I know that he has a history of injury, but when he is on the park he can be elite. With Wells now at the pies he is potentially the highest point producing forward in the comp. I cannot see another forward with as much potential if he can stay on the park. Risk v reward???

      1. The Burn Man is in Team Schwarz! I doubt you’ll convince the Coaching Staff here though ๐Ÿ˜‰

        1. Interesting that you have him Schwarz. Not trying to convince anyone, just asking the question. In 2015 it cost me a lot by not having him. He could be the determining factor in the season (as per MJ’s Ellis trade in 2014?). Just a thought – risk v reward. However, it may be prudent to wait a week – Roughy v Suns, Burn Man V Giants.

  6. For me the smart move is to VC Danger into Fyfe. If Pendlebury scores 130 odd then your a chance of missing out on Danger going big.
