The TEAM – Rd6

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 27 2017

If you’re frequenting our site, then you are part of the TEAM!  A supreme gaggle of Coaches working together to find the perfect TEAM………

Rd4 Score: 2206

Overall Ranking: 15879

Trades Left: 26

Remaining Salary: $2 100

Trade History

Rd4 – Mitchell Hibberd (NTH) to Nic Newman (SYD) & Max Gawn (MEL) to Stefan Martin (BRL)

Rd5 – Tim Taranto (GWS) to Zac Fisher (CAR) & Jaeger O’Meara (HAW) to Marc Murphy (CAR)

A respectable score of 2206 from the TEAM over the weekend.  That resulted in 5/10 League wins (five TEAM Leagues in the Top500!) and a jump in the Rankings of 3161 places.  Nice effort, Coaches!  The TEAM as it stands right now……….

As you may or may not have seen, the TEAM has made the next Round of The SCT Cup but we are up against one of the strongest sides in the Comp.  We are going to have to be at the top of our game!

Personally I didn’t vote for Marc Murphy’s inclusion last week but there was a clear majority for it………that’s how the TEAM works!  Reports are a bit muddled on his latest injury so we’ll have to wait and see there.  The Roughead experiment isn’t working too well and I wouldn’t be too upset to see him make an exit from the TEAM.  Team selections are going to play a huge role this week.  Until then, feel free to leave any trade suggestions (if at all) in the Forum below.  Our Coaching Staff will then determine if it’s worth putting to a vote later tonight (Thumbs UP/DOWN).  So if this was your team, what moves would you make?

** UPDATE at 7pm on 27.4.17 **

After running an eye over team selections, I’m going to put out a simple trade poll for this week (‘yes or no’ answer).  Balic has been named and looks the best downgrade option (we already have Z.Fisher).  If we’re to upgrade at all this week, then it looks like Roughy to Buddy is a viable option.  For that to happen, we need enough cash (won’t work with Florent) so Powell-Pepper is on the block.  Kid81 made the suggestion in the Forum below…….so I put the question to the Coaching Staff………should we make the following trades ahead of Rd6 or hold fire this week?

Powell-Pepper to Balic &

Roughead to Franklin

SPP to Balic & Roughy to Buddy - Should the TEAM make these trades ahead of Rd6?

  • YES - Make it so! (69%, 111 Votes)
  • NO - Hold fire for this week (31%, 51 Votes)

Total Voters: 162

  • Luke Dahlhaus (WBD vs Giants) (9%, 29 Votes)

We have a full backline so we have no chance of using a loophole option.  Who starts on the field in DEF?

Who should the TEAM play on-field in DEF? (three choices)

  • Andy Otten (ADE) (33%, 143 Votes)
  • Nic Newman (SYD) (27%, 115 Votes)
  • Caleb Marchbank (CAR) (24%, 105 Votes)
  • Curtly Hampton (ADE) (15%, 66 Votes)
  • Tom Stewart (GEE) (0%, 2 Votes)

Total Voters: 150

  1. Florent looks dead weight so if Balic is in it is cash production time. Roughy and Powell Pwpper need to go for similar reasons.

Hardwick and Balic look most promising of the rooks on the bubble this week.

  2. With no cash it probably doesn’t hurt to go 2 down this week, but might not be viable. Balic is a lock if named. The other probably has to be Hardwick unless we want to go early on someone again (which is both dumb and dangerous).

Maybe just Roughy to Balic and wait for next week and go 1 up 1 down?

  3. I’m playing this week boys. No need to worry.

Chuck the big C on me and watch me work my magic off the half back flank

      1. M8. You bugger off for the early games and then come back a few weeks before your bye.

You didn’t get into the action anywhere near enough in the spanking over Cartlon and thus, have a BE of 122.

I will be all over you like a rash though after you come back from China.

      1. That will send Otten back to the backline, won’t it? He’ll still score well enough, but perhaps not as well as he has been so far.

  4. T/up – Roughead down to Hardwick
    Swallow to any premium Mid

T/down – Swallow to fisher or Balic
    Roughead to Franklin

  5. Im chucking the VC on Shaw this week hoping he can bounce back with a big game and he has done well against the dogs in the past.

  6. Personally not sold on Buddy. Prefer Jeremy Cameron for the same bucks. In form and playing in a top team as well as previous all Australian. A lot to like.

Maybe a Cameron V Buddy pole??

    1. No doubt that he’s getting plenty of it in the GWS forward line. But honestly, your comment is the first time I’ve seen his name mentioned as an option for the TEAM. The poll seems fairly overwhelming at the minute as well. If it was a line-ball decision, I’d probably open up the options further. Until then, Buddy looks like joining the TEAM this week……

      1. The Team already has 6 premium players with R11 byes (Docherty,Murphy,Kennedy,Martin,Dahlhaus and Macrae).
Add to that Marchbank,Newman,Florent,Fisher and Pickett makes 11 all up.
The last thing it needs is another R11 bye player!
My suggestion would be Roughead>JJK who has a R12 bye.
