Yeah thanks guys I appreciate it. Interesting to see if McEvoy goes to Perth. I think he he was stiff to get dropped. Anyone know anything?

McEvoy must have been shagging Lyons’ wife – seems to be the only reason he isn’t playing again, against a team that will have no notable ruckman.

I hopeing to see Lynch, Jacobs in…. and I Smith return!
Also, interested in Higgins…. kind of hoping he’s dropped to buy me some time to trade him out before his price dips further.

Looks like there will be a few SC teams scrambling this week to avoid a few Doughnuts. One bloke in my league has Enright, Gram, Taylor, Sandi, Warnock, Swan, Watson, Smith and Rockliffe. He is two shades of screwed this week.

hey guys, finally cracked it with higgins so he is out this week. Am going to do a double upgrade, just dont know who to bring in atm. Theres so many options!
Money isnt a issue so who which 2 out of these players do you think?
Boyd, Priddis, Chapman, S. Thompson, Ablett
Am going to hold off on Pav and see how he goes without sandi this week
Am leaning towards a combo of boyd, chappy and priddis atm

Just a quick clarification to all those supercoachers out there that are thinking of bringing in Lynch this week. You want to get Tom Lynch from Gold Coast, not Tom Lynch from St Kilda. Both are spelled the same way. Both are listed as a forward. Both have played under 3 games. And both have been named to play this weekend. I wouldn’t have thought many would make that mistake, but you never know.

Not sure why you would want to get rid of Yarran just yet. I haven’t got him, so I don’t know BE etc, but seems to be able to get hunges pretty regularly.
Do you have a mid than can swap with the forwards? (Iles??) If so, you could trade out Matera for another rook, swap Krak to the mids and upgrade to avoid having pittard on the field. If not, maybe consider Illes or Bewick for Mzungu, then swap to the forward line for Krak, and trade in Pav or other prem.
Hope that makes sense.

ok, its poll time. Trading in S.Thompson this week for either:
C.Ward ave. 81, b/e 79
next 3 vs Hawks (ES), Cats (SS), Saints (ES) (Thumbs up)
OR
A.Krakouer ave 79, b/e 61
next 3 vs Eagles, Saints, Demons (all at the G) (Thumbs down)
Leaning towards dumping Ward because of the 45 last week and the tough draw coming up.

For you Gen-Y-ers;
Ecky Thump was a fictional martial art invented by ‘The Goodies’ (Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie) TV show in the ’70′s. Bill revealed himself to be a Grand Master of the infinitely more subtle and superior Lancastrian martial art of Ecky Thump.

Geez….i reckon this round is just as bad as havin a multi bye….alotta players gettin sore this mid season. But not as sore as the headache i’ll be experiencing tryin to DPP the sh*t outta my team to avoid the poisoned doughtnut.
Quik rundown….
*So Cam Pedersen kicks 8 goals in the VFL & Lachie Hansen has a near touchless game against Brisbane…..& Cam still cant get another game???
i have a theory that Brad Scott is an aggressive closet homosexual who wanted to show Pedersen his ‘shinBONER’ only to have his advances rejected. Only logical explanation i can think of. With a B/E of -100, you wouldnt trade him out….yet.
* BIG SANDY is out for a month & if there’s a Zac Smith injury this weekend i can confirm 99% of all supercoaches will smash their TV/computer/radio/iphone.
*Who has the supercoach testicles to put the big C on Ablett?….he will either score a dismal (by his standards) 70 or 80 points or absolutely rip it up at home with another 190+ performance against a tired but still great Geelong side. Only a star like Ablett can beat the odds. Maybe Massive is a safer bet. Oh a commentators dream… “Cox runs into Sidebottom but slips the tackle only to be confronted by Goldsack”.
* We might get to see Mzunga play a full game which only leaves Ian Callinan as the only cheap rookie DPP left worth getting….& its only round 10! if that european midget Dion Prestia F/M comes good he’s still priced at $176,900.
Not really liking this round….should be better next week when Port has the bye & everyone will pretty much have maximum scoring potential (unless you literally have a sh*t load of Power players).
Sooo Good luck fellow coaches…..may all your ruck coverage….be good coverage

Hey guys just wondering on your thoughts of McKernan playing and when does the Sunday teams get confirmed?
Like or Dislike:

McKernan is killing me. DPP twin with Bob O’Murphy. I’m thinking to get Jacobs in for McKernan but that leaves Murphy stranded in the forward line with no DPP. Alternative is to go Toy > Jacobs.
Also going Tapscott out for Lynch (of the Gold Coast variety).
So should I:
Ecky up: Double down and get both Lynch and Jacobs
Ecky down: Forget Jacobs and upgrade Swallow to Chapman

How long are we going to hear that about Hansen? and McMahon’s lack of discipline last week is the sort of thing that saps a team’s spirit and undermines the coach’s message.

With 14 trades left you are in a fantastic position to trade aggressively to stay with the top 20. I’m assuming you’ve already traded for this week, if not it would be great strategy to trade out Sandi enabling you to fund 3 upgrades of Danger/Krak/Cotchin/Heppell over 2 weeks.
Pity you’ve got all 5 D/M DPPs in Def with none in the Mids.
Attacking now is the only way to stay in touch so good luck Jacky boy.

Cheers for the advice, yeah I have traded already as no time to do it tomorrow. I can’t bring myself to trade Sandi. Cant do it! Saw him score big last year for all my mates teams the whole season. I was just going to wait and keep cotchin and Danger for good and trade heppel and krakour in the next few weeks. Will just wait and see. The D/M DPPs has screwed me a little

With 14 trades left you can easily trade him back in after the bye as you have some very fat cows. Have a look at the top 50 teams after this week – I guarantee over half will not have him and with $450K invested into upgrades they can make up ~60ppg on you while he’s out leaving you gone for overall.
Last time I looked $50K doesn’t grow on trees so its the age old adage – high risk = high reward.
There’s no way Cotchin/Danger will end up in the top 6/7 Mids/Fwds so to have a chance of winning I would think you’ll have to upgrade them to premiums asap.

Jacko, if I were you I’d do nothing this week. Next week though, I’d go Harris >> Mzungu and Krakouer >> Chappy, then with the left over cash the week after go Dangerfield/Darling >> Sylvia/Goodes. Then relax for 3-4 weeks. Good team mate.

I like the look of that Yiorgakis. I have already traded this round so far, bit cautious of chappy as bye in finals but all else looks good. Didn’t think this supercoach could be so addictive! My misses thinks I am doing work
Like or Dislike:

Yep, saw that after I posted. Chappy is always a risk, but with the lack of consistency with the fwds this year, I took the plunge. Unfortunately I chose to trade him in 3 weeks ago over Sylvia when Chappy was $540k odd and Sylvia was around $430k. Then Chappy proceeds to produce an 85 and then a 70 (the 112 last week was a welcome relief) and is worth $467k now while Sylvia is worth $488k.
I don’t have Sandi, but if I did I wouldn’t be trading him out.

Query Jacko – you have six D/M players in your defence and none in midfield.
Why?
I am picking up Jacobs and maybe Priddis this week
BACKS: Deledio, Shaw, Fisher, Heppell, Gibbs, Broughton, Lower, Stanley, Batchelor, Hibberd
MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Boyd, Goddard, Goodes, Libba, Swallow, Harris, Prestia
I am thinking of trading Swallow and Prestia/Libba so that I can have D/M flexibility, even though my mids are better cash cows than Batchelor and Stanley.
Is that a bad call?

Interested in peoples thoughts for a Tapscott upgrade target. I currently have Buddy, RO’K and N Riewoldt (i have others, none are doing that sensationally for me). Good day to all,
Last thoughts on the Sandilands issue. Whilst I was still keen on trading him, it’s more really out of the need for a bit of extra cash (and ruck flexibility). I’ll be trading Tapscott –> Lynch, which should give me about $150,000 in the bank (not quite enough to do a decent upgrade).
As such, I’m thinking of trading Josh Fraser –> Joel Tippett. I started with Fraser as my R3 (Z. Smith as R4), but Smith is still firing, and if I bring Tippett in, then I can use Petrie as a backup to Cox & Smith.
Doing this trade down should put my bank balance up to about $300K … more than enough to assist with a few decent premium upgrades over the coming weeks.
Thoughts? Comments would be appreciated,.
Thumbs UP to ditch Fraser
Thumbs DOWN to ditch Sandilands
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Without seeing your fwds/rucks you have a good side Mike. I’d be inclined to trade out one of your back rookies. You have BJ and Goodes in the mids so you should really be looking to get them back to the Backs/Fwds respectively for your final setup.
Also depending on your situation (league or overall) it may be worth looking at a double downgrade this week. Lynch from GC looks a good get. Mzungu also will be a popular target. If your going for a league win like 97% of us then building some cash in the next 2 weeks may be the way to go if you can get away with it.

Dislike on the Prestia front. I, like you, have had Prestia filling a space all season and been reluctant to trade him due to his DPP. He’s been selected this week so his price will jump. At worst, keep him for a week before you burn him for Tendai or possibly keep him til his price rises even further.
On another front, i’m SuperCoach bored. Done my two trades (Swallow >> Jacobs & Tapscott >> The Pav), sorted out my C and VC (Selwood & Big Cox) and sorted out my three emergencies. Also, placed my couple of bets for the weekend. Now what?? Do i really have to go and get some work done now?? Argh!!!!

Same RB. I’ve found that my life is quite boring once the teams come out and all of the posturing during the week comes out in the trades made column. This week did Toy->Adcock and Higgins->Priddis. Now got to do 1 weeks worth of work in 1 day then spend time with the missus, so I lose on 2 fronts. Maybe I convince her that I have to work the whole weekend and then just watch the footy from there.

Trade out McKernan/Markovic for Jacobs to fund the upgrade of another rookie type (Libba, Harris, Atley) into Goddard. Switch Goddard with Jacobs/Heppell into the backs and you’re set. Buying Goddard at his price is a must if you don’t have him.

What do people think of a fully stocked team come round 18 (post hawks bye) with Heppell and Petrie on the bench as super subs for my D/M and R/F lines? I’ve done a little bit of planning and it looks like this is a definite possibility, leaving me with 6 trades for injuries and finals.

I’m doing a similer thing. After round 13 I’ll have only Darling and Lower as players to up-grade with 9 trades left. With decent bench coverage on each line with Stanley, Jacobs, Pupuolo Def, Harris and Smith Mid, Krakouer, Mzungu and Lynch Fwd with Petrie MPP covering the ruck I will only make trades for LTIs. Allowing 3-4 injuries that leaves 5-6 trades for finals and upgrades. Having said that it only takes one week to screw it all up!

If you want a more consistant score then Chappy over Stevie J for sure. He should generally get you between 100 & 160 wheras there’s a lot more chance of Stevie J pulling in between 70 & 150. DPP just adds the cream on the choice for me. PS, i currently have Stevie J over Chappy but that was a pre-Rd 1 choice due to pre-season doubts.

MID: Mundy, Pendles, Pav, JSelwood, Libba, Krakouer
(Heppell, Harris, Hibberd)
RUC: COX, ZSmith (Sandi, JTippett)

(Tapscott, Matera, Richardson)
-16 trades (yet to trade this week)
-$504k in the bank
-Ranked 1,124 overall but going for a league win.
Tough opponent this week, easy few next weeks.
I’m thinking double trade this week, then the team should be stable for a few weeks.
Currently thinking:
Tapscott -> Lynch
Higgins -> Fyfe
That leave me 14 trades and $556k in the bank

Thanks TSNW, I love that little guy! (although am getting close to changing my name to Jeffey Garlett!!!!)
As for the trades, I could definitely be stonger up back, i’m just a bit worried that Higgins will continue to stink it up, not play and leak money – thus be less valuable when he needs to be traded anyway. So if league win is the goal, my thinking is that those guys in the back will continue to make some cash or at least hold their value. Then in a few weeks i’ll start trading again, i’ll have cash and it’l be upgrade city! especially once a few more LTIs show up.

Adding a Carlton player is going to put more stress on your team come finals time HGL. During the final four rounds of the year Adelaide play Geelong at home, GC away, Tiges at home and then WC away. Anyone remember who Port’s sub was last week?
Pretty sure Jacobs was in his first game, but started last week. Not sure whether to bring him in.
Tapscott –> Lynch
Grimes –> Adcock
OR
Tapscott –> Lynch
Luke Thompson –> Jacobs
OR
Luke Thompson –> Jacobs
Grimes –> Adcock
Option #2 seems the most sensible as Lynch and Jacobs look like good future cash cows, and generally as the season goes on it’s slim picking in terms of cash cows, good cash cows that is.
But I really want more premiums!
If I do option #2, I will most like upgrade Grimes to Adcock and Swallow to Priddis/Swan.
Thoughts? Option #1, #2 or #3?
Then I’ll only have Duigan, Krakouer and Petrie left to upgrade with 13 trades left. Keeping Darling, and will have to get rid of Heppell later in the year because of the finals bye.

Yeah slim picking makes me say option 2, both should fatten up nicely. Especially if you have the league win in the bag.
Then double upgrade next week like you said

Consistency= Thompson
MASSIVE scores (and the occassional downer)= Fyfe

I’d go Fyfe for big points in the forward line (priceless) and save some extra coin and bring in one of the top four or five mids

Thanks guys, its been Fyfe in my head all week, but just saw Thompsons stats, be/etc and he’s looking good this week. But come to think of it he’d probably take up the last place in my mids that Boyd might be better for in a few weeks.
So i’m leaning towards trading Fyfe into my forward line for higgins.

I went with Thompson but its only because I already have Fyfe.
Been very happy with Fyfe so go for him

Fellas I’m in a dilemma and need some advise….
Below is my team….
Backs) Lids Goddard Gibbs Shaw Broughton Suckling Puopolo
Heppell Mckernan Toy
Mids) Swan Boys Selwood Burgoyne Harris Krak
Swallow Iles Bewick
Forwards) Buddy Goodes N.Roo Rioli Stevie J Yarran Darling
Tapscott Richardson Prestia
17 trades left
15k in the bank
My first trade is Swallow – Jacobs for DPP relief
I want to strengthen my mids but if I replace krak also I lose my fprward DPP unless I get a Pav Sylvia Fyfe…..
If I downgrade Tapscott to Lynch then I cant get Jacobs in…..
Or bite the buller on burger????
Any wisdom on what you would do here would be greatly appreciated….

id go
swallow to jacobs
krak to a premium (whoever you can afford)
next week you cajn always trade in Mzungu for DPP flexibility with your forwards. this way you get a dedicated midfielder as well as flexibility

Thanks Cam,
Issue I have is I’ll have no decent midfield cash cows left next week to bring Mzungu into my mids …Iles wont have peaked enough Bewick is worth nothing …a trade just for DPP purposes is a waste IMO…thats where Im stuck
I think my only choice is to go for pavlich or sylvia for krakour…..

I’m in the same boat as ya mate, i can either get jacobs for a rookie and then upgrade higgins or go tappy>lynch then upgrade higgins to a gun mid. I really want DPP (def/mid) in me mids too. What im thinking of doing is getting jacobs NEXT week bcoz he’ll be around 150k i guess, and ill swap him in for libba. im stuck in a pickle too mate.

Guys is DPP that important this year with 3 on the bench….If I upgrade Krak my preference would be Priddis Ablett Thompson do you think going Pavlich is a compromise for DPP or should I ditch the DPP all together and go for one of the above 3

Gday Fellas,
Downgrading D.Swallow this week so I can upgrade to Big Cox.
Whats your thoughts on either T.Mzungu or I.Smith…
Both give good flexibitiliy through DPP and Smith is only a Test for soreness so should be back next week.
Any help pleasE?

Giving some really strange scores. I’ve got Gibbs who they’ve given a donut to so far and my opponent has Duigan with 2 and Yarran with 7.
Another game is giving Judd 32 in one team and Judd 16 in the other team. Be a bit disappointed to lose that one.
WTF?
