Yeah thanks guys I appreciate it. Interesting to see if McEvoy goes to Perth. I think he he was stiff to get dropped. Anyone know anything?

Reply

Brad May 26, 2011 at 5:31 pm

McEvoy must have been shagging Lyons’ wife – seems to be the only reason he isn’t playing again, against a team that will have no notable ruckman.

Reply

Big Sexy May 26, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I hopeing to see Lynch, Jacobs in…. and I Smith return!

Also, interested in Higgins…. kind of hoping he’s dropped to buy me some time to trade him out before his price dips further.

Mumford’s out with a knee injury.

Want Lake back in, and in form.

Can pick him up cheap.

Reply

He’ll be a cheap option next year. ;)

gee big cox is the only genuine scoring ruckmen running around this week all the big names dropped off like flies

Reply

Roo Bloke May 26, 2011 at 5:57 pm

Petrie and Smith will both crack the ton this week

Reply

juddy May 26, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Looks like there will be a few SC teams scrambling this week to avoid a few Doughnuts. One bloke in my league has Enright, Gram, Taylor, Sandi, Warnock, Swan, Watson, Smith and Rockliffe. He is two shades of screwed this week.

Big Sexy May 26, 2011 at 5:15 pm

Rucks descimated this week across the board!

Brad May 26, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Do you think Swan will play?

On top of all the other big outs, could make for some upsets this week. Hopefully the sneakies can get over The Big Sexy like they got over PA last week (diff league)!

Reply

Jack May 26, 2011 at 5:49 pm

Isaac Smith isn’t playing? Is he really that badly injured?

Reply

Willo May 26, 2011 at 5:54 pm

If Hawthorn lost last week he’d be back in.
I also have him, he deserves to come back in, gives them some run.

Reply

Jack May 26, 2011 at 6:50 pm

i don’t have him, I was planning to downgrade to him this week but yeah…not picked.

have to decide whether to pick another rookie or hold off!

Reply

Is Swan a possible out?

Reply

Can’t decide who to get, lynch or Jacobs???????

Reply

Rustee May 26, 2011 at 6:11 pm

About time Cowan was named he is a huge talent

Reply

Big Sexy May 26, 2011 at 6:16 pm

Agree Rustee, I saw Cowan in a practice match against the Blues and thought he and Duigan were the stand-out rookies…. That said, I think Menzel is a gun of the future.

Reply

Rustee May 26, 2011 at 6:24 pm

Yeah definately, Duncan, Menzel and Cowan are going to be stars for Geelong in the future. btw have you noticed how much Cowan looks like Scarlett?

Reply

Rustee May 26, 2011 at 6:26 pm

+ Vardy

Reply

Big Sexy May 26, 2011 at 7:20 pm

On the flip side, I reckon Christensen looks like rubbish…. Very surprised he wasn’t dropped earlier…. He’s the turnover king.

Rustee May 26, 2011 at 7:56 pm

Yeah i think he was just there for speed to be honest.

Jimmy May 26, 2011 at 6:13 pm

hey guys, finally cracked it with higgins so he is out this week. Am going to do a double upgrade, just dont know who to bring in atm. Theres so many options!

Money isnt a issue so who which 2 out of these players do you think?

Boyd, Priddis, Chapman, S. Thompson, Ablett

Am going to hold off on Pav and see how he goes without sandi this week

Am leaning towards a combo of boyd, chappy and priddis atm

Reply

Bender May 26, 2011 at 6:18 pm

Just a quick clarification to all those supercoachers out there that are thinking of bringing in Lynch this week. You want to get Tom Lynch from Gold Coast, not Tom Lynch from St Kilda. Both are spelled the same way. Both are listed as a forward. Both have played under 3 games. And both have been named to play this weekend. I wouldn’t have thought many would make that mistake, but you never know.

Reply

Roo Bloke May 26, 2011 at 6:21 pm

Grab both and get Alistair as well.

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 8:44 pm

Then you’d have a Lynch mob RB.

Reply

Roo Bloke May 26, 2011 at 10:48 pm

there’s not much you say that i smile at Omen but i like your style on this occassion

Reply

Big Sexy May 26, 2011 at 7:59 pm

It’s Lynch from GC, has been flying and will get nice price hike even if he has a stinker….. Lynch for Saints is ave at best

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 8:44 pm

FanFooty mixed them up.

Reply

Bender May 26, 2011 at 9:19 pm

A lot of people did the same with Stanley at the start of the year, picking J. Stanley instead of D. Stanley.

Reply

gimmeguitars May 26, 2011 at 10:36 pm

Saints also have Rhys Stanley in the ruck or occasionally up forward..

Reply

Max May 26, 2011 at 6:29 pm

Will go

Stanley- Jacobs
Krakouer- Priddis

thoughts?

Reply

MJ May 26, 2011 at 9:20 pm

Same, but I’ll go Krakouer > Hodge because I can’t afford anyone above $512,000 odd. This is the game he hits form in my books.

Reply

Brad May 26, 2011 at 8:20 pm

Not sure why you would want to get rid of Yarran just yet. I haven’t got him, so I don’t know BE etc, but seems to be able to get hunges pretty regularly.

Do you have a mid than can swap with the forwards? (Iles??) If so, you could trade out Matera for another rook, swap Krak to the mids and upgrade to avoid having pittard on the field. If not, maybe consider Illes or Bewick for Mzungu, then swap to the forward line for Krak, and trade in Pav or other prem.

Hope that makes sense.

Keatz May 26, 2011 at 6:49 pm

I was thinking the exact same max, either that or tappy to lynch
Krak to Montags

anyone know an estimate of how much Lynch (Gold Coast) will go up in price?
Thanks.

Reply

Rustee May 26, 2011 at 7:06 pm

If he gets his average mate, he will go to around $213,741

If you wanna check other predicted price rises go to TooSerious they are pretty good with that, then press on stats, go to the team and select the player

Reply

Yiorgakis May 26, 2011 at 7:04 pm

ok, its poll time. Trading in S.Thompson this week for either:

C.Ward ave. 81, b/e 79
next 3 vs Hawks (ES), Cats (SS), Saints (ES) (Thumbs up)
OR
A.Krakouer ave 79, b/e 61
next 3 vs Eagles, Saints, Demons (all at the G) (Thumbs down)

Leaning towards dumping Ward because of the 45 last week and the tough draw coming up.

Thoughts?

Tossing up between:

Marc Murphy- vs melb, prob get the main tag after a great week and Judd under an injury cloud.

Scott Thompson- vs lions, great form and vs an easy team.

Can I get a thumps up for murphy and thumps down for thommo

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 8:58 pm

Is that a thump as in Ecky Thump?

For you Gen-Y-ers;
Ecky Thump was a fictional martial art invented by ‘The Goodies’ (Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie) TV show in the ’70’s. Bill revealed himself to be a Grand Master of the infinitely more subtle and superior Lancastrian martial art of Ecky Thump.

If you’ve never seen the Goodies, you’ve never lived.

Bender May 26, 2011 at 11:07 pm

Tom Lynch from STK hasn’t played a game this year yet and played just one game last year for 10 SC points. Dunno if he got injured or just had a shite game, so have a look at him for a couple of games before trading him in.

Reply

Cam- formerly known as Cameron May 26, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Tom lynch is the one who plays forward for gold coast and is averaging close to 90 over his first 2 games.

Reply

Hockey two already has the Gold Coast Tom Lynch. He is now looking at getting the other Tom Lynch who plays for St Kilda, but is yet to play a game this year.

Other way round sorry. I have the saints one who has played 1 match.

BLeeDiNg ReD & BLaCK May 26, 2011 at 8:36 pm

Geez….i reckon this round is just as bad as havin a multi bye….alotta players gettin sore this mid season. But not as sore as the headache i’ll be experiencing tryin to DPP the sh*t outta my team to avoid the poisoned doughtnut.

Quik rundown….
*So Cam Pedersen kicks 8 goals in the VFL & Lachie Hansen has a near touchless game against Brisbane…..& Cam still cant get another game???
i have a theory that Brad Scott is an aggressive closet homosexual who wanted to show Pedersen his ‘shinBONER’ only to have his advances rejected. Only logical explanation i can think of. With a B/E of -100, you wouldnt trade him out….yet.
* BIG SANDY is out for a month & if there’s a Zac Smith injury this weekend i can confirm 99% of all supercoaches will smash their TV/computer/radio/iphone.
*Who has the supercoach testicles to put the big C on Ablett?….he will either score a dismal (by his standards) 70 or 80 points or absolutely rip it up at home with another 190+ performance against a tired but still great Geelong side. Only a star like Ablett can beat the odds. Maybe Massive is a safer bet. Oh a commentators dream… “Cox runs into Sidebottom but slips the tackle only to be confronted by Goldsack”.
* We might get to see Mzunga play a full game which only leaves Ian Callinan as the only cheap rookie DPP left worth getting….& its only round 10! if that european midget Dion Prestia F/M comes good he’s still priced at $176,900.

Not really liking this round….should be better next week when Port has the bye & everyone will pretty much have maximum scoring potential (unless you literally have a sh*t load of Power players).

Sooo Good luck fellow coaches…..may all your ruck coverage….be good coverage :)

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 9:06 pm

Geelong can afford to have 3 tags on Ablett. You’d expect they’d be keen to make sure he doesn’t have a big impact on the game.

Reply

Bender May 26, 2011 at 9:39 pm

Richmond have the bye next week, not Port Adelaide.

Reply

BLeeDiNg ReD & BLaCK May 26, 2011 at 11:16 pm

lol Good call bender….only postive from my mistake is if one supercoacher puts B. Jacobs on the bench & leaves Deledio/Riewoldt on the field, then we all move up in the overall rankings

Bender May 26, 2011 at 11:22 pm

Haha, should’ve kept my mouth closed then.

Otherwise I’m looking at S. Thompson or Priddis.
S. Thompson if I want cash for Buddy next week, Priddis if I don’t (can afford to save trades next few weeks with easy league games).
Also want Boyd but price should drop some more this week so I’ll hold off I think

Thumbs Up: Ablett
Thumbs Down: S. Thompson or Priddis

mbazaluk May 26, 2011 at 9:44 pm

Went with Thompson in the end, decided that I need to conserve cash as much as possible and a player of avg 113 is good enough for me. Will still look at Priddis or Boyd for future but price shouldn’t change much these few weeks so I don’t mind.

If i trade thompson it will spare me an extra 50K but i will cop a dount
If i trade toy i will lose 50K but obviously wont cop a donut.
Thumbs up-thompson
Thumbs down-toy

If you’re playing for league wins and can afford the donut in your game this week then thompson.
If you have a tough game or mainly care about overall ranking then toy

Hey guys just wondering on your thoughts of McKernan playing and when does the Sunday teams get confirmed?

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 9:45 pm

McKernan is killing me. DPP twin with Bob O’Murphy. I’m thinking to get Jacobs in for McKernan but that leaves Murphy stranded in the forward line with no DPP. Alternative is to go Toy > Jacobs.

Also going Tapscott out for Lynch (of the Gold Coast variety).

So should I:
Ecky up: Double down and get both Lynch and Jacobs
Ecky down: Forget Jacobs and upgrade Swallow to Chapman

Reply

Omen May 26, 2011 at 9:48 pm

Sorry Superboy, that didn’t answer your question. Sunday teams will be after lock so too late to change. McKernan is a sub risk even if he is named. I wouldn’t have in in the starting 22. Give him the E if you have no other option.

Petrie is playing against a very ordinary Swans defence and no Mummy. If I had to pick between the two I’d go with the Dish.

Supertony May 26, 2011 at 9:56 pm

Yeah but with the heppell, enright and otten out my only chance is Mckernan, tough round for everybody all we need now is Swan to be a late withdraw lol

My team is as for this round: Have 14 trades left after this round.

B: Deledio, Adcock, goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Lower, Puopolo
(Heppel, Jacobs, hibbered)

C: Swan, Pendles, Boyd, Priddis, Cotchin, Sewood (c),
(libba, Harris, Smith)

R: Cox, Smith
(sandi, Campbell)

F: Buddy, Pav, O’keefe, N Roo, Dangerfield, Darling, Krakour
(Matera, richardson, Siposs)

Reply

deano May 27, 2011 at 10:11 am

How long are we going to hear that about Hansen? and McMahon’s lack of discipline last week is the sort of thing that saps a team’s spirit and undermines the coach’s message.
McMahon out; Richardson in
Hansen out; Pederson in.

deano May 26, 2011 at 11:09 pm

With 14 trades left you are in a fantastic position to trade aggressively to stay with the top 20. I’m assuming you’ve already traded for this week, if not it would be great strategy to trade out Sandi enabling you to fund 3 upgrades of Danger/Krak/Cotchin/Heppell over 2 weeks.
Pity you’ve got all 5 D/M DPPs in Def with none in the Mids.
Attacking now is the only way to stay in touch so good luck Jacky boy.

Reply

Jacko May 26, 2011 at 11:15 pm

Cheers for the advice, yeah I have traded already as no time to do it tomorrow. I can’t bring myself to trade Sandi. Cant do it! Saw him score big last year for all my mates teams the whole season. I was just going to wait and keep cotchin and Danger for good and trade heppel and krakour in the next few weeks. Will just wait and see. The D/M DPPs has screwed me a little

Reply

deano May 26, 2011 at 11:27 pm

With 14 trades left you can easily trade him back in after the bye as you have some very fat cows. Have a look at the top 50 teams after this week – I guarantee over half will not have him and with $450K invested into upgrades they can make up ~60ppg on you while he’s out leaving you gone for overall.
Last time I looked $50K doesn’t grow on trees so its the age old adage – high risk = high reward.
There’s no way Cotchin/Danger will end up in the top 6/7 Mids/Fwds so to have a chance of winning I would think you’ll have to upgrade them to premiums asap.

Reply

Jacko May 26, 2011 at 11:40 pm

point taken deano, and it makes sense! I have a lot of planning to do for next week! so trade sandi out next week for who?

Yiorgakis May 26, 2011 at 11:18 pm

Jacko, if I were you I’d do nothing this week. Next week though, I’d go Harris >> Mzungu and Krakouer >> Chappy, then with the left over cash the week after go Dangerfield/Darling >> Sylvia/Goodes. Then relax for 3-4 weeks. Good team mate.

Reply

Jacko May 26, 2011 at 11:31 pm

I like the look of that Yiorgakis. I have already traded this round so far, bit cautious of chappy as bye in finals but all else looks good. Didn’t think this supercoach could be so addictive! My misses thinks I am doing work

Reply

Yiorgakis May 26, 2011 at 11:49 pm

Yep, saw that after I posted. Chappy is always a risk, but with the lack of consistency with the fwds this year, I took the plunge. Unfortunately I chose to trade him in 3 weeks ago over Sylvia when Chappy was $540k odd and Sylvia was around $430k. Then Chappy proceeds to produce an 85 and then a 70 (the 112 last week was a welcome relief) and is worth $467k now while Sylvia is worth $488k.

I don’t have Sandi, but if I did I wouldn’t be trading him out.

Reply

Mike May 27, 2011 at 9:05 am

Query Jacko – you have six D/M players in your defence and none in midfield.
Why?
I am picking up Jacobs and maybe Priddis this week

BACKS: Deledio, Shaw, Fisher, Heppell, Gibbs, Broughton, Lower, Stanley, Batchelor, Hibberd
MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Boyd, Goddard, Goodes, Libba, Swallow, Harris, Prestia

I am thinking of trading Swallow and Prestia/Libba so that I can have D/M flexibility, even though my mids are better cash cows than Batchelor and Stanley.
Is that a bad call?

Yiorgakis May 27, 2011 at 11:54 am

Haha, yeah me neither Mike. But you gotta take a chance. I figure if I can get 10-20 points extra out of Chappy, avoid injury, finish top 4, marry a supermodel and win tattslotto, it will all be worthwhile!

Good day to all,

Last thoughts on the Sandilands issue. Whilst I was still keen on trading him, it’s more really out of the need for a bit of extra cash (and ruck flexibility). I’ll be trading Tapscott –> Lynch, which should give me about $150,000 in the bank (not quite enough to do a decent upgrade).

As such, I’m thinking of trading Josh Fraser –> Joel Tippett. I started with Fraser as my R3 (Z. Smith as R4), but Smith is still firing, and if I bring Tippett in, then I can use Petrie as a backup to Cox & Smith.

Doing this trade down should put my bank balance up to about $300K … more than enough to assist with a few decent premium upgrades over the coming weeks.

Thoughts? Comments would be appreciated,.

Thumbs UP to ditch Fraser
Thumbs DOWN to ditch Sandilands

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

BACKS: Deledio, Shaw, Fisher, Heppell, Gibbs, Broughton, Lower, Stanley, Batchelor, Hibberd
MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Boyd, Goddard, Goodes, Libba, Swallow, Harris, Prestia
138k in bank.
Swallow is gone for Priddis/Pendles.
Want Jacobs
Should I go downgrade Libba/Prestia for more D/M flexibility? Thumbs up
Or, save Mid cash cows and downgrade Batchelor/Stanley. Thumbs down

coops May 27, 2011 at 9:31 am

Without seeing your fwds/rucks you have a good side Mike. I’d be inclined to trade out one of your back rookies. You have BJ and Goodes in the mids so you should really be looking to get them back to the Backs/Fwds respectively for your final setup.
Also depending on your situation (league or overall) it may be worth looking at a double downgrade this week. Lynch from GC looks a good get. Mzungu also will be a popular target. If your going for a league win like 97% of us then building some cash in the next 2 weeks may be the way to go if you can get away with it.

Reply

Roo Bloke May 27, 2011 at 9:37 am

Dislike on the Prestia front. I, like you, have had Prestia filling a space all season and been reluctant to trade him due to his DPP. He’s been selected this week so his price will jump. At worst, keep him for a week before you burn him for Tendai or possibly keep him til his price rises even further.

On another front, i’m SuperCoach bored. Done my two trades (Swallow >> Jacobs & Tapscott >> The Pav), sorted out my C and VC (Selwood & Big Cox) and sorted out my three emergencies. Also, placed my couple of bets for the weekend. Now what?? Do i really have to go and get some work done now?? Argh!!!!

Reply

juddy May 27, 2011 at 10:48 am

Same RB. I’ve found that my life is quite boring once the teams come out and all of the posturing during the week comes out in the trades made column. This week did Toy->Adcock and Higgins->Priddis. Now got to do 1 weeks worth of work in 1 day then spend time with the missus, so I lose on 2 fronts. Maybe I convince her that I have to work the whole weekend and then just watch the footy from there.

Reply

Mike May 27, 2011 at 9:21 am

Following the above, I’m leaning towards Mids.
Jacobs to Prestia? Thumbs up
Jacobs to Libba? Thumbs down
(Got Lynch, Smith in forwards, Mzungu in for Tapscott next week)

Reply

coops May 27, 2011 at 9:37 am

I’d go Libba as you have enough coverage on the bench in the mids. If Prestia gets a run of games then he has the more upside in him.

What do people think of a fully stocked team come round 18 (post hawks bye) with Heppell and Petrie on the bench as super subs for my D/M and R/F lines? I’ve done a little bit of planning and it looks like this is a definite possibility, leaving me with 6 trades for injuries and finals.

Reply

CarlSpackler May 27, 2011 at 3:07 pm

I’m doing a similer thing. After round 13 I’ll have only Darling and Lower as players to up-grade with 9 trades left. With decent bench coverage on each line with Stanley, Jacobs, Pupuolo Def, Harris and Smith Mid, Krakouer, Mzungu and Lynch Fwd with Petrie MPP covering the ruck I will only make trades for LTIs. Allowing 3-4 injuries that leaves 5-6 trades for finals and upgrades. Having said that it only takes one week to screw it all up!

I’ve had Johnson from day 1 as a Point of Difference from the masses, as Chappy was a little under injury cloud and expensive and am quite happy with him so far. Would prefer to have Chappy though if given the choice to buy right now at their current prices.

Reply

AndyB May 27, 2011 at 1:24 pm

If you want a more consistant score then Chappy over Stevie J for sure. He should generally get you between 100 & 160 wheras there’s a lot more chance of Stevie J pulling in between 70 & 150. DPP just adds the cream on the choice for me. PS, i currently have Stevie J over Chappy but that was a pre-Rd 1 choice due to pre-season doubts.

footyfan May 27, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Thx guys…just to clarify…ROK is in the mid with I Smith…and BAM Fyfe is DPP too so have stacks of options…my thoughts are very similar to yours Andy…especially with current prices (and form)

trading toy for jacobs

and tapscott for lynch

will save cash and upgrade swallow next week to a premium

will leave me with 10 trades left, and will have 16 premiums.

thoughts?

You’d like to have more trades, but i reckon that’s decent if your rookies are all playing. Pray for no injuries!!

Reply

Mike May 27, 2011 at 1:56 pm

138k in the bank.
MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Boyd, Goddard, Goodes Libba, Swallow, Harris, Prestia
FWD: NRoo, JRoo, Pav, Buddy, Rioli, Darling, tapscott, Matera, Lynch, I Smith
Not guaranteed top 4, so Chappy bye is relevant

Swallow to Priddis/Abblet – Thumbs Up
Swallow to Chappy – thumbs Down

OK, this is the first time i’ve posted the team sin Rate My Team pre round1
Here it is:
DEF:Deliedio, Adcock, Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Lower, Puopolo
(Stanley, McKernan, Toy)
MID: Mundy, Pendles, Pav, JSelwood, Libba, Krakouer
(Heppell, Harris, Hibberd)
RUC: COX, ZSmith (Sandi, JTippett)
FWD: Buddy, Boomer, Goodes, NRoo, Darling, Petrie, Higgins
(Tapscott, Matera, Richardson)

-16 trades (yet to trade this week)
-$504k in the bank
-Ranked 1,124 overall but going for a league win.
Tough opponent this week, easy few next weeks.
I’m thinking double trade this week, then the team should be stable for a few weeks.

Currently thinking:
Tapscott -> Lynch
Higgins -> Fyfe

That leave me 14 trades and $556k in the bank
Tempted to double upgrade, but I think the cash will be of better use for my later trades.

What do you think? I think I like it!
Its a lot of Freo, is there anyone better i should be looking at?
I’d love you thoughts…

TeamStillNeedsWork May 27, 2011 at 2:23 pm

Nice team and nice name Eddie Betts!!! :)

I would personally try and upgrade that last spot in your backline. Upgrade either Pupuolo, Stanley, McKernan or Toy.

So still go with the tapscott trade but leave higgins and upgrade one of the mentioned above to a premium??

Reply

Eddie Betts!!! May 27, 2011 at 2:31 pm

Thanks TSNW, I love that little guy! (although am getting close to changing my name to Jeffey Garlett!!!!)

As for the trades, I could definitely be stonger up back, i’m just a bit worried that Higgins will continue to stink it up, not play and leak money – thus be less valuable when he needs to be traded anyway. So if league win is the goal, my thinking is that those guys in the back will continue to make some cash or at least hold their value. Then in a few weeks i’ll start trading again, i’ll have cash and it’l be upgrade city! especially once a few more LTIs show up.

tough choices…

Tapscott -> Lynch
Higgins -> M. Murphy

Or do switch Krak fwd and Higgins into the mids so i can trade Higgins for SThonmpson?

Thompson or Fyfe this week for the team above?

Reply

TeamStillNeedsWork May 27, 2011 at 2:19 pm

Enright I hate you! Not only have you been underperforming the last few weeks but now you are out with “Soreness”. Not good enough! Was even temped to trade you out for Delidio or Adcock – who I both dont have becuase I chose you at the start of the year over them!

Anyways sorry just had to get that out. Backline is looking pretty weak this weekend with Heppell and Ensack sitting on the pine.

I traded out Tapscott for T Lynch from GC and then traded Curnow to Hodge.

Bench cover in middle now with Harris just in case Swan doesnt play. No emergency in the backline this week is a worry. Hoping Suckling plays!

Happy Go Lucky May 27, 2011 at 2:19 pm

I have narrowed the choice to either S.Thompson av 113 $475k or M.Murphy av 114 502k.
Who should I grab? up thommo down smurf

Reply

Bender May 27, 2011 at 2:59 pm

Adding a Carlton player is going to put more stress on your team come finals time HGL. During the final four rounds of the year Adelaide play Geelong at home, GC away, Tiges at home and then WC away. Not the easiest of runs but i’d take that over Carlton’s freo away, hawthorn, bye and then the saints.

Reply

Leo Messi May 27, 2011 at 4:26 pm

Good luck to you too mate..It should be a cracker…..I voted Thompson above …only reason the carlton bye…but very tough call…Murphs would be more consistent over the journey IMO though

Reply

Fishtopher May 27, 2011 at 4:24 pm

You gonna get three of those four Leo?

Reply

Leo Messi May 27, 2011 at 4:35 pm

I’d love two to get my goalscoring record back for the year Fishtopher but ultimately I’ll just take a win…..

Go s Thompson he’s the best scorer in adelaide while Murphy will share points with Judd Gibbs etc.. Plus s Thompson is unique and as a better run home

Reply

Eddie Betts!!! May 27, 2011 at 2:35 pm

oh, sorry i read that as robert murphy for some reason. I’d probably go MMurph. both capable of having a cracker, but Murph has less potential downside on a bad day.

Reply

Foxy Redlegs May 27, 2011 at 2:38 pm

That’s what I thought. Buddy’s due for a shocker, it’s Murphy’s consistency that has me leaning towards him. FYI I don’t have Selwood – he’d be a monty for captain otherwise.

Anyone remember who Port’s sub was last week?
Pretty sure Jacobs was in his first game, but started last week. Not sure whether to bring him in.
Tapscott –> Lynch
Grimes –> Adcock
OR
Tapscott –> Lynch
Luke Thompson –> Jacobs
OR
Luke Thompson –> Jacobs
Grimes –> Adcock

Option #2 seems the most sensible as Lynch and Jacobs look like good future cash cows, and generally as the season goes on it’s slim picking in terms of cash cows, good cash cows that is.
But I really want more premiums!
If I do option #2, I will most like upgrade Grimes to Adcock and Swallow to Priddis/Swan.
Thoughts? Option #1, #2 or #3?
Then I’ll only have Duigan, Krakouer and Petrie left to upgrade with 13 trades left. Keeping Darling, and will have to get rid of Heppell later in the year because of the finals bye.

Reply

mbazaluk May 27, 2011 at 5:11 pm

Yeah slim picking makes me say option 2, both should fatten up nicely. Especially if you have the league win in the bag.
Then double upgrade next week like you said

Consistency= Thompson
MASSIVE scores (and the occassional downer)= Fyfe

Reply

Fishtopher May 27, 2011 at 4:50 pm

I’d go Fyfe for big points in the forward line (priceless) and save some extra coin and bring in one of the top four or five mids

Reply

Eddie Betts!!! May 27, 2011 at 4:53 pm

Thanks guys, its been Fyfe in my head all week, but just saw Thompsons stats, be/etc and he’s looking good this week. But come to think of it he’d probably take up the last place in my mids that Boyd might be better for in a few weeks.

So i’m leaning towards trading Fyfe into my forward line for higgins.

Reply

mbazaluk May 27, 2011 at 5:12 pm

I went with Thompson but its only because I already have Fyfe.
Been very happy with Fyfe so go for him

Fellas I’m in a dilemma and need some advise….

Below is my team….
Backs) Lids Goddard Gibbs Shaw Broughton Suckling Puopolo
Heppell Mckernan Toy

Mids) Swan Boys Selwood Burgoyne Harris Krak
Swallow Iles Bewick

Forwards) Buddy Goodes N.Roo Rioli Stevie J Yarran Darling
Tapscott Richardson Prestia

17 trades left
15k in the bank

My first trade is Swallow – Jacobs for DPP relief
I want to strengthen my mids but if I replace krak also I lose my fprward DPP unless I get a Pav Sylvia Fyfe…..
If I downgrade Tapscott to Lynch then I cant get Jacobs in…..
Or bite the buller on burger????

Any wisdom on what you would do here would be greatly appreciated….

Cam- formerly known as Cameron May 27, 2011 at 4:53 pm

id go
swallow to jacobs
krak to a premium (whoever you can afford)

next week you cajn always trade in Mzungu for DPP flexibility with your forwards. this way you get a dedicated midfielder as well as flexibility

Issue I have is I’ll have no decent midfield cash cows left next week to bring Mzungu into my mids …Iles wont have peaked enough Bewick is worth nothing …a trade just for DPP purposes is a waste IMO…thats where Im stuck

I think my only choice is to go for pavlich or sylvia for krakour…..

I’m in the same boat as ya mate, i can either get jacobs for a rookie and then upgrade higgins or go tappy>lynch then upgrade higgins to a gun mid. I really want DPP (def/mid) in me mids too. What im thinking of doing is getting jacobs NEXT week bcoz he’ll be around 150k i guess, and ill swap him in for libba. im stuck in a pickle too mate.

Fishtopher May 27, 2011 at 5:41 pm

Libba – Jacobs
Tappy – Chappy

Good news for anyone with Dids. I’ve benched him this week so that should guarantee a ton.

M: Selwood (C) Swan Judd Goodes Harris Libba (Higgins, Illes (EMG), Bewick)
R: Cox Smith (Sandman, McCauley)
F: Pavlich nRoo jRoo Johnson Rioli Darling Knights (Lynch (EMG), Smith, Richardson)
Should I trade Jacobs in for higgins, which leaves me with 560k for a double upgrade next week, or should i upgrade higgins using 276k??? please help!!!
