  1. Not only is this a big Supercoach finals week but there are actually some really good games of footy this weekend…
None more important than the mighty Hawks against the Blues tomorrow should be a ripper, gee I hope we give Carlton a touch up.
Then to rub salt into the wound I hope that the Eagles come out and put Essendon to the sword.

  5. I think I am about to bow out of our league finals. Over the season I have grown to love my team and with tiring Zac Smith out my limited choices (of course I didnt listen and have no trades left just when I was getting in the swing of things). I want to put in my best team. Along with Dean Cox as my second ruck should i choose:
    thumbs up Jackson Trengrove (port)
    Thumbs down J TIppet (suns)
Its a miracle my team got this far really.
    Good luck this weekend everyone

  7. Can usually tell which way the winds blowing on most selection conundrums but need some help this time gents, so here it is. Got the week off in both leagues but need cover for Juddy next week. One trade left and no cash. Don’t want to have to play Mzungu or D Swallow in a prelim and would love to keep Juddy for the Granny.

Do I trade Swallow (BE 135) for Moloney this week while its still on the table, hope he gets me over the line and risk injuries in the last 3 rounds (thumbs up) or wait till next week and just trade Juddy to Mitchell or whoever (thumbs down)

  9. Okay guys I need some feedback. Down to the business end of the year.

Gibbs. Goddard. Enright. Broughton. Heppell. Deledio. Birchall. Fisher. Mckernan. Okeefe(Carlton)
Hodge.  Swan. Pendelbury. Ablett. Boyd. Dal santo. Krakouer. Andreoli. Jacobs
    Cox. Smith. (m.curnow. J tippet)

And I have 6 trades with the bye this week and around around $380,000 in bank.

    Was thinking hodge to Mitchell

    Boyd to selwood
    Isaac smith to fyfe
    What you guys think

  10. No cash in the bank 1 trade left. Who to trade nick lower for as cover for enright this week and gibbs next? Tossing up between Gilbert, Harbrow, Ben Reid, Guerra and Silvagni. If only I had got rid of him last week for Hurn!

  11. Need some help of my own now, boys. Must take down MJ in our league semi…

Three trades remaining, $120,000 in the bank. The major holes in my team, as I see it, are Cross at M6 and Rawlings at D7.

With Cross to play Port this week, I think I might leave him in, but I have the option of bringing in Montagna/S. Thompson if I want to.

For the last defensive post, I’d probably trade out Puopolo and move Rawlings to the bench.

Options are Suckling (though that leaves me with five starting Hawks, too many for my liking), Grundy, Johncock, Adcock, Gram or Hurn. Or, I can use up all my cash and bring in Bock, which removes the possibility of trading Cross for Bartel/Chapman next week.

Thoughts? Any comments much appreciated, but for now:
Thumps up: trade Puopolo for Bock
Thumbs down: Save the cash and bring in Suckling/Johncock/Hurn etc.

    Thanks!

  12. Good day to all,

Am planning on using 2 trades this week, and after trading out the two players, I would have approx. $860K – $870K to spend on a MID and a DEF. I’ve narrowed it down to the following two combinations:

Thumbs UP: Dale Thomas & Graham Johncock ($10K remaining)
Thumbs DOWN: Brent Moloney & Nathan Bock ($80K remaining)

Thanks in advance … would love comments if alternate combinations are recommended.

  15. Using my last trades this week to boost my overall with Hurley not playing.

    Puopolo —> Bock
    and
    Mzungu —> Goodes

    Leaves me with $700.

    Thoughts?

  16. Got a midfield dilemma with Mundy playing I need to decide who I need to bench as my 3 pine player currently Bartel & Callinan.

    Choices are:
    Kerr – Thumbs up
    Mzungu – Thunmbs down
    Mundy – Comment

rest of Mids are Swan Ablett Hodge & Watson

or I could Mzungu into forward and bench either Goodes, Fyfe, Pav or Harvey

  17. Need some help here boys. I’m in strife!
My team is below and differences with the guy I am playing are in caps and brackets.
$98,900 in bank 1 trade left. Can’t afford a decent Jamar upgrade.

B: Fisher, Goddard, Deledio, Birchall, Broughton, Suckling, GIBBS (HEPPELL) – Bench – Lower, Stanley
M: Swan, Pendles, Ablett, BOYD (MURPHY), GOODES (PRIDDIS), THOMPSON (FYFE) – Bench – I Smith, Prestia, Jacobs
R: Cox, JAMAR (MUMFORD) – Bench – Vardy
F: Franklin, Pavlich, Rioli, O’Keefe, NRoo, SYLVIA (JROO), MZUNGU (YARRAN/PETRIE)

    Thinking one of:
    Mzungu > Petrie/Wells
    Goodes > Dal Santo/Mitchell

Boyd, Sylvia and Thompson all have bad opposition, think maybe keep them. Mzungu could crack a ton against North but is unpredictable. Goodes has been good but is overpriced for his average (so a good upgrade option) and might struggle to dominate against the Saints. But the super premium upgrade targets also have tough games – Dal v Swans and Mitchell v Blues. It’s tough. Maybe Mzungu to Petrie?

What do you guys reckon? How can I beat this guy?

  18. Trades all but locked in:

    Lower > Suckling
    Duffield > Birchall

Will be so glad to get rid of those blokes. They’ve been giving me unnecessary pain every week. I can breath a little easier with those hawk boys in defence.

Team will line up like this:

Gibbs, Goddard, Deledio, Suckling, Broughton, Birchall, Fisher
    Bench: Enright, Talia, Toy

Judd, Ablett(C), Priddis, Hodge, Pendlebury, Swan(VC)
    Bench: Chapman, Jacobs, Callinan

    Cox, Petrie
    Bench: Smith, Vardy

Franklin, Pavlich, O’Keefe, Goodes, Sylvia, N.Riewoldt, Mzungu
    Bench: S.Johnson, Richardson, Tippett

Even with 3 Geelong guns on the pine, there’s no way this team (on paper) should lose any finals this week. Cannot believe how strong the squad has become, a culmination of a season’s work rolled into the final product, with 1 sneaky trade left for a rainy day.

  19. Heppell, Adcock and Puopolo are vying for my D7 spot. Was thinking Heppell but am worried to see him listed as 4th I/C. Puopolo’s in good form but will he score well against a good team? And Adcock’s scores have been down but he’ll see plenty of ball down back against Collingwood.

    Hmmm …

Thumbs Up: Stick with plan and go Heppell
Thumps Down: Heppell will be sub so therefore play Adcock or Puopolo

  20. reposting for some traffic (for the full explanation see my post in the Motts Movers Rucks rd 21 post). Is this a bad idea (4 trades left):

    this week
Gibbs to Gilbert (def/fwd), to allow for
    Z.Smith to Goldstein

    then next week
    Judd to Daisy
    J.Roo to Bob Murphy (fwd/def)

anyone?? have to go to work at midday. Working til 7. Don’t want to leave it too late!

  21. I have two matches this week out of 5. And two I’m in next week. One league I am out of now.

Terrible bench cover in defence. I have Sep Tape. Strauss is out for the season. Also have Jamie Cripps who is set to return r23, if he can find a spot in the Saints team.
In terms of Midfield I have Libba Jnr, Conca, Ben Jacobs.

Need to get someone good for Z.Smith!

  22. I like this week but i think you can get a higher averaging pair than Daisy and Bob Murphy. Not sure who you already have but you’d get better averages from Boomer/O’Keefe and Boyd/Fyfe/Swallow/Wells/Thompson (he also has a good draw). That said, if Murphy is just bench cover, maybe fair enough that you get the highest scoring mid you can.

    Cox, Dish (Tippy Bathie)
Pav, Fyfe, Buddy, NRoo, JRoo, Mzungooo (Johnson Smith* Lobbe)

    POD’s are

is it too much of a risk to leave Bailey on the field with no backup?

  29. Bit of a drama down back, hope you guys can offer some assistance.

Last 5 backs are Broughton, Adcock, Heppel, Puopolo and Buckley. Need to play 2, opponent will have to play Adcock and Puopolo. Do I ensure I don’t lose out due to Broughton’s inconsistency, or take a punt he will fire this week and start him. If so, instead of who, Adcock or Puopolo (ruled out Heppel and Buckley)??? Thanks.
