The late withdrawal of Mitchell last week destroyed my team with no bench cover in my midfield… but at the end of the day, I was beaten by a better team. So hopefully there won’t be any surprises for your team this week if you’re in the Grannie…..
Leave a comment / Scroll to bottom
Big changes at the Hawks, watch this space 😉
I don’t think i have been this anxious about the teams since round 1.
I’m screwed, though Darling and Callinan in should help just a tiny bit. Can’t believe I wasted a trade on N Roo to Cyril 2 weeks ago 🙁 Picking up Fyfe last week wasn’t that inspired either.
lol at hawks…. but who cares WE’RE GOING TO WIN THE PREMIERSHIP
Hmm mass rest of players
http://www.afl.com.au/teams/tabid/16469/default.aspx
Gardiner named in the saints team, hasn’t played all year. Think McEvoy still in though as Armitage is out.
$100 bucks on the gold coast to win by more than 40 points
Gary Ablett not playing?! he’s not green?
Just two hawks casualties. Could have been worse…
Franklin > Harvey
Birchall > Scotland
Hawks and Suns selections have obviously caused a meltdown at SC headquarters…
Ablett out wowwwweeee, Nathan that is hehehe
seeing as I’m out of my sc finals I just checked my dream team which I havnt looked at since rnd 18 and I’m in 3 gf, which shows how crap dt is.
Went heppal to bock
And rioli to hall who I’m Tepted to make captain
Who to drop out of Dollhouse, Howe, Lobbe and Talia? Robbie Gray in for Buddy (I can’t believe I just did that…..)
With Buddy now on the block as trade bait for the Wyld Ones, just wondering who i should replace him with. First two that come to mind are S. Johnson (playing the pies is a big deterrent) or ever reliable ROK. Then i had a an epiphany what about N.Roo, had an absolute blinder last week and is playing Carl probably lining up on an under done Jamieson or a Henderson.
So up for Cat Johnson
down for ROK
Or is there someone out there who agrees with my Nick Riewoldt theory.
Slim pickings to replace Buddy.
Already have Cloke, Johnson, NRoo, Goodes, O’Keefe, Petrie, Mzungu (E).
Options:
Brent Harvey 409K
(v Richmond) scored only 40 last week v StK but 125 last time against the tigers. He’d be keen to finish the season off with a win and probably the best bet.
Paul Chapman 454K
(v Collingwood) If he wasn’t playing the Pies he’d probably be the top pick. Last time he only managed 70 against them and he’s been below par the last couple of games (80, 91). This week Harry O will be all over him like a rash.
Chris Yarran 395K
(v St Kilda) Has caused more than his share of SC frustration but as the season went on he’s got better and better. He’s fresh from the bye and will love to run from the backline all day. Last time against the Saints he nailed 102 and has put together a couple of solid scores including 108 last game against the Hawks.
Robbie Gray 410K
(v Melbourne) scored a massive 168 last week against the Bombers and has a home game against the D’s. Could be a remarkable POD but risky move. Could be a stroke of genius or the stupidest thing you’ve done in your SC career.
Barry Hall (403K)
Just for a joke! He’d love to win his last game and kick a bag of goals like he has done a few times recently. Probably more likely to king hit Luke McPhalin than score a ton in SC.
Anyone else deserve a mention?
Who to get for Birchall?
Thumbs up – Scotland
Thumbs down – Bock
Ah Exams are hectic at the moment……………
Into 4/5 Grand Finals
Team for the round
B- Goddard, Deledio, Fisher, Enright, Adcock, Gilbert, Duffield
(Hurn(EMER), Jacobs, Howard)
C- Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Ablett, Gibbs, Cotchin
(Callinan(EMER), Hodge, Sylvia)
R- Cox, Jolly
(J.Tippett(EMER), Moran)
F- Goodes, R.O’Keefe, Chapman, Petrie, N.Riewoldt, Mzungu, Dahlhaus
(Franklin, Richardson, Pavlich)
Well it looks like the Kelsos finish the season with some high quality on the bench.
Having spent the last trade of the season bringing in Nathan Bock this gives the ‘mid-pricer on the pine at all times’ strategy a good workout.
Boak will play in place of Hodge while Grundy makes the move down from the backline to cover for Franklin in his annual field day against the Lions. Fyfe is moved out in favour of Mzungu while Krakouer is the only player unlucky to miss out on selection but sits in wait on the MID bench just incase there are more surprises.
Depending on my mood Krakouer may well come in for Hurn (it works trust me) but will await final Sunday teams before making that decision.
24 Rounds and im going to fall at the last hurdle.
Rioli, Franklin, Leon Davis [Which i brought in last week :(] Which means one donut for me. It’ll be a miracle if i win.
This Is bull. Had a full team all year, had so many trades left I’ve been cashing all bench players out. And now it looks like I might not have a full team
Hello Everyone ,Who should I play on the field? I reckon both have a good chance at being the sub.
Thumbs up- Howe
Thumbs Down- Callinan
Need thoughts on who to put on the field. Either could be sub (one has only played one game this year and the other has been dropped for 5 weeks).
Thumbs up – Shaun Atley (been dropped)
Thumbs down – Ben Bucovaz (played 1 match)
One trade left, need some advice!
Thumbs up – Bartel to Mitchell
Thumbs down – S Thompson to Ablett
Hey guys, who to field:
Puopolo (Thumbs up)
Hurn (Thumbs down)
hey fellow supercoaches. Only can afford these 3 players($200 short on SJ)
Thumbs up: Cloke
Thumbs Down: Hall
Okeefe Comment
Ok SCT….my last request for the year!!!!!!!!
thanks for all your advice throughout the year!!!!
Who to play on the field?????
Thumbs up – Puopolo
Thumbs down – Broughton
Lads, need to replace Buddy. I have 3 choices – Stevie J, Cloke or Ryan O’Keefe. What’s my best bet?
who should i get in?
Judd, Mitchell or Dal Santo
I have a donut in my ruck line with Bailey out, all other lines are covered, so my strategy is to replace Bailey rather than upgrade a 40 point player in another line like McKernan who has to play. Hence, I am choosing between Petrie or Hale, Petrie has a better average but has been double/triple teamed recently, and Hale is #1 ruck with Bailey out and is playing against Zac Smith.
Thumbs up Petrie
Thumbs down Hale
Fyfe- OUT
My options for replacement (final trade):
~ Griffin (WB) 109 against Freo last time. Freo have no side this week. However I think a few of you have been burnt by this guy (correct me if I’m wrong)
~ Bolton, capable of smashing out a huge score or zippo!
~ Was thinking Hodge but he’s out
~ Like ROK but most opponents have him
~ Carrazo and swapping him into my backline for Goddard for something totally different. Not keen to take that risk on GF weekend though.
Any ideas, guys? thanks in advance.
Hawthorn’s carnage of outs has definitely thrown a spanner into the works. That’s why it’s always so handy to have a trade or two for the last round of the year, the round where many players traditionally get rested. Unfortunately I have none left and will just have to wing it.
Will have to bench Hodge and then swap Goddard into the mids for Jacobs. That then allows me to field all four of the backline players I was deliberating on all week. Petrie moves forward to replace Fyfe and Zmith plays R2. Isaac Smith & Mzungu come in for Buddy & Cyril who join Hodge Pav & Fyfe on the sidelines. No donuts and three emergencies: Duigan (D), Callinan (M) and JTippet (R). All I have to say is thank FARK for DPP.
T U for Ben Bucovaz
T D for Shaun Atley
guys. thoughts on trading fyfe to chappy or any other forward.
Or do I upgrade cross to anyone?
mids are ablett, swan, pendles, mitchell, priddis, cross
forwards at the moment
goodes, okeefe, harvey, johnson, riewoldt, mzungu, smith. with fyfe on the bench.
Horror teams list for me:
In – Nobody
OUT – Buddy, Leon, Birchall, Lower, Fyfe (went Pav to Fyfe last week)
I need some help. I will be one down in the forward line need to trade Buddy to:
Harvey – UP
Petrie – DOWN
Gia/Gray/Hale/other – put in comments please
I need two of Mzungu, Smith and Prestia in my forward line.
I am leaning towards Smith and Prestia
Which two?
Smith and Mzungu – Thumbs up
Smith and Prestia – Thumbs down
Mzungu and Prestia – comment
My final team of the year is now open for scrutiny and comment from the SC masses. Mate V Mate pride on the line so any advice is appreciated
Goddard Gibbs, Delidio, Fisher, Bock, Broughton, Adcock E=Talia
Pendlebury, Priddis, Ablett (vc), Boyd (c), Thompson, Selwood E=Krak
Cox, Petrie
Goodes, Johnson, N Roo, J Roo, Didak, Mzungu, Smith E=Lobbe.
Not sure about my emergency choices for the mid and forwards. Any advice will go a long way.
Good Luck to all SC’ers in their respective GF’s and my you smash your opponents handily.
Captains this wee. Pendles, Cyril, Goddard, Boyd, Cox and Judd.
Comment please? Need revenge.
I brought Hodge in to my team last week!
pendle, swan or ablett as captain???
Got my two trades sorted out. Making a big risk with my hodge replacement. Going to get Joel selwood. Even though it is going to be a low scoring night I think he will want a big game heading into finals. Plus I love the way he goes about it. I pretty much just need around 110 from him and i think he will get it for me.
I’m also getting Harvey in for buddy.
My team for the grand final vs rustee.
Goddard Gibbs deledio fisher enright broughton suckling (birchall toy(e)
wilkinson)
Ablett swan pendles selwood dal santo (mzungu(e) callinan Jacobs)
Cox mumford (keefe tippet)
Goodes okeefe Harvey riewoldt riewoldt Petrie (tapscott rioli talia)
Thoughts?
Got one trade left and Buddy, Rioli & C.Knights on forward bench means no coverage. Looking at trading Buddy which gives me 630,000 (any forward).
Best options appear Cloke & Harvey who opponent has or Robbie Gray as POD. I reckon i should just sneak GF, therefore looking at: –
Thumbs UP – Go Gray as POD
Thumbs DOWN – Harvey
One trade
Any fwd for Leon
Of the possibles i already have Goodes, RO’K, NRoo, Petrie
Current thoughts are:
> Gray
> Boomer
> Chappy
> Cloke
> JRoo
If i go Chappy that’s effectively a blocking strategy against my opponent in my main league GF. Happy to do that though as i think i’ve got him outpointed in other areas. The other’s would all create a point of difference.
Being wooed by Gray’s huge score last week but he was shite up til then so maybe not.
Boomer’s going to receive more attention (but also more midfield opportunities) with Zeibell, Wells and Greenwood all out.
Cloke will have to combat the Geelong defence which worries me but he’s likely to go wooshka and kick 4.3
JRoo’s been poor this year but was good against North earlier in the year and with 3 of North’s regular mids out he might be receiving some decent delivery this week.
Hmmmm…..
Really sucks that this year’s grand final comes down to the strength of each guy’s bench in a lot of cases. The best people will no doubt have trades left and strong benches and will win because of it, but I would have much preferred to see everyone’s best teams on the park
On a side note, I am absolutely limping over the line. Paying for my wasteful early season trades. My forward line has 4 rookies this week – Smith, Mzungu, Matera and Talia – with Sylvia, Franklin and Cyril on the bench. Pathetic and I deserve to get smashed
my final trade for the year have gone Hodge –> A Swallow
gives me a team like this for the GF
Gibbs, Goddard, Enright, Suckling, Duffield, Hurn, Murphy
Abblet (c), Boyd, Pendles, Priddis, Swallow, Dal Santo
Cox, Lobbe
Reiwoldt x 2, Stevie J, Krack, Goodes, smith, mzungu
Trades done. Franklin > Harvey. Birchall > Bock.
Here’s the GF team. Any comments (especially on E choice) welcome.
Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Bock, Fisher, Murphy, Puopolo (Broughton E)
Swan, Pendlebury, Judd (VC), Ablett (C), Priddis, Boyd (I Smith E?)
Cox, Hale (Tippet E?)
Goodes, O’Keefe, Cloke, Johnson, NRoo, Harvey, Petrie, (Mzungu E)
Probably won’t be back on the site unless I win the GF 🙂
Even if I do win, its a pity there’s nobody around these days to brag to 😆
Pederson out will hurt some people…
Ok guys poll time. Who to get for hodge.
Thumbs up Joel selwood
Thumbs down mitchel
Comments for swallow, or any other options…
Ok, no sentiment for me. If selwood were versing anyone aside from tonight I’d get him in a heartbeat. Mitchell it is. Thanks for the help guys!
My final team
Goddard Gibbs deledio broughton enright fisher suckling
Ablett swan pendles Mitchell priddis dal santo
Cox mumford
Harvey goodes okeefe chapman Petrie riewoldt riewoldt.
BRING IT ON RUSTEE!! MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!
In four out of four grannies and as with alot of others i have been butchered having used my last trade last week. Sitting on the pine is birchall, lower, lewis (who i brought in last week), sylvia, rioli & fyfe. Have 1 x donut unless Nicholson is a late inclusion (doubtful)
I have Hale on the ruck bench and am toying with the idea of swapping Petrie for him as a POD. Hale has been in consistent form, is playing GC but may attract the best defender (when forward) with Franklin & Rioli out. Petrie has been a bit down but has the potential for huge scores.
Thumbs Up – keep Petrie
Thumbs Down – risk it and go Hale
Going to cop 3 donuts in the forward line (thanks to Leon, Buddy and Cyril), but I have 2 players on the bench in the back. So, selection issues (who to bench?):
Pederson (vs. Richmond) – UP
Hurn (vs. Adelaide) – DOWN
Broughton (vs. Western Bulldogs) – COMMENT
North Melbourne – UP
Richmond – DOWN
Quick Poll, who to start:
Broughton Up
Jedcock Down
Cheers.
