Currently have Mumford, Giles, Nic Nac & Redden as rucks. Trading out Mumford, but who for? R11 Bye has both Giles & Nic Nac on the pine, redden may or may not be getting a game by then, so need a playing ruck but not one from the R11 bye teams, otherwise left with 2 donuts. Help!

OUT: Mummy and a rookie from another position
IN: Longer and a premium from another position

That’s what I would do if I was in your position, nic nats doing great averaging over 100, and Giles may be a keeper if he keeps averaging 98 like he is, or closer to the bye upgrade Giles.

Best forward under $500,000 to bring in?

Tippet, Hawkins, Dangerfield, Dahlhaus, Riewoldt, Sidebottom, Cloke, Chapman, Harvey, Robinson, Zaharakis, Pavlich, Rioli and Beams up for consideration.

Most likely thinking Sidebottom. Thoughts?

Sidebum the safe bet will play 22 games and get 90-100 average. Chapman and Beams both capable of averaging 100+ but both injury worries. So if you have bypassed all the other injuries go one of them for a lil risk a big reward, if not go Sidebum.

With Drummond and Edwards out, have Smedt and Bower both iffy ins
Judd is out with no cover there
Kreuzer out with Stephenson there (Giles is other onfield ruckman)
Smith, Zorko, Treloar and Kerridge making up the end of the forward line.

Where do I go from here?

Willing to take the Judd zero, looking at trading KREUZER to LONGER and then not sure what to do take the zero and upgrade smith or fill in by upgrading someone else, mind you theres 170,000 in the kitty

From now on I think that you have to upgrade fully or downgrade fully. No point getting mid-pricers that won’t be in the top 10 forwards by the end of the season – those blokes won’t.

With Stanley I would either go down to a rookie, say Pfeiffer, or go all the way up, if you have the cash, to a gun like Sidebottom/Chappy/Cloke/Beams…

Redden playing in the SANFL still behind the more mature ruckmen at Port need an injury to occur soon. I think he’ll be in and out of the team all year still might be alright cash cow but just not a regular which sucks right now with all the ruckmen going down.

Hard to believe for Port’s future development Primus is not getting valuable games into the kid. Its not as if Renouf is a superster, in fact it could be argued that Redden has at least matched if not outplayed him in games to date.
Then there’s Lobbe to be back soon which does not bode well.

Trading has reached a new level with uncertainty. It would appear that you are unable to trade until the death knell again with GWS having the Sunday game and Carlton resting players this early in the year. One of Greene or Smith will miss or at best be receiving the vest as Folau and Cameron would be certain starters.
Fantasy Football should be fun but this year has turned into a nightmare.
I pray for one week where I can pick my team on Thursday night that will have 22 players on the park and play out a full game.

With your rucks if you have Stephenson or Redden I would be trading one of these as I doubt whether both will receive plenty of game time through out the year. Kreuzer will play most games and is in Carltons best 22 so is best to keep and will assist during the bye rounds. Billy showed a bit of potential in his first game and Brisbane is going nowhere this year. The down side of this trade being it would appear that you do not have enough cash in the bank to upgrade Aaron Hall.

Personally dont see him as top 10 but the reason for his 65.8 average is because he was vested a handful of times which means alot of very poor scores. But when he did get a good run he got 100s. This year less chance of getting vested therefore more scoring potential.

Hold a week on hale if you can. He might score well with McCauley out and you can see how longer goes

Tossing up who to trade for Fyfe –
Sidebum, MitchyRobi, StevieJ, Dusty Martin, Whitecross, Cyril, ROK, or Chapman

Leaning towards one of the last two from a value, DPP, and track record perspective
Also, only have 492k to spend and would like to leave some coin in the bank.

Thumbs up – ROK
Thumbs Down – Chapman

Thanks

If Pfeifer is named tomorrow arvo, should I swap Smith to him for the cash? I think Smith has moo’d, so it’s the trade down that I would do anyway, just wondering if doing it now to Pfeifer is the best option…

yes take pfeifer and the money and run – up
keep smith for now and milk him later – down

Also if I do that, I would have the cash to get Goodes in for Fyfe instead of Sidebum… is that a better option?

Listed as ‘injured’, however i think he is simply being rested – I hope so anyway!. GWS rookies will probably all play 2 games on the trot & then either 1 as sub or a weeks rest.

I am in the same boat Dave. Not good. I will be coping another donut this week and will make a call on Longer next week. The issue is not so much Sandi (although unfortunate), the big issue is no bench coverage for an injured gun. Hopefully Longer will be the cure.

Going to keep eye on another Ruck / For DPP over coming weeks to aid flexibility during bye’s. Got Cox, Giles, Hale & Redden

Thumbs Up: Scott Lycett of Eagles
Thumbs Down: Joel Hamling of Cats.

Lycett a chance to get odd run with J.J. Kennedy injury, however i would imagine that one of Cox or Nik Nat will probs be enough tall-tall timber down there. Any thoughts Weagles fans?
Hamling looks like he is getting primed as a defender in the VFL & you would imagine they would get lower level games into him this season to learn his trade. Any Geelong fans seen much of him & what do you think his chances of picking up a few games this season??

Save your trades AndyB. As a Cats man he will be nurtured through the Mcgoos this year. Has just come back from an injury.

Cheers for the feedback Cameron.
He sounds like a good long term prospect for you.
I had been thinking of doing a Joel Tippet with either him or Sam Rowe (now out for season) & also add Roughie after the bye as i hate wasting trades on the ruck when they rest the big men.

In hindsight I would have looked for a RUC/FWD link rather than risk Redden and BIg O on the bench. But it is hard to justify going with it now IMO. I would find another strategy personally.

Also, I do not think either of the rucks you mentioned will see many games and that is not good for bench coverage. However, if you’re set on this strategy why not grab Pattinson at 94K instead of those two options? You make cash and Hawks have terrible luck with rucks so you never know.

I had DPP set up for the start but dumpted Rowe before round 1 yet stuck with Hale – not the smartest move!!

1. the big O- is he ever gonna get a game again?
2. Longer- job security?

then get Pendles for
1.c.smith- see the big O
2.d.smith- has he peaked or will he start to get some more game time?
thoughts anyone?

Thinking of Ryan O’Keefe as a massive POD in a lucrative deal for Nat Fyfe.
Owned by 1.49% of teams and I see him as good value at the moment. (A good 100K less than his counterpart Goodes).
Any thoughts?

I like it MJ.
Has great history of durability and with JPK inside and Hannebery outside getting the tags he should run amok to give you at least a F6/7 keeper.

Scrap that! Just looked at your situation with the byes and if your premium mids stay the same until then, you’ll be missing 2 prems in rounds 12 and 13. Boyd and Thompson both have byes in round 11 so either of them will save you from a doughnut.

yeah thats why im trying to avoid bringing in jpk – swan or pendles.

thinking about holding onto magner untill rnd 12 and trading him for a premium from adel , W.B or W.C

untill then old mac will have to be my 6th mid ;) should be able to avoid any doughnuts that way (at least in the mids ;) )

Last night on the footy show he said the doc’s expect it a 2-4 week injury. He wants to be back next week (that would be 2 weeks). He was running today and would know more after that session.
