Damn you Sheedy and McKenna!!!! Adams and the Horse named 4 4th on their respective benches. Surely the vest beckons for them both??

That’s going to throw a lot of potential trades in to dissaray!

I don’t think they’ll get the vests, they have both been one of the best players of there respective teams over the last couple of weeks…. Surely you wouldn’t start them as subs? But, crazier things have happened…

The newbie Phillips might get the vest for GWS instead Adams, but I can’t see any of the other three at GC getting it. The Horse is a prime candidate unless Gaz’s missus’ dog Frank is correct and GAJ is a late withdrawal.

Geez Chino…..That would be quite a risk even if didak hit a couple of high scores in his first few matches.

Dids is a walking advertisement for soft tissue injuries. He may as well have a ward named after him at the Alfred Hospital lol
i would be surprised if he could get consecutive tons let alone be able to get thru the season not injured. I think youre better off getting an in form injury free forward than an injury prone veteran….regardless of how good he scores in his first few game IMO.

According to SC Gold (yes it actually has a use), Ablett’s scores his first game back from injury last year were a touch underwhelming by his standards: 109, 106, 134.

And that knee injury looked a lot more serious than the niggles he had last year. He’s a gun, but maybe not a captaincy cert this week IMO.

Sash, he is listed on extended bench in squad of 25. As he is only 1 of 7 people on the bench tonight, you will know by 5pm tomorrow whether he in the final 22. He is certainly in the best 22 Freo players so you would think he would be named, however Freo may decide to rest him against Port at home. I’ll also be keeping an eye on whether he is listed to play prior to lockout.

Sash, Broughton is named in the final 22 and is first name on the i/c. I would think he is going to play & i/c rather than starting spot may mean rotating into the mids which would certainly help his scoring.

I had same thoughts last week and will have the same again this week.

Morris is less chance of being subbed but plays full back without huge scoring potential but should get you say 60-65 v Ellis who is named in centres but always a chance of being subbed out and therefore more likely to score say 50-75.

If you think you have your main opponents covered in terms of potential total points go for Morris the banker, however if they have a better team take a chance on Ellis.

Murphy still got 2 decreases to go due to low score last week.
Swann has the track record & can go big, but will he be off to Arizona a week before or after the bye?
Stanton likely get either 75 if tagged or 175 if playing the hats.
JP Kennedy great scoring potential. may have to kick a couple of goals with Goodes out as well. Swans less chance of winning without Goodes though, however Kennedy, S.Thompson & Boyd all seem to score big even in losing teams.

if i had to choose i’d probably say Aaron Hall cuz at least Kennedy is gettin games whilst Hall is finding it hard to break into the side thats slowly establishing its best 22.

Kennedy may score low numbers as he’s playing a defensive role but he has a better JS than a goal sneak

He also seems to have pretty much maxed out his price – BE (56) is getting dangerously close to his average.

If you’ve got cover and can afford to have Hall on the bench not playing (for now), then Kennedy might be a better out given he’s likely done making you money and may start losing you some.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Adams got the vest… Sheeds has been playing the young blokes 2-3 games, then giving them a break (either sub, subbed or not playing)… But I would be dry surprised if Horsley got the vest…

With this added risk, is it worth bringing Adams in for a bloke like Kennedy?

Do you need the cash for planned upgrades next week? And do you have an easy league game that means you might be fine with Pavs score difference from Adams? If so go the second option.
It means you get the cash cows before the price rise and have the potential to allow another premium a price drop before getting them next week with all the money you have.
I myself am going Goodes -> Horsley and Paine -> Adams and am waiting for the probable price drop of Marc Murphy so that I can pick him up next week along with another upgrade.

Guys, just doing a bit of light analysis on team sheets indicating who the sub will be. Just kept it simple by looking at round 6 only in the Friday and Saturday games where full squads were known.

On-field: 3
1st bench: 0
2nd bench: 2
3rd bench: 2
4th bench: 4
Emg(late inclusion): 1

Worth noting, Kyal Horsley was 4th bench last week and wasn’t involved with either sub vest. Take from this what you will.

Great research MJ and Deano. It gives me a lot more confidence on Horsley.

Anticipate seeing these guys names appear on the team sheets every week, but looks like a false hope:

Tom Couch
Jarrad Redden
Aaron Hall
Peter Yagmoor

I will hence be giving Neald, Primus, McKenna and Buckley a ring tomorrow and giving them a healthy spray about it. Bucks may get off lightly, naming young Peter as an emergency, but the other three are in real strife, particularly Mark Neald. He obviously doesn’t want to win a game this year, leaving Tommy Couch to tear it up in the magoos, not the seniors. Get your act together Nealdy!

Here’s a thought.

Mumford > Ivan ‘The Flying Mullet’ Maric
(banking $150k in the process)

Tempting.

So it seems Redden has been Dropped in the SANFL too, not good signs for the young bloke.

Much excitement yesterday when he was listed as an ‘out’ for his sanfl team, suggesting a call-up. This has since changed, though, and he has been named at FF for the league team (Woodville-West Torrens if you want to look it up).

Anyone else confused why there’s a rule about sliding into packs. Broughton and Thomas did NOTHING wrong other than attack the ball yet this weekend players in the same situation will get a free against them. Ridiculous. I hate how rules are constantly being changed pre-season and now even during the season.

the sliding rule will change Footy a fair bit how do you change 10 years of teaching which says to put you between the ball and your opponent. I am waiting for the first head clash cause players will go head first slide in instead of feet first. Why bring the rule in half way through the year.

It hasn’t been a problem for 100 years!

Cardez, play Giles. Bit more consistent and Giles is guarenteed more game time. Plus he is up against z Clarke who is also a rookie basically.
