  1. So many quality options to trade this week. With Duigan’s BE being high now I will trade him down to Hibberb and make myself some fine cash.

But what to do with my second trade?
Assuming the team selections are all good I was thinking Savage upgraded to Fyfe before his price rises further which will FINALLY give me a M/F DPP (all of mine are up forward).
But that still leaves me with Higgins so my second option was to trade him for JRoo. I wouldn’t cop a donut with Higgins in the team though so is it worth holding on to him?

    Thumbs UP: Savage > Fyfe
    Thumbs DOWN: Higgins > JRoo

  3. Also thinking of the who to trade for Duigan.
Hibberd looks a good option but there seems to be a lot of hype for Puopolo.

  7. Only trade this week will be Yarran -> Harvey/Johnson
Always planned to trade Yarran out before R8 (Carlton’s bye). He’s done a great job and earned me some money now it’s time to be sent off.
    However the problem is:
    Harvey or Stevie J?
Both have finals byes but have planned my trades and will have 6-8 trades remaining (barring injuries) so will be able to sideways trade them come finals.
    THUMBS UP- Harvey
    THUMBS DOWN- Johnson

  12. Good going Footyfan.

So many rookies coming in. I’ll be waiting a week to try and get a read of which ones will blossom. Couldn’t be better timing IMO.

  13. Im thinking in two weeks before GC bye two rookies probably Matera and Stanley downgrade to Poupolo and Smith on the bubble to cash in.

  14. Libba out with soreness. Kinda saw this coming becoz he was a 1st year player, hopefully his back in soon 🙂

  15. Matt Suckling out for hawks will hurt a few. Im all looking good except for Higgins. Not sure if I should trade him or hang on another week.

Thinking im going to trade Duigan down to Thompson from Crows and then see what is available to me

  17. Liberatore OUT is big news. Not even made the interchange. Has just made my decision easier on who to trade for Sam Iles 🙂

  18. Should I play Hibberd or McKernan on field this week? After last week I would say Hibberd but then I remember he only played GC.

    Thumbs up: Hibberd
    Thumbs down: McKernan

  19. Broc McCauley not named, Zac Smith stays in the team, also wanted to trade out Duigan this week to make some cash Alex Johnson from Sydney looks like the best downtrade option playing is 3rd game

  20. Libba will surely be back?
Just soreness, or is it too much just to wait for around another $20k?
Will just give two more weeks, with all these debutants this week, will be perfect timing.

  22. Thanks for team info input ladies and gents…. updated post with all teams…. looks like stacks of new-blood avail this week.

  23. The names i’m most interested in of the many inclusions to sides this week are:
    HAW: Smith and Puopolo
BL: Drummond (only priced at $400K) and Retzlaff
    CARL: Watson

Watson’s on the bubble with scores of 71 and 58 and a BE of -58. Cheap too!! Thinking my Duigan to Hibberd trade may become Duigan to Watson and leave Hibberd til next week. Either way i’m 99% likely to go for Higgins to Priddis ….. so if you have Priddis i’m sorry but he’s likely to stink it up for you this week!!

  24. What about Alex Johnson from the Swans as a downgrade target for Duigan?

He is playing his 3rd game (is on the bubble) on 103K and has DPP status forward/back…

  25. with libba out, i have a question for you fellow supercoachers
thumbs up: play harris and heppell (defence)
thumbs down: play stanley/toy/mckernan(most likely stanley) and heppel (mid)

  26. Not sure who to bring in thumbs up for Chappy thumbs down for Fyfe

please keep in mind that i already have 3 freo players in my team and i have no geelong players….

  27. Why is everyone getting rid of Libba? Fair enough he is not playing this week but he is nowhere near his potential as a cash cow?
Surely there are better options out there?

    He will be back

  28. Okay boys only wanting to make one trade this week, what do you think of these?

    Trade 1
Higgins > any midfielder I want (Priddis, Mundy etc…)

    Trade 2
    Duigan > Hibberd

    Trade 1= Thumbs up
    Trade 2= Thumbs down

But I would like to see Hibberd play his second game before picking him up, then the next week after that I can trade out Stanley for Puopolo 🙂

  29. already made my two trades this week, focused on getting money for a premium next week. ($192,000)
heres my dilemma. do i go for someone like mundy or priddis, or do i go for someone like dal santo, montagna or another star that is yet to prove their worth this year?

  30. Libba out has got me thinking…
Should I trade out Libba or Tapscott for Chapman
Libba is out due to general soreness and might not even get selected again. However if Libba continues he’s average he is set to rise another 67k however it will take him 4 weeks and thats also if he gets reselected next week.
Tapscott however is priced at 230k however if tapscott continues he’s average, he is set to rise 60k over 3 rounds. However tapscott has recently scored 2 bad scores below 60 I think, so he might not even net another 60k with 3 rounds. Melbourne also plays the crows, kangas, and saints in the next 3 rounds.
Common sense says Libba, but what do you think guys?
    Thanks

  31. Hey guys,
In a bit of a problem.
My first year doing supercoach properly and I’m stuck,
Due to Rioli and Higgins both being rested this week and Krak having a bye I will be left with a donut so I might be forced to trade someone in my forward line.
My forward line at the moment is. Franklin, Harvey, Rioli, Yarran, Tapscott, Jurrah, Matera, Higgins, Krakouer, and C. Richardson.
I was thinking about getting J. Riewoldt or Murphy but I’m not sure.

    Can someone help me out?

I’m the same but I’m probably trading Curnow for Chappy. You could maybe do the same and move Krak into your mids?

    Or someone else with MPP?

  37. love the hysteria of supercoaches when the teams are listed….

who will play? who’s dropped? who will be sub? who’s injured?

*great 2 see drummond back…cant wait 2see his form (supercoach wise). wish i had adcock. i like the feel of adcock, he feels good, adcock seems 2 be hard at the ball, whenever i watch adcock my mouth waters.

*no libba means some rearranging…possibly even sum DPP action to some teams this weekend. its like the bye gav us the shits….& now that u thought all that shifting of players u did a million times 2 cover ur team was over…it leaves a tiny lil piece of poo left on the bowl in the form of an injured libba.

    * what did cam pedersen do 2 brad scott?
    what happened?
    did he call him chris?
why cant he get a game? even as a sub?

    * who creamed their supercoach pants when u heard mzunga will be playin soon?…. i did. i also did it again when puopolo & i.smith were named.

    * im gonna be a puopolo groupie….everyone will be kickin outta bed duigan or otten & in walks paul poo poo….maybe even SC threesome with a fever free ben jacobs when he gets into ports side.
    *
    * Loving the price drops of superstars like Riewoldt (both), didak, gibbs, lake, goddard, selwood, hodge…& to a lesser extent sam gilbert, rawlings, h.taylor, o’keefe & l.davis. ummm i take last one back.

great website (better than that other one)…..its awesome 2 read everyones thoughts, opinions, debates!

P.S am i the only person who THINKS comparing dream team 2 supercoach is like comparing a stinky turd 2 a shiny diamond? geez the way they score the players….its just a possession game. all style….no substance.

  38. I heard a lot of people are jumping onto the isaac smith bandwagon soon. im not exactly sold on his JS or scoring ability, and IMO his the ‘perfect sub’. he’ll probably get dropped for rioli when he comes back so i dont think his a great rookie target.

  39. What’s the feel on Hibberd will he play, because i like many others are thinking Duigan down to Hibberd but if he is not playing i might bring someone else in

    PETRIE- BAILEY
SEEING AS I ALREADY HAVE ZAC SMITH AS RUCK COVER WHY SHOULDNT I TAKE THE 200K?

    THUMBS DOWN- BAD TRADE

My Team sucks but i would like some comments, laugher even. Cheers

Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, R. Murphy, Grimes, Lower, Thompson, Puopolo(Toy, Pedersen, Duigan)

  45. My plan for the coming weeks in SuperCoach.
    Starting team Round 7
Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, R. Murphy, Grimes, Lower, Thompson, Puopolo(Toy, Pedersen, Duigan)

Mids: Judd, Boyd, Redden, Heppell, Curnow, Swallow(Swan, Pendlebury, Harris)

    Rucks: Cox, Sandilands(Smith, Derrickx)

Forwards: Buddy, Nick, Goodes, Yarran, Darling, Tapscott, Matera(Krakouer, Higgins, McKernan)
    Kitty: 62k
    Trades remaining: 14
    Round 8 Trades
    Duigan(approx 260k) to Hibberd 93k
    Kitty: 229k
    Trades remaining:13
    Round 9 Trades
    Harris 310k to Mzunga 110k
    Matera 250k to Chapman 540k
    Kitty: 239k
    Trades remaining:11

    Round 10 Trades
    Toy 230k to Enright/Deledio 460k leaning Lids
    Kitty:9k
    Trades remaining:10
    Round 11 Trades
    Lower 300k to 111k Player
Thompson 300k to any one under490k
    Remaining trades: 8
Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, Premium, Deledio, R. Murphy, Grimes, Heppell (Puopolo, Rookie, Pedersen)

Mids: Swan, Pendlebury, Judd, Boyd, Redden, , Curnow, (Swallow, Hibberd, Mzunga)

    Rucks: Cox, Sandilands(Smith, Derrickx)

Forwards: Buddy, Nick, Goodes, Yarran, Darling, Chapman, Higgins(Krakouer, Tapscott, McKernan)
Leaves me with all premium except for my last position on each line. Heppell, Curnow and Darling.
With 8 trades left I will I use 6 of them to upgrade Heppell, Curnow and Darling as long as they don’t turn out to be keepers.
In the first round of the finals I most likely wont have any North players. I plan to miss the second round of finals where Geelong has the bye. Must win first final after finishing top 4. Carlton has the bye Round 23 so im hoping my bench players might step up or I could use the last 2 trades as I shouldn’t have any Essendon players to worried about.
Fingers crossed this is the PLAN to see me to the 50 large.

  46. Am looking for an upgrade and a POD player. Wouldn’t mind your thoughts on the following trades …

    Libba – Harltett (POD)
    Tapscott – Fyfe (Upgrade)

    Thanks guys …

  47. At the moment ive got bewick, irons & richardson doing nothing on the bench. Bewick and richardson should be back in the next few weeks so im happy to hold onto them, BUT irons has been relegated to the rookie list again and isnt getting games, he is worth 118k.

Should I “sideways” trade irons for wright, wallis etc or just hold onto him.
Im sure eventually he’ll get a few games but i doubt he’s going to be a top notch cow. Ive used 5 trades so far this season.

    Cheers

  48. Who to bench?

Def – Thinking Duigan, Stanley and Toy. With Lower and L Thompson on the field

Mid – Swan, Harris and Libba. With Swallow and Heppell on the field
Not sure who to bench Harris or Swallow……..

Fwd – C Richardson, Matera and Tappscott. With Knights on the field
Another toss of the coin between Knights and Tapscott

  49. Have 144k in bank.
    Current backline:
(Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Grimes, Heppell, Lower, Duigan….Otten/Toy,Puopolo)

    ===Thumbs Up===
    Duigan -> L.Thompson
    Otten -> Adcock

    ===Thumbs Down===
    Duigan -> Hibberd
    Otten -> Deledio

Leaning towards options 1 because not sure about Hibberds JS and already got Heppell, any other ideas?

  50. Hmmm ….. i’ve done some thinking and analysis (rather than my usual Friday morning of posting inane commentson SuperCoach Talk and on Facebook).

Come around on Alex Johnson and looking like trading him in on the following basis:
    FOR:
    * Rnd 3 – 50; Rnd 4 – 42; Rnd 5 – Bye; Rnd 6 – Missed through injury; Rnd 7 – back into the side …… to me this makes me think that Johnson is definitely part of Longmire’s plans for the season ahead.
    * Cheaper than Thompson at Adelaide, thereby saving cash for an upgrade elsewhere (i’m bringing in the ultimate POD in Priddis)
    * Gives me another week to look at Hibberd (and maybe get him into the mids instead of down back) and another two weeks to look at Puopolo

    AGAINST:
    * Listed as 4th on the bench and is therefore ripe to be played as the sub. Can only hope that Josh Kennedy goes down early with an LTI, thereby vindicating my poor decision to trade him out of my team a few weeks back, and getting Johnson onto the field early.
    * Young kid that just did a hammy, enough said.

    What do people think of:
    Duigan >> Johnson
    and
    Higgins >> Priddis.

Still need to deal with Otten and Lester who are both on the pine down back but my theory is that there value isn’t going to drop when they’re not playing whereas Duigan’s likely to drop a little this week.

  51. Good people,

I have a dilemma. Last week I made the move in advance to trade out Otten for Thompson (a good move I believe), with the intention that I would then upgrade someone this week (i.e.: Duigan to Enright).

However, I made the mistake early on to lose my MID/DEF DPP in my midfield (even though I’ve got Goddard, Gibbs & Heppell in my defense), and whilst I still have all 3 bench players available in DEF, I now find myself in the position of having 5 of my 6 bench spots in the MID and FWD lines unavailable (Swan, Krakouer, Liberatore, Higgins & Richardson), with the only spot left probably going to Matera in the FWD line.

This leaves me with NO bench cover in my midfield, which has me rethinking my Duigan to Enright upgrade. SO, Should I:

    1. Continue with this upgrade and risk a possible donut in the midfield (if there’s a late injury / withdrawl), OR
    2. Use my trade instead to upgrade a midfield rookie (i.e.: Liberatore).

    Queries:

    – I was planning on getting Hibberd into my midfield next week (to cover this DPP issue between MID & DEF, but should I also bring in, say, Deledio this week?
    – The other option was to upgrade Liberatore to a MID/FWD DPP premium (i.e.: Chapman, Pavlich, etc), but I’ve technically still got Higgins (not ready to ditch him yet).

Apologies for all the questions … would love some solid feedback.

    Cheers again.

  52. Some help needed on this one. Zero expected in the front line with higgins out. I have $202k in the bank. My 2 options are:-

    1. Curnow -> Pavlich
Then move Pav into the forward line via Higgins MPP

    2. Higgins -> JRoo
    Curnow -> Chapman
Uses one more trade but gets JRoo cheap and banks more on higgins future problems. Also get Chappy into the team

    Thumbs up for option 1
Thumbs down for option 2 Thanks all

  53. This is the great part of teh season with lost of movement and considered planning needed.

I was very tempted to trade in Iles this week because I reckon he has good JS and will play well for the rest of the season. However, after some thinking I am going agaist it, why? This will leave me with 3 suns (Iles, Harris and Swallow) in the mids which at first I was not worried about because i plan to upgrade Swallow to Pav when GC have the bye. But then I realised if I do that trade in two weeks to upgrade Swallow to Pav I may miss out on some of the great rookies named tonight (ie. Puop, I.Smith and Retz just to name a few) – there could easily be two recruits ripe for the picking. So now my plan is to hopefully downgrade two cash cows on rd 9 and then upgrade to Pav the week after.

BTW I decided I missed the Thompson boat. Next week looking at downgrading Otten/Duigan to Hibberd and maybe even recruiting Harper.

  54. Need some help boys on who to play on the ground this week…

Option 1 – Harris on bench with dangerfield on in middle and Petrie on in FWD.

Option 2 – Harris on the ground in mids. Dangerfield moved back to FWD and is on ground over Petrie who goes to bench.

So really comes down to who will score more outa Harris and Petrie i guess. I know its not a huge deal but I cant decide. Thinking Harris this week against Brisbane should score well?? but he is named on bench… And Petrie could do anything, but besides his one big score has only scored in the 60’s….and they are playing Cats in geelong…

So thumbs up for option 1 and thumbs down for option 2!

  55. Cameron Pederson finally got another gig for the Kangas. He was a late change for someone, didn’t hear who for, but he will play his 2nd game for the year on Saturday, after scoring 114 points in Rd 1.

  56. It’s killing me but I have to trade Prestia for Iles as I am one short in mids due to Collingwood bye and libba not in. Still, it’s a $117,000 gain over next 2 rounds i guess.

So I guess my question is, are we sure of Iles talent above the other Wallis and Wright?

  62. a heap of coaches are trading duigan into a rookie. IMO, wait just 1 more week, then if he stinks it up, then trade him for a puopolo etc. he wont drop heaps, maybe 10k, 20k worst scenario. hold up on duigan.

  65. Hi Guys,

Got 2 options for trades this week.

Out: N.Reiwoldt (looks a bit iffy)
In: P.Chapman (consistency being the reason)

    OR

Out: L.Tapscott (Looks to have nearly maxed out in price)
In: J.Reiwoldt (Still cheap, may skyrocket quickly)

    Thumbs Up #1
    Thumbs Down #2
    Or comments, cheers

    Higgins >>> Pavlich

leaves me with a star player in my forward line and the same number of rookies plus a bit of dosh

  72. Does anyone else think first quarter scores are always so inflated??

    happens nearly every game

A player can be on 60 at half time and have another 6/7 touches and a couple of tackes with maybe 1/2 tackles and they end up on 63. Even when both quarters are close
