  32. If supercoach points take into account a player’s impact on the game, by my calculations Maric,s hair should get him an extra 10 -20 points a game. Spectacular!

  33. I think tonight was a good wake-up call for tipsters….. I also got sucked into the Tigers hype and actually logged in tonight before the game to make sure I tipped the Blues. I have now logged in to make sure I’ve tipped the Cats and Pies….. and actually changed my tip from Hawks to Pies. Lets face it at the end of the day teams don’t change ‘that much’ in the off-season, and the fact Hodge is out was my clincher. No offence Hawke supporters.

  34. Looks like Morris will get the small forward lock down role. He’ll be that little cow in the corner slowly but surely accumulating $$, but profits will be modest. If he gets to $250k, I think I’ll jettison him for fresh meat.

Reasonably happy with IvanMullet. If he can average over 90 I’ll be happy with that beforte upgrading him for finals.

  35. Could happen Fish. But he kept Garlett pretty quiet (as was his job), so why would he get dropped? Ellis has more chance to get the chop imo.

Murph and Dids got their tons and kennedy has his unexpected ton on the board but most of my players that have scored so far have been rookies. Mummy is the only other prem to have played.

    Morris (30) on field. Yuck.

Thanks to the guys who persuaded me to keep Murphy.
    Cheers.

Looks like D9 will be handed to Yagmoor. As much as I try, I just cannot find a way to upgrade him to Marty Clarke. Only one more day to find a solution. Time is scarce.

Offloaded Morris today and made Ellis E which was a welcome change in decision making given I swapped JMac and Shiel on the field with 5 mins to lockout and dropped 65 pts.
Happy at this stage with my POD decision to not pick Dusty with his terrible record in losses given their horror draw in the first six Rds.

  42. Think this’ll be it – unless I get some spare time this arvo

    Backs:
Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Lake, Golby, Clarke, Ellis (Bugg, Morris)
    Mids:
Ablett, Dal Santo, Boyd, Bartel, Sheil, Ledger (C Smith, Magner)
    Rucks:
    Cox, Hale (Redden, Giles)
    Forwards:
Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Porplyzia, D Smith, Dickson (Kennedy, Hall)

..and leaves only $1.7k in the bank

Any comments appreciated and good luck everyone!!

  43. I am not touching my team anymore as I actually need to get some work done so here it is.
    ABOUT TO GET REIMERED:
    Cash left $15,500
Goddard, Delidio, Shaw, Broughton, Golby, Clarke, Bugg, Smedts, Ellis
Ablett, Murphy, Joelwood, Watson, Coniglio, Magner, Ledger, Sheil
    Mumford, Giles, Redden, Stephenson
Franklin, Fyfe, Pavlich, Martin, Porplyzia, Kennedy, Smith, Pfieffer, Hall.

This gives me 8-11-11 on the byes and some regrets about the rucks but I would have to compromise elsewhere and I would only go for Cox (too much) or Kruezer (missed that boat).

Peace out and good luck everybody regardless of wether or not you are in the same league as me. (maybe) 🙂

  45. Not convinced Pfeiffer will make the final 22 for the Power. If I took a stab I reckon the bench will be K Cornes, Thomas (will be safe) with Broadbent & Logan nudging out Pfeiffer for the last 2 spots. Also keep in mind that Jackson Trengove (finger) and Robbie Gray will come back next week, so if Pfeiffer doesn’t make team for Rnd 1 will find it difficult, unless there are injuries. As for Robbie Gray – hamstring tightness and will miss just the 1 week. Was surprised to hear this, but will keep the faith, had Kennedy from GWS on my bench as emergency so all is not lost and will start Gray on the field and get Kennedy’s score, so if you’re in a similiar position to me all is not lost!

  46. Just realised I can afford Wingard in place of Pfeiffer.
If Pfeiffer is in the 22, I’ll keep him as my only M/F link in MID.
If not, I’m still really keen to keep the M/F cause I only have 3 premium mids (202 ruck sacrifice) but would need to punt on Pfeiffer, Couch, Kerridge to make it work.

Thumbs Up – Get Wingard in and forget the M/F link for now
Thumbs Down – Take a punt on Pfeiffer, Couch, Kerridge and keep the M/F

  48. Head spinning! Lockout just come around already so it’s settled

Trying to decide whether to hold onto a Mid/Fwd link – have Smith, Kennedy, Martin and Goodes in the FWD line already with a Mid link

Bartel / Fyfe (no M/F link) – thumbs up
Fyfe / Chapman (M/F link) – thumbs down

  49. Ok, I’m pretty well rock solid now so time to let the fish out of the bag.

Love to hear what all you gurus think.

    DEF
Deledio, Shaw, Birchall, Broughton, Heppell, Clarke, Ellis (Bugg, Morris)

    MIDS
Ablett, Mitchell, Selwood, Watson, McDonald, Magner (Ledger, Shiel)

    RUCKS
    Mumford, Redden (Giles, Stephensen)

    FWDS
Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Porplyzia, Smith, Smedts (Kennedy, Hall)

$26.6k in the bank and 1/4/4 2/3/3 1/2/1 2/3/3 Setup for the byes.

Bottled it on taking a massive punt on NicNat as my R1 but I still think Mummy will be in the top two rucks at season end so happy there (I think). Also had Lake for a long time but always made me twitchy so I went Pendles to Watson (who I think will be top ten mids) and upgraded to Heppell as a very solid POD.

Oh, and CARN THE MIGHTY HAWKERS tonight!!!!!

  50. I have the Friday afternoon rookie jitters, some advice please?

    DEF:
Deledio, Shaw, Broughton, Lake, Clarke, Ellis, Boumann (Bugg, Morris)

    MID:
Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Selwood, Shiel, Magner (Kennedy, Ledger)

    RUC:
    Cox, Mumford (Giles, Redden)

    FWD:
Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Sidebottom, Porplyzia, Smith D, Hall (Cameron, Dickson)

    $15,800 remaining.

My problem is that Spurr in the backs and Kerridge in the forwards didn’t get named, so now I am struggling to decide on a replacement. I have put in Boumann in the backs and Dickson in the forwards. Suitable?

Open to comments on who I should have in either position instead. Smedts? Yagmoor? Someone else?

    or

  52. Alright guys, it’s near enough to lockout now. Here’s the lineup. Considering I haven’t changed it in the last two weeks (except rookies), I don’t think it’ll budge before tonight’s game.

    Here goes:
Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Lake, Ellis, Bugg, Morris
    Smedts, Yagmoor

Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Selwood, McDonald, Magner
    Shiel, Ledger

    Cox, Mumford
    Giles, Redden

Franklin, Fyfe, Pavlich, Martin, Smith, Kennedy, Dickson
    Pfeiffer, Hall

    $30K banked for safe keeping.

    Fire away.

  54. Final team, no more changing for me!!!

Goddard, Shaw, Birchall, Broughton, Lake, Ellis, Bugg
    Smedts, Morris

Pendlebury, Ablett, Selwood, Watson, Coniglio, Magner
    Shiel, Ledger

    Mumford, Giles
    Redden, Stephenson

Franklin, Fyfe, Goodes, Martin, Porplyzia, Smith, Kennedy

  57. Think i am almost done, with some doubts still in mind.

    Hird of Me? – 2012

Goddard, Delidio, Shaw, Lake, Golby, Ellis, Morris
    (Clarke, Bugg)

Pendles, Ablett, Rockliff, Selwood, Mcdonald, Shiel
    (Pfeifer, Magner)

    Mumford, Redden
    (Giles, Stephenson)

Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Gray, Hale, Porplyzia, Smith
    (Dickson, Cameron)

I am aware Gray is not playing but i only think it is for 1 round, so i am going to keep him on bench and he will be even more of a POD, from round 2 onwards. Is it okay leaving Hall out?

Please use the thumbs up and down

    Thanks guys!

  59. Sorry but I gotta make another poll! I’m going crazy!
A.Swallow – Fixture starts off fairly nice, is now the captian, will be a good POD, slightly inconsistent but he versus GWS in the SC Grand final
Boyd – Also starts the year well with regard to fixtures, is their main man in midfield, can achieve some monster scores but also is prone to the odd 60. Versus Brisbane in the SC Grand final.

    Thumbs up – Boyd

    Thumbs down – Swallow

    Hale and Golby- thumbs up

    Broughton and Hall- thumbs down

Hale would keep my ruck stocks safer as back up.

  61. Boyd or Selwood. Both captains, both can get monster scores with some quiet games as well. Tough call although I already have 2 other midfielders with round 12 bye so Boyd makes more sense in that regard.

    Boyd- thumbs up
    Selwood- thumbs down

  62. Ok, really want Pendlebury from the get go, but leaves my def a little weak. So…

    Pendles/Smedts – Thumbs up
    Selwood/Dempsey – Thumbs down

Selecting one of these two to keep my current structure. Comments appreciated.
