  1. AFL didn’t make enough money from the TV broadcast rights so they had to sell the team sections rights to CH7 as well, #greedyhuckers

  5. Astounded. And now he says he stands by his comments even though he knows it was stupid and wrong. Why did you say it in the first place, then??? What a disgrace. How has he still got a job in the media? Mate, no one cares for your, I’ll put it loosely, “social commentary” and not when you say such things as this.

  6. God………. How could Hombsch get a run over Darley. He has been seen once the whole preseason and got 2 possession in a whole game. Blah.

  7. It’s only with the captains we get to choose who we bank isn’t it? We can’t gamble on magner not getting named can we? Or putting the e on bugg and playing darley?

  8. No Miles has messed me up here hey. Whats everyones thoughts on Mohr? Not going to be a big scorer, so says the word on the street.

  9. It’s only round 1 people. It’s not a league game. Darley not being picked isn’t the end of the world. If you like him, keep the faith. He’ll get a game early, and if he’s name for round 2 and you’ve given him the boot, you’ll kick yourselves. I remember keeping the faith with Isaac Smith last year, held onto him despite not being named in the early rounds, and he repayed my faith by scoring me hundreds!!! Keep the faith 🙂

  10. No, lock him in. Bloke is very suited to Supercoach and more midfield time & odd goal will not do him any harm.

  11. With the captain loophole, if your player that you’ve got vice captain scores a good scores (125+) is it really worth having a player on the field as captain that is not playing, because what if he is not playing for the next 5 rounds.
I know how it works and everything, you have an emergency for the non playing guy on the field. But i’m just not sure if it’s worth having a non playing player on the pine for weeks after round 1?

  12. So I’m assuming everyone who didn’t have him already swapped Shiel into their team, but is anyone game to start him on the field having only just come back from injury?

  14. Oh sorry , thought this was a site to talk about supercoach, considering the teams were just announced I would have thought we would have alot of footy to discuss, however all I am reading is immature bitching. Motts take charge of this rubbish!

  15. Thoughts on cox this year? I’m thinking he will slow down and start playing more forward and nic nat will play more in the ruck.

Just a quick one. In an attempt to solidify my backline, I am keen to bring in one of these two:

    Thumbs UP for Marty Clarke

    Thanks in advance.

  18. Buyer beware … still some big names to come back into that GWS side in the next couple of weeks. Who will make way?

I have hocked in Bugg and I think I am going to go with Mohr too. I know Mohr is a key back but his JS is excellent, $45K less thank Clarke (who does not have air-tight JS IMO) and NAB SC scores are ok – 34, 69, 76.

    What do you think?

  19. I am undecided about Smedts so here is a quick poll:

    Good JS – Thumbs up
    Questionable JS – Thumbs down

Can’t decide between Murphy and Watson

  21. The only remaining spot on my list. Have swapped these guys around more times than Ron Jeremy at a swingers party. So I’ll let u all decide for me:
    Thumbs up – Marc Murphy
    Thumbs down – Chris Judd

  22. Well, all my GWS guys are in… Can stop obsessing for 5 minutes!
Who is everyone going to go for as Captain for the loophole? Goodes tearing up the kids maybe??
I’ve never used the loophole as I’m still unsure it won’t backfire! (only coz I’ve got it wrong)

  23. For a spot on the bench in my forward line who do you think is the better option, i think cameron has better JS but might not roll out many big scores.
Thumbs up – Adam Kennedy (fwd/mid)

    Thumbs down – Jeremy Cameron

  24. Well somewhat annoyed that Shiel’s picked as everyone will get on him now. Plus it seems Sheeds decided to help with my indecision over Darley and Bugg by not naming one of them.

  25. Not sure what about the team sheets being released made all Le Wild Trolls appear, how dare they try to compromise the integrity of our close-knit community, based solely on the topical issue of our supercoach teams (though saw one poll asking for girl advice, it was rather humorous).

  26. Has anyone got the NRL Footy Show on in the background? It seems they are well and truly shitting themselves about the introduction of GWS and the potential threat it has on damaging the NRL product. They’re doing a special from out of Blacktown, or somewhere in Western Sydney and are drumming their game up as the “greatest game in the world” (seriously I reckon I’ve heard them say it at least half a dozen times).

  27. Just finished watching the opening of the Footy Show over here on “South African time” and have been touched by the incredibly self deprecating humility shown by Gelly.
Having enjoyed a ten year career in an Olympic team sport and experiencing the loss of a former team mate at age 33 from bone cancer, it is a surreal experience that puts many things we take in life for granted in true perspective.
The legacy of Jimmy will be long, deep and rich. As an example, my 9yo son albeit being obsessed with his footy, commented to me last night on hearing the report of his passing on the news, that he “played 12 years without missing a game!”
Whilst I acknowledge that this is a Fantasy Footy forum and some may find this post “off topic” I offer no apology for this indulgence as a long term supporter of this site.
What I would like to appeal to those of us that have posted negative, discourteous or bordering on vitreolic posts within particularly this thread is to find your closest mirror and reflect on your, your loved ones’ and your mates’ mortality whilst having a long hard look at yourselves!

    RIP big fella.

  28. The site got trolled last night by an individual calling themselves amongst other things JIMBO, Barry, Sitch, The Situation, Aah No, Clarky, Alex and I’m sure I couple of others that I’ve missed. I’ve just spent the last 20 minutes deleting every last vestige of his presence and now I’m shaming him.

We don’t appreciate Trolls on this site. Don’t come back.

  29. I’d seriously doubt anyone has him but this came up on my FB feed this morning: Jason Gram out for a month with a hamstring complaint.

  30. My team is ready to go but I have Cunningham. Looks like he could be up for the vest this weekend and possibly many other times. I’ve only $4k left in the kitty so cant see anyone else on the list. Only thing I can think of is

    Keep Cunningham (Thumbs up)

Change D Smith to Cameron and change Cunningham to Kennedy (thumbs down)

What should I do? I like having Smith in my forward line but bringing in Kennedy for Cunningham also opens up DPP

  31. I have a question that I have no idea what to do.
I have Coniglio, Wingard, McDonald and Shiel as my rookies in the midfield.
I have noooo clue who to put on the field and bench.
I was leaning towards Coniglio and McDonald but then Shiel was named in the middle and Wingard (well his team hasn’t been put up yet soo…)

    Let me know your thoughts??
    Cheers fellas

  32. For those going with a 1/3 ruck strategy, are you starting Redden on the field?

Dont fancy putting Giles in against Mummy but should we have Giles as emergency to cover if Redden somehow doesnt play. It will be too late to add him as the emergency after the game

Wouldnt be nice to start with a doughnut

  33. Still keep Miles? Even though he was not named, or go someone more reliable but potentially wont score as much like J. McDonald who of course has been named.

  34. Okay I’m stuck…
Have both Coniglio and Mcdonald in my midfield, though only have 1 spot to fill. Which one do you think will have the better game.
    Thumbs up: Coniglio.
    Thumbs down: McDonald.

    Please help, Cheers
