    1. I can see Nank averaging as much as Roughy if he rucks solo and he provides ruck coverage. Roughy has history/experience on his side though. Constantly changing between the two and it will probably come down to how much I want/need ruck coverage.

  1. Witts as R3. If he is No 1 ruckman he will make money and saves having to have Forward/Ruck cover for Sandilands.

    T/T Good idea

    T/D Donโ€™t be stupid

  2. t/u: taranto starting on field (midfield)

t/d and comment: other players for similar price

I am aware that he is low down the list at GWS, but he is young and showed great potential in preseason, and obviously he is somewhat important to GWS as he was a very high draft pick.

    Suggestions please!! thanks

    1. Think I saw somewhere he’ll likely cover for an injured regular in the first month, can anyone clarify? But sure looks the goods!

      1. Lids and now Coniglio are injured early rounds which should be enough to see him squeeze into the best 22 available. His spot to lose.

  3. T/U: Michael Hibberd @ $402k D3 and Michael Barlow M4
    T/D: Clayton Oliver @ $382 M6 and Heath Shaw D1
Comment: Pull your head in – neither!

Taking the win-or-die Midpricer Madness tactic into 2017, we’ve never had a better time to implement it with the midpricer quality available and lack of cheapies. Thanks!

  4. To mid-price or not to mid-price, that is the question

    T/U O’Meara (M7), Nankervis (R1) and Steele (F4)

    T/D Brodie (M7), Gawn (R1), and Rookie (F6)

Other mid-pricers already in team – Beams (M6), Sandi (R2) and Roughead (F3)

  5. TU: Sandilands, Marchbank and Heppell (with 150k to upgrade elsewhere)
TD: Grundy, Mills and D. Swallow

  6. TU – Pendlebury
    TD – Treloar

I have never gone into a season without Pendles but I have a feeling there’s a changing of the guard in terms of highest ranked Magpie.

  7. T/U Roughhead and Ryder (backup Ruck)

T/D Steele and Ryder (backup Ruck)

Or Comment Roughhead and Steele and Witts R3

My Rucks are Nankervis and Sandilands

    Midprice Madness driving me insane

      1. Witts at R3 as backup Ruck and make abit of $$$ don’t like the look at having him at R2

It might all change if Gawn goes solo

    1. Nankervis if you don’t mind picking up R3/F7 now, Ryder if you want someone capable of being F6 for the season.

  8. Pendels or Treloar ?. Pendels has always been my guy. I’ve never gone a season without him. However that achilles is worrying…

    TU -Pendels
    TD- Treloar

    16
  9. TU – Bontempelli and taranto (onfield)
TD – cheaper rookie (eg hibberd) and hannebery with powell-pepper on field and $70,000 in bank

  11. T/up – Bont
    t/down – Priddis

choosing between a bloke who could have a potential breakout year or a proven scorer

      1. So many variables to this question. Dare say we’ll need to wait until team announcements and whether Spencer/Preuss are named. All things being equal though, I’d pick Gawn.

  12. dunno what to do

    T/up –
Mid… Danger, JPK, Treloar, Priddis, Fyfe, Beams, JOM, Powell-pepper

Fwd… Dahlhaus, Franklin, Roughead, Nankervis, parfitt, eddy
    (Leaves me with 91k)

    or

    T/down
Mid… Danger, JPK, Treloar, Priddis, Fyfe, Ward, Beams, Powell-Pepper

Fwd… Dahlhaus, Franklin, Roughead, Taranto, Parfitt, Eddy

    1. About the same.

Taranto should get a gig with Deledio and Coniglio out.
Florent should get a gig with Papley and Heeney out.

I have both, but would pick Florent of the two as he’s slightly cheaper if picking one.

    1. Alternative choices (don’t vote in both polls!):

TU: They’ll both win it in the same year
TD: Neither will win a Brownlow during their career

  13. Good scoring potential, great price, questionable job security… if named in Round 1, should we pick Andy Otten?

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

  14. Along the same lines: good scoring potential, great price, questionable job securityโ€ฆ if named in Round 1, should we pick Harrison Wigg?

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

P.S. If you can think of another rookie in the same boat, feel free to copy this format.

  15. T/U Marchbank, Brodie, Florent

    T/D Otten, O’Meara, Butler/Houston

With the shortage of secure rookies the first option gives a better chance of job security/cash generation but the second gives me O’Meara and possibly more points.

    1. Tom Mitchell? Excellent pre-season 119,109 sc both games, very durable hasnโ€™t missed a game in 2 years because of any injurys, #1 Mid at Hawthorn, a inside midfielder = hard to tag, highest possesion getter in both JLT games he played in Hawthorn

  16. TU – Hannebery mid, Ryder down forward with nankervis and Sandilands ruck
TD – Steele midfield with Gawn and Sandilands ruck and nankervis down forward.

  17. Reasonable scoring potential, great price, questionable job securityโ€ฆ if named in Round 1, should we pick Lewis Melican?

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

    1. Locked in my team. Lowest on the pecking order for me in defence though and will be the first to go if better options come up.

  18. Got 2nd pick in draft league – assume danger goes #1.
    Thumbs up – gawn
    Thumbs down – pendles/treloar/fyfe

        1. Going for a ruck is probably not a bad idea then. If the top 3-4 are taken by the time it comes around again, you’ll be losing a fair few points in this position. The difference in points from ruck #1 and #10 is greater than midfielders #1-10

  19. With Tendai Mzungu (MID, $245,800) having been upgraded to GWS’ senior list, is he worth a look?

    TU: Yes
    TD: No
