      1. Too late for me. Mid rookies havnt earned anywhere near enough money to make it a worthwhile trade.

    1. I don’t care at all about rookie cash generation at this time of year, purely points and JS. can Hately hold his spot for a while with DeBoer out?

      1. I think you have to judge that on him. If he plays his role (whatever it may be) and plays it well enough, it’ll be his to lose.

Too late for me. Points are more important and what I have lying around will be enough to use what trades I have left wisely.

If he doesn’t play another game this year, he’ll be priced low $300k’s next year. If he does … he won’t be SC relevant for another year at least 🙁

        1. just need him to play 3 games and average 90 and he’s 330K + … and if he’s pumping out 90’s then you can hold off on your last midfield upgrade for a bit??

          1. Both good points mate.

I know you’re going real well too, so if he’s gonna help you climb even higher then go for it and good luck 😉

  2. Logue is definitely being traded in this week, but with my other trade I was going to go Answerth to Sloane. Now that Hately is named, is he a must-have this week? Is it worth putting off my final midfield upgrade in order to get Hately’s immediate cash?

    1. You aren’t getting the cash instantly as you will still have to trade him out for that. You are also relying on him to stay in the team for the next few weeks. Is it worth it at this stage of the year to use trades for downgrades when you should be almost full premo and won’t need too much money for any sideways/injury trades?
If you feel you have enough cash gen rookies in your team that should get you enough cash to full premo, then he isn’t really necessary. If you are lacking then he is more important but remember, he has to play after this week too!

      1. Great points Nato, I think you’ve talked me out of Hately.

For some context, I have one midfield spot left to upgrade (will be Sloane this week), and one defender spot (will most likely wait for Whitfield to return, or Hurn if he drops low enough). 9 trades left before any trades this week.

    2. Same deal for me, bAps. Bringing him in delays an upgrade, was planning to finally cull Darling who’s going to lose heaps of cash this week. Argh. Hately will make 80k~ like that *clicks fingers. Hmm.

Think we need a poll on this.

      1. Totally agree with GB. If you’ve got benchwarmers who are still earning and have reasonable JS….ie: Baker, Answerth, Naish, D.Clarke, Bewley. I wouldn’t be bringing in Hately unless I had no decent cash gen and 2 spare trades….because he’ll need to be traded out soon. JS definitely not excellent and we’re running out of rounds.

    3. Hately only becomes significant if he remains in the side and becomes a good back-up for your premos in case one gets suspended or injured.

  3. Unless you have heaps of trades left bringing Hately in to sit on your bench seems a massive risk. Given how reluctant GWS has been to give him a game there would seem to be a reasonable level of probability that he will be first one out for Whitfield or someone else. As much as I’m tempted I’m going to pass.

  4. On a side issue why do coaches bring in a stein type , who plays well and then gets dropped.
Is there a point to it?
Remembering hateley was left out yet again to accommodate him.
    No i don’t have either.

    1. Just realised perhaps stein is gone because haynes came back earlier than expected, anyway coaches do funny things.

  5. Leon on Cameron

“He’s been a bit unlucky not to have played more footy,” Cameron said.

“Obviously the senior team’s been strong for most of the year. It’s good for players to do some hard yards and learn and understand what AFL footy is about.

“He comes in off the back of some really good form and we’re really rapt with that. When he has played AFL footy he doesn’t look out of place so he’s keen to get going Thursday night and we’re looking forward to seeing how he goes.”
