How much is Dal? I have 18 also, and if I can’t get in GAJ from Porps -> Zorko then I will grab Nicky Dal!

After this week will be 14, have been lucky with injuries but have been pretty trigger happy on upgrades to try and get team set for the byes. Plus am in the hunt for the overall prize. Now that I only have two starting rookies on the field in horsley and treloar, I will probably hold off on further upgrades until after round 11, barring LTI’s.

Team:

Chinos heroes

Ranked 1200 odd

Undefeated in one and only league

Deledio, Goddard, birchall, waters, broughton, lake, Clarke (bower, Ellis)

Ablett, pendlebury, bartel, dal santo, Gibbs , horsley (McDonald, Adams)

Sandilands, kreuzer (Giles, Stephenson)

Dangerfield, Franklin, sidebottom, chapman, Martin, porplyzia, treloar (zorko, Walsh)

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 3 Thumb down 7

Wow mate. That’s an incredible team you’ve got there. I’ve been struggling a lot this year through injury, but mainly due to poor rookie selection. I’ve still got 7 starting rookies on the field (either 5 or 6 after this week). This time last season I was around your position in the overall rankings, but this year back at 26,000 odd. Have learnt a fair bit from this season that will put me in good stead for next year though.

Liking the fact that you have Giles to upgrade whenever you want!
That could mean a Mid Pricer or Cash Cow could become a Premium whenever you decide to hit the button. Nice

By the way guys, am having my best season yet and owe alot to all you guys on this site, although I don’t always take your advice, you always make me look at the bigger picture and entice me to have more consideration to my player management, so thanks to all and keep it comin’

I think it’s worth the trade BDM, he will only be warming the bench, and besides Giles and bower, none of my other rookies had enough cash to allow me to go magnet to dal santo. If couch is named this week, I will go him instead.

Even if he isn’t playing this week I would be looking to go to Couch. It is a certainty he will play in the next few weeks- I’m a dees supporter and I’m about 4 weeks away from a game!! He plays midfield and is a proven ball winner which = good points. If you’re not too fussed about his score because he’ll be on the bench earning money theres so much more potential through a midfielder than a young key position forward so for mine its an easy one.

You nearly have me persuaded BDM, think I need a poll:

Thumbs up Walsh

Thumbs down couch

Comment, other alternate trade to get dal santo. If I hit reverse button only have 20k in bank hence the reason smith is in the gun at 260k

I held Couch for the first 6 rounds of the season, finally axing him 2 weeks ago. We’ve all been saying he’ll get a game for weeks, but there’s something keeping him out of the side at the moment. Buy him now only to be frustrated each week when the teams come out. No harm done in waiting for his name to be listed. Who’d want a Melbourne player anyway.

What Ya Mean May 22, 2012 at 11:31 pm

i wouldnt go neither chino, walsh isnt a good enough key position player to buy and i think the only reason couch hasnt got a game is coz he is to similar to magner and the other bald bloke number 2 f#*k his name has completly lost me lol. they can win the ball but no pace and not exactly lace out deliverers. IMO.

Jones.

You woud think though that Neeld’s playbook has gone out the window at this stage and he needs to play guys that are at least going to have a go.
Their outside mids they have carefully selected via many years of concessions and Rd1 picks have not delivered or had LTIs so you would think now is a time to batten down the hatches in an attempt to change the “no bruise” culture.

Interested to hear you’re not keen on Zorko. Mature aged, and I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen of him. I could also buy Jenkins, as I’m sitting on Cox, Mumford, Giles, Redden in the rucks.

Mumford > Jenkins would free up $500k for nearly 3 upgrades in future, keeping Giles as 2nd ruck. Only issue is I’d be down 3 rucks in Rd11, 4 if Redden doesn’t get named.

Other option is Giles > Jenkins freeing up $300k and would leave Cox and Mumford as starting rucks.

As soon as Mumford gets named his price will plummet, and he doesn’t seem to be $200k better than Giles. (may average anywhere from 0-15 points better than Giles upon his return.

Thoughts Chino?

Firstly already have zorko (forward bench)

Secondly: can’t believe u have held onto Mumford this loooong!!! Even if he comes back in the next couple I would ditch him. You definetly have to think about the byes but i would have pulled that trigger loooooong ago! Maybe giles to Jenkins, mummy to sandilands? Leaving plenty of $$$

Just been holding him for so long because all the other premium rucks have had their problems and there have been no great downgrade targets. Better set and forget in the rucks I’ve learnt.

15 left, probably only going to get Zorko in this week. Pretty happy with my side as it stands though.

Deledio, Goddard, Broughton, M Clarke, Lake, Birchall, Spurr (Bugg, Morris)

Pendlebury, Kennedy, Boyd, Dangerfield, Ablett, Horsley (Bugg, McDonald)

Giles, McIntosh (Redden, Stephenson)

Sidebottom, Franklin, Zaharakis, Pavlich, D Martin, Porplyzia, Dickson (D Smith, Hall)

Might look at doing Smith -> Zorko this week and thats about it. Only other consideration would be Bugg or Morris to Scotland, but I think I’ll hold off for now as I’m doing well in all my leagues.
