Trade Or Hold #2 – Rd14

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 22 2018

Matt Crouch was a popular pick at the beginning of the season and started accordingly with a 105 against the Bombers in Rd1.  After injuring a hamstring in Rd2, Crouch missed the subsequent three weeks.

Despite averaging 30 disposals each week and scoring four tons from seven games since returning, Crouch’s price has dropped below $500k due to a 68 against Freo.  His disposal efficiency dropped to 56% against Hawthorn where he still missed a ton after having 30 touches.

So what would you do with Crouch if you had him in your side?  Is he the sort of player to cost you a Final down the track?

  1. He will never go large but if you want 105 every week he’s your man. He has now had enough time to get his fitness back and he’s usually very efficient so expect more consistency for the rest of the year.

  2. I’ve got him and plan to hold. The way he came out and scored after the byes last year has me hopeful! If he can score anywhere close to that I’m happy. Still looked a little ginger I reckon the bye will do him well, very reliable scorer and contested ball winner

  3. wouldn’t bring him in or hold him unless Sloane was there to absorb the tag , maybe in a couple of years the kid will be strong enough to do it on his own ..

  4. His run through the finals is pretty good so if you’re playing for a league win he’s probably worth hanging on to.
