Trade Or Hold Rd11 #2

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 31 2019

‘Just a knock to the hip’, they said………’he’ll be back next week’, they said.  Matt Crouch has one of the dodgiest hips in AFL history.  Now approaching his 3rd week on the sidelines, what would you do if you had Matt Crouch in your team?

What to do with Matt Crouch (ADE) ?

  1. Crouch has a small muscle strain near his ab. That’s normally a 3 week injury but Adelaide have hoped he could play through it. He will be back next week so he’s certainly a hold now. Top 8 mid.

    1. Agreed if you have held this far & you don’t need to trade to avoid a donut then hold IMO

  2. Personally believe hes overrated he averaged 92 in 2016, 110 in 2017 when crows were a powerhouse but only average 101 in 2018 plus he seems too always get injured. I dont believe hes a top 8 mid. If you have the cash to upgrade to J.Kelly id reccomend pulling the trigger.

    1. He was in his 3rd season in 2016, 92 is exceptional. He also had 2 injury affected games in 2018 and the averaged 112 post bye, closer to his output. When fit, he will average 110-115 from here.

  3. If you have had him this long, I’d be holding rather than burning a trade. I feel there are bigger priorities at the moment than Matt Crouch.

  4. Yes correct but, hes sitting on the bench and if your team is falling behind the 8 ball id suggest pulling the trigger, and with no decent rookies on the bubble this week it wouldnt be the worst idea if you have 15-17 trades left after round

    1. The reality is how many teams are really a chance to win SuperCoach Australia, don’t waste trades

    1. rocky is very likely to be ‘managed’ – so wont travel to China…not 100% but my insider source is pretty spot on

      1. You are kidding yourself and just crapping on that you had inside information.

It was confirmed Rocky was travelling to China 3 days ago and it was confirmed before the teams were announced last night that Rocky would be out.

At 10.30am on a Friday morning this is your inside information. lol.

        1. sure whatever DH, just trying to be helpful, I don’t get to see or read much AFL news and when I hear something from my club that is Supercoach relevant I share it, is this ok with you?

          1. I am not sure you are actually trying to be helpful giving misinformation about a player when the correct information was given out 3-4 days and a day earlier.

  5. I don’t trust M Crouch…often injured and gets soft stats…..little kicks backwards are not sc friendly.

    1. Agree, & because of that i wouldn’t suggest trading him in even if super cheap but couldn’t justify trading him now if you have him,

  6. I lost my patience with him. Starting to slip down the ranks due to these injuries and trying not to trade premos who are supposedly just going to miss 1 or 2 games.

      1. 100% been a listed as a “hip injury” despite them doing scans the next day showing a small tear in his abdominal muscle which has a 3 week+ recovery time.

  7. Yep gonna trade crouch and keep rocky as he should be fit after his r12 bye. Cant afford to keep slipping down the ranks holding an premo averaging 100 who keeps getting ruled out and no certainty he will be 100% when hes back. Josh Kelly here I come.

  8. Williams is a bit different, 500K is a great price from where he started, & looks a chance to re-injure or even be rested on the run home. get him up to Lloyd, Hurn, Whitfield if you don’t have them.

    1. Crouch was averaging 107 before his injury, which would have him the 14th best midfielder – 5ppg off being top 8.

Williams was going at 96, being the 10th best def – 6ppg off being top 6.

Am personally most likely to trade Williams, as I still have Smith, and one was always going to make way at some point.

    1. Really don’t like Bakers JS. Melb has a massive injury list – something like only 10 players from last years prelim played against the Eagles a couple of weeks ago. If Baker was killing it, then maybe, but with May, Lever and Kolo to come in soon (next week?), plus maybe Lewis and Lockhart, it makes it tough for him.

  9. A sub $500k M.Crouch is coming STRAIGHT into my side after Adelaides bye. My best trade in last season.

        1. Cheers. Africa was amazing! Not quite home as we landed in Mauritius last night and here for 5 nights but finally have a decent internet connection. Tried watching the highlights of the game but the internet in Botswana was not having a bar of it.
