Trade Or Hold Rd17 #3

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 12 2019

Griffin Logue started his season well with 93 & 103 and a large number of SuperCoaches planned on holding him at D7 as a back-up option for the rest of the season.

Enter Ross Lyon…………………After an insipid display against the Eagles, Logue has been dropped for Rd17 against the Hawks.  The whisper around Twitter is that Luke Ryan is strugglng to be fit for the game on Saturday.  Logue would then be a late inclusion.

So what would you do with Griffin Logue?

What to do with Griffin Logue (FRE)?

  1. I am trading him to a sub premo (maybe Sheppard) this week to avoid a donut and not keen to go early on Quaynor as its burnt me this year already with Gardner, Naish, Young on my bench.

      1. This is what I’m weighing up. Gives me fwd cover with Gardner. New role seems to be suiting him, would hate to see him dropped again though.
Currently have Gardner and Young fwd. Logue, Answerth down back.

        TU- Logue to Silvagni
TD- Logue to Hanrahan via Gardner.

      2. I couldn’t bring myself to do it, only 2 career 100s and an average of 60 would need to see more from him for sure.

        1. My concern is i have logue at d6 so to trade him to silvagni will still cost another precious trade to go full prem. Have the cash, and concerned about Ryan, so welcome pod recruit crisp along with grundy…finally in for rob.

          1. Yeah, not worth the risk of wasting a precious trade. I’ll just pocket the cash from Logue to Hanrahan, which should leave me enough for a straight swap of Smith to Whitfield next week and four trades for injury/luxury trades.

      1. I have Sicily at D6….just to clarify. But ‘huge points to be had’??

Based on what? His season to date has been up and down and the last 6 weeks has been poor, bar last round.

@allsaints made a good point during the week about jumping on the Sicily bandwagon….I’d be ultra cautious about bringing him in if it’s consistent big scores your after.

        1. IF he stays down back, he’s more than proven of being capable of going large and being fairly consistent. Clarko would be mad to play him fwd again, but saying that, he seems to be a bit mad this year!

            1. Devils advocate…..vs….price…..vs…..potential..= who traded in Jeremy Cameron after a 150+ score?

              1. If you’re bringing Sicily in, it shouldn’t be because of the 140 he scored last week, it should be because of the discount from the 40 he scored the week before.

Fallen premium, should average 100 from here (if he plays back) but priced about 100k below his average.

  2. I have Ryan as D5 and Logue as D6 with no cover. Was planning on upgrading Logue, but don’t want to be stuck with a Donut if Ryan is a late out. :/

  3. My plan was to upgrade Burgess & leave logue as d7 for cover…
With him being dropped, unsure he will.last the finals & I am leaning towards trading him out.
I also have the problem of Hore…
I had planned for him to.be my d6.
    Sc2019 is going really well

  4. Hold!

    currently have Logue at d6,
    Burgess and Gardner on bench.

    gunna trade Burgess > Quaynor
and Field Quaynor with Logue on the bench.

  5. A few points to add:

Logue wasn’t on the plane to MEL apparently. Duman was so,
    > very unlikely Logue will play this week sadly.

Silvagni has been named on HF flank with Cripps back, so am not as convinced as I was on him. Might return to his mean. Yuk.

As Wighty says, I’d probably hold if you if you can avoid a donut and don’t have many trades left.

You can also wait til last minute Saturday if you have the time to put aside. Make a plan tho’, especially for Ryan.

    1. Sound advice as always…logue to Crisp it is as I said above…I dont trust Ryan. Whitfield for Duursma next week finishes team, and three spare trades.

  6. Sooooo glad I’ve held Answerth at D7 for this long. Finally the SC gods recognise my loyalty.

Either Logue or Answerth gone next week for Sicily and I’m at full premo.

    1. Yep Answerths score last week was brilliant timing. I was going to trade him this week. Can keep him now and trade Logue and get Whitfield next week.
