Trade Or Hold – Rd3

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 7 2017

Patrick Cripps finished the 2016 season in such a flurry that he was touted as a Top8 MID for 2017.  After surgery to his back, he had a light pre-season yet managed to be fit for Rd1.  After a dismal 50pts against the Tigers in Rd1, Cripps improved to 109 against Melbourne last Sunday.  Unfortunately he copped a cheap shot from Jordan Lewis behind play that has left him with a fractured jaw.  Has been named to play on Sunday at time of publishing.  What action would you recommend for the owners of Cripps?

Jack Steven is one MID that is capable of going very large when he’s hitting his targets.  Many Coaches took the chance on him this year but there is plenty of competition in that Saints midfield (Ross, Billings, Dunstan, Steele, Newnes, Armitage).  With only 75 & 63 from the first two Rounds, Steven has performed well under expectation.  He is now set for some time on the sidelines with a punctured lung.  So what are the owners of Steven to do?

  1. that’s pretty harsh buddy but I dare say plenty share your sentiments, perhaps in such a colourful manner as well.. for me, Cripps would be a hold, but obviously Steven is a must trade if you have him..

      1. I’d say the Bont Qwert. Limited pre-season and still smashing them, think he can push towards Danger range this year. Not quite there but getting closer. Style of play seems to be favoured by the champion data scoring and goes forward if tagged.
