Trade or Hold – Round 10

Written by Hot Sauce on May 24 2019

Rookies:

Sam Collins – Def – $291,100 – AVG: 60.4 – BE: 67

There is no excuse if you still have him this week with injury sidelining the Suns defender for up to 6 weeks.

Verdict: Trade

Jack Scrimshaw – Def – $311,700 – AVG: 67.5 – BE: 68

Given the injury concerns for several defenders at the moment, and leading into the bye rounds, there are plenty of other options to trade. His price should fluctuate too much from now on.

Verdict: Hold

Jordan Clark – Def – $252,800 – AVG: 56.5 – BE: 37

As above, his low BE is enough reason to hold at the moment.

Verdict: Hold

Marty Hore – Def – $369,400 – AVG: 82.6 – BE: 56

An excellent bye round hold who will continue to make more cash. Just be thankful and hold.

Verdict: Hold

Xavier Duursma – Def – $322,900 – AVG: 68.6 – BE: 76

If you’re not impacted by the injuries to key defenders, then I would trade. Otherwise hold as he will hover around this price point.

Verdict: Hold

Callum Wilkie – Def – $314,000 – AVG: 65.4 – BE: 75

See above as per Xavier Duursma.

Verdict: Trade

Connor Rozee – Def/Fwd – $390,100 – AVG: 83.1 – BE: 40

Another 100+ game has seen a further price increase with a potential further $25k until his bye round. The kid is a star.

Verdict: Hold

Charlie Constable – Mid – $342,800 – AVG: 80.0 – BE: 51

The constant in and out of the team is starting to get really annoying. With plenty of other midfield rookies not selected, his decent price can see coaches potentially upgrade to a premium.

Verdict: Trade

Tom Atkins – Mid – $256,100 – AVG: 52.8 – BE: 53

Unless you are hit with midfield injuries, it’s time for him to go.

Verdict: Trade

Michael Gibbons – Mid – $262,600 – AVG: 51.2 – BE: 68

As above, trade if you can; hold if you need to.

Verdict: Trade

James Cousins – Mid – $332,000 – AVG: 72.2 – BE: 25

Cousins continues his hot streak of form and is one to hold onto through the bye rounds.

Verdict: Hold

Bailey Smith – Mid – $381,200 – AVG: 75.0 – BE: 60

Just when it looked like Smith had maxed out, he comes up with his first 100+ game. Can now become $400k+ in the coming weeks.

Verdict: Hold

Sydney Stack – Mid – $335,200 – AVG: 76.7 – BE: 66

Likely to have reached his ceiling but it worth holding onto through the byes.

Verdict: Hold

Sam Walsh – Mid – $428,800 – AVG: 90.7 – BE: 106

Has dropped ~$24k in the last two weeks so if you still have him, I would hold him through the bye rounds.

Verdict: Hold

Willem Drew – Fwd/Mid – $321,800 – AVG: 73.1 – BE: 64

Was dropped last week and failed to make it back into the team. He’s done.

Verdict: Trade

Matthew Parker – Fwd – $242,700 – AVG: 55.0 – BE: 90

He is set to drop ~$20k this round so if you can trade him out do it. With the injury/selection carnage, you may need to hold.

Verdict: Trade

Gryan Miers – Fwd – $371,700 – AVG: 72.7 – BE: 82

A high breakeven but there is surely other players needing to be traded out more than Miers.

Verdict: Hold

Will Setterfield – Fwd/Mid – $223,300 – AVG: 51.0 – BE: 37

A low breakeven, but for him who knows really as he has scored only 29 last week. Still worth holding.

Verdict: Hold

Jack Petruccelle – Fwd – $276,100 – AVG: 56.6 – BE: 52

Will hover around this price for the coming weeks. Worth holding onto like other similar rookies.

Verdict: Hold

Liam Baker – Fwd – $329,800 – AVG: 78.8 – BE: 71

Baker is worth holding, his 3-round average is at his BE.

Verdict: Hold

Reilly O’Brien – Ruc – $398,400 – AVG: 89.1 – BE: 84

Strong arguments to hold until Fort has played his second game next week, but I would be trading. With the current carnage, if you have a Ruc/Fwd loophole (Bines being the popular choice) it would be worth trading O’Brien out for a forward upgrade as there is no point having a non-scoring rookie on the bench.

Verdict: Trade

Mid-Pricers:

Darcy Moore – Def/Fwd – $379,000 – AVG: 79.1 – BE: 63

Unless you have to trade to ensure you field a full team, Moore is worth holding onto.

Verdict: Hold

Brad Crouch – Mid – $468,100 – AVG: 96.4 – BE: 61

Just hold. At least until after the bye rounds.

Verdict: Hold

Dom Sheed – Mid – $441,800 – AVG: 95.0 – BE: 64

Much like Brad Crouch he is safe to hold onto through the byes especially with his return to form.

Verdict: Hold

James Worpel – Mid/Fwd – $428,900 – AVG: 90.0 – BE: 73

Just like the above two players, Worpel is another to hold.

Verdict: Hold

Rory Lobb – Ruc/Fwd – $451,300 – AVG: 86.9 – BE: 68

Definitely worth holding onto and if he finds consistency could be a keeper.

Verdict: Hold

Good luck coaches!

  1. 10 non players this week (inc Bines and ROB) so trade plans for the byes, which were going well, are now kaput. Need to trade ROB for a Boak type and hope one of the rook emergencies is named to avoid a donut.

Best of SC luck to everyone trying to avoid a donut.

  2. What FWD shoud i get with 520k?

I have Danger, Kelly, Heeney, Marshall.

Thinking Cameron or or even Ziebell is that ludicrous?

  3. I’m going to have to go early on someone I think, Young the most likely but the midseason draft worries me. Or go with Hately if he’s named but he needs a midfield injury to get games.

      1. Yeah I could do that, you think Hinge will hold his spot with the injuries? Would prefer going early on Fort but I don’t want Bines FWD with all the chaos.

        1. Actually what about Wills from the Pies, named in the guts actually playing his 3rd game and good VFL average about 85-95, is he straight out when De Goey, Moore and Adams are back?

  4. Is Riley O’brian from ADE not playing? Teams say he is, Trade or hold thread says he isn’t. So confused
