Trade or Hold – Round 14

Written by Hot Sauce on June 21 2019

Hold:

Noah Answerth – Def/Mid – $237,000 – AVG: 54.9 – BE: 37

Probably should have traded him last week but if you still have him, he is worth holding for one more price rise while others are missing due to their bye.

Marty Hore – Def – $418,300 – AVG: 87.6 – BE: 39

Easy choice here if you still have him. Can hopefully maintain his output for a few more weeks and creep above $450k.

Gryan Miers – Fwd – $311,300 – AVG: 68.6 – BE: 50

Likely to rise a little more so can be traded, but again this week would be a low priority.

Xavier Duursma – Def – $383,800 – AVG: 73.4 – BE: 72

Worth holding onto during the last bye round, hopefully his price doesn’t drop too much, if at all.

Callum Wilkie – Def – $335,700 – AVG: 68.5 – BE: 45

The 95 last week has secured his spot in your side for at least one more week. Will max out at around $355k.

Zak Butters – Mid/Fwd – $321,400 – AVG: 64.2 – BE: 14

One more week for Butters where he is likely to max out at around $345k, almost making us $200k for the season.

Bailey Smith – Mid – $391,600 – AVG: 74.6 – BE: 101

Similar to Duursma, worth holding onto for one week unless you can afford the trade now.

Matthew Parker – Fwd – $250,500 – AVG: 55.1 – BE: 58

If you held last week, hold through the bye rounds and hope he meets his BE.

Trade:

Jordan Clark – Def – $291,800 – AVG: 57.6 – BE: 77

Trade if you can as he is likely to fall in price. If held you can expect ~$10K drop.

Connor Rozee – Def/Fwd – $388,000 – AVG: 78.2 – BE: 106

Will continue to leak cash after peaking at $412k a few weeks ago.

Bye this week:

Hold:

Sydney Stack – Mid – $394,900 – AVG: 80.4 – BE: 62

Creeping up towards the magical $300k profit mark which is rarely seen in our cash cows. Will surely surpass it post-bye and should be a priority to be held.

Will Setterfield – Fwd/Mid – $265,600 – AVG: 55.4 – BE: 29

Has had three consecutive 60+ games for the first time all season and if he can maintain that consistency, there is still more cash to be made. However, the thing with Setterfield all season is he always seems just one game away from a stinker.

Reilly O’Brien – Ruc – $446,000 – AVG: 95.6 – BE: -20

Wow! The beast just goes from strength to strength and now has earned his owners a negative breakeven. Owners can expect a further $80k – $90K in the fortnight after his bye, potentially earning his coaches upwards of $400k – simply unheard of! For those without Grundy & Gawn, he is now a legitimate option at R2, but you should be looking to upgrade him to one of Grundy or Gawn if you don’t have them both.

Trade:

Sam Walsh – Mid – $439,100 – AVG: 89.8 – BE: 70

The rookie sensation has been great and now is the time to upgrade him to a fallen premium with minimal impact to your available cash. Some coaches are considering him as a M8 alternative, not the worst idea out there and hopefully he continues to improve through the second half of the season.

Liam Baker – Fwd – $363,700 – AVG: 77.9 – BE: 100

Consecutive average games have made this young Tiger primed for an upgrade. Take the cash and spend it wisely.

Noah Balta – Fwd – $284,900 – AVG: 49.6 – BE: 90

Your rollercoaster ride with Balta needs to end now as he is set to lose more cash over the coming weeks.

Nick Larkey – Fwd – $271,900 – Avg: 59.4 – BE: 68

Will hover around this price mark from now on making this the perfect timing to trade him.

Luke Davies-Uniacke – Mid – $310,700 – AVG: 68.1 – BE: 71

Same as his mate above.

Michael Gibbons – Mid – $304,000 – AVG: 55.7 – BE: 38

His BE suggests he has more cash to earn but he has scored below 38 four times already this year and isn’t set to make much more cash, if any at all.

Mid-Pricers

Hold:

James Worpel – Mid/Fwd – $452,000 – AVG: 90.9 – BE: 73

Definitely hold for the last bye round and could possibly be used as a F6 but would serve you better to upgrade.

Angus Brayshaw – Mid – $423,000 – AVG: 89.6 – BE: 45

Fingers crossed he keeps up his recent form and could buy a solid fallen premium addition to some teams willing to take a punt. Hold if you have him.

Trade:

Brodie Smith – Def – $400,800 – AVG: 85.2 – BE: 117

Given his current BE and it’s his bye week, now is the perfect time to upgrade. Will likely average around this mark for the rest of the season.

Tom Liberatore – Mid – $410,700 – AVG: 88.1 – BE: 131

Injury forces those who are stubborn to let go of him. Hit the upgrade button.

Good luck coaches!

  1. I’ve got 14 trades left with 267k in the bank plus Rob on the bench. Forward line is essentially complete and I don’t feel it’s the right time to upgrade my midfield ( I have Bewley and Clarke playing this week). I’ve also opted to get rid of Brodie Smith next week for Hurn. If you were in my position would you use the money to go Goldy to Gawn this week? I think it’s the most logical option. Highly doubt hes gonna have a significant price drop for the rest of the season.

  2. Wouldn’t mind trading out M Parker for Logue to generate cash for next week

  3. Thanks HS! I’m thinking Setterfield stays to the end now. Seems assured of his place each week and his DPP comes in handy to swap in or out if injuries etc occur.

He scores badly when not played in the mids. When he has played in the midfield / on ball he scores OK – that’s the difference in his scoring
