Trade or Hold – Round 21

Written by Hot Sauce on August 9 2019

Rookies

Hold:

Sydney Stack – Mid – $425,200 – AVG: 82.4 – BE: 103

He is named on the extended bench and if he plays, he will a handy emergency cover for the remaining rounds. If he doesn’t play, that is a lot of cash sitting on the bench.

Will Setterfield – Fwd/Mid – $340,900 – AVG: 61.9 – BE: 54

Setterfield remains an invaluable DPP cover for all teams and he should be held for the whole season.

Noah Answerth – Def/Mid – $333,000 – AVG: 61.1 – BE: 25

Answerth is in the exact same boat as Setterfield and as a DPP, he needs to stay in your teams.

Bailey Smith – Mid – $374,500 – AVG: 74.6 – BE: 54

Smith continues to play solid footy and is an excellent alternate emergency cover. If you have plenty of options he can be moved on.

Sam Walsh – Mid – $443,100 – AVG: 90.2 – BE: 71

If he is in your side, he is most likely your M8 so if you have enough trades and no further pressing issues, upgrade to a full premo. That should have happened weeks ago, so if he still in your side, you would need to hold him.

Rupert Wills – Mid – $255,700 – AVG: 69.0 – BE: -5

Wills is still in the Pies side and with a negative breakeven, he should be held onto.

Nick Larkey – Fwd – $272,400 – AVG: 57.1 – BE: 53

Larkey won’t fluctuate much in price. Hold, trade or whatever.

Nick Hind – Mid – $244,000 – AVG: 55.1 – BE: 29

Similar to Larkey but his lower breakeven suggests he can stay. Trade next week if you must.

Ian Hill – Mid/Fwd – $197,800 – AVG: 58.0 – BE: 8

A low breakeven and DPP status means he should be held onto.

Kyle Dunkley – Mid – $145,600 – AVG: 53.0 – BE: -13

Low price, lower breakeven and is selected again this week. All signs point to hold.

Hayden McLean – Fwd – $164,400 – AVG: 67.0 – BE: -42

As above.

Michael Gibbons – Mid – $376,200 – AVG: 61.8 – BE: 53

Same position as Bailey Smith. The price is worth trading if needed to be done otherwise a handy emergency option.

Jackson Hately – Mid – $238,800 – AVG: 63.0 – BE: 41

Has the potential for a big score, and at that price and breakeven, he is a firm hold.

Trade:

Callum Wilkie – Def – $366,300 – AVG: 70.1 – BE: 76

A decent price tag with a high breakeven, so if you can afford to trade him out, do so.

Dylan Clarke – Mid – $310,500 – AVG: 67.7 – BE: 86

Lower price but a higher breakeven so should be a higher priority to trade out than Wilkie.

Jordan Clark – Def – $318,200 – AVG: 60.9 – BE: 54

The youngster has an unfortunate injury so that seals the deal here – no point holding onto him now.

Will Snelling – Mid – $198,900 – AVG: 84.7 – BE: -85

After his best game his unfortunate injury will see him traded out by those who can afford the small return.

Mabior Chol – Fwd/Ruc – $272,000 – AVG: 64.6 – BE: 75

Decent return, high breakeven and likely to make way for Nank this week spells the end for Chol. Has been a handy pick up though.

Griffin Logue – Def – $255,100 – AVG: 63.6 – BE: 77

Remains in the Dockers line-up so is by no means a required trade. If you have the flexibility to do so though, do it.

Mid-Pricers & Premiums

It’s week two of the league finals, if you have a mid-pricer they’re likely to be kept for the remainder of the season. However, if you have an injured mid-pricer or premium – they would have to make way to ensure maximum score.

Good luck coaches!
