  1. Again, is it worth moving on Rocky? Not sure if this is a rough patch of form or if he’s not fully fit. Thoughts?

    T/U: Move him on!

T/D: Keep him, he’ll come good, I swear!

    1. Good for me as I don’t have him, but surely he’ll come fit soon? Similar to early-season Hanners? At any rate, I reckon I might bring him in within the next 1-2 weeks, could be an elite M9!!!

      1. He could be a Hanners and come good in a few weeks, or he could be a Fyfe and take 7-8 weeks to come good, which is time we don’t have at the moment! It’s a real dilemma.

    2. The only way he’ll avoid getting dropped from my team next week is if Dangerfield and Pendlebury are both injured

    3. Hoping I can swing a straight swap from Greenwood to maybe a Merrett or D Martin and parking him on the bench, coz I know what he’ll do if I trade him out. Plus I’ve still got Heater Shaw to worry about.

  2. Having officially joined the Zero Trades Club® last round, it will be interesting to see how it feels to lurk around in Trade Talk without actually being able to do anything.

  3. Zero trades last round, 7 trades left

Tempted to drop Tom lynch and Howe! I also cannot believe I brought Rance in 4 weeks ago

  4. Finally upgrading Parsons. Tempted by Wingard as he averages 105.29 at AO this year with 4 of his last 6 games there and he hasn’t dipped below 100 at AO since R3 against Adelaide.

Current forward line: J Macrae, L Franklin, L Dahlhaus, T Lynch, J Steele, H Greenwood and S Bolton.

    TU: C Wingard
    TD: I Heeney

  5. Straight swap of Greenwood to Joelwood for 9th premo mid so can now loophole a premo on every line. Juuuust scraped enough cash for it, $1,600 spare now, 4 trades left for the year. Ranked 25th.

Will monitor possible sideways luxury trades for guys I’d rather over mine but otherwise holding trades for injuries.

  6. Thinking of going: Scharenberg —> Jelwood?

Leaves me with 6 trades with; Witherden at D7, Rocky at M9 & Greenwood at F7 + hopefully ill be able to get break into the Top 1000

  7. Upgrading parsons to either
    t/u heeney
    t/d macrae

leaves me with 4 trades and I can loophole lynch /nankervis

  8. I could go Greenwood and Mountford to Nyhuis and Selwood, effectively giving me Rockliff M9, Witherden D7/M10 but not as good cover with Cox and Eddy up forward. And about $97k in the bank. Will have 7 trades if I use 2 this week.

    You know the drill:

    Thumbs up: Good plan
    Thumbs down: Save the trades.

    1. Revisiting with updated information.

If Pendlebury misses I can trade him to Selwood whilst opening up a Hibberd- Witherden D/M link and a Deluca-Greenwood M/F link giving me pretty solid first bench coverage, though my depth will be tested with Hibberd, Cameron and Eddy in my lineup.

  9. 5 trades left, thinking either SPP to Joelwood; SPP to Hurley by switching Llloyd to mid; Steele to Joelwood or Steele to either Parker or Ward.

Def: Laird Roberton LLoyd Rance Shaw Hibbert (Melb) Ryan and Hibberd (Nth)
Mid: Danger Bont MMurphy Sloane Adams Treloar Fyfe Witherdin SPP Greenwood and DLloyd

  10. It seems like I’ve said for about six weeks straight now, but damn it I’m getting Macrae this week!

    Ainsworth and Parsons (finally) out
    Macrae and Nyhuis in

Also, am I crazy to consider putting Witherden at M8 and benching Rocky? He is putrid right now.

    12

    1. Im thinking same thing, I started without Macrae thinking he’d be one of my first upgrades but I kept taking other options.
Even this week I am still thinking whether to go heeney instead. Macrae is just so vanilla with his consistent 85-115 scores but with so much uncertainty in the forward line he probably is a must have for finals time.

  11. I’m hearing bone bruising for Danger , which may mean 2 -3 weeks. That’s a lot of money to have sitting on the bench coming into the finals. With 6 trades left I’m tempted to do a straight swap for Jelwood, fix a few lines, wait for Witherden and Greenwood to cow up and then bring Danger back in come finals time at a hopefully discounted price (700k haha).Unique position getting Jelwood so cheap.

      1. Thanks Eagling, if he doesn’t play this week and I think it’s unlikely he will then the risk is getting him back in at 780k , if he does play , there’s a chance his scoring will be affected and he only needs to ave 110 to drop 50k. It is a big risk to take as there are a lot of moving parts, but as Ron Barrassi said…
He’ll want to play no doubt , but I think Geelong would want a fully fit Danger entering into the finals.

  12. I have 4 trades left.

TU: Ryan and Scharenberg > Hibberd and bottom price D/M would leave Shaw/Newman as D6/D7
    TD: Sloane > Zerrett
    Comment: Hold trades

  13. I was going to bring Docherty in this week but might hold off one more as I’m still looking to bring in my final premo mid and my back 6 is (just) solid enough for now with laird, adams, lloyd, tuohy, newman, hibberd (ryan, nyhuis).

When I do make the call who goes out for Doch?

    T/U: Newman
    T/D: Tuohy

  14. Giving myself two options this week:

TU: Upgrade Steele to Macrae. Witherden/SPP/Greenwood as D7/M9/F7 Rocky on field. 4 trades left

TD: Keep Steele, upgrade SPP to Titch leaving Witherden/Rocky/Greenwood as D7/M9/F7. 3 trades left.

    Thanks in advance.

  15. Want to flog off Newman for a premo mid, swinging WItherden to D6. I have 8 trades left and can spend 552k on a mid

  16. is J Selwood an absolute must get at his current price?

if so, for me either Greenwood ($376,600) or White ($286,200) makes way this week.

    T/U: Greenwood > Selwood
    T/D: White > Selwood

  17. Team is:

Def: Laird, Adams, Lloyd, Shaw, Hibberd, Newman (Ryan, Perryman)
Mid: Danger, Mitchell, Zerrett, Neale, Selwood, Hannebery, Treloar, Greenwood (Fox, Cousins, Hibberd)
    Ruck: Kreuzer, Mumford (Strnadica)
Fwd: Yeo, Franklin, Dahl, Henney, Roo, White (Eddy, McInnes)

5 trades left with $297k in the bank.

To upgrade both White and Greenwood i need a fallen premium (i.e. Rocky) and get Macrae in forward line T/up

Or get a cheap Fwd (Daniher/JJK) and get a better mid T/down

Really stuck on what to do, too many options all with risks. Any help appreciated. Thanks,

  18. 5 trades left. Have been looking at trading out Newman, Sloane or Lynch. First choice was Hurley but don’t have enough to do in 1 trade. For Sloane, I’d be cleaned out if I got a straight replacement at $550k.
For Lynch, I can get Wingard at exactly his price ($497,100). Port have a great S/C finals draw with 4 out of last 5 in Adelaide. Saints, Pies, Crows and Suns. Wingard getting a lot of on-ball time.
Only want to do 1 trade this week.

    T/u bring in Wingard
T/d get another mid for Sloane

  19. have 3 trades left and no fwd bench cover but thinking of trading sloane to jelwood and/or waiting a week to see how young performs for the dogs but that would only leave me with one trade left. with yeo being a late withdrawal on the weekend it has me worried it will happen again. current fwds are macrae, yeo, franklin, dahlhaus, nankervis and heeney. bolton and durdin on bench.

    TU: sloane to jelwood
TD: wait a week and bring in young
comment: do both and take the risk with only having one trade for the rest of the year.

  21. Sweating on Danger, Pendles & Sloane under injury cloud. Also need Gawn to find some form.
Think I will trade Greenwood (M9) to Jelwood, swing T. Adams back to Defence and drop Newman to D7.
This will leave me with 3 injury cover options through DPP, options being Witherden, T. Lynch and Newman.

Would leave me with 4 trades left and only $300.

  22. With Pendles having surgery for a broken finger left with no choice , but to trade him so close to finals.

So Pendles to Selwood it is and , Parsons to JJK.

Would love Heeney , but 15k short.

  24. with news of pendles being out should I

T/U forget my plans of upgrading parsons to macrae/heeney and swap pendles for any premium mid of my choice (leaves me with 4 trades but means I have to start 2 of lynch, nank, Hugh greenwood in forward line)

T/D Upgrade parsons to heeney, Pendles to Bont ($200 bucks and three trades left)

comment Parsons to Macrae, Pendles to a premium mid under $500k (I already have fyfe/jelwood though)

    1. ah man I wish I could make the same move as you. Im not sold on Bont but he is the best I can afford. Merrett is a way tastier option.

  25. Want to move on Pendles for Mitchell but need some cash to make it happen.

Do people think Witherden is a better D6 than Newman? Any help would be appreciated!!

TU Pendles and Scharenberg >- Mitchell and Nyhuis (keep Newman as D6)
TD Pendles and Newman >- Mitchell and mid-rookie (swing Witherden to D6)

    9
    1. I would choose the TU option, except maybe consider trading in O Junker (NM DEF/MID $102,400 basement rookie) instead of Nyhuis so that you can swing Witherden into DEF to loophole with Newman as D6.

        1. You’re welcome. I too was considering trading out Pendles but I’ll probably hold off now on trading him (I only have 5 trades left), have Witherden cover for me this week (and Greenwood covering Danger if he is a late out), then reassess next week.

However if you have 8 or more trades remaining you should consider making those trades as Titch is a must have based on his form this season.

          1. I’ve got 7 trades left – which is why I’m 50-50 on whether to trade this week!

A wait and see approach sounds like a good one…i’m loopholing greenwood in the fwd line so if danger pulls out i might just pull the trigger.

  26. TU: Pendlebury & Rockliff > Oliver & Selwood.
    – Still one upgrade required.

TD: Mountford & Ryan > Selwood & Nyhuis.
    – Full premo but still holding Rocky and Pendles.

Both moves leave me with three trades and Greenwood and Witherden as bench cover. Doing nothing is not an option as I’m barely hanging on in 4 out of 5 leagues. What is my best option?

  27. Looks like pendles must leave my team: which is low on cash and trades

Thinking Sidebum or Treloar may step up in Pendles absence, or . . .

    T/Up: Go Lachie Neale

    T/Dn: go Sidebum or Treloar

    TIA

  28. Pendles to Neale for me

with 6 trades left after that will field one of Witherden or Greenwood for Danger if he doesn’t come up

trying to go with 1 trade per week as a max in case of injury

  29. Ryan to Jelwood through Witherden completing my full premo team, then Pendles being traded out due to his finger to Ebert (nice run home and is a decent price with low BE)

    T/U: Yes go ahead

T/D: No, Ebert is burn-man, look elsewhere (Wines, Beams, Cotchin… Comment suggestions)

  30. New Day means New Trade plans.

Pendles to Selwood lock and then Ryan to Taylor Adams.

With no loopholes at this stage will need to bench one of Rance , Shaw or Howe , but if Danger is out that will no longer be a problem.

  31. Pendles to Jelwood is done… contemplating Sloane to Dusty.

TU: Do it (leaves me with 3 trades remaining)

TD: Game day decision. If Sloane plays no trade, if he doesn’t play then trade

    9

    3
  32. Newman to Wingard swinging Lloyd to def and Greenwood to mid opening up both swing sets, then Parsons to JJK leaving me with $165k, 6 trades and only luxury or LTI trades left to do.
    TU: Do it!
    TD: Look at other options..

  35. Trading Newman (D6) out of defence this week. Money not an issue.

I am considering Adams, Hurley or Laird. Final 2 are:

    T/D: Laird

Comment: Adams – will he rise in the absence of Pendlebury or maintain his inconsistent form.

Was hoping to go Ryan on the bench to a Hurley if he goes up enough in the future

  41. Hi community, unsure what to do this week have a couple of options and keep changing my mind. I have the Pendlebury issue to deal with but also want to finish my back line by getting rid of Newman, and strengthen my forward line by upgrading greenwood and moving Tom Lynch to F7.

7 trades left only 40k in the bank.

TU: Swap Witherden for Newman using DPP and trade Newman to Brad Ebert (BE 23). Due to lack of cash Witherden will be on the field for at least 2-3 weeks at D6.

TD: Trade Newman to Hurley, Witherden/Greenwood as mid cover this week then bring in a gun mid for Pendles next week.

Both options involve trading Balic to Bayok to free up cash and keeping Pendles on the pine for a week to reassess (unless of course Danger is out too, then I will have to change my plans).

    1. Ceiling – Dusty
      Consistency – Merrett or Titch
      POD – Neale

Gaz’s injury concerns put me off – could easily miss games in SC finals.

I personally would go Titch, have had him from the start and it eases your mind knowing exactly what you’re gonna get each week.

  42. So I’ve traded out Pendles and SPP for Titch and Jelwood. Unfortunately, I have a very bad feeling about this.

    Should I keep Pendles?

  43. Bit of a dilemma with injury prone Scooter, Ablett and Rocky. Initial thoughts were trade Selwood to Jelwood but now giving consideration to Ablett and Rocky if they get put on cotton wool.

Current Mids are – Danger, Titch, Dusty, Treloar, Fyfe, Hanners and above 3 filling M7 to M9 + Witherden at M10.

    t/u – Selwood to Jelwood
    T/d – Ablett/Rocky to Jelwood.

    Comment – hold/other.

  44. OK, now business end of the season – 4 trades left and deciding whether to trade Bob Murphy to Adams. Or do i trade Roughy?

Rest of the D looks like:

Laird, Z Williams, Newman, Z Jones, M HIbberd (Ryan, Scharenberg).

    T/U Trade
T/D Hold and trade Roughead to Franklin

  45. Trade Dilemmas.

TU: Trade Pendles/Newman to DMartin/JSelwood. No coin left and fielding Witherden down back.

TD: Greenwood/Ryan to Selwood/Nyaius. 200k spare, hold pendles and have newman on field.

    Cheers

  46. Who do i trade Goldy to? I have 4 trades and no cover so i will cop a doughnut if i don’t. I can bring in anyone except Ryder or Kruezer and i already have Witts.

So who is my best choice for the end of the season?
