  1. Barlow is gone. Knowing my luck he’ll one out next week.
May use a bit of that cash to get Menadue in for Gresham.

  2. Looking to get rid of barlow from the Forward line, but already having Robbo on the pine means i only have 2 premos playing (1 being barlow ) should i go barlow to papley anyways meaning i will only have 1 premo playing unless Robbo makes a return

  3. Barlow and Rocky being considered to get the boot.

Thinking of getting Zaha, as he’s banged out 2 pretty decent scores (132, 133) for someone priced to average 92ish. I’m going with the assumption he’s taking over as top billing in the Dons midfield, so those scores should continue…. Or at least go 110+ from here out.
Also thinking about getting in Pap coz I wasn’t smart enough to get him from the start

  4. Definitely trading Rockliff, who should I trade him to:
Lachie Neale or Dylan Shiel (any Sydney players are out due to byes and 4 Sydney players already on my team, which rules out Parker and Mitchell)

And is Barlow to Zach Merrett a good trade?

  5. Rocky and Barlow to go out

thinking of 2 options on who to bring in though:
    1. Parker and Zorko
    2. R Gray and Z Merret

  6. Almost wish Greene was a dud again and made it easy for me. Now I have no idea how to bring in JJ or Hall.

Rocky for Parker picks itself. Don’t trust Zaka in a losing team year round to be a permanent mid, but that’s just me.

  7. Rocky Barlow and Yeo are three premiums that deserve the boot after two poor rounds.

Need to get Papley in, best priced cash cow so far. Thinking of bringing Parker in for Rocky or J.Johanisen in for Yeo.
    Thoughts?

  8. I need to get Ben Kennedy and I’m not impressed with Barlow.

    I’m thinking:

    Barlow to Z.Merett
    Menadue to Kennedy.

I know menadue has a low BE, but I can’t figure out another way to do it.

  9. Barlow and Rocky to leave. Have Hall, Papley and Parker; so need someone different. What do we think about Merret for Barlow? Or would Greene the better choice?
And for Rocky, is Zaharakis worth a look to cash up or should I be looking at bring GAJ in?

  10. If Rocky out for more than 2, then I’ll simply trade him for Libba. Any less than that and I’ll reconsider….maybe.

I’ll most likely also bring in B Kennedy for either Barlow or Steele. (Yes Barlow will survive if Steele does not get a gig next week believe it or not)

Selwood & de Goey can consider themselves lucky I can only make 2 trades a week! 😛

  11. Looking at a few options, but not 100% on any of them at the moment.

Mostly happy with my team, but the names of, D. Rich, T. Rockliff, J. Johannisen & T. Papley, keep swirling around my empty head!

Not to concerned about Rocky for the time being (unless we are looking at an LTI), as I currently have $139k in the bank, so can trade him out and bring in say Fyfe if need be, but that can probably wait till Rd 4. (Fyfe’s B/E is 174, so likely to drop in price this week and if Rocky doesn’t play, then his price stays as is).

So if Rocky doesn’t play then looking at Rich to JJ and then working out how to bring in Papley!

At the moment I’m thinking of moving McCarthy on (sacrificial calf??)… but do I really want to?? But do I also really want to potentially miss out on a runaway cashcow in Papley??

If Papley continues on his average, then his peak is projected to be over $500k… unlikely I dare say, but what’s really appealing to me at the moment, is that he is projected to increases by a whopping $113.6k and has a ridiculous B/E of -149!! Oh and projected to be around the $400k mark by Rd 6 as well!!

But if McCarthy continues on his current average, then he’s projected to peak just under $300k and around $260k by Rd8!

As for Rich, well, he was up and down last year if I remember and I only traded him in in the second half of the season I think, so took a punt this year that he may be keeper at D5/6 or M7/8, but at the same time JJ is looking really really good and wondering if using my 2nd trade and labelling it as a ‘correctional’ trade might be a good idea??

    T/U – Rich/McCarthy OUT & JJ/Papley IN

T/D – Stand firm, if Rich & Rocky are my only concerns, why panic so early?

  12. Alright, with Rockliff being injured and provided Papley is named in the team this week, I’ll be trading out Rocky and Gresham for JJoh and Papley (via some intricate DPP moves).

  13. I have 120k in the bank, both Rocky and Barlow, but I also don’t have Papley yet.

T/U – Barlow to Papley, Rocky to another premo (Parker?), have 500k sitting around doing nothing until next week

T/D – Barlow to Papley, Gresham or Dunkley to premo (Parker?), hold Rocky

Comment – Both my plans suck, do something else.

  14. I think I’ll stick with barlow for another week – ross lyon definitely won’t want it to be 3 losses so he’ll focus on utilising current talent where it is best at.

only move I may consider is gresham to papley via DPP (kerridge into mids)

  15. I normally don’t rage trade premo’s, but when I do, I do two in the one go.

Barlow to Hall and Rocky to Priddis.

  16. Corrective trades currently in Catta’s thoughts.

Rocky > Kerridge to mids & Zorko to F4
    Barlow > M Brown fwd & Johannesen to D4

Opens up the dpp from fwd/mid & def/fwd but also leaves me $98k in the bank!

    T/U….Gr8 moves Catta
T/U…..Wastefull Catta, you only get 30 trades

  17. Looking carefully at a few names, JJ being foremost. Ablett, Zerrett and Zaha high on the list.

Had any of the rucks strung two good weeks together it would probably be different.

Don’t really need rookie corrections, it’s premo corrections this week.

  18. Ok can we please discuss barlow. Looks like he the number 1 man everyone jumping off. Can someone who has seen the games please inform a little. I know they have had 2 shockers but what is he doing? Besides his broken leg year his lowest average is 93. Im looking for a reason to believe he will come good but if hes playing a different role please inform so i can get on the jj wagon. Has he been pushed out of the mids by the kids or whats the go. Just stinkin it up?

    0

  19. Considering JJ, his numbers are too hard to ignore, especially for a defender. However his scores last year were like a yoyo. For instance in the last five rounds of 2015 he scored over 100 twice and under 55 twice. Why will he be more consistent this year?

    0

  20. Guys remember rocky played most of the game injured, after you have rage traded him and reversed and did it again 5 times (like I have) then you still have to ask yourself if he is someone who you think will be top 8 midfielder at the end of the year? If so, then hold out as his price rise/drop will be irrelevant!

Barlow may move back to the mids if FURL has half a brain, clearly the current structure isn’t working so might be a wasted trade also.

Getting Papley in for a much much slower burning rookie is what I would consider a ‘correctional’ trade if he gets another gig round 3, fast cash generation is priceless

  22. Arrrgh what a round – glad its over. Really not sure what do to this round trade wise. I have Barlow and don’t have Papley (or Hall). My thinking at this stage is that its more important to bring in Papley than trade out Barlow.
TU: Gresham to Papley (via a temporary move for Kerridge to the mids – potential Rocky cover).

TD: Barlow to Hall and Steele (if not named) to Papley. Leaves some cash in the bank.

    Cheers guys

  23. Tried taking a chance with C.Gault after such a great preseason, bad mistake and Barlow is a Mystery, he will probably go big next week knowing my luck.

    Barlow out Ablett in

  24. Going against the grain. I’m keeping Barlow for now. I believe at some stage he’ll get put in the guts. Furl will change things up a bit. Plus Bennel will play fwd. as for trades I’m not sure but I’d like to get jj. Thoughts?

    Shaw laird Sheridan lonergan
    Weitering dea (amt brown)

    Danger ablett pendles shiel Libba
B.crouch Kennedy mills (Oliver Gresham Davis)

  25. Thinking Barlow to Zaharakis and possibly Lonergan to Johannisen

Surely I don’t want to rage trade Rocky……how long is he out??

Shaw, Laird, Adams, Longeran, Weitering, Dea — Mcdonald-Tip, M Brown

Ablett, Dangerfield, Rockliff, Liba, Pendles, Wines, Crouch, Mills — Menadue, Davis, Gresham

    NicNat, Gawn — Cox

Martin, Hall, Wells, B Kennedy, Barlow, Kerridge — Papley, Mcgovern

  26. So I have Rich, Robbo and Rocky can’t believe all of them are injured. So my priority this week is Rocky out and Papley In. I am thinking Robbie Gray for Rocky. Would like to look at JJ one more week up against Hawks before bringing him in for Barlow if Barlow stinks it up again (via DPP)

Ideally I would like to bring in JJ and Parker this week for Rocky and Barlow/Sheridan.

  28. Thoughts on Yeo – Gibson for cash generation?
Yeo with a breakeven of 129 and expected to drop around 50k in the next 2 weeks if he continues to average 66.
Gibson with a breakeven of 12 and expected to rise to 600k+ if he maintains his avergage of 138 over the next 2 rounds.
Is it worth the punt? Highly doubt Yeo and Gibson will averge 66 and 138 over the next 2..

  31. I’m not sure Yeo going to be very consistent, So you could look to trade him. But if you trade in Gibson the cash generation is irrelevant because he’d be a keeper. Whoever you trade for Yeo make sure they are a premium who you intend on keeping all year

  32. Worth trading Barlow..? Any good options? Forward line is Barlow, Buddy, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Tippa. Only going for league wins would love to hear advice from the experts… Cheers P.S. GO BOMBERS!!!!!

  33. Okay been plotting all night long. Rocky, Barlow, Shaw, Bartel are the biggest under performers..

However bad Barlow and the backline (premo’s) have been, my major worry at the moment is the mid-field.

Sidebottom (Suspended) Rocky (more then likely out injured) Dunkley and Graham – will both be very lucky to hold there spots.

At present I don’t have any DPP options available.

My Idea- Trade: Rocky – Gray & Graham – Hartley (Via DPP brown to forward and Barlow to Mid)

Now, I know this is sideways trading at its best, but this is my thinking:

Sending Barlow to Mids gives me a DPP M/F and he can play M8 this week.

Graham dosn’t look to have much JS or hope of dropping any big numbers at present. Hartley opens up DPP D/F and or loophole options. If Dunkley gets dropped he becomes a loop hole

Gray is gun and comes straight in (I wanted him preseason but I choose Rockys value over him).

This will mean that Paply/Menadue will play F6 and next week when Sidebottom comes back either Hewitt or Barlow go to the bench

The reason I picked Barlow to stay over Rocky is simply price and the fact rocky was already injured coming into the game and now has another, couple with his lack of pre-season.

    T/U Some Solid Logic
T/D Back to the drawing board idiot

Please comment if you have any better ideas – Slipped form 386 to 4312 so I am scrambling..

Holding Barlow for now and hope Robbo is back this week.

  35. Im going against a lot of coaches and am going to keep rocky and barlow (at least for another week). Ive got plenty of cover in the mids if rocky is out for a bit and I hope ffs that furl puts barlow in the guts more.

So with that said im thinking of getting rid of some of my experiments that havent worked out as well as planned. That being do goey, suckling and mckenzie.

One of my trades for cash generation will definetly be de goey to papley provided he is named so am just wanting opinions on the other 2.

    T/U Suckling to JJ
    T/D Mckemzie to JJ

    Comments are welcome also

  37. Hey guys,

1st year playing so would appreciate some trading advice.

Have 265k ITB, underperformers currently are, Sheridan, lonergan, barlow.

Currently have papley, b kenedy, kerridge etc. So think I need to trade up to performing guns rather than downgrade.

Was thinking Barlow to J Waite, then Steele to S mitchell?

    Any thoughts?

  38. Scored a nice 2450 this week so I need to get trades right to stay in touch with the leaders.

Thinking Gresham to Kennedy who will slot nicely into my forward line and weighing up Weitering straight to JJ. I can afford it but I know Weitering will be a good M6 or 7. I’ve still got Dea, Hartley and Brown/AMT via DPP though.

I also don’t have Papley in my team and was contemplating bringing him in purely for cash generation.

    Thoughts?

Also, can somebody clarify exactly what Barlow’s role seems to be this year? I haven’t seen any of Freos games but I’m guessing he isn’t getting the midfield minutes we were all hoping for. I’m not one for trading premos but he’s starting to worry me. Mind you he should be a pretty good F6

  40. Hi Guys,

After some serious consideration, i have decided to HOLD all 3 players i.e. Rockliff, Barlow and Rich….

Barlow: may as well come back to Midfield as FURL spoke in the pre-season, just that Bennel is injured Barlow is spending more time in the FWD…anyways that is my reasoning, and hope I am right this time……

Rockliff: Not sure how many weeks he is going to be OUT for, Hope he doesn’t play this week and will get a clear indication of how many weeks he is going to miss sometime this week….again we have got only 2 trades per week, so I am happy to HOLD him for now and reassess his situation next week with a actual time frame that he is going miss (i.e. if it is available)….his team mate Zorko is on my radar if Rocky is going to miss more than 3 weeks at this stage…

Rich: First of all IMO, his bad score was because of the hard tag from Ben Jacobs, probably the hardest Tag on a player I have seen (IMO)…and injury wise I do not know how many weeks he will miss, in the same boat as Rocky if he is going to miss more than 3 weeks and JJ performs well against the Hawks this week….it will be an easy decision….

So my trades this week at the moment will be,

OUT: M Suckling (he was my speculative pick, I was thinking he will score more with Dogs this year, since he is one of few more experienced players in the Doggies line up and also his DE being so high, which is very good in SC scoring system, but after watching his 2 games it seems like he isn’t going to improve his scoring at all)

OUT: J Gresham (He will take some time to develop and cannot see him making money any quicker than other Rookies which are currently available like Papely)

IN: Libba (What the hell I was thinking not to start with him, absolute non-sense…..) at that value you will have to bring him in…..Corrective Trade 1

IN: T Papely (OK we have seen 2 games and in both the games he has tonned up and based on his bargain basement price, got to bring him in…which is exactly what i am doing, just do not want miss this boat…some quick cash generation, may as well peak by the time C Petracca will be ready to be traded in in RD 6 or 7)…..Corrective Trade 2

Another Player I really want to bring in is JJ, which i cannot based on the priorities I have mentioned above….will see how he goes this week against the Hawks and another good score from him, I will have to make the hard call next week in regards to who do i trade out….which I will worry about come next Monday….

Let me know what you guys think about my reasoning above….thoughts would be much appreciated…..

    T/U: Good reasoning

    T/D: Reassess your reasoning….absolute NON-SENSE again

    Cheers,
    Raj

  42. Yeo out for JJ seems a logical enough trade for me this week, except that it will give me 4 WB players in my side. My rule of thumb has been 3 max from any one team.

T/U – Do it, more Doggies = more sexy

T/D – Yeo will improve, stick to your slightly less sexy, original line up

  44. Currently going Gresham to Papley via DDP

Unsure what to do with Barlow and Rocky would love some sort of poll on these two, thinking of keeping Rocky as have cover for him if he doesn’t play his price wont be affected.

What is more of a priority, if i trade Rockcliff and keep Wingard on bench.

T/U Trade Barlow to Zorko, A.Hall or Z.Merrett

  46. Currently going to trade out Rocky and Barlow for obvious reasons, but unsure who would be the best replacements.
    My shortlist currently contains
Ablett, Parker, Johannisen, Zaharakis, Z.Merret and Zorko

TU: Ablett and Johanissen by swinging Adams to Fwd with 18k left
    TD: Parker/Zorko and Merret/Zaharakis with 40k or 100k left

If TD could you tell me which players to pick from. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

  47. Can someone please explain how dpp works. I understand some functions, like fwd/mid to mid/fwd, but how can you trade say Barlow (fwd/mid) to JJ who is only a backmen, with no DPP status.

  48. Can someone please explain how the VC loophole works. I want to make Gaz vc this week & make Danger captain. But if Gaz has a great score , I obviously want to use that score. The only player I have on my list that isn’t playing is D.Wyatt, but he is playing on Saturday. It cost me 86 points on the weekend, as I didn’t know how to use Abletts score & ended up with Danger crap score.

  49. Hi community! So I’ve got some of the main trade-ins like Hall, JJ etc and my only real concerns are Rich and Barlow.

All fwds raised the bat this week except Barlow. I’ve got grimly and McCarthy on my bench. If Rich plays this week I think I’ll back him so my plan is:
    Barlow => Zorko
    grimly => Papley.

Any thoughts on this? Good plan (TU) or Should I stick with Barlow (TD)?
    I’m ranked 397 🙂

  50. Hi All!
Concerns this week include: Shaw, Bartel, Rockliff, Jacobs, Barlow + having Dunkley on the field.

    Thus, was thinking of going:
    – Bartel —> Weitering/Day as i already have Shaw, Laird + JJ
    – Barlow/ Rockliff —> Kerridge in order to replace Dunkley at M8 + to obtain most of the likely cash cows

Therefore, will leave plenty in the bank in order to upgrade one of Barlow/Rockliff + one rookie to Premiums

    TU: Brilliant Idea
TD: Back to the drawing board son

  51. I’m holding on to Barlow and Rockcliff for now. Instead I’m going to trade Gresham out for Papley (via Menadue).

Is it worth a trade to swap out Grimley from R3 for a captain’s loophole selection (Loersch?) instead seeing as he’s not making me any money? I don’t have any other loophole options at the moment and don’t need any further rookie corrections.

TU: Do it; having a captain’s loophole selection is worth a trade
TD: It’s not worth it; save the trade

  52. Rockliff is going to become Libba
Gresham (via Kerridge via Tippa) will become Johanneson.

Gives me libba and JJ and opens up a DEF-FWD and a MID-FWD DPP link, which I don’t have. Gives me all of the cash cow rookies to moo away also.

Laird, JJ, Weiters, Dea, Adams, Lonergan (Brown, Ruggles)
Gaz, Fyfe, Danger, Libba, Shiel, Cripps, BCrouch, Kerridge (Mills, Hewitt, Davis)
    Goldy, Nicnat
Wingard, Buddy, Wells, Hall, Benken, Papley (Tippa, McGovern)

  53. Think I’ll hold Barlow myself. His next 4 opponents and average are WC (98), NM (113), Carl (114) and Adel (115). His 3 worst teams are WB (77), GC (78) and Syd (73).. the only other teams he’s had an average sub 100 are Port (93) and StK (94).

Here’s hoping FURL has had enough of the mind games and moves him back into the Mids where he belongs.

  54. So, my plan to sit tight and weather early issues is looking unclever after two terrible captains pics and an epic pile of bad scores in round 2. If I am going to do well I need to give myself a path to that. I’m 96% sure I will trade Barlow –> Papley. I’m feeling like I should also replace Steele, and JJ in his place shifting Adams to the front line using is DDP. Any other idea as to a defender to bring in?

  55. Made some poor mid price choices thinking
    Seeddsman >Adams

  57. So some of the headache has gone down, and the red mist has cleared. I’m now considering
    Barlow -> Papley,
    Gresham -> Parker,
and hoping that Rockliff doesn’t play this week, thereby preserving his current value. However that will mean that both Rocky AND Mitch Robinson are on my bench, which effectively torches this weeks score also – short-term pain for hopefully long-term gain. Then next week, trade Rockliff for Fyfe or similar.
    T/U Good plan
    T/D Think harder Homer

  58. This week i will only be doing rookie corrections.
Barlow is in my team, but his potential is enough to justify holding him for now. These first two rounds (60 and 61) were against his second and third worst averaging teams WB (77) and GC (78). Along with this fyfe scored 61 in round 1 along with mundys 82. Mundy also scored only 78 in round two; so its not only barlow who isnt off to a perfect start. Not to mention in 2012 when barlow started with 72 and 65 then went on to average 95.
So i will be holding on barlow until further notice. 30 trades isnt enough to be trading out players that you could potentially trade back in the coming weeks. Price fluctuations wont cost you anything.

  63. Need some advice. Need to bring in Kennedy this week but who goes? One trade used already: Gresham – Papley. $292k in the bank

b: Gibbo, Laird, Houli, Hartley, Dea, Weitering (AMT, Brown)

c: Ablett, Fyfe, Priddis, Libba, Sheil, Kerridge, b Crouch, Mills (Menadue, Hewett, Davis)

    r: Goldy, Gawn (Grimley)

f: Martin, Barlow, Wells, Hall, Papley, Adams (mcCarthy, Cox)

Oh, and don’t tell me to trade Barlow as I’m going to hang tight with him.
Current thoughts are either McCarthy or Cox. Although I do like having cox hanging around as a loophole option (If only Collingwood’s games were later on the weekend!). Did I just answer my own question?

  64. Thoughts on trading out Rockliff.
Thumbs up for bringing in a member of the Sydney engine room such as Hannebery, Mitchell or Parker.
Thumbs down for bringing in a forward via dpp such as Zorko, Martin or Merrett.

  65. Just a quick one on the app from your phone can you do the trades which require subing a dpp from another line or can you only do that on full website?

  66. Hey all, as with others, rocky and Barlow are on the block this week, I have 2 options
    1.. Rocky to libba
    Barlow to Papely
Leaves 500k in the chest for upgrades

    2.. Rocky to B. Kennedy
    Barlow to Papely
    Leaves 760K in the chest

All depends on the communities thoughts as to wether libba is a mid 8 by the end of the year, although option 2 gives the most cash growth the fastest for maybe 4 prem upgrades in a few weeks easily when things sort them selves out, The 2 cows are the only 2 I have missed out on this year. Any thoughts appreciated

  68. For the Barlow owners considering whether to hold or trade, some takeaways from Lyon at today’s Western Derby press conference:

“centre square problems are fixable and they will stick with what they’re doing”

“have identified some of the problems and they would not change too much heading into Saturday night’s Western Derby”.

“Fundamentally we’ll stick with what we’re doing”.

So basically we’ve got no idea what to expect on Saturday and where Barlow will play….

  69. Hi folks,

So this year I decided no players without a pre season, hence I left out Gaz but for some reason included Rocky! Rookies are looking good but no Gaz could hurt me so I’m thinking Barlow to Lambert and Rocky to Gaz.

Appreciate Lambert isn’t ideal but need the best option forward for under $434k.

T/u Need Gaz, go for it
T/d Go Barlow to Z Merrett and Rocky to Ward/Titch (already have Parker)

    Thanks!

  70. My lock trade this week is:
    Grimly – Papley

My other trade is a bit more of a struggle:
Barlow – Zorko (TU) or Zerrett (TD)
Other option is to back Barlow? I hate this time of year… I have trade anxiety
