Trade Talk – R6

Written by Motts on April 25 2016

Fyfe will be the big name on a lot of coaches’ minds this week.

There’ll be a poll later this week but who are you thinking about now?

Who else is coming and going?

  1. Thinking its time to cull B Kennedy and maybe Menadue. A bit of cash in the bank so will look at a premo to bring in.

    1. @ Daniel_Riches – g’day!!

I know Robbie wins his own footy and he is going to be really cheap, but are Port that bad we should be looking at other gun options in the MIDS (eg if you don’t have them, guys like Priddis / Jelwood / Parker / Sloane / Pendles if Collingwood improve)?

Be interested to hear your thoughts?

      1. G’day Brett,
Good question mate. I rate Robbie as a top 5 player in the comp. Port are struggling at the moment, but he still managed to pump out a 129 in a bad loss to the Crows, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. I think he seems to be a bit frustrated with some of his teammates at the moment and this has reflected on his on field attitude e.g. giving away some silly free kicks. Port didn’t have a great year in 2015, but he still averaged 110. I think that he is only going to get better and with a projected B/E of 195 and 148 in the next 2 rounds, he looks likely to drop under 500k! My plan (pending his next 2 performances) is to trade him into the side round 7 when they play Carlton. I have no inside knowledge or expert opinion, just following my gut mate. Good luck with your trading this week Brett ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thinking about trading Houli to Shaw. I know it’s a bit sideways, but he barely took any kicks-ins on the weekend – his role’s obviously changed a bit…

Only thing swaying me is Rance’s 2 week holiday and if he goes back to his normal role at least until Rance is back (and finds some form)…

T/U – hold on to him – he will come good.
T/D – he’s no longer SC relevant. Gonski.

    3
    1. He’ll average 95 for the year and be up there in the Top10 DEF. Problem is you gotta endure the 50s & 60s as well as the 130s & 140s………

      8

  3. Thumbs up- Fyfe to Byrne Jones bringing Bartel into the middle and 453,800 in the salary to upgrade Bartel/Menadue to a premium mid such as Pendlebury, Selwood or Priddis.
Thumbs down- Fyfe to Pendlebury, Selwood or Priddis.
Also thoughts on should I still hold Jimmy Bartel or trade him for M Boyd or R Laird.

  4. BenK & Libba > Danger & Zorko

    T/U – Do it.. 2 premo’s
    T/D – Don’t trade Libba yet

Have 2k in bank after those trades

    Thanks

    1. Parker is potentially the better pick at this stage as I think he still has 40-50k more to appreciate whereas Hannebery is close to his peak price. Both should be top 10 mids by the end of the year so you can’t go wrong with either really.

      10

  5. It’s a real shame watching champions of the game going down, good luck for a speedy recovery Fyfe!

    Replacment option…

    T/U…..Sidebottom
    T/D…..Zorko

    Cheers SCT coaches

  6. Three players that I would like to get rid of this week S.Jacobs, B.Kennedy, C.Menadue
    T/U – S.Jacobs and B.Kennedy go
    T/D – C.Menadue and B.Kennedy go
    Thoughts would be great thanks

  7. With Fyfe out I’m liking 4 guys
    -Ablett basically a straight swap

    – Pendlebury looks like he will be playing mids again and gain 40K

    – Selwood looks the good with danger in the side gain 40K aswell

    – ward doing very well this year and a bit of a pod

    3

    0
    1. Selwood, Ward, Ablett, Pendles in that order.

Selwood looking good and cheaper than Ablett.

Ablett looking if not injured at least very very sore after being repeatedly illegally targetted this week.

      3

      4
  8. Got 590K in the bank. Thinking of doing a double upgrade & move Adams back to defence from forwards.

Go from Dea & B.Kennedy to 2 forwards in Zorko & Dahlhouse who will hopefully be top 6 forwards.

Thumbs UP: Yep, Zorko & Dahlhouse are worth getting in now as top 6 forw.
Thumbs DOWN: Instead go Zorko & Marc Murphy at 420K & save 150K over Dahlhouse.

Marc Murphy could wait as has 120 BE & likely to go to 420K if scores <100. However, absolute bargain at this price.

    23

    2
    1. Murphy might be a good price, but he won’t be a top 10 mid, so you’ll end up having to use another trade to swap him out later on. On the other hand, Zorko and Dahl are all but guaranteed to be top 6 forwards.

      5

      1
      1. Cheers bAps. Very good point. I love a bargain and will still look at Marc Murphy in future weeks if he gets to 400 to 420K as he should still average >100

  9. 24 Trades Left

T/U Parish to Parker & BenKen to Petracca (depending on teams)
T/D Hold them still more cash to milk.

    1

    19
    1. BenKen is looking after 2 initial good games that his natural level is the 60 ppg. I’m tossing up him or Menadue.

When a cash cow gets a 54 breakeven and LOSES money they are seriously no longer a cow.

      4

      0
      1. BenKen is definitely getting the chop, he might even get the chop from the Melbourne team this week so now’s the time for him to depart.

Menadue should hold his place in the Richmond team for now, given there VFL team lost to Frankston.. FRANKSTON :’) so can’t be much coming up there either to take his spot.

  10. Also, would love to see a write up on what everyone thinks about rookie/cheaper keepers this year. Early days at the moment but players like Adams, Wells, Kerridge to name a few are averaging more then a lot of premos in the same positions. Will be interesting to see everyone’s thoughts as if they are considered keepers, then it means the majority of supercoachers will have a full team a lot earlier then in previous years. Just food for thought

    6

    0
    1. I can probably get that done. With only a four-day break, it might have to wait for next week though………

      3

      0
    2. Let’s not jinx the three of them!!! It is nice just to put them on field at the moment. Hopefully they can all carry on as they are until the byes and then Wiedering, Adams, Kerridge etc can all turn into Rance, Houili, Zorko etc. Been very impressed with all of them so far. If & when D Wells gets to almost prem price of >450K will be interesting as do you hold or do you beat the curve & jump to underpriced 115K prem who may be less injury prone.

      0

      0
      1. Don’t worry Andy, I save the jinxing just for those who I bring into the team. This week I would be more worried about Parker and Selwood who will likely make their debut for mine ๐Ÿ™‚

        3

  11. Need to trade out Fyfe, obviously.

    TU: Parker
    TD: Jelwood
Comment: Blicavs (cheaper, and can use him if either of my rucks go down)

    13

    7
  12. Just something for everyone to think about, I’m seeing a few people mention I’m getting player X cos he’s gonna make me 40K etc..
When trading a premium like Fyfe:
    1) Don’t skimp out. Fyfes a gun that you rely on for that 110-130 score every week. Saving a few bucks won’t help.
    2) will this player score enough to be considered for Captain duties, coz Fyfe was.
    3) Selwood/Pendles/Gray won’t make you money as hopefully you won’t have to trade them. Yes you may save money.
    4) Plan out who you think the top 6-10 mids will be come seasons end, pick one of them.

As for me I think you can’t go wrong with one of:
Dangerfield, Ablett (remember he got a knock last game), Hannebery, Parker, J Selwood, Priddis or Pendlebury.

If your looking for someone a bit different then consider the following:
    S Mitchell
    16% of teams
    130, 144, 97, 141, 87
Looking good but may be rested

    Sidebottom
    2% of teams
    98, 102, 166
    Can he get suspended again?

    Zaharakis
    15% of teams
    132, 133, 101, 129, 82
Do you want a premo Essendon player?

    Ward
    4% of teams
    142, 97, 109, 137, 90

    T Mitchell
    4% of teams
    127, 133, 108, 71, 113

    Ziebell
    3% of teams
    77, 127, 124, 126, 101

    J Kelly
    Just 1% of teams
    100, 113, 121, 111, 100

    Treloar
    5% of teams
    125, 85, 101, 101, 115

    41

    0
    1. The only reason Tom Mitchell isn’t averaging 117 is because he gave away 4 free kicks in round 4. I started with him and have been very happy.

Pendles is in this week for me, and I’ll also be very happy with him back in the midfield scoring consistent 100+’s with the odd 150+

      4

      0
    1. Although his BE is a little high, he should float around that price for a while. I’ll be keeping him and trading him for Houli in two weeks when the latter has bottomed out.

      2

      0
  13. Pretty happy to keep the powder dry this week…

No Fyfe drama, No ridiculously unachievable break evens for the rookies and unless a few must have bubble boys surface I might enjoy a drama free week!

    About bloody time…

    7

    2
  14. Dea out for tom Lee fyfe out for Sam Mitchell already got priddis ablett danger hannberry don’t no who else to bring in for fyfe it’s either ward or Sam Mitchell

    2

    1
    1. Matthew Boyd maybe? Finds a lot of it and looks main beneficiary of Murph & JJ out. Just a thought……

      9

      9
      1. Schwarzwalder do you think M Dea out and M Boyd in is a good trade. Boyd should be a top 10 and could be a top 6 defender at the end of the year. Also I think the injuries to Suckling and Johannisen will be beneficial as he should gather a lot of possesions and increase his scoring. My other trade will be Fyfe to Petracca freeing up 355,300 to use on an upgrade or two. Ideal plan is to trade B Kennedy or C Menadue to M Priddis next week. With those trades this round my team would look like this with 22 trades left.
        Def: H Shaw, M Boyd, J Bartel, D Rich, M Adams, AMT, C Byrne, T Lee.
        Mids- P Dangerfield, D Hannebery, G Ablett, D Shiel, S Kerridge, C Mills, B Kennedy, J Lyons, C Menadue, G Hewitt, R Davis.
        Rucks- T Goldstein, N Naitunai, D Wyatt.
        Fwds- D Zorko, A Hall, M Barlow, D Wells, J DeGoey, L McCarthy, M Brown, C Petracca.
Should I bring Boyd in or get Priddis in this week.

  15. BKennedy to Lee leaves me 476k to upgrade Menadue and Lord help me I think it has to be Toby Greene. Does anyone have any better ideas? Like, say, arsenic?

Josh Smith, Tucker, Cox and Two Metre Peter are on the watchlist.

    4

    2
    1. OK, my better idea is to stick with Menadue (BE 29) for one more week, and instead go Weitering -> Parker.
Sydney have a pretty soft run in the next three games…

      0

      1
  16. Thumbs up- Out: M Dea and N Fyfe, In: M Boyd and C Petracca. Then next week will be able to upgrade Menadue to Priddis/Selwood/Pendlebury.
Thumbs down- Out: N Fyfe, In: M Priddis

    1

    11
  17. Thinking of dropping Menadue to Tom Lee and using the cash to upgrade Zac Smith to NicNat. Worth doing?

    T/U – PULL THE TRIGGER
T/D – Wait a couple more weeks and get Gawn

    13

    3
    1. Gawn will be better, but every week you keep smith will cost you at LEAST 50 points. How far behind can you affordbto get?

      5

      0
  18. Thoughts on Wingard?

Destroyed me 2 games in a row now, not sure if he is still feeling the tight hamstring, but a massive cause for concern. I either trade him this week or i keep him for the long haul. With Richmond this week, he may get back into some form

Fyfe is gone and will be sideways trading him

T/U – Fyfe and Wingard -> Selwood and Zorko
    T/D – Fyfe -> Selwood/Pendles and keep Wingard and trade Bken/Menadue instead

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

    4

    9
    1. I would go Fyfe -> hannebery, but i already have Titchell, Parker and Mills. 4 swans players will be pretty excessive. Jelwood looks like he is in that mood for pulling out 140’s

      1

      0
    2. Read something about concussion for Wingard. Trading premiums at this time of year is generally a no-no, but in this case it might be time to punt him.

      1

      0
    3. If you have bench cover i’d hold onto him Port has Richmond, Brisbane & Carlton coming up and you can’t keep the Chad quiet forever he’s to good a player.

If you don’t have bench cover wait until the teams as there’s talk of a delayed concussion and with how rubbish port is tracking they wouldn’t risk him against the equally disappointing tigers.

  19. can someone please fill me in on tommy lee. job security? havent seen him, what his role is? is he a good trade option this week?

    0

    1
    1. He is the replacement for Roberton who is due back soon so not great JS. Good user of the ball but more your third tall type. He hasn’t ever really established himself in the side but in the past couple of weeks he has been serviceable and does allow St Kilda to play Gilbert further up the ground. At this stage he’s a fringe player.

      3

      0
  20. Fyfe > Pendles
    BKennedy > Simpson

    Onfield upgrades left are
    DEF: Weitering, Dea
    MUD: Libba, Mills, Oliver
    FWD: Kerridge, Adams, McTip

Hoping I can ride the FWD/DEF rookies til about 400k and they should be easyish 1 up/1 down

    7

  21. was planning on bringing shaw this week but now need to offload fyfe

    T/U fyfe to parker
T/D fyfe to pendlebury which fits in better with my bye structure

    1

    9
    1. never got off it. go barlow. smash it out for the rest of the season with fyfe out!!! barlow to average 100+ for the remainder of season. well thats what im hoping anyway

      13

      0
  22. Need to get rid of Lonergan. Should have downgraded last week but trying to conserve trades. Only have up to $500K and can go to any line except Rucks with DPP. So:

    TU – KSimpson
    TD – Franklin
Comment – any other viable options

    3

    5
    1. Marc Murphy?

set you back less than the two above mentioned his score took a huge hit from his concussion last week is at 440K at the moment has a breakeven of 121 & they play Essendon this week so he may go back up.

thinking a similar trade except either BenKen or Parish – Murphy.

      0

      1
    1. there might be a couple good options next week but if they are selected in the starting 22 this week you could pull the trigger early to generate some cash to upgrade kreuzer asap. there are 3 that im looking at as many will be. we can only do 2 trades a week so might be worth the gamble to trdae 1 in early then potentially both in the week after and wait for the cash to roll in (rubs hands together)

      0

  23. Fyfe => Parker
    BKen => Dahlhaus

    TU Good Trades
TD Someone else in mid and / or Zorko instead of Dahlhaus (comment)

    9

    0
  24. Poor Fyfe
do we make the most of the trade and bring in someone who potentially will average higher (dangerfield) or do we trade in someone who is currently at a lower price but can achive similiar outputs but probably wont have a ceiling as high (selwood).
money isnt really as issue, and shouldnt be when replacing someone like fyfe i feel. who to go?
    T/U dangermouse
    T/D Selwood mcduck

    5

  25. so i want to get rid of b kennedy this week and fyfe has to go obviously as well. I’ve narrowed it down to ward, hanners and s mitchell. my only concern with hanners is that i have parker in my side – but so far that hasn’t been an issue with both parker and hanners scoring well. gut is telling me hanners and ward (as it is highly likely that s mitchell will be rested a couple of times during the year) but my gut has been wrong on quite a few players already this year.
    t/u: hanners and ward
    t/d: hanners and s mitchell
    comment: ward and s mitchell

  26. Have Danger, Ablett, Hanners, T Mitchell, Pendlebury in mids, who to bring in for Fyfe out of Ward (inconsistent?), Priddis or S Mitchell (rested in late season), Sidebottom (temper), Selwood (temper/consistancy)??
    Thanks legends

    0

    0
    1. It appears that you may have answered your own question by process of elimination – Priddis surely the last man standing?

In all seriousness for me it would be one of Ward, Priddis or Selwood.

      0

      0
    1. In the same predicament at the moment. He may be ruled out this week with delayed concussion. If he does play, port have a good run and he may hit some form. I’ve decided to stick with him just because he can come good

  1. Trying to decide which midfield keeper to trade in:

    T/U – Pendlebury

    T/D – JPK + $96,500

Both are going to end up in my side, it’s just deciding who comes in this week.

  2. Salem looks ripe to go:

    T/U: T Mitchell
    T/D: JJ Kennedy

Or comment for otherwise? Have Gray, Bont, Dahlhaus & Swan already

  3. Looking to improve scoring in the back line & keep H.Goddard (due for a game soon, DPP & handy loophole) so B.Goodes is man to go.

Thumbs UP: Goodes to Tom McDonald
Thumbs DOWN: Goodes to Bob Murphy

    Comment for Josh Gibson

Have got by & reasonably lucky with a back line of H.Shaw, Higgins, Newnes, Oxley, Saad, McIntosh with Goodes & Goddard. However at 209 o/a i need another 30 points per game down back & have 430K in the bank.
PS, McIntosh will be first to cashed out of the scoring rookies once he has fattened a little bit more as Oxley & Saad are keepers until at least the bye for me or could even both be final upgrades due to their good JS & scoring.

  4. Thinking of upgrading rich to a premium:

    T/U JPK

    T/D Neale

Leaves me enough money to downgrade van Berlo to a rookie and upgrade Heeney to a premium

    Thoughts?

  5. Just one trade this week: NVB -> Glenn (if named)

Then cashed up for a double upgrade at some stage, probably Salem and McIntosh to go. Will watch the fallen premiums this week.

  6. Goodes โ€“> Mckenzie

    Tbc โ€“> Grundy (TU)
    OR Newnes โ€“> McDonald/pittard ((TD).

  7. I have lewis and sloane in my mids plus anderson and heeney on the bench. Waiting to see what happens with mrp regarding lewis and how bad sloanes calf is before I trade. Ideally would like to keep them(hate trading premos) both but if they are out for a few weeks then my hand might be forced. Over TBC so im considering swinging him into my r3 then downgrading to harris. Will leave me with a bit over 300000 to play with in case I need to make yet another forced trade. Would love the communities thoughts.

  8. Looking at moving on Newnes this week. He’s done such an average job that I’ve had him on the bench the last 2 weeks, and he’s still losing cash. Getting rid of him plus NVB (also spent the last 3 on the bench) allows me to bring in Fyfe plus a defence rookie of up to $190k (I’m thinking Kelly – even after a first price rise he still has a -BE)

  9. Can anyone tell me the BE of the following players

    Jong
    Salem

    Ebert
    Franklin
    McDonald

Also, I know you don’t want to be wasting trades early but I am in a very high scoring league and have dropped the past 2. At what stage do you say enough is enough and give Newes and to a lesser extent Hilbert the flick?

    Thanks

  10. Was gonna drop Newnes last week for McDonald. That’s now a $40k higher ask than last week and clearly my first trade of the week.

The second may be a defender in as well. Whether for M Clarke or T Hunt is the question, using Missy’s dpp is an option.

At this point it’s a tossup between J Pittard or L Picken. I am tempted to wait a couple for a Brodie Smith recovery but by then i expect to cull Saad, McIntosh or maybe lose patience with Lamumba.

Regretting taking Hunt over Clancee Pearce at present. ๐Ÿ™

  11. The lure of a cheap dpp def/mid of young Mackenzie is quite strong, as is Glenn’s first game. Could see a culling of a few cash cows next week.

  12. I am sitting on a number of issues and its going to be more which is most urgent. Players that I want to lose:
    Lumumba, Newnes, Parker, Griffin, Goodes.
also sweating on the length of Lewis’ suspension.
Ive got 250 grand in the bank but i was hoping to use that on turning salem or similar into a premium :.(

  13. Another week of not having a single clue on what to do. I feel content with my team right now with the exception of N.van Berlo losing cash, but I haven’t seen any rookies on the radar other than J.Glenn, who has only played the one game.

    DEF
    H.Shaw, A.Oxley, K.Simpson, A.Saad, T.Hunt, M.Hibberd (J.Newnes, K.McIntosh)

    MID
    N.Fyfe, S.Pendlebury, R.Sloane, J.Kennedy, C.Ellis-Yolmen, A.Vandenberg, P.Cripps, N.Krakouer (N.van Berlo, T.Miller, I.Heeney)

    RUC
    T.Goldstein, T.Bellchambers (T.Read)

    FWD
    D.Swan, D.Martin, M.Bontempelli, R.Gray, J.Hogan, R.Tarrant (C.Salem, M.Clark)

    $142,300 in the bank.

As always, any feedback, advice or criticism is appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Got a few players to loose myself. Newnes, Newton, Salem, Hogan etc…
My first upgrad will be Newnes to McDonald and Newton to JPK via Swan to Forwards.

  15. I get that he still has quite a bit of cash to make but i’m always happy to cull a rookie if I have the potential to get a keeper… That said, what are your thoughts on these trades?

    Ellis Yolmen -> Bennell
    Newnes -> Rance

The Bennell trade means that next week i’ll be able to bring him into the forward line in (what i’m hoping) will be a double downgrade week. If I had enough cash I’d be doing Salem -> Bennell (though i’d be 25 K off Rance and I don’t like many of the defenders around at 480 K at present).

Next week’s trades will most likely be something along the lines of Salem -> Grant (Via Bennell) and McIntosh -> McKenzie

  16. Team is sort of OK atm, and guys who hurt me have also picked good scores along the way (HarryO, Missy, Griff). My problem is I’ve had all my trades as compulsory (Bartel White, Gaz, Rock, Yarren) and have only $40k so might have to suffer the bleed from those others while I build a bank for a couple more weeks hoping for a decent run on the injury and suspension front!!.

  17. Hello SCT Community,

With James Kelly having a busted left one, i need to trade him out. Now, with my limited funds, should I go all fancy and grab a smokey like L.Picken (seems not to be tagging anymore) or Seedsman (meters gained king) or burn a trade and go for a more established def, e.g someone like Birchall.

    Comments please – Much appreciated

  18. I’ve decided to hold Newes this week. There’s just no options to bring in that are consistent enough to warrant a trade atm. I’m looking at Hogan/Sheed out for Dangerfield and Gray. Although Barlow is really really REALLY cheap atm!

  19. Anyone feel that Hanners getting back in form is affecting Parkers SC output? Parker at that price is a steal if he’s gonna get back last seasons form..

  20. Salen to Ziebell for 100k changeover surely worth a look i think….. At worst will make a good bench player in the forward line for the later rounds…. Upside can go big , downside good chance he will knock himself out

  22. Thoughts on downgrading newnes to mckenzie and then upgrading van berlo to shiel/kennedy.

    T/u good idea
    T/d not so much

My first year and a bit unsure of how to tackle the whole upgrade process

  23. i have lumumba (b/e 123) so I feel I should move him on given that hes susceptible to take a tagging role mid-game.

only good options i see are gibson (b/e 86) and houli (b/e 76)

  24. Salem – Gray

I know his BE is high but every point he scores is one I don’t get and 47% of people do.

  25. Ryan Griffen the long haired spud has annoyed me to trigger point.

    Thumbs Up: Keep the faith
Thumbs Down: Hello Pendles (or maybe Shiel)

  26. Hi all, popping my SuperCoach Talk cherry finally! Doing fairly well sitting at about 2.5k overall.

I was thinking about finally bringing in R.Gray this week, ive been holding out because of the recent injury cloud surrounding him but hes seems fighting fit now.

    T/U: Salem
    T/D: Hogan

give me your thoughts, i have a fair bit of cash in the kitty so this trade is easy.

    cheers, Dee out.

  27. Should I trade in Glenn a week early so I can get an extra premium right now instead of in two weeks? Lets me get ahead of the pack I think in my league.

    This week:
    NVB > Glenn
    Salem > Gray

    Next week:
    Goodes > McKenzie

    In a couple of weeks:
    Vandenberg > Sloane

  28. I really can’t stand the sight of Newnes and Griffen in my team anymore, those guys have just not delivered enough.

I definitely have enough $$$ to afford any midfielder or defender in replacement for either Newnes or Griffen, but with that $$$ I can only afford to upgrade one of these underperformers this week (with having approx $155,700 and 24 trades left) since last week I upgraded Salem to Franklin.

So, who should go out first community?

T/U – Newnes out for my thought out possible replacements in Taylor, Murphy, Houli…
T/D – Griffen out for my thought out possible replacements in JPK,Hannebery,Heppell,Boak,….

Should be my only trade this week, hopefully if Sloane’s injury isn’t too serious…

    Cheers guys ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Thinking of Roberton to Ebert or Shiel via Saad DPP. Shiel is a gun but have a couple of tough games coming up. Ebert might go elite this year in this gun Port midfield. Thoughts?

Also thinking whether I should go Lumumba to Harbrow (Harbrow has a good avg. but it’s come against weaker opposition).

    Thoughts welcome.

  30. Hello community

    what is the better trade?
    heeney to pendelbury
    or
    salem to goddard

Do we think that if we dont have pendelbury we need to get him in now? or wait until after the byes?

    thoughts appreciated…

  31. Hardly the first to post this, but considering using some cash for Salem > Dahlhaus or Bont. Salem is falling flat and I can’t see that turning around vs Sydney and Hawthorn in the next 2 weeks. Just not sure which of the two is a better option. Have Gray, Martin, Swan already and will also look for a fallen premiums article. ๐Ÿ™‚

    T/U Dahlhaus
    T/D Bont
Comment for another option to consider.

  32. Im at a stalemate whether or not to trade this week…. Currently sitting at 20,000ish and like most, want to move higher.
I feel that my Fwds and Mids are strong….. Do I trade out Goodes/Heeney for a cheap rookie and upgrade Newnes (T/Up) or TBC (T/Down)?
** Any other advice, please leave details, cheers! **

Shaw, Lamumba, NEWNES, Oxley, McIntosh, Saad (GOODES, Brown)
Fyfe, Pendles, JoelWood, Sloane, Dangerfield, Beams, CEY, Cripps (HEENEY, Touk, Smith)
    Goldstein, TBC (Cox)
Swan, Bennell, Bont, Gray, Hogan, Tarrant (Krak, Clarke)

  34. Hi all,

Going the double upgrade this week.

I have finally had enough of Newnes and am wanting T.McDonald as my target (almost picked him at start of season but didn’t have the guts!)

Secondly, upgrading Salem to either JPK or Hannebury (via Krak).

Would be interested to hear the communities thoughts…

    Cheers

  35. Gonna ditch sandilands this week. He’s already dropped significant cash and his average is piss poor with a huge b/e. Already got Grundy so thinking about blitz or Martin. Got cash for both, should I save the cash with blitz or go for Martin?

    T/U – Stef Martin @ $569k
    T/D – Blicavs @ $461k
    Comment: Dont trade sandi

  36. James Kelly is a forced trade for me so he will become T.Mac and I cant stand Newnes any longer so he may become Japer Pittard, love the way he goes about playing and Ports run gets a bit easier now.

  38. Evening gents,

Got 2 trades in my mind this week and would like some feedback on which ways I should go, if any!

Trade 1. Salem to J. Ziebell or T. Adams.
Both a little left field although I think a few may be jumping on the Ziebell wagon. Just think they’re both too cheap to pass up!

Trade 2. Judd to Sheil or Pendles.
This one may seem a little more straight forward but just wanted to here people’s thoughts on sheil. He has had 1 poor game and the rest are above 119. Surely that has to be respected or is still too early in the season?

I’m 4-0 in my league so can take a risk and bring in Pendles around bye time.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  40. Oxley and Ellis-Yolmen keepers?

Might look at nudging out Salem this week.
Hold off trading anything else for now, then upgrade McIntosh, Bellchambers or Higgins next week?

  41. Thinking Bellchambers to Grundy this week before he gets to pricey. Also, is Burgoyne to Houli to sideways? Should I just ride out Burgoyne and hope he finds some form or is time to part ways?

  42. i haver 430k in the bank after downgrading to krak and tarrant last week. pretty much have all the good rookies with low or neg be’s, but my def’s are really stinking it up. getting really sick of newnes and lumumba but there is anyone worth upgrading to? i can get the likes of mcdonald, pittard or rance who are averaging 30 points more and still have lots of cash but is it worth it- kinda the most boring upgrades ever!

T/U use the trades you’ll score another 60 points based on averages
T/D defenders this year are crap, stick solid the’ll even out

  43. Lumumba is on my hit list for a cull in week 13. Question is though should I ride it out till then, or trade him now.

T/U Ride out the storm, he will average at least 80+.
    T/D Cut him loose

  44. Two trades for me:

    Newnes -> McDonald
Salem -> Stef Martin (via Bellchambers)

    455k left in the bank.

TBC as R2 was an issue but not so much as an F6 so fingers crossed Stef stays injury free now that I’m prepared to bring him in.

Forward are Gray-lite at the moment… Swan/Martin/Bont/TBC/Tarrant/Krak (Clark/Hogan) – TBC might have to go next week with a downgrade in the backs if McIntosh (for McKenzie) barely clears his 34 BE.

  45. Looking to upgrade my forward lineโ€ฆ

TU: Goddard (507k) – won’t get cheaper than this
TD: Dahlhaus (520k) – nice draw coming up

Already have Grey, Swan & Martin.

  46. Midfield currently consists of:

Fyfe, Pendles, Sloane, Danger, Griffin, CEY, Jong, Cripps (VB, Miller, Krak)

Looking to trade Jong out this week for a premium mid, got 900k to spend. WHich super premium mid do y’all recommend? Cheers.

  47. Just Salem to Goddard this week, leaving only 14k leftover and 25 trades.

Keeping Newnes for now as IMO it’s a waste of a trade when I have other rookies to upgrade. Only other potential trade is a downgrade for Heeney to make some cash, will be keeping an eye on rookie review.

    Thoughts?

  48. CEY to Rocky round 8 looking like a straight swap, providing rocky gets on the park this week and has 2 decent games.

I’m looking to get Robbie Gray in this week at the expense of Salem (via some extra cash from goodes to Mckenzie). However after a bit of research and BE calcs, could get Gray and Goddard in the next 2 weeks to complete my fwd line (along with swan/martin/harvey/bennell). Keen on some thoughts

T/U : R5 OUT: Salem, Goodes IN Gray, Mckenzie

T/D: R5: OUT: Salem, Goodes, IN Goddard, Mckenzie
R6: OUT: Hogan, Clark, IN: Gray, Glenn (via Krak dpp)

  49. Newnes is going to recieve the chop but for who is the million dollar question. So
    T/U McDonald
    T/D Houli
Comment someone else if you dont like either much. I thought long and hard whether or not to select Houli. I like the way he plays but that consistency was the deciding factor and i doubted that he would find it. As it is 5 games in and his lowest score being 86 i think and him now setting his bar at the 165 mark means that his team mates feel comfortable with him having plenty of the pill. With that though brings attention from opposing coaches. This is where i feel that McDonald comes in because he is a different type of player and lets face it Melbourne are less of a threat so he should be able to find that consistency more freely.

  50. I have Heeny and Jong and Sloane. If all are out next week, that means no cover at all for the midfield, possibly for several weeks I am pondering bringing in Glenn for Jong a week early. That both gives me cover and gives me an extra trade next week if needed. The risk of course is an injury to Glenn next week, stopping him from getting his thrid game.

I do not have any other cows I want to trade out, and I expect to need a trade for B Goodes to D McKenzie next week. (I hate having two traded planned ahead of time, since an injury means a problem with no way to fix or missing out on a rare downgrade target.)

Thoughts on bringing in Glenn this week, assuming Sloane is really out?

  51. This round I will be getting rid of Newnes and Salm but it is just for who is the problem. For Newnes I can afford either McDonald or Pittard, both are great options I was thinking of McDonald but the demons have two tough teams in a row and Pittard is slightly cheaper. For Salem there are a lot of cheaper premium options in Dalhouse, T.Mitchell, Betts and Goddard. I like Betts and his next three opponents but I am also thinking about Mitchell and Goddard who is a bit more expensive then those two.
    Thoughts?

  53. My issues are Goodes Kelly Sloane Newness Salem and Lewis in that rough order.

Goodes obvious high be low if any J’s or game time trade
Kelly could hold as I have two winnable league games and who are the top keeper defs? Probably trade
Sloane uncertain but couldn’t b more than 2 keeper hold
Newness ave about his price could come good and to who? Hold
Salem with Goodes /Kelly higher priority hold a week
    Lewis two weeks keeper hold

So Downgrade Goodes and trade Kelly or
upgrade Goodes hold Kelly 230 k in bank

  55. Gonna break SuperCoach rule #9, I’m bringing in a rookie before he’s played his third game! Now before you condemn me hear me out!
My planned trades are This week Hogan/Sheed for Gray/Glenn, Next week Newes/McIntosh for Smith/McKenzie, leaving me at least $300k to hopefully double upgrade to ?Rockcliff? And another fallen premo.
TUp Good idea Matteo go for it!
TDown why tempt fate? Reverse! REVERSE TRADE!!

  56. Just the one trade for me this week. Not sure who to being in from Sydney. Been looking at Kennedy and Hannebery, I already have Fyfe, Pendlebury, Sloane. I can afford either and enough for another upgrade next week along with a cash cow.

    T/U: Kennedy.
    T/D: Hannebery.
    Comment: Someone else. Maybe Mundy??

  58. Salem is definitely out this week for Pendles via DPP.

CEY/Goodes have thrown a spanner in the works. I think I’ll give Goodes another chance, sub effected or not his replacements (Smith/Hibberd/Simpson) are all falling in price too so it’s not a huge deal if he drops a few $$.

CEY is my only non playing player to loophole, so if Pendles (VC) goes large i’ll hold onto CEY for now to loophole the VC score but if he fails to provide a decent score then I may knee jerk on CEY as I need to start upgrading as I have plenty of other cash cows!

MID: Fyfe, Pendlebury, Beams, Sloane and Parker
    FWD: Gray, Martin, Swan, Bontempelli

    $564,100 to spend.

T/U: Josh P Kennedy or Shiel
    T/D: Goddard or Dahlhaus
