  1. Planned trades assuming favourable team selections and confirmation of Macrae’s hamstring severity:
    OUT: Doedee, Macrae, Ronke
    IN: Smith,J, Kelly,J, Gray,R
Next week Guelfi out for Treloar, via Heeney for full premo.
Have Ahern and Mundy for dpp MID/FWD swing.
Five trades left AFTER next week.

    15

    3
  2. Which defender to bring in this week?
    TU: Andrews
    TD: Hurley
Please comment any other suggestions (already have laird, yeo, simmo, hurn). Thanks.

    12

  3. E Phillips and B Ronke out for P Ahern and O Wines is locked in but unsure on the 3rd trade.

TU: P Cripps in for N Holman as M9, J Lloyd in for T Doedee next week and Webster as D7 later in the season if funds permit.

TD: H Andrews in for T Doedee as D6, get Cripps next week and then bring in J Webster as D7 when he returns from injury.

    Current backline is:
    Def: R Laird, K Simpson, E Yeo, M Hurley, J Sicily, T Doedee, (L Austin, I Cumming)

    Current midfield is:
    Mid: P Dangerfield, N Fyfe, T Mitchell, C Oliver, J Kelly, S Coniglio, D Zorko, O Wines, (N Holman, P Ahern, C Ballard)

  4. I still think bringing in Andrews is a dangerous move. Has been very good lately but could be some very average weeks as will be picking up best fwd every week.
I would rather a safer Hurn, Hurley or Simpson personally.

    5
  5. Crouch to Kelly?

Disappointing by Crouchy and I know it’s somewhat sideways, but rest of midfield is Fyfe, Danger, Titch, Bont, Cripps, Coniglio, Rocky

    TU Make the trade
    TD skip Kelly

    1. Watch Bontempelli cop the Jacobs tag this week in what could be a difficult time for him whilst McRae is out.

  7. Ranked 147… Thinking of
    Doedee, Holman > Hurley, Kelly

This leaves me with 10 trades, and if Smith plays, 20 playing, 78k in the bank. Pushes rockliff to m9 after the byes with just Logan Austin to upgrade until full Premium.

    TU: Good Trades
    TD: Think Again
I feel like this is my best week to try and crack into the top 100 with 20 playing potentially.

    1. I like those two trades – you don’t have a downgrade (Ahern, Mihocek) in there. Did you bring them in early?

I think most coaches will have more playing this week (compared to the last two rounds), so you’ll probably want to go in with 19-20.

      1. Yeah, had to bring both in Last week, Ahern just so I could have 3 trades this week and Miho due to lack of players

  8. Doedee => Hurley
    Ronke => Ahern
Austin => J Kelly via Keeffe from Fwd line & Walters from Midfield

    Full premo with 7 trades & $7k !!

    T/U like it
    T/D try again

    Thanks guys

  9. Doedee > Yeo
    Murphy > Hurley

Dahlhaus should spend more time in the midfield & score better now Macrae & McLean are injured ..

    5

    5
  10. Champion West Coast forward Josh Kennedy looks almost certain to miss Thursday’s clash with Essendon in Perth and could be sidelined for up to a month.

Kennedy is the latest injury casualty in another blow to the Eagles’ premiership hopes for this season.

The powerhouse scoring source is nursing bone damage in his right knee and expected to fail any attempt to prove fit enough to take on the Bombers.

  11. Currently have savage sitting at d6 with Yeo/Simpson/Ryan/Sicily/laird. Saints have the bye this week. Do I trade for Hurley this week or possibly wait for Webster to come back in?

    TU: Hurley this week
    TD: Wait for Webster
    Comment: hold him

    13

    3
      1. I can wait one more week if needed. But question is will Hurley pass his BE this week and when will Webster be back?

        0

        1
        1. impossible to answer either right now, but would wager that Hurley will be a little cheaper next week!

          2

          0
        2. I’m also holding Savage at D6. If Webster misses hoping he gets more of the ball. If Webster comes back I’ll likely grab Hurley (but running thin on trades so also may not)

          3

          0
    1. see latest poll for more meaningful sample size amongst SCTers. I traded Macrae out this week for Kelly, with the intention of filling my last MID spot over the next week few weeks, with either Danger or Treloar.
Kelly is a bigger risk (OP injury), but i feel he has a bigger ceiling and is slightly more consistent. My decision was made easier this week as Kelly’s BE is 30 less than Treloar’s. If he does go down injured, it means he should be higher-priced and will therefore be easier to replace.
I’m also just outside the top 1,000 so want to take the bigger risk/reward option to try and make some ground up.
      diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks!
      good luck!

  12. OUT: Doedee, Holman, T Smith
    IN: Oliver, Ahern, J Smith
11 trades after this, 2 upgrades – 1 mid and 1 def (with Fritsch F7)

    TU: Good trades
    TD: Reassess

    12

    3
    1. Upgrade targets will be:
      DEF: McDonald, Lloyd, Hurley,
MID: Kelly, Treloar (really hesitant due to being burned previously), Curnow, Neale

      1

      1
  13. Cash- $9,700
    OUT- Doedee, Holman, Fritsch
    IN- Yeo, Ahern, Gray

Don’t want to trade Fritsch but need to in order to bring both Yeo and Gray.

Is it worth going early on Fritsch?
    T/U- Yes
    T/D- No

    16

    17
  14. Who to trade in for Holman
Current Mids : Fyfe. Cogs. Bont Cripps Dusty Titch. & Ahern

    TD : J Kelly

    1. Agree with the thumbs. Only question would be:
What is your current MID line-up?
Yeo and Ahern big ticks from me.

      1

      0
        1. Personally I’d go Kelly, but I’d recommend you read through the Poll on Kelly v Treloar first before you make a decision. You’ve plenty of trades left and you will need another premo MID at some point too; there are some very valid, diverse and interesting views on there you might also want to consider.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

  16. Austin, Murphy and Holman > Crisp, Mihocek and J.Smith
Leaves me with 6 trades and 100k leftover with a full premium team (Hurley D6, Parker M8, Nank R2 & Walters F6).

    TU- Do it
    TD- Reassess

    5

    9
  17. Trade 1 – Murphy to redman
Cover for the bye this week. Will sit back on my bench next week. Also gives me 18 on the field

Trade 2 – Holman to wines
Completes my midfield. Port have a good run home and I reckon he can average 115+ from here

    Trade 3 – D.Fogarty to J.smith (melb)
Fogarty’s scoring potential is shocking. Sick of him even on my bench. Also Smith will make me money and give me extra cash for next week.

    11

    2
  18. Which trade to do?

TU: Doedee, Higgins, Barry for Hurley, R Gray, Ahern
TD: Doedee, Higgins, Barry for Hurn, R Gray, Mihocek

Comment for anything else. I am certain on trading those players out but I am uncertain on which players I should bring in. I could bring in yeo, but that means I cannot afford to get R Gray as well.

    12

    1
  19. TU: Ed Curnow & J. Smith
    TD: Treloar & Mihocek

Dave Curnow ( Ed’s dad) was the first XVII coach at my school and little Ed used to stir up my German Shepherd under the fence when I was a teenager. I like someone that is willing to poke the bear.

    7

    9
  20. Kelly or Ward? Ward cheaper and averaged pretty high after his bye last year (can’t remember what exactly) whereas Kelly is more expensive and has that injury risk but could go absolutley bananas. If I go Ward will allow me to go Guelfi to Buddy with 5 trades and at least $24,000 left in the bank and a finished team. Would really appreciate some comments and/or thumbs on this one, doing my head in.

    T/U – Kelly
    T/D – Ward

  21. Can anybody dissuade me from trading in Jack Crisp?

Is very durable, having played every game for the past three seasons. Collingwood has a soft draw, with Carlton, Gold Coast and Essendon in the next three weeks. Currently has a 5 round average of 110.6, with a low of 97.

At a (relatively) cheap price of $510,800 and an ownership of only 2.5%, is he the perfect POD for the remainder of the season?

    9

    1
    1. I really like Crisp and I believe the reasons you state are spot on, BUT I just feel I’ve missed the boat. He’s now priced high given his recent impressive and consistent form. I should have gone with my instinct a few weeks ago, but I didn’t.

Trading Ronke OUT this week, I had to make the choice between Crisp by swinging TMac or Sicily forward (both are in my DEF) or just straight trade for Robbie Gray.
      Two reasons:
      i. saves me $10k which will afford me to go Guelfi to Treloar/Danger next week without having to raise cash with another trade (only 6 left as it is), and
ii. I bottled it. Gray is proven and SHOULD outscore Crisp from here to the season’s end, but I’d be delighted to be proven wrong.

Articulating my rationale on the keypad has me questioning my decision … again.

      2

      0
      1. Yeah, fair enough.

It is between TMac and Crisp for me. Whilst I like TMac’s DPP status, I am still somewhat sceptical given that he is yet to play a match this year without scoring at least 2 goals. With the $50k price difference and the increased likelihood of injuries for TMac, I am struggling to find reasons to not bring in Crisp instead.

  22. This might seem like a strange question, but I just saw a job ad that got me thinking….

Does SuperCoach count as investment experience?

TU: Sure. You buy the cows, sell the cows, buy the premiums, project their output…
TD: That’s clearly not what they had in mind.

  23. Currently have 12 trades and $9,700.
    This Week –
Trade Out- Doedee, Holman and Fritsch
Trade In- Yeo, Ahern and Gray
Leaves me with $45,900 and 9 trades.

    Next Week –
    Trade Out- Guelfi and Giles-Langdon
Trade In- Battle and Cripps/Premo mid
Leaves me with around $10,000 and 7 trades.

This would leave me with Hibberd, Dahlhaus and Jacobs in my team and hopefully trade them out.

Let me know what you think.

  24. need your help guys, Im low on trades and short on numbers this week.
going for league wins (top 8 in all leagues currently) and would appreciate the communities input.
7 trades left 440k in the bank.

backs: lloyd laird yeo simpson sicily savage. bench: austin heron
mids: fyfe tich cripps merrett danger t.kelly crouch walters bench giro barry ohern
    rucks: gawn grundy
    fwds: heeney mclean d.smith ronke l.ryan bench: z.langdon t.smith

unsure if using the cash to turn kelly and ronke into oliver/kelly/wines by way of walters is worth it. if i do these trades i will need 2 trades to turn last rookie into onground premo, weather its fwd or back (by way of sicily)
are these trades worth it or should i look for a bargain so i can trade my last rookie to a premo whilst keeping one more trade for injuries?

    thumbs up: go for wines/oliver/kelly
thumbs down: get yourself a bargain and save the trade

  26. 11 trades and 22k only in bank. Desperately need league wins to stay in hunt for finals in very close league!

Doedee to Wingard (Sicily to def)
    Austin to Mihocek
    Nank to Grundy
Def and forwards done with final midfielder to be done next week.

    1. looks good, but you only have 5 defs on field!

See how Treloar and JKelly go this week. You can also consider Neale after his bye. Personally wouldn’t be looking at anyone else, tho’ Wines and Bont seem to be getting some traction on here. You have enough trades to risk going for Kelly. If he can stay fully fit and push GWS towards finals, he’ll likely go big from here to the season end. That’s what i keep telling myself anyway! 😉

      Good luck!

      2

      1. The other Def is Webster! So may also need to consider sideways if his abductor issues are serious.
Good point on the Mid – I had kelly for 3 weeks during his injury then lost patience/couldn’t afford to have him on the pine so traded for Oliver (great call in hindsight) so am a bit wary of him now and Treloars B/E up at 120 he is pretty expensive.

Wingard the cheap alternative to a “premo” if he continues in the midfield which I think he will with Robbie playing so well forward. Can then upgrade to a Treloar/Kelly if he continues to make cash (be of 16) but has an off game/gets moved back to forward line. Of course the trade off is Westy as M8 but simultaneously with 8 trades left can change him if needed but really liking the way Port are playing and with such a nice draw can see these two maintaining high scores!

    1. Tough one. I have Westhoff but will he drop off given his age? Gunston looks a great POD and is a lot more consistent in his scoring. Just be aware that Gunston played DEF last week so position is unclear right now, though is proven to give decent output at either end of the ground.
      Good luck!

  33. Yeo and Ahern come in this week. I was thinking of bringing TMac in this week (ddp swing with Sicily) but given the responses above I am having second thoughts. I have one defensive spot and one forward spot to fill. I am considering three premiums, help me choose the best two.

UP – Gray (this week) and Lloyd (next week) – proven reliable guns
DN – TMac (this week) and Gray (next week) – opens up dpp but miss Lloyd

Comment – TMac (this week) and Lloyd (next week) – opens dpp but pass on Gray

    Current team is-
DEF- Laird, Lloyd, Hurley, Simpson, Hibberd, Doedee (Mirra, Austin)
MID- Titch, Danger, Fyfe, Zerrett, Dusty, Oliver, Cogs, Dahlhaus (Holman, Phillips, Giro)
    RUC- Gawn, Jacobs (McInerney)
FWD- Heeney, McLean, Sicily, D. Smith, Fritsch, Guelfi (T. Smith, Langdon)

Currently have 12 trades and $9,700.
    OUT- Doedee, Holman, Austin
    IN- Yeo, J. Smith(early), Ahern

    9 trades and $248,700
    OUT- Langdon, Guelfi
    IN- Gray, Battle

This would leave me with 7 Trades and $190,200 roughly.
Would still have Hibberd, Dahlhaus, Jacobs and Fritsch.

  37. FYI, just realised Laird doesn’t have a blue dot next to his name on field when I log into the SC website. I’ve been counting him all week as a warm body without thinking. Just a warning to anyone else who has him in case the missing blue dot is across the board.

  38. Trade Holman up 30k to Rocky as M9 bench cover but on field this round for byes, but postpones completing my team to beginning of round 16 instead of next week start of round 15.

TU: Do it, need the midfield cover and rocky will make up for the points this round that I lose by having one week less of full premo.
TD: nah, waste of a trade, prefer Holmans cash, and finish team as soon as possible.

I have 18 players this week. Walters to Gray would give me 19 and I could drop Liam Ryan’s score out of the 18. Ranked 6000 and aiming for top 1000.

  53. Have gone Doedee & Brayshaw to Yeo and Ahern already this week
11 trades left with one upgrade (or two if I trade Boak). Probably need a win to cement top 4 in league

Phillips to J Smith to get 18 on field?
    TU: Yep
    TD: No good

  54. Kitty + Ronke + Henry = Gunston + Wingard

I’m locked in to get Gunston and likely to get Wingard.

Will give me a full team(ish) with 7 trades for injuries.
    D6 – Shaw, D7 – Austin
    M8 – Rocky, M9/M10 – Holman/Ahern
    R2 – Goldy (not Grundy)
    F5 – Wingard, F6 – Fritsch

    Thoughts??

TU – Get Gunston and Wingard
TD – Gunston for sure but Wingard…..??

  56. Sorry, I know this question and similar ones have been asked multiple times, but pls help a guy who still can’t make a decision.

    TU Oliver
    TD Treloar

I’m ruling out Kelly due to injury concerns, and next week I’ll plan to bring in Danger as my last upgrade.
