Back to regular programming with nine games per weekend…..thank God (Ablett Snr)!

Are you close to full strength? Are there any moves to make this week?

  1. Just realised Hannebery is only $326k. Do we think he’s a legit cheap option for M8/9 if he keeps up the form?

    1. Keep an eye on him. Got another free look at him this week coming then make a call next week.

    2. Been waiting on him all year. 90% sure he’s coming into my team. Left a spot for him at this stage.

    1. Nateo – if you dont have Yeo, I’d consider him … he’s back to his best, playing pure mids and is a contested / tackle beast – all great scoring in SC!! AND I think he has a good draw …

  2. Duursma>Logue
    Hayes>Sloane

I probably should have brought in Logue last week. Gonna have to miss out on Hind it seems.

  3. Alright legends you know the drill!

    TU: Hore > Logue
    B. Smith > Hurn
    195k left

    TD: Hore > Logue
    O. Baker > Sloane
    79k remain

    Thanks!!

  4. Definitely going Answerth > Naish.

Not sure who to pick up:

    TU: Sloane (or other mid)

    TD: N. Hind

    1. Make sure you have a second option in mind… Cotchin, Lambert, Edwards and Astbury up for selection this week..

      5

      1
  5. Should I miss Logue and Hind and go Naish as it allows me to get Sloane in this week for Oskar Baker.

  6. thinking double downgrade this week.

    going to go,
    Duursma > Logue

but not sure who to trade Answerth to..

    TU – Naish
    TD – Hind

    can do either through DPP.

    1. It doesn’t look like the masses agree with me but I really think Hind has more JS coz of the two teams current status. Rich need to play their best team every week to ensure they play finals whereas Saints are cooked and Hind will hold his spot for quite a while, if not the rest of the year barring injury. Naish is still a kid who hasn’t been as good as his scores indicate yet Hind is mature age and has the physique to match. Don’t expect anymore than 40-70 every week but he was their best player yesterday in a shocking performance.

  7. Def: Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Sicily, B.Smith, Logue (Burgess, Gardener)

    Mid: Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, macrae, Z.Merret, C.Oliver, M.Crouch, D.clarke (O.Baker, Bewley, B.Scott)

    Rucks: Gawn, Grundy (Clarke)

Fwds: Dunkley, Dangerfield, Boak, T.Kelly, J.Cameron, I Heeney (Setterfield, R.Young)

I am really struggling with cash generation

First trade was Duursma > G.Logue, which leaves me with 245k to spend

    What should I do next?
Do another downgrade to get in a hind or naish for more bench cover with so many spuds sitting on my bench or try something else?

    1. Hey Timmy, put Clarke as your emergency, if he goes well, then put Scott on ground as your loophole. No more trades needed this week. If Clarke spuds it up, then think about your second trade. Hope this helps

  8. Trades this week –
    Hayes to Hind = definite
Duursma out is also definite but who to bring in??
Downgrade to Logue or upgrade to final defender?
Current backline is Lloyd, Whitfield, Ryan, Crisp, Hore and Smith.
Would be able to bring in anyone under $537k.
My team would then have Hore at D7, Begley at F7 and Bewley/Clarke at M9 and 8 trades left for the run home after using 2 this week.
If I downgrade to Logue I could then upgrade Hore (or Smith) next week and have any defender and approx $200k in the bank but obviously one less trade.
    Thoughts team?
    T/U – upgrade
    T/D – downgrade

  9. i have 4 upgrades to make, 7 trades left, 533,000 in the bank
2 midfield and two defensive upgrades
do i make trade liam stocker to a premo mid like luke parker or do i wait till next week to make sure i dont have injuries?

    5

    1
  10. Answerth->logue
    Hore-> Marshall (via burgess dpp)

Marshall is versing Richmond and every ruck goes huge against them so I reckon he is good to bring in

    13

  11. No love for Hately?

I was going to do two trades

    1st wilke to logue

    and the second either:
TU franklin to hately play him at M8 and bank $200k cash for the ride home.
TD franklin and the cash to a 570ish premo.

    1

    20
  12. Should i hold Duurma?

TD: YES HOLD HE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY
TU: NO TRADE HIM OUT AND GET WHITFIELD OR ANYONE ELSE

    4

    38
    1. They have the next 3 games at home…. I vote hold. The 4th game is against richmond a notorious low scoring supercoach team.

      1

      5
  13. With only 69,200 left in the bank and no one really ready to downgrade, I am stuck with a choice between trading Hore or Walsh. Trading Hore, would bring in Rich and trading Walsh bring in MCrouch. Rich leaves me with 13k leftover, Crouch 24k. However I have no cover in my backline, but Clarke and Bewley in the mid.

Who is better to offload and bring in.
    TU Walsh > MCrouch
    TD Hore > Rich

  14. Need some advice on how I should approach with these final trades. First off, here’s my team:

DEF: Lloyd, Hurn, Houli, Ryan, Sicily & Hore [Burgess, Hinge]

MID: J. Kelly, Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Cunnington, Neale, Oliver & Sloane [D. Clarke, Bewley, loophole]

    RUC: Gawn & Grundy [loophole]

FWD: Dunkley, Danger, Boak, Heeney, Darling & Setterfield [Corbett, Gardner]

    8 trades and 27k left.

Don’t how I should proceed. Only have the 1 rookie on field, Setterfield at F6, gotta do something with him. Darling is an obvious problem and was considering trading him this week or the next, but can I afford to be luxury trading? Also going to bring Logue in this week for sure, has Hore’s time now come after his dismal score this weekend? Would like to have Whitfield back by the end of the year.

As you can tell, I’ve got hundreds of concerns, theories and ideas whirling around. Need some SCT wisdom. So, who wants to take a deep dive into my team?

    Cheers!

    1. Trade 1 – Hore to Logue as he is the only rookie worth trading to get enough money to upgrade and hopefully Logue can score similar to Hore anyway.
Trade 2 – Setterfield up to a <550k premo (Daniel or Marshall) otherwise you could trade Corbett to a <500k premo (R.Gray, Hawkins or Cameron) if you wanna keep Setters for decent coverage?
Then let all other rookies rise in price then upgrade D6 to whitfield when he returns and drops to his lowered price?

      9

      1. Hey, Andy. Ty for the response.

Yeah, Logue could be alright at D6. Still leaves the Darling issue and in order to rustle up the funds for Whitfield I’ll need to downgrade 2 – 3 rookies- making trades an issue. Hmm.

        3

        0
        1. GD i reckon Andy has nailed it to solve the setterfield dilemma. Only catch is you have limited rookie cash increases as most of them wont go up much if at all except hopefully logue and clarke. If those two can keep it up then bring whitfield back in will be all the easier in about 3-4 weeks. In that time you can reassess how your trades are looking and if injuries are going to get in the way. Darling might need to stay for now (assuming hes playing)

          2

            1. Not 100% confident based on track record, but id be confident that hes better rhen having setters currently at f6

              1. Good point.

I can deal with Darling and bring in Whitfield later on then. Although, if Hately is named this week then I have to bring him in purely for the cash generation.

                Ty, Andy and hammer.

                1

                0
                1. I could go Hore -> Logue and Darling -> Daniel this week, then go Bewley -> downgrade and Setterfield -> T. Kelly the following week.

Would have 4 trades left and full premo except Logue at D6, would rustle up the cash for Whitfield once Logue and D. Clarke max out.

Plans would be set back if Hately is named, but otherwise: sound good?

                  2

                  1. No problem GD, last week I went Duursma to Logue and wanted to go Hore to Hurn this week.. Reckon I still should?

                    3

                    0
                    1. Sage move with Logue btw, Andy. Must’ve been nice to the that ton included in your 18.

Assuming Hore is D5 for you, now seems like the time to move him on. Would have been nice if we could have gotten some more cash out of him, but his BE is now pretty much his ceiling.

Even though Hurn’s BE is 161 and he’ll lose anywhere between 10 – 25k, Hore might also have another dud game and bleed even more cash in a range similar to Hurn.

The move to make with Hore would be down to Logue, but you already have him. With that the case, think it’s solid to go Hore -> Hurn- rather than waiting and trying to predict scores.

Also, how far off are you from full premo?

                      1

                      0
                  2. Thanks GD, and when I trade Hore to Hurn, i’ll have 7 trades left and full premo except Logue at D6, just gotta play the waiting game with Whitfield now hahah, good luck with the rest of your season!

  15. Alright needing some advice.
Ranked top 30 and dont have Kelly
Can get him by moving setters to any line via dpp tobargain rookie 102k and then stack to kelly, will leave me with no cash and 7 trades.
    T/U do it
T/D not worth leaving nothing on the table at this stage, get sloane for stack instead

    1. If it’s your last upgrade, yes. Otherwise go Sloane and keep the 140k for other trades.

      12

      1. Sure!
Def Ryan, Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Sicily, Hore (logue, gardner)
Mid *Kelly, fyfe, mcrae, bont, cripps, neale, oliver, crouch (bewley, clarke, answerth)
        Ruck gawn, grundy, bines
Fwd dunkley, danger, boak, kelly, heeney, worpel (*rookie, young)

Note:this will be after this weeks trades re kelly. I also traded hurn before the byes, so will need to bring him back for hore. Worpel will be a trade later in the year pending injuries. I had to make a few sacrifices and jump early on rookies such as young, gardner and clarke to keep in contention during bye rounds, some paid off and some were spuds (looking at you young and gardner)

    1. The crowd has gone for Rotham but you could toss a coin. Neither of them get a game unless there is injuries. Bailey should be back in this week for Brisbane which pushes Hinge further down the queue.

Def: Lloyd, hurn, ryan, williams, stewart, logue EM: gardiner / watson

    Ruck: Gawn, grundy EM: O’Brian
Fwd: Danger, boak, kelly, daniel, marshall, heeney EM: Parker, bines

    Plan:
Next week trade O’brian for $400k profit

    Thinking about upgrading Matt Crouch this week to;

T/U Trade in Josh Kelly (although plays Dons with Clarke likely tag)

    T/D Trade in Yeo

    Future trades:
Baker to then either kelly or Yeo
    Heeney to Dunkley or Walters
    Logue to Whitfield / Houli

    1. Not an expert by any means but possibly go:
Clark to Logue to free up some funds then DPP swap Kelly to worpel and upgrade Worpel to a midfielder premo of your choice. Yeo, J Kelly, Neale, Bont Duncan Merret etc

Feel like this would be making you some money and leaves you with not that many upgrades left with only Hore, Duursma and O’brien. You can wait for future upgrades for hore and Duursma for whitfield, Hurn, Z Williams, Rampe, Ryan etc whoever takes your fancy and as for your forward option that could be anyone.

      Hope this helps!

  19. I’m stuck with a bunch of crap rookies in the forward line and Bines until I can offload ROB. If Corbett doesn’t get named and I have to go early on him I won’t have enough for Boak. So: Best forward for $530k

  20. Defense:
Lloyd, Laird, Sicily, Hore, Smith Rozee (Answerth, Naish)

Midfield: Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Neale, Kelly, Sloane, O’meara, Duursma ( Setterfield, Clarke, Hately)

    Ruck: Grundy, Lobb (Fort)

FWD: Dangerfield, Daniel, Ziebell, Lipinski, Moore, Parker (Burgess, Gardner)

    9 Trades

    Had some thoughts:
    Trade out Moore, Lobb
    Trade in: Logue and Gawn

    or

    Trade out: Parker, Lobb
    In: Logue, Natinau

    or out: moore , parker,
    In:Logue, Stein

Look just not sure and would love any feedback really enjoying my first year and this place is a great help!

Personally am leaning towards the first option but am open to your guys opinion obviously!

  21. First trade is Duursma to Sloane. To fund it, I think I have two options:

TU Answerth to Naish at D7, with Milera at D6 and no cash
TD Milera to Logue at D6, with Answerth at D7 and $124k in the bank

  22. Hi all, 9 trades left and 23k in the bank

Lloyd, Hurn, Ryan, Williams, Smith, Milera (Hore, Duursma)
Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Neale, Merrett, B Crouch, M Crouch, Walsh (Ross, Clarke, Bewley)
    Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Dangerfield, Kelly, Boak, Daniel, Gray, Moore (Corbett, Young)

Thinking maybe Milera to Logue and Walsh to Kelly to complete midfield

    Any recommendations appreciated

    1. You have far too much cash on the bench in defence. Would definitely go milera or duursma. Then upgrade walsh

  23. Looking for advice of these options

TU: Hore & Scott out – Logue & Dunkley In
That completes my Mids and gives me swing option to Fwd to cover injury
Duursma out next week and Hurn in + downgrade.
    Logue D6 – 6 trades left

TD: Hore & Scott out – Logue & Sloane
    Mids complete.
O Baker & Setterfield our next week, Hurn and mid/fwd loophole in via Gardner
Leaves me with Duursma/Logue at D6/D7
    6 trades left

  24. Is David Mundy a legit option for F6? Bottomed out at 440k, after a horrendous last 3 weeks follwoing an otherwise strong season. Am I mad for looking at him?

    D/D You’re mad!!

  25. Tu make two downgrades
    Dursma to Naish

    Answerth to Sloane

  27. Final Mid spot to complete my team.

  28. Buddy and duursma out hind and Josh Kelly in.
    Leaves me 4 trades

Llyod, laird, Ryan, Sicily, Williams, crisp, answerth, Gardner
Kelly, fyfe, neale, cripps, yeo, merret, m.crouch, macrae, Clarke, hind, baker
    Gawn, Grundy, fort
Danger, dunks, Kelly, boak, gray, Cameron, bines, young

Lack off dpp links could be an issue trying to cover outs. Traded in fort last week, figured could make some coin there. Will need to use it and swing bines back to r3 eventually. Not comfortable without forward bench cover.
Jumped about 2500 spots over the bye rounds to sit at 731st

    Complete team 🙂

    1. Could you tell me how many original/starting players you have?

I’m trying to put my finger on do people in the top 1000:
      Start with a better team
      Trade better
      or both.

I have 5 trades left and am ~14,000.

You’re d6 and f6 are waaay better than mine hore and darling

      1. I started with Williams in D
Had Whitfield and Moore with rookies to begin with.
Started with macrae, cripps, crouch- brought in neale for dusty in rd 3 in M
Had cogs to begin with too but traded when he was injured to merrett
        Started gawn and Grundy
Started danger, Kelly, dunks and had darling. Traded darling on his bye week

This is my first week in the top 1000, was 36,000 in rd 2 and have been moving up ever since. Had a big round 7 which jumped me from 17000 to 5000 and kept grinding up since.

        1. Thanks,
          that’s pretty impressive.

I think we have roughly the same amount of starters.

I have 8 starters but if I’d kept Z Williams that would have been 9. Pretty much you out traded my by a lot 😛

          1. Jumped on pretty much all the good rookies, stack, baker(tigers), ROB, traded out deadwood as early as I could too. Dumped Collins and drew early which helped. Still a good 900 points from 1st though. Pretty much not having llyod and hurn, and riding darling hurt my side early.
Unless there is a nice early fixture and underpriced, will never be starting a KPF again in SuperCoach. Also didn’t start any midpricers players besides Moore.
B.smith, libba and sheed probably would of been smart to start and would of helped from an overall pov early perhaps.
            Still 9 rounds to go

            1. We had a crazy similar team.

              I think we both had:
              Defense
              Whitfield, Williams
you had Moore I had B. Smith
              both had collins

              mids
both had macrae, cripps, crouch, dusty
you had cogs I had sloane

I started Tom Lynch at the last minute over Darling.

Pretty much have the same thoughts, no Lloyd or Hurn hurt and KPP aren’t worth it.

One of the mods/admin guys posted a team over the byes, which if you started, you’d still have 30 trades and be in front over all.
I’m going with a structure similar to that time next year.

(Props to whoever worked this out, it was either Schwarzwalder or allsaints)
              DEF:
              Lloyd Hurn Ryan

              MID:

  30. Trade dilemma for this week, would love some help here:

T/U: Hinge>Logue & Butters>Hannebery (I know early on hanners but could be a successful gamble and i’ve got FOMO on not getting logue in)

T/D: Butters>Hind & Answerth>Any Premo up 580k (Would love suggestions on who to snag if this is the right option)

  31. Thoughts on Garners JS?

Def is Lloyd, Hurn, Ryan, Williams, Stewart, Hore (Answerth, Naish).

Looking at Answerth into Garner or Logue. Consensus seems to be Logue the better option, but the extra cash would be handy. Happy to leave Hore at D6 for now. Using the cash to move Baker into premo to finish mids or Setters into premo to finish forwards.

    Thoughts?

    TU: Garner + 40k
    TD: Logue

  33. Have about 43k in the bank…
Mids are currently Neale, Cripps, Cogs, Fyfe, Zerrett, Macrae, Clarry and Duursma (Clarke, Bewley, Scott).

Do I trade Duursma and Bailey Scott for Matt Crouch and Nick Hind to complete the Mids which leaves me with exactly $0 or leave it and just loophole Clarke or Duursma week by week??

  36. Hi guys,
I’ve got a couple of duds on my bench in Stocker & Burgess – should I:

T/U : Trade Burgess to J Cameron (West Coast)
    T/D: Trade Stocker to Hind

Only thing that worries me is J Cameron’s JS at West Coast!

This will help me to do a final upgrade for Stack and get to a full premo team – will have 3 trades left after this.
    Thanks!!

  45. Can someone give me a percentage of how much time Luke Parker spends in the midfield?

Sounds like a dumb question, but at such a high price I want to make sure JPK wont effect his output. Also noticed he has been named on the team sheet in the past on the frw pocket in the past … im probably over thinking it.
    Feedback appreciated.

  46. 2nd year SC’er. Learnt a lot of hard lessons last year and ranked 50k overall. Been hovering around the 2k rank for weeks this year and burning through trades to stay up front. Learnt more hard lessons in round 13 and dropped to 7k overall. Now only interested in winning cash leagues and need advice on trades given the minimum amount I have left! Team with 7 trades left and $203 itb:

Lloyd, Hurn, Houli, Williams, Stewart, Hore (Answerth, Naish)
J.Kelly, Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Neale, Oliver, D.Clarke (O.Baker, Bewley, Scott)
    Gawn, Grundy (Sweet)
Dunkley, Danger, T.Kelly, Cameron, Heeney, L.Baker (Young, Gardner)

Baker to Boak looks good to me this week to complete the fwd line, but no coverage there scares me and no cash in the bank. Or have I cooked it with trades left and should sit on my hands for a few weeks? A bit lost…

    1

    0
    1. Hey, GU.

Why so doom and gloom lol?

7k rank is nothing to scoff at. Bloody good effort and you’ve got all the must haves in each line- don’t worry, you can easily make up ground with the right moves. Also, you only listed 7 on-field MIDs so I searched up your team and noticed you missed listing Merrett.

Now, I’d recommend the follow moves:

      Hore -> Logue
      Baker -> Boak

Those trades will leave you with 272k in the bank and 5 trades. Two more price rises from Clarke should see him get to 270k~, add your 272k and you can finish your midfield with any MID at 540k~. If you are really set on another MID over 540k~ just wait a week for another price rise from Clarke.

After that you’ll be full premo with Logue at D6 and with 4 trades left, which is a really competitive place to be. From there you can wait till Logue maxes out, then downgrade whichever of Baker, Naish, Answerth or Bewley and go Logue -> Whitfield; leaving you full premo with 2 trades left and poised to finish with a respectable rank.

      1. I like GD’s suggestion, but I’ll toss in an alternative just to create some confusion/discussion.

Hold Hore. He’s a solid D6 if injuries hit and you aren’t able to get the last defensive upgrade in.

Oscar Baker is a slow burn for another $30k from here, so I’d be tempted to toss him for Logue now. It’s only +$60k, but it gives you good bench cover in the backline and you get to swing Answerth onto the midfield bench.

Liam Baker to Boak is going to set you back $190k. Robbie Gray, on the other hand, only $110k.

Leaves you with $150k in the bank, and one midfield upgrade left to do. After 2-3 more price rises, Naish should get to $250k. If he doesn’t Bewley should. Downgrading either gets your bank up to around $280k, which upgrades Clarke to the $550k midfielder of your choice. Naish can be downgraded to a forward rookie via Gardner as well, if you’re worried about the cover down there.

Lloyd, Hurn, Houli, Williams, Stewart, Hore (Logue, Gardner)
J.Kelly, Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Neale, Oliver, Merrett, **PREMO** (Answerth, Bewley, Scott)
        Gawn, Grundy (Sweet)
Dunkley, Danger, T.Kelly, Cameron, Heeney, Gray (**ROOKIE**, Young)

You’re left with three trades instead of four, but I think the bench cover options are stronger.

        3

        0
        1. Thanks BlueBalls – I was pretty keen on GD’s suggestion but bench cover is a big concern with only 2 trades left after reaching full premo. Will definitely consider!

          1

          0
  47. TU – Double downgrade Hore>Logue; Baker>Hind
    TD – 1 up 1 down Hore>Logue; Baker>Sloane

The latter would leave me with a completed mid/fwd/ruck and Logue at D6; the former would see me playing one of Bewley or Clarke on field for at least a week but give me more cash generation on the bench for little spotfire upgrades here and there (B. Smith, Heeney et al.)

Thoughts? Do I really need to get Hind or is Logue the priority? Thank you

  48. DEF – Laird, Sicily, Lloyd, Williams, Andrews, Hore (Naish, Burgess)
MID – Macrae, Neale, Cripps, Oliver, Coniglio, M Crouch, Fyfe, Danger (Clarke, Hately, Baker)
    RUC – Gawn, Grundy (Schlensog)
FWD – Kelly, Dunkley, Heeney, Cameron, Gray, Marshall (Young, Balta)

Thinking Balta -> Logue is a no brainer.

    Tossing up second trade

    Comment Baker -> Hind

  49. Ok so i need to make a downgrade in order to fund Duursma to Sloane

TU: O Baker to Hind (will be full premo including Sicily with 6 trades left)

TD: Sicily to Logue. Then when Logue reaches $300k+ trade him to Hurn/Whitfield (will be full premo with 5 trades left)

    13

    0
    1. I’d be bringing in Logue this week for sure, but not at the expense of Sicily. While it would fund Duursma -> Sloane, you’re essentially sideways trading by moving a premo from the back to the middle.

Obviously these last two weeks with him up forward have been excruciating but SURELY he’ll be down back vs the Eagles, whose whole formula to winning games rests on marking. Admittedly that’s informed speculation, but you’d think Clarko has realized that the Sicily experiment was a bust?

  50. Almost a full strength team – 4 trades left:

    T/U : Trade Worpel
    T/D : Trade Stack

    Appreciate your thoughts.

    0

    14
    1. 9 weeks left – how close to full strength is that team, Vin?

If it’s a single trade using cash in the bank, I reckon Stack can make may. If you’ve got multiple trades you want to do, you’re gonna need to be reeeeaaal sure about pulling any triggers, otherwise you’ll be stuck with injured players at some point.

  51. Is getting Kelly with a BE of 151 and potential for the Clarke tag a good risk?

TU Yes hes a must have even with the risk.
TD No wait a week and see if the tag effects him

    4

    9
    1. Lol, typed out a fat analysis on T. Kelly only realizing towards the end that you’re talking about J. Kelly.

Taggers v GWS have usually gone to Coniglio because he cannot handle it at all, but form suggests Clarke should go to Kelly.

That said, Clarke didn’t take a scalp against West Coast. Sheed 36 , Gaff 31, Redden 30, Shuey 26 and Yeo 25 (disposals). He started on Shuey, who was too quick, and Gaff should shook him off on the wing. Failure to effectively tag may mean a role change for Clarke, might be played more forward of the ball with Stringer out.

      J. Kelly is such an elite, smooth ball user and has a solid record v Dons that I don’t see him getting tagged into irrelevance. Perhaps a 100 – 120 from him this week.

Likely misses the 151 but is a must have, Tommy.

      3

      0
      1. Thanks GBD. Will likely get him in this week then. Opponent (playing for cash league) this week is ranked 1 and has him so will not risk him getting the wood on me.

        1. Np, you’ll be addressing a competitive disadvantage v your league opponent and getting the #1 averaging midfielder IN. Pull the trigger.

          1. The one issue I have is Westhoff as F6 and no cover fwd (burgess and Young) so may be forced into getting Daniel this week and wait a week on Kelly.

Hopefully Hoff gets a reprieve from Howard getting suspended for my sake!

  53. Have 12 trades left.

    thinking of going….
    – Answerth > Logue
    – Scott > Hind

won’t generate much cash for this week back gets rid of Scott for a playing rookie with pretty good JS. more setting up for the future. Still leaves me with Young, Gardener and Burgess all on the bench and not playing. trying to create as much bench cover as I can.

Leaves me with 1o trades and $250,ooo for next week.

    TU – Good idea
TD – waste of trades, focus on getting full premo.

    9

    1
    1. How many rookies still to upgrade on field?

Having a non-playing rookie on each bench line isn’t the worst outcome – it may allow you to loophole your rookies if they score particularly well, and gives you some added flexibility for captaincy loopholing depending on the fixture.

The risk is that with those three, plus Hind and Logue still weeks away from topping out, if you need a fair chunk of cash to finish your upgrading you may fall a little behind the pack. Gonna assume you’ve got a non-playing R3 as well? If so, you’ve only got 2 other bench spots that might be generating cash at this stage.

Only 1-2 rookies left to upgrade – I think your trades this week are fine and set you up for those upgrades in the following fortnight. If you’ve got 3+, you may be better off passing on Hind and trying to improve your on-field stocks ASAP.

  54. Hey guys need some trade help…

With my first trade I got rid of D. Moore for Logue
    With my second should I:
TU: Balta to Boak (next week Clarke to Neale)
TD: Stack to Hind (next week Clarke&Hind to Kelly&Neale)

    Thanks!

    1. Certainly wouldn’t be using a trade to bring in Hind if you’re just going to trade him out again next week.

      2

  55. I went early on Logue last week in order to get the premo I wanted.
Now I’m thinking of getting in J. Cameron (along with J Kelly) this week if named for B. Smith and Answerth.
Am I mad or is it worth the punt knowing I probably won’t trade him again but could potentially be needed as an E.

TU Do it he’s super cheap and a great shot to hold his play even when Rioli returns
TD Don’t even think about it. One way ticket to disaster!

    1

    3
    1. Team then becomes

Lloyd Laird Williams Hore Duursma Logue (Burgess Gardner)
J Kelly Fyfe Macrae Cripps Congnilio Neale Crouch Clarke (Hately, O Baker, Bewley)
      Grundy Gawn (Bines)
Danger, Kelly, Dunkley, Marshall, Boak, Westhoff (R. Young, Cameron)

Target Hurn and Whitfield after they fall. Will leave 11 trades and 200k to do so.
Starting round with 337k and 13 trades.

      0

      0
    2. Kelley has a BE of 151, and Cameron has only played a single game. I’m not a huge fan of bringing in either this week.

That being said…Smith is about to lose money (slim chance he goes big though…) and Answerth has topped out for the foreseeable future.

Wait a week on Cameron, for sure, want him to play a second game, and then get named for a third. At least then if he gets dropped later he’s had a price rise and can be cashed in for $50k if you desperately need the funds to swap out a premo who cops an LTI in-game, dishes up a 20pt score and drops in price.

I’m assuming your team pre-trades is:

Lloyd Laird Williams Smith Hore Logue (Answerth, Burgess)
Fyfe Macrae Cripps Congnilio Neale Crouch Duursma Clarke (Hately, O Baker, Bewley)
      Grundy Gawn (Bines)
Danger, Kelly, Dunkley, Marshall, Boak, Westhoff (R. Young, Gardner)

That team with 13 trades left is SOLID. Hurn will be ready to bring in either next week or the one after, for something in the $530-$550k range.

I’d maybe look at Duursma to a non-Kelly midfielder this week (Bont, Merrett, Sloane, Yeo, Gaff, Treloar, Oliver all good options). Uses $150-200k of your bank. 12 trades left.
Baker to Cameron and Answerth to Hurn next week. Opens up M/F DPP. Uses most of the rest of your bank. 10 trades left.

Then you’ve just got Clarke to Kelly when their price differential lines up. Challenge will be finding the funds. Clarke to Kelly is going to cost you $300k, so you may need to do two other downgrades to generate the cash. 7 trades left.

Then wait and see on Whitfield – if you’ve got a bench option who makes money, you should be able to do a one up/one down to make a luxury upgrade of Hore/Smith to Whitfield.

  56. Thoughts on Luke Parker (Sydney) would be a reasonable POD, notice not mentioned much here but in the top 10 scorers so far this year

    4

    3
  57. Didn’t get Kelly J in to make my full team but want to do it this week instead of Atkins. I know his BE is high and he might drop 20-30k but I want to win my money league game and who knows when he is going to have a blinder.
Thumbs up – Get him in he’s a gun!!!
Thumbs down – Keep Atkins for another week

    8

    4
  58. Currently have Hore at D6. 11 trades remaining. I’m pinning my trades in the hope that Logue will score on or with Hore for the next 3-4 rounds.

    This week:
Hore into Logue (decent cash gen)
    Setters into premo fwd

    Next week:
    Baker (M8) into premo mid

Currently have a couple of decent downgrades on the bench. Answerth, Clarke, Bewley. Will then move Logue into premo D6 once I’ve got enough value.

    TU: Decent plan
TD: Rethink and keep Hore at D6

    5

    3
  59. Thoughts on Luke Parker? Has been scoring unreal as of late.
Is he the real deal? Price is not a concern at all, can afford comfortably.

    Tu- Yes

    Td- No

    7

    5
  60. Is Neale still an option for last mid-spot? Teams seem to have started tagging him. 5RA of 105 compared to Kelly’s 125. Kelly could averaged 10-20 more per game from here but is always an injury risk.

Other mids are Cripps, Macrae, Oliver, Zerrett, Fyfe, Crouch and Sloane. Not keen on Yeo or Bont – been burnt before.

    TU: Neale’s a bargain at 550k
TD: Sell the farm for Kelly at 650k

    15

    2
  61. Tim Mcdonald: Dirt cheap @ $345k. Lost $184k already. Surely bottomed out?Smashed out a 135 sc points last week and BE of 24 now. Averaged 97.6 only last season. F6/F7

T/U Yes: big risk but big reward!
T/D No: you are crazy CDawg. Get some sleep.

  62. So I’ve had a bit of a shocker year wasting trades and money. Looking at two options this week. Only have 5 trades left right now and $92,300. Forward line is set but need another premium mid and defender with Hore the current D6

TU: Duursma and Answerth out for Bontempelli and Hind
gets me the full premium midfield with a question mark over whether I’ll be able to get a full premium backline

TD: Answerth and Hore out for Logue and Hind
gets me the coin to guarantee the full premo lineup

  63. In a bit of a pickle, cash gen has been poor so taken a risk on a few bargain players.

Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Sicily, Hore, Smith (Duursma, Answerth)
Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Neale, Merrett, Oliver, MCrouch, Setterfield (Clarke, Bewley, Scott)
    Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Dangerfield, TKelly, RGray, Heeney, Greene, Franklin (Corbett, Young)
    12 trades, $142,400 bank.

    1. IMO, Logue in for either Hore(high BE now) Smith (being tagged but has good draw in 2 weeks time) or Duursma.., your decision/assessment/dilemma 🙂

Yes Buddy hasnt worked. Cash gen above plus Franklin out would give $730k to decide which forward to bring in VS how much you want to keep in the bank. (ie Daniel/Marshall $530k would leave $200k itb… or mid price Heeney/Worpel leaves $280k)

Also swing Setters to FWDs for bench cover, via Corbett to DEF bench and Answerth to MID bench

      1

      0
      1. I like your thinking, which def to trade is definitely the dilemma and sadly Corbett not a DPP. Was weighing up trading Answerth, but you’re right trading one of Smith/Hore/Duursma frees up much more cash. Appreciate the opinion, cheers.

        1. Could double downgrade this week, to look to upgrades next week?
          Duursma, Buddy > Logue, Hind
Leaves $624k in bank to upgrade next week, but means fielding Setters in fwd line and one of Bewley/Hind/Clarke in Mid?

  65. So what do you think im planning to go for Mitch Duncan his stats are good to get my second last spot for mid but my second option is Neale but I’m worried that he won’t break the taggers that he plays with. Both are great players with good stats.

  67. My backline right now is Lloyd, Williams, Laird, Sicily, Hore, Logue (Answerth, Gardner), 13 trades and $1.5k in the bank , which trades to do out of these two:

T/up – Duursma to Hind, Schultz to Naish via Gardner. Leaves me with $288k and 11 trades. Next week I can go Hore to Hurn and Stack to someone like Sloane or Duncan

T/down – Duursma to Naish via Answerth, Hore to Luke Ryan. Leaves me with 11 trades and $171k

      1. Sloane, here’s why:

        1) Teams are starting to discover how effective the tag is on Neale, definitely going to cop it a few more times from here on out.

        2) Zerret’s form isn’t great. Thought he’d pop off v West Coast last week with Hutchings going to Saad. Yeah, 30 touches but he used it poorly and favors handballs to kicks by about 60:40 last few weeks.

        3) The case for Sloane is pretty compelling: he has re-discovered his form, the Crows are moving along nicely, he favors kicks to handballs (eg. 18:10 v Tigers) and he’s getting great supply from ROB. Add to that, this is Adelaide’s run home: Cats, Port, Suns, Dons, Blues, Saints, Eagles, Pies and Dogs. Only the 1 guaranteed tag v Eagles, potentially from Dons and Port but he’s shown a newly found ability to fight it off.

          1. Unfortunately not, Macca. Take it you’ve got him? You keep banging on about him, and rightly so- he’s looking phenomenal.

            1. nah mate – he’s my dilemma … not sure why he’s not being mentioned much … $70K more than Sloane and last weeks match with him getting his high BE didn’t help … but I cant decide between him or Sloane … last mid …

not sure how this cricket match is going to go tonight … bloody Aussies made a mess of losing too many wickets again …ROOT OUT!!! Yes! Now they just need Morgan … ! They seriously need to bat Smith at three and I would bat Carey at 5 … he is so solid … plays that Michael Bevan type role … better for stability than Maxwell and Stoinis …

              1. Probably the price tag is why he isn’t talked about much, Macca.

If you’re close to full premo then go ahead and grab Yeo. High ceiling, no risk of being tagged and a POD (7k of teams).

        1. I ask, as here’s Yeo’s run home:
Hawks, Dockers, Pies, Demons, Roos, Blues, Crows, Tigers and Hawks again in rnd 23

He’s at home last game as opposed to Sloane away and V Dogs … reckon Yeo goes better than Sloane … especially in the SC final?? Thoughts??

    1. No problem waiting a week, think Harmes goes to him this week and you’ll be able to get him a touch cheaper.

      1. Thanks Gunboat for advice I
Just have to decide If Hind is
going to be worth having I think
        his job security should be
        Pretty good.

    2. Maybe look at Hannebury next week (eventual M9) and get Neale for a pack of Doritos in a few weeks… yes I’m hurting. Bleeding actually. Got him 4 weeks ago when he got his first 79 as my captain. Grrr.

    1. I was tempted, Samazz. He’ll crush English this week and has Richmond two weeks after that; big scores in both outings for sure.

However, Ryder and Westhoff will eventually work there way back into this side, as early as next week perhaps, and I still think guys like T. Kelly, Dunkley, Boak, Daniel & Danger will outscore him overall.

Great if you have him, but I wouldn’t be bringing him in past F6.

Not to mention that I don’t trust anyone moves clubs after winning a flag- who does that!?

  69. 323k to spend, one to full team although would still love to get in J. Kelly

TU Hore to Ryan – giving me Lloyd, Hurn, Ryan, Laird, Williams, Andrews with Logue at D7, Rotham (face palm) D8
Atkins to Sloane – giving me Fyfe, McCrae, Coniglio, Oliver, Sloane, Crouch and Walsh (Bewley, Hind, Scott)

TD Atkins to J.Kelly leaving me 12k

My thinking here is probably TU for a better balanced team. Bewley or Logue give me the cash to go Walsh to Kelly down the track.

FWDs are not who I would like (Dunkley and Boak missing) but have Danger, Kelly, Billings, Gray, Worpel, Heeney. (No bench cover – Young (double face palm), Bines

    Rucks Gawn/Grundy (Fort)

Only 6 trades left 4 if I make both this weekend (gulp). Will continue to bite my nails and watch my players carefully, wincing when they get tackled.

    Comments appreciated as always.

  70. Hey guys…
10 trades and 659k in the bank. Traded Duursma to Logue last week and probably go Answerth to Naish this week if named. With all other rookies still with low BEs is it worth trading O.Baker for Sloane this week or wait 2 weeks and get maybe Cunnington?

    TU Sloane
    TD Cunnington
