  1. Need help choosing my final defence premo. I was going to make the trade last round but couldnt risk using an extra trade after moving on Kelly. Unfortunately both my options popped off while I copped a donut with Day being managed. They’re both basically identical in price and average.
    T/U: Ridley
    T/D: Haynes
Who benefits more from their draw? Ridley, who will have the ball in the defence a lot more often, although is likely to be in a losing team a lot?
Or Haynes, who wont see the ball as much but will more often than not be in a winning side with more SC points?

      1. yeah, if playing Leagues and you need the win, then probably Grundy … but then again, assess your other players on field … if you think 18 of them score around 100 , maybe Goldie is the better choice to drop … he’s not getting good scores by CD and lets face it, Norths are terrible.

Grundy is also not playing / scoring as well this year. You have to then think of making the GF … and who is the better second ruck to have … R17 – Goldie against Freo and Grundy against Wicks and Suns … who would you rather have in that match up??

    1. Botswana. In the last 3 games, they both averaged around 105. I would think that Nic Nat will get more tap to advantage but have more chance being rested, Grundy on the other hand playing in a depleted pies team likely to lose few more games.
I will personally go strategic. Grundy has more Ownership (68% vs 23%) so If he goes big and you dont have him , it will hurt you.

      1. NicNat might get rested but Grundy has his bye this week, so he will for sure miss one more game for the year.

  2. 4 trades left, Rankine my last rookie upgrade and almost nothing in the bank $2.9k. I have Shuey and think he needs to be turned into a gun.

T/U – Shuey and Close to Steele and $100k rookie. 2 trades left to upgrade Rankine.
T/D – Shuey, Nic Nat and Close to Gawn, mid under $530k, and $100k rookie, roll with Rankine at F6, one trade left in case of emergency.

Should I look at value, instead of Steele, to free up some more cash? Is it more important to get Gawn than upgrade Rankine?

  3. Anybody have news about A.Witherden? I know he was omitted this week just gone but is he likely to return this week or will he likely be out for the year?

  4. So I’m looking for a 102k loophole but am at a bit of a loss because the AFL haven’t released the round 18 fixture – are they waiting until after round 17 to do so?

    1. Yep – they’ll leave a game that’s still going to shape the finals til last. Maybe Saints v Giants will be the last game of the round? Could also be Port/Pies or Dees/Dons although one of those teams will probably be out of contention by then.

  5. Three trades left, playing for league. Elimination final this week.

Gawn and Grundy as my rucks (Draper R3) , with one rookie on field (Riccardi / Mosquito)

TU: Stick to the plan, get Gawn back in (who my opponent has)

    TD: Get full premo – F6 ~$430k

  6. All premium team except Draper at R2 and 5 trades left – Gawn’s next 3 looks very good for him so I’m thinking of getting him in this week

    Day – H.Brayshaw 102k (Via Rivers – Def bench Rivers/Sholl)
    Bell – Coleman
    Draper – Gawn

    TU – Good Trades
TD – Wait a week possibly with best 18 in play / think again

  7. Elimination final. 5 trades. 300,00 cash. Still have Rankine and Riccardi on field in Fwd line.

    Backline all premo but…

Was thinking of trading Zac Williams to Haynes for a boost in score.

    TU – Good trade
    TD – Sideways trade…waste

  10. Looking at Gawn Current rucks Nic Nat & Grundy 5 trades left playing for cash league win
Not enough cash will cost me 2 trades to get it done .

  11. Tough choice this week:

Tu- McGrath and close to Neale and Walters/Greene

Td- McGrath and close to a zerrett or m crouch and greenwood

Comment McGrath and Byrne Jones to laird and Neale- play close and then try and work close out of the team next week

    3

    11
      1. Yeah, third option. As a fellow long-suffering DBJ owner, I recommend doing anything you can to get him Out. Of. Your. Team.

He’s been so bad that I’m thinking of passing on Gawn this week just so I can finally get rid of Byrne-Jones instead

      1. He did hurt his ankle but came back on.

I actually havent heard how severe the ankle injury is and whether it would prevent him playing this week.

Perhaps I should be trading him out instead of Viney to be safe.

  12. Have one too many, who do i trade out
    TU: simpkin
    TD: B smith
    COMMENT: D smith

leaning towards simpkin due to his fixtures and inconsistency but my opponent this week has both B smith and simpkin so I can either neutralise those scores by trading D smith or hope that my upgrade of simp to a 550k+ premo works in my favour this week

  13. Ranked 3k (aiming for best possible finish) with 3 trades a full premo.

21 on field 19 premos this week

T/U – Nic Nat and Wicks to Gawn and Coleman
    T/D – Hold

    1

  14. Already in prelims, with 308K in the bank, 6 trades and 1 spot to fill (Riccardi @F6). Bringing Neale in next round when he loses another chunk of cash.

TU: 2 downgrades (Rivers & Wicks) this week, leaving 2 trades for each of the next rounds (1 down, 1 up)
TD: 3 downgrades this week (Rivers, Wicks, Draper), hopefully leading to Neale & a premo -> uber-premo upgrade next week. Goal of got to get to the dance before you can win.

  15. Hey Folks.

A few options to ponder this week. I have $151K and 3 trades left.

Bye players are Grundy, Dusty and Short.

    1st option

    T/U Trade Draper to JPK ( 2 trades left $26K )

    2nd option

T/D Downgrade Close to Coleman / upgrade Draper to Fyfe / Adams / Lyons. (1 trade left)

    Thanks.

    6

    2
    1. third option.

Hold Draper @R2 this week, wait for more cash growth from Wicks
/ Schoenberg and then trade aggressively for a M8 next round.

      1. Oh… also for more info..

        My Rucks are..

        Nic Nat / Grundy ( Draper )

        My Mids are..

        Neale / Macrae / Oliver / Titch / Cripps / Taranto / T Kelly/Schoe Wicks / Foot / Close.

        Forwards..

        Tracc /Whitt / Dusty / B smith/ D Smith / loop.. Rozee, Mozzie Comben.

        All suggestions welcome.

        Thanks.

        1. I reckon you’ve got a few hit or miss players in your mid’s with Kelly, Taranto and even Cripps. I like the idea of getting one of those “sure things” from your second option, but having the 2 trades to upgrade your F6 might be better unless Rozee can finish the year like he started it. What’s your plan if you have 2 trades left? Simpkin?

          1

          0
          1. Hey Emile.

Thanks for your comments. My Midfield is a little odd I know. I started Cripps. Taranto came in a month ago as a POD that hasn’t really worked yet ( Crows this week ). The other option that week was Zac Williams, so maybe Taranto wasn’t such a bad option after all.

T Kelly came in for J Kelly last week. With limited trades and no $$, I saw it as a chance to pocket $140K. In hindsight I should have gone JPK. I just liked Kelly’s ceiling and run home.
With Shuey now out for a few weeks maybe he can get some more inside ball.

I’m not really sold on Simpkin. I would rather maybe get in a cheap KPP with a huge ceiling to loop with Rozee.

I might go and have a look now.

            Thanks again.

        2. Seeing that you don’t have Gawn, he is a must have. JPK only scores average 90-100. Gawn against Freo, easy 140 points and have him as an option as captain.

Trade Close to Coleman for extra cash

Keep Draper, put emergency on him and wait if he scores well against Cats. If he doesn’t, trade Grundy for Gawn.

          1. Cheers Razza.

Seems like a good plan. I’m just not sure if I want to “sell the farm” for Gawn.

It would leave me looping rookies at M8/9 and F6/7.

I will look into it a bit more.

            Thanks for the advice.

            1. Gawn has Freo (Darcy), Giants (Mumford) and Bombers (Draper).
              Easy 135+ points

Grundy has Suns (Witts) and Port (Lycett)
              Will struggle against Witts.

    TD Out: Grundy Martin

  19. Im going for ranking. Current ranking is 83rd. 4 trades in hand, $117,800 bank
Players in capitals are having their byes or injured.

Def: Lloyd. Ridley, Haynes, May, Doc, Rivers ( MAYNARD, Bailey Williams)
Mids: Neale, Oliver, Mitchell, Cripps, Cogs, Merrett, Viney, SHUEY, (Wicks, Bennell, Schoenberg)
    Rucks: Naitanui, GRUNDY, (Draper)
Fwd: Petracca, Whitfield, Brayshaw, Walters, Daniher, Riccardi (MARTIN, Skinner)

    Ins: Gawn, Shiel (last five rounds 124, 118, 57, 117, 129) only $488,900.
    Outs: Grundy, Shuey,

Leaves me with 2 trades left and only $9K Bank

    TU: Do it asap
TD: Nah, better options out there than Shiel.

Please give me advice if i should make a third trade or better option than Shiel would be much appreciated 🙂

  20. Morning all, hope everyone’s going well, made no trades last week due to the number of teams with the bye, so ready to make some. Suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.

DEF: Lloyd, Haynes, Ridley, Stewart, Daniel, Doc (Rivers, Sholl)
MID: Bont, Neale, Oliver, ZMerrett, Mitchell, JKelly, Cripps, Wicks (Close, O’Halloran, Robertson(lions))
    RUC: Nic Nat, Grundy (Cameron)
FWD: Whitfield, Petracca, Brayshaw (Freo), Dusty, Bailey Smith, Riccardi (Foot, Skinner)
9 trades left, $131,400 in the bank.

    1. Hey, JJ.

      Could start by going:

      Nic Nat -> Gawn

He’s done his job but his TOG is just problematic in these condensed rounds and he finishes the season against RoMo/Ryder and Goldstein.

Then I’d cash in on Close and Cameron, which will leave you with a bank of 320k.

From there, use your 320k bank, cash in on Sholl and then upgrade Wicks and Riccardi.

      Goodluck.

      1

      0
        1. Means trade out, JJ. So “cashing in” on Close and Cameron would mean trading them out.

          To recap:

          Nic Nat -> Gawn

          Close -> Coleman

          Cameron -> 102k RUC

  22. TU: steele
    TD: lyons

lyons gives an extra 25k (73k overall) for my last emergency trade if I ever need it
    Steele leaves me with 48k
Worry with steele is can go big or could go sub ton, lyons may not go as big but gets a very good solid 120ish most likely

    Other: Zerret, Crouch

  23. Contemplating whether I want to bring in Neale this week or bring in Matt Crouch and the have the luxury trade option to move either Simpkin or Baz Smith to a Brayshaw.

I’ll have no trades left if I bring in Neale, currently rank ~1000 but playing for league and no care for ranking.

    Final team would be..

DEF: Lloyd, Stewart, Daniel, Salem, Docherty, Williams (Gould, Williams)
MID: Neale/Crouch, Macrae, Oliver, Steele, Cripps, Danger, Duncan, Kennedy (Robertson, Cockatoo, Schoenberg)
    RUC: Gawn, Goldy (Conroy)
FWD: Whitfield, Petracca, Dusty, Baz/Brayshaw, Simpkin/Brayshaw, Greenwood (Reid, Skinner)

T/U: Bring in Neale and finish the team but have no trades.
T/D: Trade in Crouch, and have one trade left for a luxury trade, potentially a forward to Brayshaw OR for injury worries.

  24. Im in a knock out final so is it worth trading out Bailey Smith to a Fyfe/Duncan/Sheil type? who id think would likely score higher than Smith??

  25. Good F6 option under $510k?

Forward line without byes looks like this at the moment.
Whitfield, Dusty, Petracca, B Smith (Bulldogs), Simpkin and Riccardi.

Need to win a final this week so prefer bringing a player not on the bye.

  26. Hi all,

We’ve got the team at full premo with 5 trades left, but without Jake Lloyd or Max Gawn.

In order to get either in, will need at least 2 trades (1 down, 1 up). Do or die match up in the cash league this week.

DEF is: Laird, Haynes, Maynard, Stewart, Daniel and Saad (Rivers + B Williams on the pine)
RUC is: Nic Nat + Grundy (Draper on the pine)

If I bring in Lloyd, Maynard goes (bye); NicNat gone for Gawn if rested with Draper to cover Grundy (bye). Which player is the priority?

    T/U: Lloyd
    T/D: Gawn

    Cheers

  27. Thanks to some sound advice, thanks Razza and Emile.

I have narrowed it down to these two options..

T/U Play it safe. Draper to JPK

Saves 2 trades for carnage, or to upgrade F6, no Gawn.

T/D Operation Gawn. Use all 3 trades.

Out.. Nic Nat / Draper / Wicks
    In Gawn / Coleman / M8 under $511.300. Dunkley ?
    Loop F6. No Ruck cover.

PS: If I’m going Gawn, I want to keep Grundy. I just can’t trust Nic Nat with no cover.

    Thanks again guys.

    1. OK last one.

Sorry but this is possibly the last and surely the biggest, move of my season

I think I may have nailed it.

Out. Nic Nat / Grundy / Draper.

      In Gawn / ROB* / M/F under $454k JPK / Simpkin / Greene

ROB* next 3.. GWS / Carlton / Rich

I feel ROB will likely outscore Nic Nat, and I have way less headaches with TOG or resting issues. Also, getting him in means I don’t need to downgrade, and have stronger cover Mid Forward.

      T/U Nailed it !

T/D Keep Nic Nat and get a better M8 as above.

      Thanks people.

  29. Had planned all year to get Gawn for PF which I am in, and was lucky enough to be on target till McGrath injury. So limited to about 480k to ensure enough for Goldy to Gawn PF rd instead of this rd. So……..

    T/U JPK
    T/D Parker

Nothing sinister in the two Sydney boys being my preferences.

    4

    5
  30. Hey STC,

Playing for league and got the bye this week so no need to trade Grundy out over Goldy.

with 6 trades left do I trade

TU- Goldy and Draper > Gawn and 102k rookie
TD -Goldy, B Smith, Mosquito > Gawn, JPK, Coleman

Trading out Draper leaves me with a lot more money and an extra trade, but the second trade gives me more coverage.
