  1. 8 trades and $285k remaining with Fritsch and Guelfi left to upgrade. Lloyd looks like a must have. I have been waiting for him to drop in price but he gets better each week. Alternatively I can get a mid now (Duncan, Gaff, Neale, etc) and hope Lloyd drops in price soon.

Up – Guelfi to Lloyd (via dpp)
Dn – look for cheaper mid option and get Lloyd later

      1. In classic, if you go to your fixture it has a match scheduled for me against an opponent. There is nothing for round 20 as thatโ€™s the first round of finals. It canโ€™t be scheduled yet as the ladder and opponents havenโ€™t been set yet.

  2. Need to upgrade Dusty and possibly trade Fyfe.

And killer bad scores from McD, Devon Smith, Luke Ryan, Heeney (on debut) have me sweating about other injuries as I was working and missed most of the games.

  3. Hey guys currently in the US and just got here from Canada and canโ€™t believe im actually ranked 13! That being said couldnโ€™t do it without this site and everyone that comments on it appreciate it. Since Iโ€™m not in Aus though if anyone can pass info about fyfe and his injury that would be great thanks. Hard to keep up with the news up here

    1. ZED FC?? Nice one!! Bad news is that Fyfe is probably out for three weeks although we’ll know more in the next day or two. Good news is that you can replace him with any MID apart from T.Mitchell (whom you already have) or Jack Macrae (injured anyway)……..

      1. Yeah Zed FC is the one! Thanks mate might just have to swap him straight to Neale. Will leave me with only 3 trades though

  4. Guelfi and McInerney out McLean and Olango In

Completes team with Hurley D6, Dusty M8, Walters F6 Nic Nat R2 and him being straight swap to Grundy next week.

    T/U Good Plan

T/D Upgrade Nat to Grundy this week and Guelfi plus a McInerny to McLean and Olango next week

  5. I’m assuming Fyfe will miss 3-4 weeks, I have 5 trades left and 44k and am ranked 4200 and something and want to finish in the top 2k. If he’s missing what’s the best option?

    TU: Fyfe to Kelly
TD: Keep Fyfe and go Guelfi to a 102k DPP rookie and spargo to Matt Crouch as an M9. Can loophole Crouch and Dusty once Fyfe returns but I’ll only have 3 trades.

    Comment Fyfe to Gaff

  6. Lachie Neale averaging 118 in his past 9 games, is cheaper, is more of a pod than Kelly, is less of an injury risk than Kelly and tends to score better without Fyfe in the side. I might be choosing him ahead of Kelly as Fyfe’s replacement.

      1. He was already tagged after Fyfe went down and put up decent numbers for the rest of the game and I only think eagles and the hawks might try to tag him in the remaining games of the season

  7. I may hold off but it’ll depend on Fyfe and Heeney’s injuries (like most, I imagine).

May just look at moving Ahern to my forward bench and bringing in a cheap midfield for loophole purposes.

  8. Upgrading Phillips to Shuey (Very Underpriced) to cover Fyfe? Thoughts? Then use Shuey as a M9 Loophole for SC finals.

  9. Just want to say thanks to all coaches at SCTalk for the help and info throughout the year! I’ve never ranked top 25,000 before and am currently sitting 106th and 9 points out of the top 100. Couldn’t do it without all the info on this site!!

Will likely hold and go no trades this week given I only have 4 left and how hectic all the injury carnage has been you never know when they’ll be needed. However, if Heeney is out for the week or if there’s more selection carnage, to cover spots I might consider:

Spargo – Daniels (GWS) as a non playing fwd/mid loophole; and
Phillips – Shuey as a cheap M9 and to cover Fyfe for three weeks

    Only early thoughts though

  10. Assuming Fyfe could miss up to 3 weeks which of these options sounds better long term

T/U Fyfe and Fritch to Selwood and Crouch

T/D Fyfe and Martin to Dangerfield and Crouch

If Fyfe misses 2 and plays 2 with that 39 in his score he looms as a cheap option to bring back in for the finals.

    1. Car crash apparently, all details are sketchy at this early stage. It sounds like heโ€™s doubtful for this week though, not injured but reading between the lines….club imposed ban maybe?

  11. Playing for league

Have 9 trades left. What should I do with Fyfe?

    TU: Hold
    TD: Trade

I could potentially bring him back in later at a lower price if I decided to trade him out now

    3

    15
  12. 4 trades left and 102k ITB
    Current side…
    Backs
Simpson Yeo Sicily crisp Laird Savage
    Austin redman

    Mids
Titch Fyfe Cripps danger Duncan wines gaff cogs
    Phillips Ahern j.smith

    Ruck
    Gawn Martin
    Orlango

    Forwards
Gray D.Smith McLean Mundy Fritsch battle
    Keefe T.Smith

    T/U – Austin to B.Lynch to give me 249k
Which allows me to go Phillips to menegola to cover Fyfe and then when Fyfe comes back he could slot in my forward line for battle. Obviously I’m only left with 2 trades but I’m not going to win supercoach so does it really matter haha

T/D – Just trade Fyfe to another premo

    16
  13. Will Billings keep posting 95+ scores for the year? Looks to be in his proper position and due to a lack of trades on my end I think I might need some budget premos.
    TU: it’s worth the risk
TD: it’s a trap the 2 scores are a fluke

    1. I traded him out earlier in the year and a perverse part of me wants to trade him back in as F7 cover but I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to do it. Whatever he does is up to the gods because the gap between his best and worst is as big as it gets.

      1. Traded Billings in 3 times over the last 12 hours, but thereโ€™s an element of relief every time I hit the reverse button ๐Ÿ˜‰

        1. i brought him in this week. necessity rather than desire, but feel pretty happy about it.
down to two trades now, so need him to keep delivering!

          1. He’s actually a pretty good F7 option as STK have three friday nights, two saturday and two saturday night games with no Sunday’s. A pretty handy loop if you have a non-playing F8 loop and a player from Melb, WC, Freo, NM, WB or PA to fall back on, particularily through SC Finals as they are heavy Sunday teams.

            1. Fantastic anoligy, B-harvs!

Youโ€™ve put up a dam good argument for me to seriously reconsider him, Iโ€™m looking for that F7 cheap cover!

                1. If youโ€™ve got an extra 15k

Dahlhaus $382,200k is also an option?

Not fantastic in 2018, but played all 14 games so a lot more durable than Shuey & heโ€™s a mid/fwd dpp

                  Scored 1×100โ€™s, 2×90โ€™s, 6×80โ€™s, 1×70โ€™s, 2×60โ€™s & 2×50โ€™s to break it all for down Freo Tragic

                  1. Billings over Shuey simply because you can probably use him to cover a midfielder as well as a forward heading into the future by swinging one of your fwd/mids into the midfield for an Ahern or whoever else you might have. At least that way if you run out of trades you have a guy who can cover 14/22 players. I’m heavily considering this move myself but I feel totally burned by him after I traded him out after R8. It would feel a bit like walking into a trap.

                  2. Thanks Catta.

Looks like Fyfe maybe gone. ๐Ÿ™

I have no idea who to replace him with. Seems everything I do turns to mud at the moment!

                    1. JPK, looks a handy option if you havenโ€™t got him!

                      Averaging 28 possessions including 15 contested, 4.5 inside 50โ€™s, 6.25 clearances, 5 tackles & an impressive 114.12 average a game over his last 8!

                      2

                      0
  14. Back: Simpson, Yeo, Sicily, Laird, Hurn, Webster (J Smith, Keeffe)
Mids: Mitchell, Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Dangerfield, Oliver, Coniglio, Martin (Phillips, Ahern, Barry)
    Rucks: Gawn, Martin (Cameron)
Fwds: Heeney, Gray, Smith, Walters, McLean, Fritsch (T Smith, Battle)

    Trades 9
    Cash 18k

Thinking Fyfe to Crouch or similar (if reports are 3 weeks plus) and then bring him back when he becomes cheaper for finals (if).
Want to hold Webster, and was thinking of trading D Martin for a mid?
    Thoughts?

  15. Ranked 2325 and two games clear on ladder. got cover for both Heeney and Fyfe, and 8 trades. I’m thinking TMac and Heater have done their job but only want to burn one trade. Can get
lloyd with one trade but need to cull someone like spargo or murphy as well if shaw goes.

    So….

    T/U Tmac to LLoyd
T/D Heater to any of crisp, howe, hurn etc…under 530k…keep tmac dpp

Comment…hold tight for further carnage !!!

  16. Going for overall rank, donโ€™t care about leagues. 902 currently.
    5 trades left
I have a full squad, but bugger all decent bench cover, do I:

T/U: Trade Fyfe out for Shuey as M8 for now and Ed Phillips for Billings as F7
T/D: Get back to the asylum you crazy nutjob….

    1. I’m assuming you’d left those trades aside for injury, right?
Well, one of your players is injured. Trade him to the best premo mid you can afford, don’t get cute bringing in bench cover when you’ve lost one of your best scorers. You’re trying to get more points on the board, not upgrade your bench.

I don’t mind the play but not for a top-scorer – if one of your under-performing premos / mid-pricers goes down, then it would make more sense.

  17. No room to respond to the comment above. Billings can essentially cover a midfielder because you can use Heeney, Walters, Menegola, McLean, Westhoff or any mid/forward to cover the missing midfielder if you have a mid/fwd on your mid bench. Billings then goes on the field for Ahern or Spargo or whoever you have swapped into your forward line. Billings is effectively covering for a midfielder and he can also cover a forward. The idea is that Billings can be a premium from here on you can use for cover. You can’t do the same thing with an M9 unless you already have a midfielder/fwd premo in your mids.

  18. Thanks Will.

    I get it.

I was going to trade Billings in for Guelfi F7 this week so I could do just that.

With Fyfe looking at maybe 4-6 on the sidelines and me just hanging on to the 8 in a few leagues. He really needs to go first.

  19. Dayne Beams…..POD anyone?

Averaged 102.77 over his last 9 games, 114.25 over 8 if you remove his unusual 37 v Essendon, 27.6 possessions including 10 contested, 5.1 clearances, 3.8 inside 50โ€™s, 3 tackles a game & kicked 12 goals over those 9 games too!

    Gabba average 98.8, but 112.25 over 4 if you remove the 37 v Essendon ( 4 more home games in 2018 )

    Average 119.4 v top 8 teams ( 3 more games v top 8 teams )

  20. Tu: Kelly
    Td: Neale

This one is for fyfe is life, 4 trades left afterwards, Kelly more likely to miss a game due to the groin issue.
