    1. Wait a few more weeks if you miss this week on Marshall comes up against gawn that week and scored 50 last time they met earlier this year.

  1. Cogs to:

    TU: Treloar
    TD: Bont
    Comment: Parker or JPK

Current mid is fyfe, macrae, cripps, neale, oliver, sloane, crouch

  2. You know the drill legends

    TU: D. Clarke > K. Dunkley
    Answerth > Whitfield
    (hind as mid emergency)
    (logue as def emergency)
    TD : Answerth > Quaynor
    Logue > Stewart
    (clarke as mid emg)
    (Quaynor as def emg)

  3. Assuming Cogs is out for a least a few weeks.

Is Taranto worth a look with Cogs and Kelly out?

    TU: Good idea
TD: Play it safe and get Sloane

    15

    23
  4. 5 trades left, Walsh for:

    TU- Merrett
    TD- M Duncan

    Comment- Save the trade.
Scored 2520 this week, so maybe I should just keep the trades for emergencies?

    1. Duncan has Carlton at home for SC GF vs. Merrett against Pies who he scored 87 against earlier this year.

  5. Would like to get Sloane and have Setters as cover but can’t afford Hatley to Sloane unfortunately.. So should I:
T/u – Hately to Yeo, have Setters as cover
T/d – Setters to Sloane, have Hately as cover who barley plays

  6. Trade advice part 2. Haha 😀 loves yas.

    TU: Answerth > Quaynor
    Logue > Stewart

    TD: hold a week and go;
    Answerth > Random rookie?
    Logue > Whitfield

Just means ill essentially have to field answerth or logue this week. Currently just outside the top 1k pushing for rank.

    2

    13
  7. I only have Setters to go with 9 trades remaining.
I have two options to finish off my forward line:

    TU: Clarke to Dunkley
    Setters to R Gray

    OR

TD: Double downgrade this week with Clarke down to Dunkley and Burgess to Eggmolesse-Smith and bank the cash for Setters to Marshall the week after.

    6

    18
  8. 7 trades left, 290k in bank, playing for League

    TU
    D.Clarke to K. Dunkley
    Logue to Whitfield

    TD
    D.Clarke to Merrett
    Bewley to K.Dunkley
This allows me to go Whitfield the week after

    7

    12
  9. Help me out please!

    DEFENDERS

    1. Hi Tyson, lots of recommendations in further posts below, agree T Obrien is a weak link in your team, but not this week. With 8 trades left you should be able to get a nice team together by business end of finals, barring no more injuries. But for this week, you need to generate some cash for future trades, so Id say this:
Cogs > Z Merrett (adds 40k to bank)
Logue > Quanor (adds DEF cover, and 120k to bank)

Following weeks round with 180k in the bank, trade out either Obrien or Chol, for I Hill GWS (*on the bubble, depending on named sides of course), which will leave you with a nice bank balance for another premo MID in place of either Setters or D Clarke

  10. Will be full premo this week after I bring in a DEF premo. Plan was always to bring in Whitfield but is his fragility a concern? Already have Hurn, Lloyd, Ryan, Houli and Sicily.

Should I still bring him in?

T.U: Yes, his ceiling is huge and is a must-have.

T.D: Nah, too brittle. Grab a safer, albeit lower-scoring, option.

    Also, anyone have his B.E?

    17

    5
    1. I’m pretty sure his breakeven is around the 155 mark. I’d only be concerned about his fragility if you didn’t have enough trades in case of emergency down the line.

      0

      0
      1. Hmm. Stewart has only tonned up 6 times this year. Granted his other scores have been between 80-90, but won’t it hurt when Whitfield scores 130 and Stewart 90?

        1

        1
  11. Who is the best available defender for less than 430k?

    TU – Hartlett
    TD – Andrews
    Comment – Other

    3

    14
    1. How about Birchall? Scored more than both Hartlett and Andrews this week and he’ll save you 225k.

      10

      0
    2. Or Hunter CLARK. Playing MIDs now, injury-effected score last week against NTH, but went 120 this week and is looking good. With the Saints season over, he’ll likely retain the role for the rest of the year you’d think.
Ballsy move, but awesome POD if it pays off!

Am seriously looking at him for DMoore this week, but will wait for team drops (STK play Sunday unfortunately).

      2

      0
      1. Lol. Couldn’t resist a Saints plug could you, AS?

Either way, 370k is just too expensive for such a risky move.

        2

        1
  12. Double downgrade last week to allow a double upgrade this week.

TU – Merrett & Yeo, fielding a rookie defender (Logue or Answerth)
TD – Merrett & Whitfield fielding a rookie forward (Chol or Hanrahan)

Will probably get the other one the following week.

    4

    12
  13. I am just gunna through a name out here for a POD D6.
    Brandon Ellis
    Why you ask?
Scores better at the G where Richmonds final 6 games are at.
Short back in means he plays further up the field.
    Never gets tagged
    Richmond getting their stars back
Save $80-$90k on Hurn and Whitfield
T/up – not the dumbest idea
T/dn – yep it is the dumbest idea

    18

    17
      1. Macrae
        Fyfe
        Cripps
        Neale
        Oliver
        Merrett
        Treloar

What are your thoughts allsaints? I can only choose one of Sloane or Bont?

        3

        0
  14. Hey all. I’ve got a bit of a pickle. 5 trades left, fully premo if you count Harris Andrews at D6. My best emergencies on each line are:
    D – Logue
    M – Setterfield
    F – Chol.
As you can see not a lot of cover. I have $160k in the bank.
    Should I:
Tu – Trade Andrews to Lloyd and hope 4 trades is enough to cover injuries

Td – hold with Andrews for now

Please comment if you think I’d be better suited upgrading one of my bench players. I’d need some cheap upgrade options though.

    Cheers community.

    16

    7
      1. Thanks for the comment Adam. You reckon that’s wise, leaving only 3 trades? I guess it would mean I could increase cover in the Mids if I trade out Baker or Bewley.

        4

        0
        1. I like the plan as it increases your def cover without committing a sideways trade and should increase your mid cover if you bring in a mid that is currently playing.

If possible could you post your team which helps to recommend any alternatives.

          3

          1. Def
Hurn Laird Williams Stewart Sicily Andrews (Logue Garner)

            Mid
Cripps Neale Fyfe Macrae Bontempelli Oliver Merrett Crouch (Setterfield Baker Bewley)

            1. Good team and I would execute the trades of Logue and Baker out for J Lloyd and K Dunkley.

Allows you to keep Andrews, use him and Sicily to loop at D6, improves cover due to Andrews pushed to the bench and allows Lloyd to be selected increasing your firepower.

Wouldn’t be too worried about the trade situation as you will have sufficient cover in defs and mids and the majority of coaches will be in the same place regarding ruck and fwd cover.

With your remaining trades you could grab a Hoff/Hawkins/Menegola type depending on your funds to provide greater fwd cover.

              1

              0
              1. Thanks for the advice mate. I’ll strongly consider this approach. Sitting just outside 2k at the moment. Would love to finish in the top 1000

                1

    1. Definite remaining tags:

      Sloane: D. Clarke (R18), Curnow (R19), Steele (R20) and Hutchings (R21)

Zerrett: None. Maybe attention from Scheer (R19) and Freo (R22), but neither team has a designated, experienced tagger to deploy.

      17

      0
  15. Going Cogs to Zerrett cause of this. Frees up a bit more cash for the eventual Logue > Whitfield upgrade. Cheers GD

    5

    0
  16. If Cogs is out what is best option?

Only 4 trades left. Currently full premo but Low on cash. Cover (not great scoring) on all lines except ruck.

    TU: Cogs to Merrett

TD: Logue to Quaynar and Cogs to Trelor

Current mids: Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Oliver, Cogs, Sloane, M. Crouch

    Thanks

    12

    2
  17. Logue —> Whitfield & J Kelly —> Sloane

Leaves me with 4 trades left 240k bank with Stack as last upgrade. Most likely Bont or Parker

Bench coverage is Birchall def, Clarke mid & Hanrahan fwd

    1. Whitfield has a be of 156. I’d be waiting a week or 3 till it comes down, unless u need points.

      1. Hey moonshine I’ve actually changed those trades heaps since posting 10 mins ago.

Plan now is to go J Kelly —> Z Merrett & S Stack —> J Kennedy from swans, averages 113.5 without the injury game & first back from it. That makes him the 8th best ave MID + a big POD

        4

        0
        1. Really like the JPK pick up, Hynsi.

In past years tags were always a concern, but now Parker seems to be the target. Can see JPK chugging along at 110 – 115 for the rest of the season, with the occasional big score.

          Nice move.

          0

          0
  18. Current mids: Macrae, Cripps, Bont, Merrett, M Crouch, Neale, Fyfe, aaaaand Cogs… so Cogs for

    T/U – Sloane
    T/D – Oliver
    Comment – Treloar

    2

    7
    1. I would say Zerrett, Oliver & J Kennedy

Kennedy as mentioned above has the 8th best average without the injury games on R10 & 14. With the aside he hasn’t scored lower than 94 + only owned by 4K teams

      1

      1
    1. Fyfe. Everyone seems to be stealing Macrae’s thunder, he’s yet to have a HUGE game like last year.

      3

      1
      1. My slight concern on Fyfe is the fact the last 2 seasons he has played 15 games. This is why I didn’t start with him. Macrae more expensive but less risk?

        0

        0
  19. Best FWD or MID under $473k for my last premo spot. Thinking its Robbie Gray with $100 left in the bank, 1 trade left and a nail biting ride into finals.

    T/U Robbie Gray
    T/D Someone else (comment)

  20. Who to Trade in…
Will leave me with Zero trades. But need to make top 8 in my $$$ league.

    TU
    Silvagni Def/Fwd & Robinson Mid/Fwd

    TD
    Birchall & Dunkley Mid/ Fwd

First option leaves me with the option to swing Silvagni fwd if needed as well as another Mid/Fwd to swing for injuries.

    1

    6
  21. Need to bring in a forward
Is it worth taking a punt on Toby Greene?
With all their midfield injuries, surely he’ll be playing in there for the rest of the season?

    4

    2
    1. Biggy

Cameron seems to prefer Toby forward. I would think Hatley comes back in for Cogs, and Greene returns to the high half forward role.

Toby is a freak ,and can score well in this role too. I still think as we are all getting low in trades ,Toby’s injury history must come into the equation.

Personally I will only be choosing durable players from here on in. If they get injured or rested for even a week or two means you ‘re forced to play cover ( if you have it ). I lost a couple of close finals last year having to do just that.

      Long story short.

No… Toby Greene is not worth the risk in my book.

      2

  22. TU Conigilo , O.Brien (Hawthorn) > Neale, Jarrod Cameron

TD Conigilo , O.Brien (Hawthorn) > Treloar, Jarrod Cameron

    Comment other option

  23. anyone know if Daniel is a chance to be back this week?

If not, how much longer he will be out?

    1

  24. last mid spot.

    TU- Treloar
    TD- Sloane

leaning towards Treloar, because his likely to be affected by a tag then Sloane.

especially with Sloane coming up against D.Clarke this week.

    Thoughts?

  25. Lost my last 2 cash league games (should have won both). Still top 4 but only on percentage, 5 trades left, $46k and full premo.

Upcoming game only 3 uniques. Me vs opponent:
    JKP (M7) vs Merrett
    Ziebell (F6) vs R Gray
    L Ryan (D6) vs Stewart

I should probably hold but L Ryan is really pissing me off since trading him in after his bye and Ziebell lost me the last game by 15 points vs opponent’s Toby Greene. Don’t have Whitfield and Rowan Marshall otherwise have the top scoring D & F’s and can only get them using 3 trades.

TU: you answered your own question – HOLD
    TD: trade away

    5

    6
  26. Lloyd Hurn Stewart
    Sicily Hurley (Injured) Birchall
    Bench Naish Wigg

Danger Fyfe Cripps Neale Bont Shuey Gaff Rowbottom
    BENCH Hind Woodcock Hayden

    Grundy Goldy
    Bench Fort

Kelly Heeney Gray Worpel Setters Lewis
    BENCH Young Gardner

    3 Trades left 75 K remaining

NEED ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO WITH THESE 3 TRADES
    Trade Setterfield ? Lewis ? Rowbottom ?
    Also need to trade Hurley

    0

    0
    1. Trade Hurley to someone decent you can afford.
Hold the other two trades for when you really need them. Soon you’d expect! It’s carnage season.

      1

      0
    1. Depends on if you have the trades, Jarrod. Going to take 2 trades and a couple weeks for you to make money from him, by which point you should be full premo anyway.

Think he’s come too late in the season to be of any use to us, besides bench cover perhaps.

      1

      0
      1. Have 9 trades left but I’m using 2 this week 1up 1down to get in dunkley as my final fwd. That leaves me with my final premo upgrade which will be a def in place of duursma. I have logue still sitting on the bench with 120k in the bank so I’m thinking maybe get Birchall as cover for this week then bench him the week after.

The other option is getting a rookie like quaynor and banking a little extra cash.

        0

        0
        1. In that case, Logue -> Birchall at some stage sounds good. Well thought through, Jarrod.

          1

          0
    1. Brett Bewley : 27 touches kicked 2 behinds WAFL Sat.
Oskar Baker had 26 disposals and a goal, along with a courageous mark for Casey Demons (VFL) Sunday.

  27. Def dilemma….

    Answerth/Logue at D6/7.

If I downgrade one of them to rookie such as Egg, im a 1000 short for Sicily with a very shaky bench warmer. Am also considering the likes of Z. Jones or Saad for D6.

At the same time, I can hold onto Logue/Answerth and hope their prices increase to afford Sicily, but Sicily’s price may also go up regardless.

5 trades remaining and this is my last upgrade.

TU: Hold trades and run with Logue/Answerth

TD: Bring in Jones or Saad and take the risk with Egg at D7

    Comments for other options.

    Thanks all.

  28. Esteemed SCT followers: I am in need of your wise counsel

Playing for leagues only (sitting around 6k overall), likely to make the top 4 in my league regardless

have 6 trades left, $337 ITB

this week will be BSmith -> Hurn to complete defs (Logue, Gardner/Burgess on bench)

so then have 5 trades remaining but bench cover on all lines except mids is suspect

still have 1 mid spot to fill (currently holding JKelly) with Clarke holding down M8 (bench hately, bewley, JCameron) – Cameron could cover JKelly

do i sit on JKelly (to save the trade, poss 2) or move him on? Looking at Fyfe if i do

    T/U: move JKelly to Fyfe
T/D: Jkelly coming back soon, save the trade

    thanks boys and girls
