  1. I chose to play with a forward line donut (thanks to Poulter, Briggs & CCJ) and glad I held onto my last few trades – this concussion protocol is great for the players but sucks for us coaches – you can pretty much guarantee each round there will be one SC relevant player concussed and therefore missing the following week. Makes holding onto trades even more important with 2 rounds to go until finals.

    1. Can’t agree more lisa, finals will be decided by injuries i reckon. Everyone running low on trades from now.

  2. Since it’ll be a very popular qualm for many coaches;

If Whitfield is ruled out for two games (giants playing on Thursday or Friday) what do we do?

    Trade T/U

    Hold T/D

Only 6 weeks to go so taking two 60s from rookies sends you 80 points behind the non Whitfield owners, minimum.

    10

    1. Predicting a 60 from a rookie is a bit generous it feels like recently haha, I have struggled to crack 40 out of my onfield rookies recently.

      1. GWS FIXTURE LOCKED IN – Giants play Saturday, Whitfield should be back in time assuming he gets through training

        1

        0
  3. DEF – Laird, Whitfield, Short, Daniel, Lever, Jiath (Highmore, Bianco)
MID – Parish, J. Macrae, Merrett, Kelly, Petracca, Guthrie, Taranto, Mundy (Edwards, Newcombe, F. Macrae)
    RUC – Gawn, Hickey (Reeves)
FWD – Zorko, Ziebell, Martin, Bolton, Walker, Briggs (Madden, Ralphsmith)

$31,000 spare and 4 trades left

Whitfield out and needing to fix my forward situation. I’ve lost in all my leagues in the last 2 weeks. Dropped out of the 8 in one, and only just holding on in the other three. I know most of you will probably say I still need to hold onto trades, bit I feel I have to do something to give myself a chance for finals with two rounds left in the SC H&A.

    So do I:

    – Still aim to bring Dunkley or another forward premo in?
    – Trade Whitfield out and concede that I won’t have a full premo side, and possibly concede on making finals, because that’s how my year has been?
    – Hold onto the trades and watch everyone else beat me by 200 points again?

    I really don’t know tbh

    1. Hmm, going to sound a little wild but hear me out:

      Whitfield -> 102k loop
      Madden -> Dunkley (when ready)

Highmore D6 for the season (which I honestly think is serviceable), 2 trades left for cover and a huge edge with Dunkley back in. If you wanted to keep Madden and go Briggs -> Dunkley, you’d have to use a 3rd trade.

Think it could be a nifty maneuver given you don’t have much cash gen coming through.

    2. Jiath is also out for the season so use Highmore to cover as D6, Trade Whitfield and Jiath and you will have 929k to use to cover for Whitfield and fill your forward six while swapping Briggs to defence. I would suggest maybe nick Haynes and rowan marshall as the cover.

          1. Well I think that solidifies me not being able to field a full premo side this year then.

I can go at least Jiath to Haynes. I don’t mind that pick as he’s been alright in the last 4-5 weeks.
I’ll have to pass on Marshall though. Too injury prone and his scores are up and down like a yoyo.

I have $498k, so I could get someone like Bailey, Hind, Stringer or De Goey who’ve been going well recently. They seem at least a bit more consistent than Marshall.

            0
            1. Hind is probably the best option in that pack seeing as he has a few easy matchups in the last games, North Melbourne, Collingwood, Gold Coast, GWS, Bulldogs and Sydney ( not in order ), but de goey seems to be a permanent midfield player now and definitely has the potential to bet out all 3 of them

    1. They’re having issues with the system. Makes sense given a slim, long sleeved bogan named “Jaidyn” just carved up the Eagles on their home deck on his way to a phenomenal 155.

      8

  4. With only 3 trades remaining, I’m holding unless it’s a 2+ week injury. Given that I have Jiath, I think I will use one this week while I wait to hear on Tex and Langford.

In positive news, I’m full ‘premo’ and have been moving up the rankings slowly and steadily for six consecutive weeks and am now ranked inside the top-10,000. Given the rough mid-season patch, I’m aiming for the top 5,000.

    8

      1. Yup, and Jiath for the season… I hit full premium last week and now have two of my starting forwards injured in one week. Welcome to the carnage everybody!

        0

        0
  5. Went all out to get Danger last week (McLuggage out for Danger) instead of going for the cheaper FWD line guys. This now only leaves me with $463k for my final upgrade thanks to Weightman not making as much as I need:

T/U – De Goey. Already have Crisp & Pendlebury as Pies mids
    T/D – Bolton

    Comment – Bazlenka

  6. Another solid weekly score (2624) but what could have been if Langford and Jiath didn’t get injured. I’ll have to wait on news regarding Langford but since Jiath is likely out for the season, I’ll go Jiath to Lloyd and hold the 105k.

I want Mills but with injuries happening every week and m8 still needing upgrading (Unless Bramble pulls a 120 every week), I think having the extra cash will be essential. Cheers

      1. Absolute shame! Jiath and Langford to:

        T/U Lloyd and Degoey/Marshall/Hind

        T/D Dunkley and Haynes

        2

        6
  7. Daniher to Marshall now that Hipwood has done his ACL? I’m not sure whether this will see Daniher scoring higher or whether he’ll have greater attention by the opposition defence…

    TU: Make the trade
    TD: Hold Daniher

(Have 7 trades and $50k in the bank pre-trade)

  8. Hey guys
26k in the bank, 2 trades remain
    The team looks like this
Def – Mills, Stewart, Ridley, Whitfield, Short, Haynes (Bianco, 102k)
Mid – Bont, Zorko, Zerrett, Laird, Walsh, Brayshaw, Boak, Taranto (Bramble, Newcombe 102k)
Ruck – Grundy, Gawn ( Reeves)
Fwd – Danger, Ziebell, Hind, Martin, Langford, Marshall (Holmes, 102k)
    Thoughts on any trades –
I Am looking to hold Whitfield, may swap Langford for Fyfe via DPP depending on how long he is out

    3

    0
    1. You will have to hold Whitfield. Maybe swap Bianco – Laird and play Bramble for a week. If Langford is long term there is a few choices. Probably the best and cheapest you can find as you will only have one trade left.

      0

      0
      1. Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Looking at maybe swapping laird with Bianco, bringing on bramble and trading langford to Fyfe via Zorko depending on the injury length

        1

        0
        1. T/u – Fyfe he’s a proven gun
T/d – Dunstan Fyfe gets injured And Dunstan is in great form

          0

          3
  9. DEF: Laird, Mills, May, Stewart, Ridley, Jiath (Highmore, Bianco)

MID: Steele, Bont, Macrae, Oliver, Zerret, Walsh, Boak, Bradshaw (RCD, Sharp, Newcombe)

    RUC: Gawndy (Reeves)

FWD: Zork, Danger, Ziebell, Dusty, Heeney, Madden (Waterman, Briggs)

    ITB $185k, 6 trades left

TU: Jiath to Lloyd (delaying being at full premo)
TD: Madden to RoMo (Highmore at D6)

    5

    3
    1. I’d rather have Highmore on field rather than madden. all that matters is whether you think the gap between what Highmore can produce and what madden can produce is worth the gap between Lloyd and RoMo.
Maybe look at tom stewart instead of Lloyd as well

      4

      0
  10. 3 trades left and will need to use 2 of them for Weightman to be upgraded. Trade now to one of Tom Mc Donald – Tom Hawkins – Toby Greene due to cash being tight or hold and miss risk missing them and possibly leaves me with either Taylor Walker or Shai Bolton in a couple of weeks. Thoughts appreciated.

    1

    1. Maybe look at Rowan Marshall as an upgrade as he is a proven scorer, and has been progressing in time on ground as well

  11. Hi! This is my first season playing SC and it hasn’t gone that great. I play for my league not rank and this is my team:
Def: Laird, Stewart, Lloyd, Whitfield, Harmes, Bianco (Madden, Gould)
Mid: Macrae, Merrett, Mitchell, Oliver, Kelly, Cerra, Cripps Bramble (Newcombe, Sharp, Davies)
    Ruc: Grundy, Gawn (Hunter)
Fwd: Zorko, Ziebell, Dale, Martin, Langford, Wood (Brockman, Briggs)
I have $55,300 remaining and 6 trades left.
I’m thinking holding this round with Madden subbing for Whitfield and Brockman/Briggs for Langford as these are only one week.
Any suggestions on what to do, they would be greatly appreciated!

    1. I’d go McKay for 30k cheaper.

Has an easy fixture upcoming with games at Marvel where he’s been playing well this season!

      3

      2
        1. I’d say it’s comparable, McKay feasts at Marvel.

Has Collingwood this week (scored 98 earlier this year)

And then the rest of his games at Marvel including North & GC. (106.5 avg at marvel this season for him)

          2

          0
    1. I’ll give you a few combos I’d rank if I went it myself:

      1. Harry McKay (run is about to get good) & De Goey / Zac Bailey / Nick Hind

      2. Rowan Marshall & Tom Atkins

      3. Joe Daniher & Sidebottom

      3

      0
      1. Id say Rowan Marshall and Tom Atkins are good, But Harry McKay and Hind have potential to go bigger or bust

        5

        0
        1. Definitely agree GGG, depends entirely on where the rest of Sloany’s team is at and if he’s in a position to take a punt or play it safe.

          1

          0
          1. If your to try and jump your way higher up the rankings and are willing to take the chance to fall behind then go Mckay and Hind, but if you are up there and what to stay then go for Marshall and Atkins

            0

  12. TU: Robertson, Madden > 102k rookie + De Goey
TD: Use the trades to get a better fwd (Zorko, Dunkley)

Finishes my fwd line: Ziebell, Hall, Dusty, Bolton, Danger, De Goey
and leaves me 5 trades and $90k to upgrade my last mid (Bont, Lyons, Touk)

    2

    7
  13. have only 4 trades left for the season. I was going to upgrade CCJ and Robertson to Walsh this week but have missed that boat unfortunately

I still need to trade these two but I also need to preserve trades. I was thinking of the following:
Robertson to Tim Kelly (1 trade) or
Robertson and CCJ to de Goey (2 trades)

    which is the better option

    12

    2
  14. To finish team
    TU Bont
    TD Steele
Have Touk Parish Macrae Oliver Guthrie Brayshaw and Boak

    15

    21
  15. After a 3rd ton in a row is De Goey the real deal?
TU: Go for it, he’ll keep it up with the role change.
TD: Forget it, you’re just chasing points.

    19

    5
  16. Bianco > 102k cheapie
Jiath > Marshall via Madden DPP

Last two trades will be cashing in on Bramble and Madden in a couple of weeks.

    9

    0
  17. 5 trades left. $38K only
Stuck with CCJ, Weightman, Jiath & Whitfield….
Going to stick with Whitfield and CCJ. Jiath goes, not sure about Weightman yet.
    So…..
    TU: Jiath -> Haynes
TD: Jiath -> Marshall / De Goey

    0

    12
  18. What’s the better points scoring combo for this week?

    T/U: Highmore + Madden
    T/D: Bianco + Dale

    2

    13
  19. 4 trades left, 1 upgrade to go, only $16k in the bank…

TU – trade mcreery to $102k rookie this week, leaving enough to trade weightman and Bianco next week to a $550k(ish) mid (Adams, boak etc).. and run the gauntlet with just one trade left

TD – hold this week and trade weightman and Bianco for someone closer to $450k next week (Bailey smith, maybe?), but have security of 2 trades for the run home

*I think Guthrie and fyfe will both just be out of reach if I go second option

    Cheers

  20. Can someone help me im stuck on what i should do with ccj and who to get really low on the dollars
5 trades left 44K in the bank.

    Def
Whitfield ,Ridley, Lloyd, Short, May, Daniel (Briggs, Sharp)

    Mid
Macrae, Steel, j.macrae, laird, walsh, bolton, cerra, Bianco (L.Edwards, Newcomble, Bramble)

    Ruck
    Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)

    Forward
    Zorko, Martin, Ziebell, J.Daniher, C.dixon, weightman(ccj, rosas)

    2

    0
    1. Look at trading CCJ and Bianco, and then with the money from that plus your bank
you will have 535 – bring in a cheap rookie 102k and then you will have 433k to spend
look for players like tom Atkins, bailey smith and or Tim kelly ( i like kelly the best of those options)

      1

      2
      1. That will leave you with Weightman on the field, if you feel better with bramble on the field then trade Weightman and ccj which will give you 631k in the bank
use 102k to 117k and that leaves you with 514-529. You can switch Bolton fwd if you want to bring in a mid, such as fyfe or boak.

        1

        0
  21. Another follow-up…..
TU: Jiath -> De Goey (1 trade)
    TD: Jiath & Weightman -> Dunkley & 102K rookie (2 trades)
    leaves 3 trades

    5

    15
      1. Trading Whitfield

        T/U – Rich
        T/D – Ryan

Will now only have one trade left ….
        Thanks everyone

        0

        0
    1. Hind is probably more consistent, but de goey has the potential to score an extra hundred to 200 points more over the last rounds, but also has the potential to score 100-200 less

      3

      1
  22. Finishing side this week and will have 1 trade remaining… yikes

Anyways Tu- hind + 40k in bank
Td- Marshall + 100k in bank

Thinking spare cash could be useful with only one trade left in case of an injury

    9

    8
    1. If you’re finishing the side then you probably wont need to much cash in the event of injury, so i would suggest Hind

      1

      0
  23. Sorry I’m posting my side again (seems to be re-occuring each week). But I’m wanting to put up a TU/TD, and I think looking at my side might help people’s opinions on that

DEF – Laird, Whitfield, Short, Daniel, Lever, Jiath (Highmore, Bianco)
MID – Parish, J. Macrae, Merrett, Kelly, Petracca, Guthrie, Taranto, Mundy (Edwards, Newcombe, F. Macrae)
    RUC – Gawn, Hickey (Reeves)
FWD – Zorko, Ziebell, Martin, Bolton, Walker, Briggs (Madden, Ralphsmith)

$31,000 spare and 4 trades left

These were the two options I was thinking

TU – Jiath and Whitfield > Haynes and Hind/De Goey (Through Briggs DPP), about $40-50k spare. Upgrade Highmore in a week or two with my last two trades to have a “full premo” side come finals time.

TD – Jiath and Bianco > Haynes and 102k defender (maybe Durham, who has a small chance of making a debut), $118.8k spare. Can downgrade Highmore and upgrade Madden in a week or two to get Dunkley in. Should be still a “full premo” side, but leaves my backup on the bench a bit more bare.

    4

    4
    1. No real reason to trade Whitfield while you have good cover in highmore, and if it lets you bring in dunkley then absolutely go with option two

      2

      0
  24. I don’t wanna trade Whitfield out, however I don’t wanna field Bianco this week if he is even named. 406k for a D7

    T/U Redman
    T/D Bowes

    Or comment for better option?
    Need y’all help. Cheers

    4

    1
    1. Best players in your price range are probably Redman, Bowes, Sam Taylor, who was performing well before he got injured, with scores of 95, 104, 93, 93, 79, 87, 93, 104 and (51 injured) – Of those three i would probably go taylor

      1

      0
        1. I’m saying Bianco this week + Whitfield rest of the season out scores Redman or Bowes for the rest of the year.

          2

          0
          1. I agree but he’s not trading Whitfield, he’s trading Bianco for Bowes/redman as backup, Whitfield plays the rest of the season, he is just looking for cover this week instead of Bianco, so instead of Bianco for one week and Whitfield for the rest we have redman/Bowes for one week and Whitfield for the rest

            1

            0
  25. I need to streghtne my mid so putting bolton in forward

    TU: J.Daniher,CCJ>O.Wines , rookie(that is playing)

    TD: J.Daniher,CCJ>J.Kelly , rookie(that is playing)

    6

    6
    1. They are pretty even, so i would say wines just because of his ballwinning ability, his tackling and Jelly’s injury history

      3

      1
  26. Thanks going going gawn for that reply, I am 2k short for Taylor 🙁 or eles i would definitely take him up. I only have 406k which is so much better in the lines. But I don’t have dpp swing. My rookie cover backs are Jones (injured) and Bianco

    2

    0
    1. ooh. Maybe just hold Bianco for one week as I cant see the use in having a d7 like redman for one week of cover when it burns a trade

      0

      0
  27. The notes on SuperCoach app are saying Whitfield passed concussion test and could play this week? That true?

    0

    3
    1. On the heraldsun article
Is Lachie Whitfield going to play?

The star Giant was subbed out of the Round 17 clash with the Suns at half-time and was diagnosed with concussion on Monday, meaning he won’t be able to play for 12 days under the mandatory protocols.

He won’t play in the Sydney Derby in Round 18, and 12 days from Monday is the Friday of Round 19 – fortunately for owners, the Giants-Bombers fixture has been locked in for the Saturday twilight slot, so he should miss just the one week.

  28. Trading Whitfield

    T/U – Rich
    T/D – Ryan

Will now only have one trade left ….
    Thanks everyone

  29. I need to trade Langford and Jiath. I have some $$ in the bank and torn on what to do:

    TU Stewart and Degoey/Marshall/Hall

    TD Brodie Smith/Newman/Andrews and Danger

    19

    0
    1. if your side is complete with 5 trades left two things. first I’m jealous, and second with 100k spare you can afford to upgrade him to a premo

      3

      1
  30. T/ U – Bianco to T Adams/Guthrie $50k itb one FWD premo upgrade left

    T/D – Bianco to T Kelly $163k itb

    6

    5
    1. Kelly might score 20 less points than those two, but with the extra 163k in the bank that means you can afford to make that last upgrade a good one, so go for kelly and hope he can stay within 20 points

      3

      1
  31. Only 2 trades left… $60,000 in bank

TU Keep Weightman and CCJ in forward line and save trades
TD Trade Weightman and CCJ for Marshall/Hind/DeGoey and a playing rookie? but no trades heading into finals??
    Any help appreciated!!
    Thanks

    1. I would check the team sheets. There will be a few small forwards fighting for spots once Dunkley is back. If Weightman is dropped I would chance on Heeney.
CCJ is listed as 1 to 2 weeks. You really need to keep one trade for an injured premo swap.

      3

      0
    2. If you think CCJ is good enough cover, and you think you need just one trade, Trade Weightman at this point as he is more expensive. this leaves you with something like 371, meaning you could try and bring in Harry Mckay with his run home, or maybe even take a chance on Bailey Banfield, who scored 89 in his first game back. Jesse Hogan could be another option

  32. Hi all!

Sorry for the long post, I was hoping for some advice for the run home. I’d really appreciate any comments sharing your thoughts.

First full season of SC after starting mid-way through last year. I’ve definitely learned a lot, mostly by grabbing premos at their highest price and watching them drop (Ridley, Guthrie), or playing too conservatively when I should’ve shorted (Cripps, Daniel), but I’ve played some situations well and I’m in an alright spot team-wise.

I’m on top in my League and 14k overall, with my goals being winning League and trying to break into the top 10k overall. I don’t have great PODs, so that’s something I think might be a bit of a weakness to address.

    $18,200 | 6 Trades
DEF: Laird, Ridley, Lloyd, Whitfield, Short, Daniel (Bianco, H.Sharp)
MID: Steele, Bont, Zerrett, Walsh, Oliver, Guthrie, Langford, Cripps (J.Sharp, Edwards, Newcombe)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Reeves)
FWD: Zorko, Danger, Ziebell, Hall, Dusty, De Goey (Waterman, Brockman)

I’m planning on Langford > T.Kelly to give me $89k in the bank. What I don’t know is what to do with Whitfield. I have Bianco as cover (if named), and I like Whitfield in my final team because he’s relatively low in selection (16%) and they have a chance of making finals. He has a history with concussions, missing a couple last year, and even if Bianco hits his average (big if), that’s a lot of points behind my trade-in options. Moving Whitfield on is likely my only chance to grab Mills before end of year. If Bianco is dropped I’ll trade Whitfield.

I can go Whitfield > Mills (20%), $8k bank, OR
    Daniel > Stewart (36%, $30k)/Crisp (4%, $36k)

I’ve been looking at Daniel & Cripps as luxury trades to complete my team, so trading out Daniel this round allows me to fully downgrade Edwards to a $102k (Durham) and move Cripps out next week.

    TU: Whitfield > Mills
    TD: Daniel out

    Comments greatly appreciated. Thanks SCT!

      1. Thanks Abs, I can see the logic and have tried out a few things with your suggestion.

With about $513k to play with, doing both Langford and Cripps in one round isn’t giving me options that I have a lot of confidence in outside of Pendles. Injury risk profile is a bit high with Telly, Ziebell, Hall, Danger & De Goey to bring in Marshall, and while Dale’s consistency is attractive he’s only 10 points above Cripps. I do like Zurhaar as a punt.

        Any suggestions I’ve missed?

I think GGG’s option below gives me a chance to grab some stronger players, but 4 trades in the bank could be handy in the run home.

        1

        0
        1. See what you mean, let me do some math. Telly looks uncertain for the weekend so let’s rule him out firstly.

Waterman or any rook -> 102k poop (that allows the funds to do) Langford -> Petracca.

Next week assuming no injuries or bad luck, can look at moving Cripps.

I think going down to 2 trades is fine especially if it allows a good mid in place of Cripps.

          1

    1. 3 things – first, congrats on being that high in your first season, second, how do you have 6 trades left and third, this is what i reckon you should do. hold whitfield and leave daniel in. Use Bianco for one week, and use your trades this week to trade out Langford and a rookie for a cheapie and a premium. If you trade out Langford and say waterman that gives you 704k in the bank. Bringing in a 102k rookie leaves you with 600k to get a premium this week.
Then next week bring Whitfield back on and trade Cripps and another rookie, possibly Bianco or Edwards and you should hae something like 650k plus whatever you have leftover from the langford trade. get a 102k rookie and then you have something like 550k plus to spend on your final premium and have two trades to coer injuries for the rest of the season

      1. Thanks GGG! Appreciate the response mate. I timed some trades well, but I had a rough go during the bye rounds and fell a bit from 11k, so I was probably a bit too conservative at times.

Good one! I like Waterman, Dons have a good run home and he had more time on the ball last week, so I’ll hold him for a little while longer. If I drop Edwards I have solid options.

Thoughts on Langford, Edwards > Telly, 102k this week and Cripps, Waterman > Touk/Lyons/Macrae, 102k next week?

        3

        1. That’s good. As long as kelly performs well then that is pretty much perfect. Maybe in the second trade, you could look to try and bring in a cheap rookie as your gonna lose cover with Edwards and waterman both out

          2

    1. With Vlastuin a fortnight away and Houli out LT, definitely Short.

      Will come home strong.

  33. I have 3 trades remaining, robertson and weightman on field locked into FWD with madden on bench and 68k itb. Playing for leagues and 3rd on the ladder with highest overall score. Trading a def/mid bench would mean losing cover for rest of season

    Looking grim…

    Do I
TU play safe and keep team as is and trades on hand… make a trade with a few rounds to go
TD Make a trade now to get one extra premo on field and sacrifice a bench spot?

    Thanks Guys

    7

    1
    1. If you are playing for League then play it safe and make sure you have cover. Then reassess just before the last few rounds, because if you have the most points you should be fine before then

      2

  34. Currently have 4 trades and $33k in the bank, with 1 premo upgrade needed in my backline. I have Laird, Stewart, Ridley, Daniel, Haynes and Highmore. Going to trade Highmore up but will probably wait one more week before doing it. Just not sure which option to go with:

T/up – Use 2 trades to get Jake Lloyd next week

T/down – Use 3 trades and push for Mills which leaves me with 1 trade for finals

    7

  35. Make or break week for trades for me.

Currently have Whitfield & Langford combo, plus Bianco at M8. I have 3 trades left and 62k in the bank.

I’m currently sitting 9th in my cash league so next two weeks are must win games.

Thinking I’ll be aggressive and move both Whitfield and Langford for Guthrie and Shai, swing Bianco back to D7 and Highmore on field, which leaves me with 1 trade left and $97,500 in the bank. Ideally and with luck this means I can upgrade Highmore to a fallen premo come finals. Thoughts?

  36. 2 rookies on field $300 or so to play with 5 trades left:

TU: weightman to Walsh with $30,000 left in the bank and 4 trades (1 rookie on field – highmore)
TD: weightman to Adams, Highmore to t.Kelly, $40,000 In the bank no rookies on the field

Comment: Weightman to Adams and save trade and a bit of money

    6

    0
  37. Trades 4
    20k ITB
DEF – Laird, Lloyd, Whitfield, Short, Aliir, Bianco (AFyfe, PWalker)
MID – Steele, Bont, Macrae, Lyons, Walsh, Oliver, Trac, Guthrie (Bramble, Edwards, Newcombe)
FWD – Ziegull, Hall, McDonald, Heeney, Thilthorpe, Poulter (Ugle-Hagan, OHenry)

I did ok last week with 2413, but unless something goes really right I’m not even going to make finals in my league.
I’m just going to hope some smart person comes along and solves all my problems.
Potentially I could go Thilthorpe and Poulter -> Briggs and cheaper forward premo (DeGoey??) but I really hope it doesn’t come to bringing in another collingwood player.
    Ideas appreciated.

  38. Hey guys Jiath gone will have the cash to get anyone but only 6 trades left do I

    TU Mills or
TD get a POD one of Salem, Rich or Dawson (comments on which one would be much appreciated)
    Thanks legends

    9

    1. If you have 6 trades then go for Mills. You can get Cash gen in the last 5 by trading out rookies, so no need to go for a cheaper option and avoiding the No1 defender

      1

      0
      1. Only trouble I have with that , which I forgot to mention was that I’m still carrying Bianco on the field with L.Jones and H.Edwards on the bench so need cash to upgrade Bianco as much as I can

  39. I’ll ask again since my post earlier might be overlooked.

    Jiath and Langford to:

T/U Lloyd and one of De Goey/Hind/Hall or Marshall (50k)

    T/D Dunkley and Haynes/Newman (16k)

The first option gives me consistent scoring with some extra bank which will be used for my final m8 upgrade. However, Dunkley might be a genius addition if he can come in and perform like he did at the beginning of the season. Drawbacks is obviously settling for a weaker D6. Cheers

    8

    1
    1. Its all about whether you think the difference between Dunkley’s and Lloyds scoring will negate the difference between Haynes and someone like de goey. Personally, I think the second option is better with the way Dunkley performed, but that extra 34k for the final upgrade could add an extra 5-10 points so Id go with that

      1

      0
    2. Yeah, LG. I’d look at it this way:

      Lloyd (105) + Hall (110) = 215 (plus cash, you said)

      Dunks (120) + Newman/Haynes (90) = 210

Really close. For me, at first look I wouldn’t be able to resist Dunks BUT I would actually go Lloyd and Hall tbh for a few reasons:

      – Dunkley will return with managed TOG and won’t (surely) snap back into 130s, will build into it
      – Newman and Haynes both have floor issues relative to the Top 6 DEFs, of which Lloyd is solidly one
      – Hall is a must have “FWD” imo, averaging 110 in his new role since R7, has only dipped below the ton once and it’d be prudent to shield against his ownership

      3

      1
      1. Appreciate the feedback GGG and GD!

You’re both confirming my initial plan of Lloyd and Hall.

Dunkley, whilst has the potential to be an absolute game changer, it would appear that if he scores well, he’ll be covering for the likes of Newman/Haynes. PLus I’ll need the extra money for my m8.

Much rather have the two consistent scorers and enjoy the 100 each week they provide. Until next year Dunkley! Cheers guys and GL

  40. Sorry I should have been more clear with my Whitfield question. So what I meant was if I trade out Weightman who is my F7 I could use dpp via Bianco who is in my backline to move him to mid cover and leave laird down back which is handy. But it would allow me to bring in
J.Bowes as D7 cover With D8 being the injured L.Jones.

This would mean J Bowes (387k) covers any 1 or 2 week injury for the rest of the season.

Now that Greenwood is out for the season maybe Jack Lukosius plays mid/ wing time allowing J.Bowes to take kick outs and have a high ceiling to even be a loophole with Short ect.

    T/U Bowes
T/D Save the trade and hope Bianco doesn’t get dropped or scores 30 pts and lose top 800 odd rank

    0

    6
    1. Lukosius’ role won’t change, Brad. Don’t bank on that.

They experimented with him up the ground but he’s at his best as that deep distributor and kick in taker, according to Dew. They really rate his delivery by foot.

Swallow, Fiorini and Rowell will have increased CBA loads to cover Greenwood.

If you have heaps of trades left and a full premo team, yeah no harm in Bowes as D7 which you can loop. Found plenty of it last week (26 touches) but held back by uncharacteristically atrocious use (50% DE, 8 clangers).

  42. Houston> Dunkley
    CCJ>Ginnivan
$38k 2 Trades left Weightman left to upgrade (Sharp on field currently via DPP)
Next week: Weightman to McKay to finish team

    TU: Yes get Dunkley
TD: Houston > Dunstan (or another $500k mid) which would allow Weightman to Hind/Dale next week to finish team

    1

    9
      1. “Gunbloat”? Calling me fat lol, Jarman?

As appealing as getting Dunks in is, I’d honestly hold Houston. Get your team to full premo, try to bank some injury trades and then see if you can sneak Dunks in late.

        3

        0
    1. I think that Dunstan and Hind/Dale will outscore Dunkley and Mckay, especially given Dunkley is coming back off a serious injury

  43. Have about 577K who should i get?

TU: Just go for the top Petracca

TD: Wines or Parker cheaper option so for nextweek your have enought dollars for last spot for premo

    COMMENT BELOW FOR OTHERS

    9

    3
    1. If you’re confident that you can go Petracca and still have enough live cash gen to grab that final upgrade, go Petracca.

Owned him for a while (along with Abs, Tom, Slats, TR and a few others), deadly when he kicks moderately straight and hits the scoreboard.

      4

      1. I’ll be there Saturday with the misso while Petracca carves us up, looking forward to it

Definitely think he goes strong to finish the season, no one cheaper I’d back to surpass him points wise either (besides Clarry)

TD: Parker under the radar player get him POD

  45. 3 trades left, $128.9k in the bank, Whitfield and Langford injured and 1 player short of Full keeper. In a pickle with only a few trades left.

Would love to hold Langford and not use a trade, but I probably need to trade him out this week or I’ll have to play Madden & Weightman as F5 & F6 this week. Will hold Whitfield and hope he comes back next round.

    LANGFORD to:
    TU: Rowan MARSHALL
TD: HEENEY (use the spare cash to hopefully upgrade Weightman to Dunkley in a couple of weeks)

Open to any other suggestions in Comments

    2

    3
    1. De Goey? Has an on ball role, gives him a floor of 95-100, looks to be relishing it.

Marshall could easily cop another plantar fasciitis injury (very tender) and Heeney’s floor is painfully low.

Owned Marshall prior to his 2nd injury and still have Heeney. Both are headf*cks to own. Spare yourself lol, Nigel.

      3

      1
      1. Haha – thanks GB! Appreciate that advice. Definitely worth looking at De Goey. Just means I’ll probably have to use 2 trades when I eventually try to bring Dunkley in, but it might be what I have to do. Will delay that as late as I can because once it’s done, I’ll have 0 trades left.

  46. Thanks Gunboat appreciate the feedback maybe i was just hoping Bowes would be the fallen Premo cover incase Whitfield missed more than one game even tho his fixture is fine for the week after. Also yes i have a full premo side if that includes a few players like Brayshaw and Naughton LOL!

However i have also considered going CCJ up to Henney using him as F7 Cover to loop him and Naughtons score for F6. Crazy thoughts i know but got to do something to stay in it. only have 95k in the bank with 2 trades left.

And decent rookie cover in each line

    1

    1. Wow. Your brilliantly positioned, Brad. Nicely done.

Yeah, Heeney the better cover/loop option.

      2

  47. Thanks mate, for now i am. but we all know how it changed in a week or 2. I was 300ish rank and slowly slipping even tho i have had big scores 🙁 1 week injuries killing me. I hate Heeney but he looked good against the dogs, and F7 loop would be nice considering Hawkins can spud it up lol

    1

    1. Yeah, rotate him and Heeney based on match ups and form.

Good luck, hope you come home strong!

  48. Need to replace Jiath using only 1 trade. Bank is pretty much empty

    TU: Redman
TD: Bowes (will he return to early season form?)

    Comment: other suggestions

    5

    1
    1. I said it before, if you can afford Sam Taylor for 406k then he’s the one to go to. If not I would go redman as he is gonna be sharing kickouts with ridley, while with Bowes he wont as the suns like lukosius to take them

      0

      1
  49. Ok so…

I have 3 trades $6K banked ,and am full “Keeper” with Haynes at D6 Crouch at M8 and Hawkins at F6. I can cover Whitfield with Weightman through some dpp magic.

Crouch has been ok ,but the arrival of Dunstan and now Zac Jones has seen his output decline. He is now $501K with a BE of 132 ( projected 89 to lose $19K.) I feel its time to move him on.

I have considered Dunstan, and even Mundy. I feel both could be consistent enough but have very little upside.

So I have decided I may take a risk on one of these wounded warriors. Both are proven scorers with high ceilings but…are returning from shoulder injuries this year. they are also likely to be around the same price or cheaper next week.

I’m not willing to wait ,as Crouch will also lose money and I want the points this week.

They play each other tonight . So for the last 6 rounds who stays fit, and scores the most ?

    T/U Guthrie.

    T/D Fyfe.

    Thanks folks.

    9

    5
      1. Hi FT, looks like you have great choices, looking at some Mids in the $500k range you could also go David Mundy (season avg 105, 3rd avg 102 and 5rd avg 99.8) and has low ownership.
        Good luck!!

        1

        0
        1. Guthrie’s BE of 147 scares me a bit. It will also leave me only $5K.

I think I’m going Fyfe BE 107 and $20K cheaper.

With just two trades left, The cash maybe the difference.

          Thanks for your suggestions .

  52. Going too look at Langford -> Dunkley

Only issue is it’s at the cost of weightman whose my handy and consistent forward cover. The downgrade options are scarce with little to no JS. May keep it to one trade yet and go Langford too dale, Marshall or de goey.

Whitfield is a hold and hope Murphy or Bianco are named

  53. Hi all, Langford’s hamstring has thrown me this week was possibly looking at upgrading one of my rookie mids.
Last week I traded Treacy > J.Sharp so I had cash for this week.
Before trades this week I have 5 trades left and $125,300 ITB.
Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
DEF: Laird, Mills, Stewart, Whitfield, Lloyd, Short (Madden, Durham)
MID: Macrae, Oliver, ZMerrett, Jelly, Titch, Walsh, Bramble, Sharp (Bianco, Newcombe, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)
FWD: Ziebell, Dangerfield, Dusty, Greene, Langford, Bolton (Brockman, Waterman)

  54. Have Whitfield and still 1 rookie fwd on field with 6 trades left and $160k bank.

    Which option is best?

TU – Whitfield to Mills this week, Bolton/Sidebottom next week
TD – Whitfield to Short this week, Hind/Dale next week

  58. 4 trades and $33k in the bank with 1 more premo defender needed. Thinking of trading Madden down to someone like Durham and then upgrading Highmore to Lloyd. Just not sure if I should trade him in this week or wait one more week on him.

T/up – Trade Lloyd in this week and be left with $3.3k

T/down – Hope Madden and Highmore rise in price a bit more and get Lloyd next week

    7

    1. I’d personally do it this week, think Lloyd will play well against the Giants, can lock him in for a 100+ score.

Points gained would out weigh the dollars potentially gained IMO

  60. T/U – Weightman to DeGoey. Hold last trade and play Bianco as cover for Whit

T/D – Weightman & Whit to Marshall & Lloyd. No trades left

    7

    2
  61. 10 trades left, 306 500 in the bank. 2 mids and 1 forward needed. Timing my run for league finals. Thinking Jordan and Highmore out for Degoey and Miginivan via dpp Martin this week. Then with 476k in the bank, Berry to Guthrie and then Bramble to Bont.

    Leaves team as

D Lloyd Stewart Williams Daniel May Laird (Kozi rookie)

M McCrae Merret Oliver Merrret Bont Guthrie Taranto Pendles (Bianco Rookies)

    R Grundy Gawn (Reeves)

F Danger Martin Ziebell Marshall Degoey Sidey (McCrae Henry)

6 trades left to upgrade or build better reserves.
