    1. Hey nato, with wines back in the middle Hinkley said Houston will be down back now so believe he is a must trade this week unless Essendon players are not playing

  1. Think Whitfield to sympkin is a lock and then Houston to someone but not sure who atm, any suggestions?

    1. Just a concussion for Whitfield, hopefully he comes back.

Houston, however, I agree has to go. Your options are gonna be determined by how much cash he just lost, Tom. Could jump on Doedee? Otherwise, you’ll have to do a rookie downgrade if you want Houston to a proven DEF premo. In which case, Lloyd, Doc, Sicily, Stewart and Haynes seem to be where it’s at down back.

      1. Thanks gunboat, I went early on Doedee and thankfully payed off this week. As for Whitfield gws are always sneaky about injuries and time missed, with him losing so much cash over these next two weeks I think he’s a must trade

        5

        6
        1. Maybe Whitfield to sympkin and Houston to Haynes if you guys think he will be a top 6 defender? Otherwise try to make some more cash so I can jump Houston to Houli Stewart or Lloyd

          8

          1. Again, I’d hold Whitfield if he’s back next week. Concussion isn’t structural, fingers crossed.

If you’re set on off-loading him though, then yeah I really like Haynes. Very consistent.

            13

            1
            1. Alright I back it, especially with how tough it’s been to find consistent scorers this year I’ll hold Whitfield unless he misses then move on

              1. Pretty much how I feel, Whit has lost 60K & could potentially lose another 90Kish over 2 weeks but If he’s playing the price really doesn’t matter, he did knock out a 170 coming back from injury last season too

                13

  2. Might be time to swing the axe on the Jacobs experiment. Watched the GWS Dogs game closely and he didn’t seem interested what’s so ever. God blessing he got close to 100 based on the performance he put out. So might consider downgrading Whitfield (based on the severity of the concussion) to gather the funds for Gawn. Thought on the former Sauce man

    1. Happy you’ve got the the stones to call the Sauce experiment for what it is, LG.

Lot of Sauce owners have buried their head in the sand and refused to concede defeat. Whitfield should be okay, if not then yeah bring Gawn in.

  3. Crisp? I traded Houston last week for him, avoiding the urge to jump on Howe. Over the course of the season I’d say Crisp will average more and likely be top 10 come end of season.

    1. at the start of the season I had Crsip, then 2 mins before lock out round 1 changed him to Brodie Smith, gee i paid for it haha

  4. Might be a risky suggestion

But would anyone think trading Simpkin in for Yeo would be a good trade option?

    11

    1
  5. Toying with the idea of Noble to Doedee, Doedee was in my plans pre-season & he is the type of defender that is scoring well this season, I think you can forgive his first up score.

    14

    1
  6. McHenry, D Cameron and Sturt could all be dropped and with no clarity around Essendon’s self-isolation group yet, can’t make any trades yet.

Would like to get Bennell in, no room for upgrades as of yet without downgrading a premo.

  7. I’m getting rid of houston and there are not many options i have sicily and Docherty so im thinking to get haynes or howe

    T/U Haynes
    T/D Howe

    13

    27
  8. So much wrong with my team right now.
Not starting Neale or Fyfe was one of my biggest mistakes.

    Josh Kelly..

TU: Trade to Fyfe while Fyfe is gettable
TD: Hold him for the long run and get Fyfe in later

    36

    8
  9. Trade Long to Willio via Brander so Brander into my fwds on field and Brayshaw to Petrraca

This will give me 211K still on bench.

    7

    1
  10. I’m seriously considering trading Pittonet into R3… (already have Grawndy).

Whilst he may not scoring, his price appreciation potential surely can’t be overlooked now…

    7

    26
  11. Sauce to Pitto last week thankfully enables me to go:

    Houston > Lloyd

Eagerly awaiting team sheets on Thursday to see what the situation is regarding Dusty/Whitfield/Essendon players.

  12. Is too early to trade either one of Danger/Bont? Both have been very disappointing and are not firing like I need them to, was thinking trading one of them to Simpkin and banking the extra cash.

TU – Trade one of them before they drop too much in value
TD – Calm down, they’re bonafide premos and will come good

    11

    28
    1. Morning, TT.

I’d keep Bont, just had a slow start and then copped De Boer. He’ll come good.

Danger, on the other hand, could be worth trading out. He’s getting parked up FWD too much, not going to be able to keep pace with the other MID premos.

      13

      5
      1. Yeah was leaning towards this as well, but surely Geelong put him in the middle after losing to Carlton. I had very high hopes for Danger this season, was thinking he could be a 120+ average mid premo and a POD. It’s a tough call.

        4

        1
        1. Im trading Dangerfield “in” this week, as he is dam cheap and should return to premium scores. He probably wont make his BE but it if definitely reachable (144). He had some down games last year too but still went ok overall

          5

          13
  13. With limited ways of making cash from too many unreliable cash cows. Apart from Rowell and starsvich) would it be worth going Naismith to pittonett. He will be in the bench purely to generate cash. Up against bombers?? Then saints this

    3

    4
    1. I opted to hold Naismith one more week. If he misses, then he will be moved to Pitto otherwise happy to get the cash Naismith will make from here on out.

      6

      0
    2. I’m running both, Darcy Cameron shifted forward. Don’t like Cameron’s long term security and Naismith is too injury prone to rely on solo.

But he will score well and cash up well.

  14. trading out nic nat to pittonet
de goey to bennel via budarick
frees up 600k in the kitty to bring in 2 premos next week , thoughts ?

    13

    16
  15. Am I crazy for thinking anybody who doesn’t have Gawn + Grundy should seriously consider bringing in Pittonet at R2 even with his price rise? Pitt is still only $320K, has a breakeven of -90 (!), and just pumped out two games of 130+. He’s looking like this seasons R.O’Brien. At this rate if Pitt can average 90 or more, which seems likely as tap ruckman who get CP + clearances seem to be absolutely dominating SC, Pittonet will be worth more than 450K soon enough. You’d take 150-200K profit off a rookie every day of the week and the fact he’s pumping out 100+ scores is the icing on the cake.

    18

    4
    1. I’m considering because of that lack of rookies coming through. I don’t think I can bring myself to trade either of them. Both top 5 sc scorers and C option every week

      3

      0
    2. Brought in last week. I did say he was a lock when Kreuz went down, but waited to watch.

Why Hawthorn let him go and hung onto Ceglar and traded in Patton is a mystery

      2

      1
  16. Haynes and Butler seem to be hanging around the edges, scoring OK at the moment for their price, might be worth a look as POD’s

    3

    0
  17. Call me crazy but am thinking titch down to sympkin and then Cameron to pittonet for the huge cash generation

    TU lock it in
TD you’re crazy wasting that cash on r3

    7

    23
  18. Whitfield to Simpkin
    Danger to Neale
    Tu good idea
Td the horse has bolted on Neale and wait and hope his price comes down

    6

    26
  19. Thoughts on:

    Whitfield/Kelly to Simpkin
    Long to Petracca

Depends on team selection for the first trade

Given the mystery surrounding the Ess v Melb match is it worth loading up on players from those 2 team

    13

    0
  20. Where is everyone at with Marlion Pickett?

I think he’s one more game away from plateauing in price. BE is already at 28, compared to alot of other cash cows who are still in single digits or in the negatives. If he gets a 40-50 this week that’s just about as much as he’ll go up, and don’t think he’s good enough to start belting out 75+ consistently.

Might be a good time to get rid of him, downgrade to a cash cow POD who will generate more value and bank the extra cash. Thoughts?

    8

    2
    1. Not yet unless he is dropped. Saying that, and as a last option if no1 else is available to trade, I wouldnt discourage any trades this year that would help you get ahead

      7

      0
  21. Anyone like the looks of Dan Butler? Looks to be playing as a genuine 75% mid 25% forward …

    13

    8
    1. Gold Coast have got to come out of Queensland soon you would think, how will they go say in Melbourne for the last half of the season. They are playing good footy at the moment and got a few up and coming playing worth considering and at good SC prices.

      4

      1
  22. i have saad in the backline – assuming he won’t play even if the ess/carl game does go ahead, do i just bench him or trade him now?

and i have houston to get rid of as well – sigh, need another round where i have 5 trades

    5

    1
  23. thoughts on Trent McKenzie people? Was always in the back of my mind at the start of the season, playing a real nice role in the PA defence atm. Maybe a downgrade from houston the way to go? Or save up and upgrade Houston?

    2

    13
    1. Has the ability to score two hundreds and then disappear to obscurity for 3 months.

      Avoid.

  24. Don’t want to trade Whitfeild but he’s just going to plummet in price with a BE of 202.

    Thinking this week:
    OUT: Houston, Whitfield
    IN: Lloyd, Doedee (via Brander)

    Thoughts on that?

    3

    18
    1. I would be happy taking Whitfield’s price drop to save a trade, unless he is out for two weeks that may change my mind. He is still in the top few as far as Fwd/Mid DPP positions.

      13

      0
    2. Whitfield will still be a top forward from here on out so you will eventually want him back. If he lines up, use the trade to improve your team elsewhere.

  25. When you think you have your trades set out, the news tends to break.

    JOSH DUNKLEY

According to Mitch Cleary, Josh Dunkley is facing at least two weeks on the sidelines with a syndesmosis injury. Although injuries of this nature can keep players away for up to 2 months, the Dogs are hopeful they can manage his injury over a few weeks.

    5

    0
  26. Not a Dunkley owner but curious for those who are

TU must trade can’t afford to waste that cash on the pine for minimum 2 weeks possibly longer
TD waste of trade and just hold

    34

    0
  27. Thoughts on the below trades. Feel like Jacobs could cop a bath from Grundy Friday night and Pittonet could be the quicker stepping stone to Gawn. Would leave me with 270k in the bank to upgrade Long>Petracca next week

    Dunkely>Simpkin
    Jacobs> Pittonet

    TU: Go for it
    TD: Reassess

    30

    1. I was thinking the same trade for myself. Really depends on what happens with the Essendon v Carlton game this week. If it get’s postponed, what do you do?

      4

      0
  28. Thinking of trading NicNat for Pittonet, to generate some cash now and make some in next few weeks too.
    TU do it!
TD dont be silly, NicNat is building to more game time

    1

    27
  29. Soooooo..nothing from SC HQ regarding the postponed match and the ramifications of that in terms of trades? Those of us who 4,5,6,7 Bombers and D’s player are just going to have to trade them out round by round and/or trade in and out our rookies who play for those teams??

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not having a rant, but some clarity is needed. I’ve got 6 players who were deemed DNP this week. What do I do? Do I side trade? Do I upgrade? Do I downgrade??

I understand the SC hierarchy needed to make a decision. On my end, that decision sucked and cost me almost every league game I was in. I’m happy to cop the fallout for a very unpredictable situation, but the SC Gods need to be forthcoming with information.

It’s a two way street. I scratch your back, playing your game and promoting your brand…..you need to scratch my back and give clear and detailed information on how your decision is going to be negated or negotiated moving forward.

    13

    7
    1. I guess SC HQ can only give info once they have something from the AFL, that will be tomorrow after Vic DHHS findings

      8

  30. Thinking outside the box to catch up in the rankings. This is my current side:
Def: Howe Sicily Doc Houston Doedee Starcevich (Rivers Gould)
Mid: Cripps Mitchell Prestia Viney Rowell Brown Budarick Bennell (Mcinerney Pickett Robertson)
    Ruck: Grundy Gawn (D Cameron)
Fwd: Whitfield Petracca Wingard Ceglar D Smith Brander (Max King Georgiades)

TU: Grundy to Pittonet And Houston to Neale or Fyfe through dpp
TD: Houston to Haynes Whitfield to Haynes

Comment: You’re crazy find other trades both are too drastic

    2

    11
    1. Mate I reckon your rucks are locked, a lot of us aiming to get both. I think youre a premium MID shy, Neale or Fyfe, and yes Houston has a problem, but the rest of your DEF is good. You dont list your bank balance but with your rookies you should be in a good position $wise in a few weeks time for premiun FWD upgrade, and mid season upgrades too, if we get there

      3

      1. Currently have 55k in the bank. Feeling good about the general set up and plan ive got with my team but not sure how to take steps forwards now without hindering the long term plan.

  32. Earlier this arvo I posted a suggested trade of:

    Whitfield/Kelly to Simpkin
    Long to Petracca

However, given Dunkley is out for a while my thoughts are:

    Long to Simpkin
Dunkley to Clayton (the ginger ninja) Oliver.

In my thoughts also are Petracca instead of Oliver and bank an extra $120K
Don’t have enough to get > Fyfe (probably overpriced now anyway).

    Coaches thoughts??

    5

    4
  33. Thoughts on Maynard as a pod for Houston

TU Solid pod love his role and consistency
TD just had a couple of good games not worth the risk. Am i just chasing points?

    13

    8
  34. What a mess!!! Went from feeling good about my team after round 2, to having to work out what to do about Dunkley, Jelly, Whitfield. Was originally planning to do a one up/one down this week with Bewley and Long to one of Bailey Smith, Petracca or Sympkin and a bottom price rookie like Rankine. But Bewley’s score over the weekend means I should hold him another week or so to earn a bit more. Now thinking one of the following has to happen.

T/U Dunkley & Long to 2 of Smith, Petracca, Simpkin or someone in that price range. Which would leave $42K in the bank.

    or

T/D (Nuclear Option) – Dunkley & Whitfield to either one of the above primo, or 2 of the above and leave $240K in the bank to get funky with Long & Bewley next week.

    or just delete my team.

    8

    2
  35. Is it too late to bring in Neale @ his current price?

Tu: Grab him before he goes up more

    Td: Too expensive

    6

    23
  36. I have 80k in the bank so I need another 50k to get Dunkley to Neale

    Out: Dunkley, Noble
In: Neale, Williamson (only Def rookie I can find who I don’t have currently apart from crows rookies I don’t trust)

    TU: Good trade
    TD: wait on Neale

    2

    15
  37. what do i do with danger
    Tu- keep him
    td-trade him
have 90k in the bank so if td let me know who i should get

    14

    4
    1. Simpkin.

If you have him already, then maybe Macrae or Bont?

Decent discounts, higher scoring potential, and no significant structural changes.

      1

      0
  38. Dunkley now unfortunately has to go:
Boak is looking real good, and consistently performing since the middle of last year:

T/U: Yes, Boak will be top 10 mid this year.
T/D: Naah, is a flash in a pan – get someone else!

    10

    8
  39. Dunkley has joined my trade Josh Kelly plans.
Think im going to have to keep Whitfield long term, the forward line is a mess after Sturt and Cameron’s efforts on the weekend.

    Dunkley > Fyfe

    TU: J.Kelly > O’meara +$95k
    TD: J.Kelly > Boak-straight swap

Other mids include Titch, Oliver, Cripps

    Comment: Gaff instead of Boak.

    0

    8
    1. Edit: One more idea added.

      TU: Gaff instead of Boak
TD: Keep Josh Kelly – trade Whitfield to Simpkin for cash grab.

      12

      3

    1. So surely they play dees tomorrow night, and blues Sunday. Thats the fairest thing for all and especially those here at SC. Reckon the key to so few confined, is the 15 minute rule as per the app.

  42. With he news of dunkley, and trying to be conservative with money this season, do I go an in form player like boak/gaff/sidebottom?
Or do u keep in mind the double game for dees/dons and go merrett or Oliver?

    1

    0
      1. It’s a very real possibility they will award double SC points, although there are some certain ramifications with pricing and breakevens.

We will need to wait and hear how they plan to tackle it later this season.

        1

        0
        1. In Soccer Fantasy –
teams sometimes play twice in a week (round). In these cases both scores from the teams playing twice are included in the fantasy coaches’ score for that round. However the two games are treated separately for calculating price changes and averages, that is 2 games = 2 games. The players of the teams playing twice are locked once their first game commences.

          5

          0
          1. Soccer Fantasy (EPL at least) prices are based on net transfers in/out each day and not score based so SCHQ would need to consider breakevens.

If Gawn scores 300 in a double game week and his BE is 100, does he rise $91k?

Or they could treat the price changes as two separate game weeks (i.e. Scores 150, rises $22k and has a new BE of 80 and then rises $31k after another 150 points. It could be quite complex though.

            1

            0
            1. I play EPL dream team & A-League dream team in Sportsdeck. They are score based prices with similar logic to SC.
If Gawn had 2 games in a round then his two scores would be treated as 2 separate games. Similarly if Gawn plays 1 game and misses the other game then he scores in one game and DNP in the other. Averages and BEs are based on games played. The updated price and ave would occur AFTER the completion of the entire round. Note that he can not be traded in or out after the lockout time for Melbourne’s first game.

              2

              0
          2. Soccer is a non-contact sport, less risk of injuries.
You can compare soccer to basketball, but not to AFL.

            2

            1
            1. Is Chameleon Joking or missing context?
In case the latter, we are talking about SC’s treatment of extra game.
AFL will decide if teams play more than game in a round. SC needs to decide how to deal with it.
I would expect that SC would find it more palatable to adjust Gawn’s price and average by treating his 2 games as 2 games instead of 1 game and a monster score.

  43. Help me out here team

TU Dunkley and Jacobs out, Fyfe and Pittonet in, $170K in the bank

    OR

TD Dunkley and Taylor out, Simpkin and Bailey Smith in, $6K in the bank

    40

    3
    1. Fyfe and Pittonet will net you way more points, give you more cash to spend sooner, and make more money over the long run. TU by a mile.

      16

      1
    2. Chillo, I will go the second option because from now on ,since we have no byes, any player coming to the team have to stay to the end hopefully. And they can both since Gawndy in R1 and R2 is set. Cash generation is good but you don’t want to run out of trades. That’s my opinion

      1

      1
  44. I’ve got 6 premo mids so I’ll use the Dunkley injury to add in an extra premo FWD and bank some cash. Who to trade for Dunks:

    TU – Simpkin
    TD – Petracca (possible DGW??)

    Comment: Go for Oliver

    11

    14
  45. Trade, thoughts?

Cogs>Macrae (because he’s cheap at the moment and with Dunkley out he should score well)

    Noble>Doedee (big potential)

What is your cash situation like (how much in your salary cap?)

  48. Sorry but I just want to know. When rookies make money you guys say you want to trade them how do u trade them. Do you do a sideways trade to someone at the same price or downgrade to a 102k player than upgrade another player. Sorry I am a bit of a rookie at this. Please help.

    0

    0
    1. There are various different strategies, but when a rookies looks to have maxed out in it’s cash generation, you either typically trade up to a premium or down to a new rookie on the bubble.

In peak “upgrading season” – I usually try and trade 2 rookies out each week and the cash I make of one goes to upgrading another.

If there are two really good rookies about to go up in one week, then it’s not unusual to downgrade two rookies and create a “war chest” to double upgrade in a week where there are no good rookies about to go up in price.

      7

      0
    2. Downgrade to another rookie that can hopefully play and make coin.

Wait til the rookie you’re trading out is near their highest price preferably

      1

  49. Thanks Huttabito. I am just wondering though, when you downgrade your rookies when they are not gonna generate cash anymore do you downgrade to a 102k player and just put him on the bench or do you downgrade to someone that is going to play.
Also when you upgrade who are you upgrading another rookie that is around 300k or a 450k mid premo???
    Thanks in advance

    1

    1. Two rookies out to buy one premo and one rookie.

And if you can generate cash, then you try and do so whenever possible.

  50. thinking of going martin to simpkin and whitfield to pittonet via dpp
or to get pittonet, downgrade jacobs and keep whitfield or martin. bottom line, really want simpkin in the side, he’s looking good.

  52. Hi,
Can someone explain succinctly the whole ESS-Dees scoring compensation.
    SuperCoach said,
“Those coaches will be somewhat compensated when the Bombers-Demons fixture is factored into another round”

I got caught out last week with 4 Dees 1 bomber, as I had already done my trades.
Just wondering how it will help me?
Apart from not needing to trade them in, what my advantage?

Any comments from the collective coaching brains trust would be very much appreciated.

    6

    2
    1. No advantage Smurf. Once AFL schedules the Ess/Dees match again, teams will just load up with those players to get double points while I got 7 zeros from last round.

      9

      2
    2. The scores from the delayed Melbs/Bombers game will be counted as extra scores in an upcoming round, so you’ll essentially get two scores for each of your Melbourne and Essendon players during that round. Which means if you throw the captain on Gawn, and he scores 150 and 130, your captain score for that week would be (150 + 130) * 2 = 560 points.

      2

      2
      1. If this is the case, shouldn’t we load up on “premium” Essendon and Melbourne players? eg Merett, Shiel, Oliver, Petracca

Not including Gawn and Smith as most have them

        6

        0
        1. Is it actually confirmed that Dees and Dons players can score in 2 games in one round? Or is this just what we expect/hope? If so that will def dominate all trading decisions until the extra game.

          2

          3
          1. I would have thought they just won’t give any SC points for the dees and dons game. Whatever they do, one thing for sure is it will not please everyone.

            2

            3
      2. Thanks for the insight.
        Much appreciated.

I have Gawn,Petracca,Rivers, Bennell and dev Smith.
I actually used my 2nd trade and traded out Oliver to Neale, to use as my capt,
Figuring Gawn and co wouldn’t get any points.
Probably not the smartest move, but had to do something, had to take Whitfield’s and Sturt score and still rustled up 1965 points.

I normally don’t load up on one side, and the one time I do look what happened

        3

        2
      3. What scores from the delayed game bAps ?
are you saying that : if/when they finally play, this game it will Not be scored straight up , that no SC scores will be added Until these two teams play in their respective fixtured games the week after !? or have I seriously missed something !?

        0

        2
        1. The way I’m hearing it will play out, Ess/Dees will play a midweek game then play a late weekend game against different opponents. But their two games will be added together for that round. Eg Merrett gets 110 against Dees, then second game gets 99. His total for the round will be 209.
Well that’s how I think it will play out.

Pays to load up on Ess/Dees players for a overall rating boost prior to that round.

          3

          0
          1. So with these possibilites that Ess/Melb players are getting 2 scores in the one round, and with Whitfields BE of 202…

Whitfield > Devon Smith and 160k in the bank is a good idea?

            4

            1
    3. My interpretation is that they will just count the higher of their two scores, rather than count both…

  66. There are three eternal lessons from last week:

    1. Diversify your playing roster. A very poor Team game or the flu going through the team also will materially impacted if you have all your eggs in the same basket;
    2. Delay trades as long as possible to account for last minute carnage.;
    3. Playing rookies on the bench with an E on them are useful. Too many non playing rookies hurt at times.

Now I know last week was extraordinary- but some simple hedging strategies help in this strange and game that is always in a state of flux.

    8

    1
    1. Great points!
A key question is how “extraordinary” is last week going to be in hindsight. We might get 3-5 of them over the season? Who knows?

The tips you listed are a great way to try and mitagate the unknown.

  67. G’day lads hope we are well. Now normally I’d never dream of trading my premos but in a season like this where cash generation is key I’m contemplating it.

    Here’s my options:

TU: Trade Whitfield to H. Greenwood and Bont to Simpkin or Bazlenka for cash gen

TD: Hold both don’t be stupid, stick to your guns and keep your premos.

Bont has been severely underperforming but could the injury of Dunks accelerate his scoring

I have Fyfe, McRae, Oliver and Cripps and I was thinking maybe going to Taylor Adams as a POD. He has started the season very well.

    TU: Do it

    1. Hi Cougar, The Eagles are heading back west. He will have a change in fortunes. That should be the least of your worries at this point. Give him few more rounds. He had his shoulder strapped in training this week so he is probably playing injured. As father Dougal says, most players always go back to their natural average. The price drop will only Hurt you if you sell now. I would hold.

      5

      0
    2. Hey, Cougar.

I’d hold strong with Yeo. Eagles been stuck up in Queensland, where we play abhorrently. Think once Yeo and the Eagles get back to the Perth they’ll be fine.

The only scenario in which I think you could justify sideways trading Yeo would be if you were bringing in Neale. Other than that, hold.

      6

  71. Dunkley -> Fyfe?

Fyfe playing real well, will he hold the form tho? He plays Gold Coast and Adelaide next 2 weeks so should go huge. Even VC option and captain Neale next day (Adelaide) for this round. Grundy playing GWS (Jacobs) so never know, Fyfe more reliable to score more against Gold Coast.

Is there a better option for Dunkley trade out tho?

  75. In the likely event that Naismith misses again, thinking of trading him out. I do have Cameron & Ceglar as R3/F swing, so could potentially bring Ceglar in as R2, but really wanted to hold him in the forwards.

    So, trading Naismith & Dunkley…

TU: Dunkley -> Bennell & Naismith to Gawn
TD: Dunkley -> Bennell & Naismith to Goldstein + 20K

I’ve rocked Goldy as R2 the last couple of years and he’s looking solid. Bennell is a risk but now he’s on the park one worth taking I think, with the hope that at minimum he generates some cash and maximum he performs well enough to be M8 by the end of the year.

  77. Cant find a decent discussion anywhere about bringing in the actual fallen premiums. Do we really expect Danger, Bont and Tmitch to score 90 odd all year? It’s been three matches and I’m honestly doing my first upgrade to Bont. Think too many people are chasing top scoring premiums and a bunch of shady midpricers

    4

    1
    1. Hey Ben,
I have Titch and I am not confident with him this year so I have traded him out to Simpkin. I had the money to upgrade to Boak but I wanted to save cash. Titch will mostly likely become better throughout the year but Simpkin I think is the better choice. Bont copped a couple of tags in the start for this year and with Dunkley out I believe he will score better. Danger I’m not sure about he might even out throughout the year but there are better options I think.

  85. Thoughts on Trading Grundy to Pittonet?
Might seem crazy but it will free up 400k from the trade, plus Pitt is projected to make another 150-200k with Grundy about to loose approx 30-50k.
It also helps that Pitt is scoring well currently and Grundy is sore which is effecting his output.

Current DEF line is Sicily, Docherty, Houston, Doedee, Starc, Brander, Noble, Rivers.
Need to get rid of Houston this week, however wanted to ideally bring in a keeper for around 500K. This would provide 100K in the bank moving into next week.

  91. I was just wondering when you say for example ‘Trading Long to Williamson’ via Brander what does that mean???

    0

    0
    1. In the example you cite the goal is to trade out a forward and bring in a defender so:
Long is listed as a Forward only
      Williamson as a defender only.
Brander is a Forward/Defender so he can be deployed on either line.

trade Long out (From the forward line)
switch Brander from Defence to the forward line (filling the space left by Long)
Trading in Willamson into the defence, filling the space left by Brander

Just in case you didn’t know once you trade a player out, you can swap players from other lines to that vacant spot if they have dpp.

Wait until teams are named for rookies, but ideally you would like to trade out Green/Jamieson/Frampton/Sturt for playing rookies. (Starcevich if you can afford, vandermeer, pittonet before he rises exponentially or anyone else that might be coming in this week)
If you have the coin, a trade from narkle to Merrett/Simpkin/maybe Perryman if you’re extra bold, could right your midfield ship.

  101. Require your urgent help please!
Need to offload Dunkley & preferably Noble:

T/U: Dunkley to Waters & Noble to Doedee
T/D: Dunkley to Macrae & Save a trade and keep Noble.

I already have Fyfe and Neale. Also have Whitfield, but I’m staying put with him unless he’s not named tonight!
    Thanks!!

  103. Trading in one of these, who would you prefer:

TU: Bewley Av 80 BE 34, $312,700 OR
    TD: Butler Av 102 BE -42, $344,500

Don’t know much about either but need to fill a hold in my forward line. Thinking Bewley might be the safer bet, coming from COVID free hub of WA?

  104. TU
    Sturt to Simpkin
    Noble to Williamson

    TD
Whitfield -> Fyfe via Dusty DPP
Sturt to Williamson via Brander DPP

Thoughts? Currently leaning to option 1.

  105. I made a massive error and forgot to trade out Dunkley before I started footy training tonight. Bennell and Pickett being dropped also are forcing my hand. It’s either play a rookie on field instead on Dunkley or trade Pickett into a decent Mid.

TU Houston and Pickett to Doedee and Sympkin/viney
TD Houston and Pickett to Hamil and Fyfe. If I go this option then Noble will be onfield.

Comment – take a rookie score in the Mid trade Houston to premo Def and go Dunkley to Premo mid next week.

I’m currently well in the top 10% so this could change my season

  106. Getting twitchy and starting to like the idea more and more of punting Grundy which will allow Pittonet to move from R3 to R2. Combined with punting Long it’d give me 1 million to spend on say a Petracca and Simpkin or a Fyfe and Butler.

Almost hoping Grundy doesn’t make the final teams tonight to force my hand.

    1. Not entirely crazy if Pittonet can continue his 130+ avg. I am actually considering straight trading Grundy to Pittonet. That extra $400k would really help to get some early upgrades happening.

Thoughts on my 2 trade options would be valued:

    Fwd
OUT: Whitfield (BE200, avoid 70-100k drop in 2rds)….IN: Simpkin 483k (form, more $$upside), Whitfield back once $bottoms n form
OUT: B.Long (BE87 unlikely, post rd1 cash grab stalled after rd2/3 bombs)…… IN: Petracca 470k (form and $$upside)
    134K left

    or
OUT: Whitfield 538k for 1 of above
OUT: LONG 325k move Brander fwd …IN: Doedee 294k (rd1 scare wiped out by rd2, 80-100pts n $$upside, locked job security)
or IN: Rivers 117k (good game rd1, $$upside)
    310-500k

  108. There should be a law stating you can only trade out players not in your best 18. (injuries/ non selections excluded of course)
What do you reckon guys????? LOL

  109. Abbreviation of above post:

TU: Whitfield to Simpkin, Long to Doedee/Rivers
TD: Whitfield to Simpkin, Long to Petracca, missing Doedee/River rise

    1. Mate – you have to go with your gut – especially this year as all ‘normal’ (is there such a thing?) rules of SC are out the door.

Essentially look at how many trades you have left, how many premos you currently have and whether or not you think you have enough trades to get back to full premo – at best, you need 1 up 1 down to get a premo in … probably more as rooks won’t grow as much this year.

If you think you have enough to lose Whitfield and get 22 premos back on field towards then end … then trade him out. If not, hold him … as, barring injury, he should be a premo scorer in your Fwds and its irrelevant what his price change / BE’s are …

Simpkin also moved to FWD line on team chart … but take that with a grain of salt (though Cunnington named too I think which may impact) … if he stays playing the way he has thus far (or should I say being scored by CD??) then he’s a premo

      Good luck!

      1. I usually do my thing via the trusty gut. Haven’t been on here for ages so throwing out my thoughts to see what others think.

Other alternate to about options of ‘sell now, buy low’ with Whitfield in a few weeks, I’m considering, like keeping Dusty last week with his short niggle, holding on to Whitfield, ignoring his 70-100k $drop n hoping he doesn’t get injured in 2-3wks for a big burn …… and instead pissing B/Long off as my fraughted post rd2 projected price rise 47,51 and now BE87 for Simpkin.

Also leaning to Rivers over Doedee as stronger $$rise over next 2wks, not so in points though.
This year cash rise and falls are more critical with the shorter season and trades are more prevalent at this time of year. Full premo harder n unlikely.
        Waiting for Friday teams

  111. what forward rookie should I bring in? Cameron, Berry and Sturt all not playing so need to trade one of them

    T/up – Pickett (Melbourne)

T/down – Mahony or Xerri from North
