Under-performing premiums?  Struggling rookies?  Simple rage trade?  Or have you got a master plan?  Could you let us in on it?

  1. Traded out Hibberd to Shaw, hoping to maybe bring back Hibberd when his price is gone down. Shaw’s price will go up but both underperformed. Stuck between 2 brick walls… tips?

    1. Stick to your plan. Shaw will be ok and Hibberd will be cheap soon. Most premiums have an off week occasionally.

      1. Agreed. Hibberd really struggled early, and still only managed 18 disposals. Only scored 68 AFL Fantasy points, and TBH, can’t see how he justified a 92 Supercoach score.

Converesly, Shaw was 82 AFL Fantasy / 69 Supercoach. Had some good patches and bad patches, a bit inefficient but definitely shouldn’t feel like a bad trade.

      1. Tim Kelly not Josh. I think a better trade will be Walters for either Banfield or Fritsch. Trade a premo in for a slow burner

            1. Walters got his hand stood on towards the end of the game and left the field.
Have not heard if there what the damage is though (if any)

  2. Concerned with Zorko. Worth a sideways trade or leave him be? I have 60k in the bank so I can sideways trade him to most mids, even after his price drop.

    T/U: Trade him!

T/D: Leave him, he’ll come good.

    14

    1. Considering trading a premium that’s averaging 98.5 in his last 2 rounds? No way. Zorko was always going to throw up a stinker here or there, just as he’ll eventually throw in a 150+ somewhere. It just sucks that you copped the stinker early.

He was always a risky prospect to start with, but you’ve got him, so hold him.

      1. Same here, but like most that have suffered serious concussion, they still take a good 4-5 weeks to come good aiming at rnd 7-8 for him depending on how his bye sits within my team.

    1. Whilst I like the idea of opening up the D/M link, that seems like a massive waste of a trade. Savage will NOT continue to average 103 for the rest of the year, and for that amount of money, I’d rather see Coniglio brought in, or possibly create a F/M link with someone like McLean.

  3. Considering trading my non playing d8 for Richards from the Dogs. Has gone 49 and 81 and looked great today. Ball will be down back a lot for them and he has a decent JS i believe after this performance. Naughton i feel will go before him if any are dropped

    15

    4
    1. Richards was very good today, but beware that he is in because Crozier is injured and due back soon.

I think Naughton is safer, despite his lower scores, because he’s a KPD. He’d be competing with Marcus Adams, who is on the long term injury list.

      1. Thanks for the info! Doesnt seem like he is bad for SC but the job security is always an issue. Will have to keep an eye out this week to see if anything comes up with him and his security.

      2. And the Bombers where woefull. Kick and hope forward will give defenders big scores look at freo’s defenders last week v bombers

  4. What is the washup of Hibberd debate ? If you DPP to Coniglio , good luck, if you swapped to another defender ???

    1. I held – reasonably happy. Some went to Simpson, I reckon they’re happy too. Anyone who went to Savage is very happy!

There’s not many other safe choices at the back this year.

    2. Went to Old man Simpson down back. He did pretty well for me and was the best out of the options I was looking at.

    3. I held, pretty happy with the 92. Bit closer to what we would expect. This means he stays in my team…for now

    1. Only had 3 possessions in the F50 against the Lions, but he’s definitely spending a lot of time resting forward. Expect him to move into the mids more as he gains match fitness.

      1. Played heavily midfield against the swans including 18 centre bounces (second most behind wines) according to fantasy freako.

  5. Time to get rid of Billings considering how poor the Saints are going, I think.

If Ryan is going to be more than a week I am also down one forward with no one on the bench.

Perhaps a two trade week (also getting rid of Forgarty).

Thoughts? Not sure if I’ll have enough money, but thinking someone like Devon Smith plus someone else cheap.

    2

    15
    1. 1. You’re trading out a guy who’s averaging only 5 pts less than what you paid for him.
      2. As they say a week is a long time in footy, just look at the Dogs this round there’s no reason why the Saints can’t improve
      3. Trading Dahlhaus was a popular move last week and he just smashed out a 110.

      29

      1
          1. I have this same conversation with my mate every season, he’ll always complain about the b/e of his premiums and whether he should trade them out or not…. I actually yell at him everytime he brings it up now lol, and tell him to stop checking the b/e of his premiums (they don’t matter, and neither does price unless a player gets injured)

            17

            0
    2. Do NOT trade Billings out. All that will happen is come round 17, you’ll be complaining that you’ve run out of trades

      17

  6. Is Jesse Hogan the real deal or a trap? Did seem to spend a lot of time up the ground on the weekend

    TU: Real deal
    TD:Trap

    1. The guy has averaged 110 the last 2 seasons, he’s had a poor start but one would assume the scoring ramps up sooner rather than later.

      10

      2
      1. I’m Worried that he’ll get tagged more often, as he’s copped a heavy tag over the last two weeks, and bombers have been poor

        3

        1
    2. Put it this way, the fact that a lot of non-Merrett owners are getting excited about the prospect of bringing him in at a cheaper price means that they still believe he will start to score well again soon. As such, the time to trade him was BEFORE he lost $86,000!!! Now, he’s an unfortunate hold.

      16

      0
      1. Yep I held him last week and I regret not sideways trading him to Titch. I think the head knocks/the concussion affected his performance last week (his facial expressions seemed to show him in pain). Definitely can’t trade him now and pretty confident he will come good eventually (might take a couple more games). At this stage even if he averages 110 for the rest of the year he will only finish up averaging 102.5 so for the most part I already just feel full of regret for this failed pick.

        2

        0
    1. Im done with him. Thinking of moving finlayson into mids and bringing in ed richards.
That or wait one more week for higgins

      1

      3
      1. Higgins will probably get dropped next week. There are a lot of ins next week, especially if Prestia is fit.

        2

        2
        1. I doubt he will get dropped next week, he kicked 2 good goals and applied a lot of the Richmond small forward pressure. I think he’s done enough to keep a spot. Conca is more likely to get dropped before him, and rioli is still a few weeks away so he should keep his spot, for now.

          4

          1
    2. It might be best to wait a week and see if any more good MID rookies score well in their 2nd game. His B/E is only 88, so he shouldn’t lose too much cash next week.

  7. I’m just putting in all my premiums who lost money, wondering who or if u should trade

    Sorry for the comments

    TU- trade Zorko
    TD-trade J Kelly

  8. I regret not picking Coniglio. I have Titch, J.Kelly, Fyfe and Cripps as gun mids. Dusty or Danger to join them. Is Coniglio a must have?

    32

    11
    1. Coniglio is still under $500k, so yes, at least for 1 more week, he’s still a must-have.

Dangerfield can definitely wait, but it would also be ideal to try to get Martin in ASAP (having only 1 of the ‘big 3’ could cause you issues).

      6

      0
        1. Don’t get too excited about Dangerfield’s supposed ‘drastic’ price drop. If he averages 120 from now on (not a stretch at all), he’ll only drop to about $660k-$665k by R7, and about $650k by R10.

Yes, it’s a decent drop, but it still puts him at a very expensive price to be able to do a ‘1 up, 1 down’ rookie trade, unless you’re using a stepping stone to get there, and:

          – Armitage don’t seem like they’ll be of much help (O’Meara maybe)
          – Coniglio is now more likely to be a keeper

    1. Maybe after next week depending on score. He was used as a shutdown player this week. hopefully not next week.

      2

      4
    2. Even more so for Rayner who barely broke even.

But Brayshaw and LDU carry their shockers for 2 more weeks.

    3. his BE is still low enough (33 I think) to hold on another week for a bit more cash generation. Then flog him 😉

  10. I feel like I’m burning through trades too early in the season… but, here is my predicament.

Billings looks bad over the last two weeks; Saints worse. Tough schedule over the next 5 rounds as well. Cannot see them pulling out of their funk. Plus, Jack Graham is sitting on my bench (behind Holman and TKelly) about to lose money.

    Bank: $25.3k
    Trades: 26 left

    T/u: Billings/Graham into Buddy/JHiggins, $102k in the Bank & 24 Trades
    T/d: Hold tight
    Comment: Other sage advice

    1. Not Higgins. Look for better job security.

With Geelong’s injury dramas they have some tasty rookies on the bubble this week, especially in the forwards.

Will depend on how long Guthrie and Ablett are out for.

      4

      0
    2. Mike, how many of the 4 trades you’ve made were due to injury?
Unless it’s 2 or more, you need to hold.

How many keepers do you have in your team?
If it’s less than 14-15, you need to hold.

      2

      0
      1. Back your premiums. People have such short memories… Billings scores 133 one week, 2 weeks later needs to be traded out? Why?

        26

        0
          1. His schedule didn’t change from the pre-season. If you thought that would be a factor, why did you pick him?

Back him in, you can’t keep trading premo’s if you want to end up with a full team by SC finals.

      2. If this is your first trade, then definitely consider making it. Well done on getting everything else right.

No idea on who you could trade to unless we know how much money you have to play with (and who else you already have in the FWD line).

        3

    1. thinking of doing the same with my only trade for the week. He looked very good yesterday, certainly handled the speed and physical side for a young lad.
but hard to tell if it could be a one off due to the bombers poor skill levels contributing.

      1

      0
      1. Bit of both I reckon. But now that he has a really good breakeven that should result in two decent price rises I think he should be a pretty good selection. He Looked really good in juniors ability and skill wise(check his highlights), the problem was that he wasn’t able to find that much of the ball and he didn’t play in the u/18 champs. Brayshaw on the other hand looked good in JLT but has looked unworthy of his price tag since the season started. He could turn it around but 61% game time is another worry.

  12. I’m a strong believer of holding premiums, but Zerrett seems to be affected heavily by the head knocks he’s gotten. 50k in the bank and 30 trades, so is it worth getting someone like Hunter/Lyons or someone better via Brayshaw->Richards, or just stick with him?

    T/D: Trade
    T/U: Keep

    8

    15
    1. Lyons looks very good, has cash growth and a very definite POD.

Other than that you could look at a fallen premo who had a shocker in round 1 so that they will bounce back up immediately.

Zorko comes to mind immediately, but there is probably a better option, or one who is on the bubble due to suspension like Gray.

      2

      1. I agree with HH plus suggest you consider Coniglio if you do not have him.

Also consider back and fwd guns who are a little chapter such as Gray, McLean, Menegolo (risky), Simpson, Hurley, Heeny, etc. I am sure you have some of these already.

        0

        0
    2. For $564k (Merrett @ $514k + $50k in the bank), I’d much prefer one of Coniglio, Parker or Cripps.

      4

      0
        1. ?????

Both Parker and Cripps only went up about $5k this week. In what universe are they now all of a sudden ‘not worth it’?

They were both VERY HIGH on people’s radars before R1, and they should still be after they’ve both started with 112 averages. Yes, Coniglio is performing better at a lower price, and yes, you’d probably consider him over the other 2, but if you already had Coniglio, the other 2 should be VERY HIGH on your list.

          2

          2
  13. I don’t understand why so many people want to rage trade their premiums?!

Remember when people wanted to trade Nat Fyfe after scoring 75 in Round 1? Backed it up with a lazy 120 and 160!

    13

    3
    1. Cause that’s the point of rage trading! After round 1 I had traded out Michael Walters…

Of course by the time round 2 had started, Walters was safely back on my team.

      13

      0
    2. It’s all bluster. Fyfe’s ownership statistics have actually gone UP since the start of the season:

      – Season ownership since start of season = +0.7% (up from 51.8% to 52.5%).

From a ‘premium’ perspective, Hibberd is the most obvious non-injury trade out, -5.7% from 27.5% to 21.8%, followed by Rockliff (-3.0% from 4.9% to 1.9%).

      1

      0
  14. Have $250k to splash and need to bolster my team ahead of an important matchup.

Thoughts on trading Kreuzer out for NicNat, and using the cash to upgrade Veneables to Hogan?

    2

    13
  15. 29 trades left, considering trading Zerret for Coniglio,
I knows Zerret will come good but I will be burning a lot of cash and scoring in the mean time
    T/U: Trade Zerret for Coniglio
    T/D: Hold tight

  16. McGovern to go?

    TU: S. Savage,
    TD: L. Ryan,
    Comment: Hold fast

Already got 270k in the bank and hoping to save that/get some more for a Armitage -> Danger trade in a few weeks..
Also got a tough match up this coming weekend..
    Tough choices all round

  17. Definitely getting rid of jack graham this week
Narrowed in my trade option to
T/U ed richards which means finlayson, kelly and holman play m6-8 and murray, bonner, doedee play d4-6

t/d jack Henry which means one of banfield, brayshaw, garlett or barry play m8 and one of murray, doedee or finlayson ride the pine at d7.

I know henry looks to have better JS and scoring potential but bringing in richards gjves my overall team better balance

    2
  18. Anyone watch the Melbourne game? Dean Kent impressed in his first game back and was encouraged to see Hogan spend so much time up the field. Am seriously considering bringing Jesse in for my superstar forward Jacob Townsend (another awesome performance this week with 26pts). Have to trade Gaz as well, so have an aggregate fund of $1.03mn.

TU: do it (bringing Gibbs in for Gaz, have all other prems I want at the mo)
TD: do it but not Hogan, there are better options for F5

    Any recommendations gratefully received 🙂

  19. 2nd trade question. I havent used any trades yet this season so am viewing this as my correctional trade week.
I had two plans when I first selected my team that Im not sure are worth sticking with.
First plan was to leave some money in bank to bring in danger once his price drops (after the graham trade I have 350k)
Second plan was to start with lycett at R2, hope he averages around 80 and then upgrade him to ryder after the port bye.

Im not in a big rush to get danger in now as titch, dusty and fyfe have been pretty decent vc/c options and with ryder out for a while I dont know if its worth sticking with lycett when guys like grundy, martin, nicnat are tearing it up.

T/u stick with my original plans, danger is a must have
T/d pull the trigger lycett to a premo ruckmen

Comment: hold lycett but upgrade brayshaw to a premo mid under $566k

    1

    11
      1. Im not sold on ward finishing in top 10 mids. He hasn’t averaged 110 or above since 2014, the younger guys have overtaken him as the key ballwinners in gws midfield.

        4

        0
      1. Im leaning towards him atm, leaves me with 70k in bank still.
Only issue is bye structure, mcevoy and nicnat would fit my bye structure better but I think I can still manage to field a team in rd 13 if I go grundy.

  20. Will walters be a top 6 forward?
Does he continue to score so well In losses? Round 1 says not quite…

    TU- yes
    TD-no

    23

  21. A little worried about Billings due the amount spent and the points returned not really matching up, and there being better options so far this season (McLean, Petracca, Curnow, etc.). Am strongly considering trading for McLean, with the Dogs start to the season and his scoring has been very good.

TU: Go for it, will leave me with 28 trades
TD: Hold off, Billings will come good

    1

    18
  22. Am getting frustrated with David Armitage as I was expecting scores between 80-100 and he hasn’t hit that mark yet. Armitage is a very tricky one as I don’t have the funds to go to a premium and there aren’t any rookies that I don’t already have, so feel like its sticking with him and building funds to eventually go Armitage to Danger in a few weeks.

TU: Hold onto him, grab Danger when his price falls
TD: Find someone to bring in for Armitage now

    15

    0
  23. 28 trades left, $140k in the bank, no required trades to be made this week.

  24. Kelly, Zerrett and Billings sitting in my side. Bad premo choices this year. Considering sticking it out long term with the midfielders only 20k in the bank.

    TU: Hold All
    TD: Trade Billings for Walters

  25. DEF:
Laird, Simpson,Savage, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray (Naughton, Coffield

    Mid:
Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Tkelly, Holman, Banfield (Brayshaw, Garlett, Barry)

    RUK:
    Gawn, Nicnat (Olango)

    FWD:
Heeney, Walters, Mclean, Billings, Smith, Fisher ( ZG-L, Fritsch)

177k ITB, currently ranked 877th overall.

Only 2nd year playing so still learning players names etc (NRL fan). Thinking i don’t really have any glarring issues bar maybe Billings. I don’t like trading guns this early, especially when he pumped out 133 2 weeks ago.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    2

    1. 2nd year playing, don’t know many names, in the top 1000, stop playing and embarrassing us veterans! haha you’re flying 😀

      13

      0
    2. My thought is you should bask in the glory of your beauty of a SC side. Good amount of bank and no glaring issues means you can wait 2-3 weeks, then pick off a fallen premo (preferably in DEF or MID as you’re already pretty deep in the forward line).

With Billings, give him a bit more time as he’s really only had one bad score (unfortunately it was round 3 so he’ll drop in price a bit) and his team was mauled this week. He dropped a few garbage scores last year, quite a few of which were also in the early rounds (8 scores last year of 75 or less, 4 of which were in rounds 1-5).

    3. Mate you’ve done bloody well with a few of those picks paying off. Simpson, Savage, Dusty, Tich, Cripps, Fyfe, NicNat, Gawn, Heeney, Walter, Mclean, Smith – cracking start!

      1

      0
      1. actually nicnat and simpson where corrective trades. Ryder went down R1 and Hibberd wasn’t passing the mark for me so swapped to simpson.

But apart from that, all my mid pricers have hit the ground running basically. Been wrapped with Walters/Smith/mclean/Savage

    TU – Get Cogs now

  27. I am considering trading in Crowden of Freo

    Who do I trade out:
    t/up – Fogarty (Adel)
T/dwn – Ryan (WCE) if injured for multiple weeks

I don’t reckon Fogarty will get a game for a while.

There is the FURL factor to consider if I bring in Crowden.

    JS looks okay

    I am ranked 134 overall

    1. Congrats on the awesome start! I’m not that familiar with Adelaide’s list – who was Fogarty dropped for? If it looks like it’ll be 3+ weeks, you have to treat it as an injury.

However, if you still have a playing rookie on your forward bench, I’d try to hold Ryan as his break-even is still in the -80’s (and he’ll make 100k+ after 3 more games when he gets back, assuming he averages 75+).

      0

      0
      1. Thanks for the response DZ.
Fogarty was dropped for Tom Lynch so now Adelaide have the GF side forward line in place so barring an injury he looks on the outer for the moment.
I am waiting (like a lot of others I suspect) to see the prognosis on Ryans’s ankle injury.
If it is likely to be a month or more probably better > trade although I have Garlett & Fritsch as forward rookies switching b/w f6 & f7 as cover.

  28. No trades used yet sitting at about 5550 overall (better than normal for me), have a couple of so so performers at D3 (T.Langdon) and F5 (Roughy)also held Hibberd at D2 this week.In the past I would have looking to move them on but this year will ride it out and if they end up D6 and F6 so be it. Have all the pertinent rookies , just wondering whether to cash in Brayshaw and start building bank 70k at the moment.
Roughy started at F3 but has been jumped by Mc Lean and Smith, although their starting prices were similar.

    1. Hawthorn have had some pretty tough games so Roughy is probably ok going forward.

But I’m struggling to understand picking him in the first place. Age, downward scoring, little upside…

  29. Thoughts on sideways trading a rookie who is yet to be named?
Specifically L. Keeffe (FWD) -> J. Henry (FWD).

Was planning on holding out for a game but have no bench cover now L. Ryan out.

  30. Hi guys,
Sorry for the re-post but I will give you an idea of Lobb situation.
Who should I trade him to?
My non-rookie forwards are Heeney, Billings, Smith, Sicily & Lobb.
I only have 12K left over.
My other players that I can afford to trade are Uniacke & Brayshaw.

I was thinking that I could go:
    Brayshaw > Mitch Crowden &
Lobb > Mclean (I have 495K to play with)

But I feel stupid trading out Brayshaw rather than Uniacke just for the extra cash as I feel Brayshaw may still have the potential to pump out a few decent scores.

    T/U: Do the trades
    T/D: Hold

Or please comment other options! Thanks guys!

  31. Caleb Marchbank. Had a BE of 36 Going into Rd 3, Injured Ankle ended with 40.
BE going into Rd 4 is now 106

    TU – Keep Him

TD – Trade Him to Luke Ryan (Averaging 104 and BE 44)

    1. I’ve had him from the start and hes been looking solid.
Unfortunate about the ankle but unless he’s missing some weeks I’m 100% sticking with him.

Trading him out feels like a long term (and costly) solution to a short term problem.

    2. Considering he got injured at 19 minute mark of first quarter 40 points is most definitely on fire.

I am holding him, he’s supposed to only be 1 week at this stage.

If I hear otherwise I may reasses.

  32. My team as of right now:

    DEF: R. Laird, M. Hibberd, J. Lloyd, T. Doedee, J. Finlayson, S. Murray (A. Naughton, L. Murphy)

    MID: T. Mitchell, D. Martin, J. Kelly, N, Fyfe, P. Cripps, S. Coniglio, T. Kelly, N. Holman (A. Brayshaw, D. Fogarty, D. Barry)

    RUC: M. Gawn, T. Nankervis (T. Olango)

    FWD: I. Heeney, M. Walters, D. Smith, T. Taranto, L. Ryan, B. Fristch (J. Garlett, Z. Giles-Langdon)

    Remaining cap – $186k

This team has been doing pretty well, but the thing I’m tossing over is about my backup in the forward.
I have Langdon who’s injured for another 2-3 weeks and Fogarty not selected, as well as Ryan injuring his ankle. Not sure what is happening with him at the moment.
My forward line last year, kept on having people injured or rookies stopped being selected in their sides just before the bye rounds, and almost destroyed my season. I don’t want this happening again.

If all those three players aren’t playing this weekend, what option should I take

TU – Trade either Fogarty or Langdon out for someone else (No way I’m getting rid of Ryan)
    TD – Hold my trades

If I was to trade Fogarty/Langdon out, who would be a good choice for him? Keep in mind of my remaining cap too.

    1. So I have the same exact issue re injuries in the forward line. I’m currently considering moving Fogarty on for Crowden (Freo) or Higgins (Tiges).

Fogarty might get a game next week, he might not, but Crows have shown he doesn’t exactly fit into their plans omitting him. Ryan and Langdon however, at least we know Coast and GWS want to bring them back in when fit.

    2. Ryan looks like he is going to be a long term out. Langdon should be back in 2 or 3 weeks.

I’d be moving Brsyshaw on and moving Langdon to mid bench.

But seriously, you can’t sit indefinitely on Ryan, and you can’t carry Fogarty, Ryan, Langdon and Olango.

Ryan is the least likely of these to play assuming you are keeping Olango for permanent loophole duties. Fogarty can play at any time and is ready to go now.

If you are determined to keep Ryan, which seems silly to me, you should go Olango to English for cash reasons, and keep Ryan as your loophole option.

And then you still need to trade one of Fogarty or Langdon. Tbh Lsngdon could get his next game before Fogarty, such is Adelaide’s depth

  33. My thoughts of Rage trading Zach Merrett are dying down even though he looks like he has lost confidence after his concussion.
Considering he has already lost 85k and did not cost me any League wins i think i should ride it out now.

However , i would still like to run a Poll.

    T – U Trade Merrett to Coniglio

T – D Hold Early Premo Spud Merrett

    1. Yeah interesting the Poll as after having a chance and noticing a few other earlier polls about Merrett with one Hold 38 and Trade 18.

Thanks to those that voted , but i will go with my gut and save the Trade as i hate trading out premiums even underperforming ones and it is not as if you get Unlimited Trades.

  34. Got $364k which was for Mr Dangerfield, but not so sure about him with Fyfe, Dusty and Titch already..sadly got Zerrett but gonna hold. Cripps and Coniglio m5/6. So, do I use a semi fattened cow and bring in an m7 now such as Gibbs, Duckwood, Parker etc…or hold for further fattening….that trade would be A Brayshaw meaning Holman or T Kelly to bench. In top 4% despite cash in bank and keen to at least hold my spot for now.
Similarly can do the same thing up fwd with 4 keepers, and L Ryan likely out injured. Lucky to have finlayson (dm) and O’Connor (md) so have heaps of emergency loop options, and Orlango perm c loop.

    1. I’d spend big on a forward first tbh. McLean, Walters, Buddy.
Or even a premo defender like Laird on Simpson.

There’s no forward rookies who will punch out90+ per game the way Holman and Kelly are doing for you.

Have you got a dpp like Garlett to make the forward option possible, and still trade out Brayshaw?

  35. Mid: Titch, Oliver, J Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, O’Meara, T Kelly, Holman (Brayshaw, Banfield, D Barry)

$560k in the bank, 27 trades left.

Thinking of trading in Coniglio for Brayshaw, then trading up O’Meara for Danger in a couple of weeks (which I can do anyway), but worried about burning too many trades early.

    TU: Coniglio for Brayshaw
    TD: Save my trade

  36. The lobb experiment has been a failure (plus he may be out with a knee injury) so looking to move him out.

T/U: Hogan: had him in until last minute swap for Lobb before round 1. Looks good spending time in the mids.

T/D: Petracca: seems to be living up to the preseason hype

Comments: Wait a week or 2 for Billings to bottom out

    1. Ldu needs to go.

      Would you consider say Petracca/Hogan?

I’m seriously looking at both Petracca and Hogan if I am forced into trades.

Higan’s last two are 145 and 125, breakeven of -10

You could also look at Jack Martin who is punching out a nice 98 average..

  37. I have currently got three players who aren’t doing well- Merret, Kreuz, Billings? Im not sure what to do whether to hold or rage trade before they lower in value. Im planning to keep Merret. So it has to be between billings or Kreuz (before Kreuz drops in value)

TU- Kreuz to Grundy, stef martin, Nank etc
    TD- Billings t0 Walters, Mclean
Comment- Hold and pls give suggestions on what I can do

    1. Of the 3, Zerrett seems the worst to keep imho. Concussion can affect a player for months.

Kreuz was down a bit, but 86 iirc wasn’t too bad and last year and this year ruck scores have been all over the shop. See what other premiums like Goldy and Jacobs have pumped out.

Billings is within 10 points of what you paid for him which is far from crisis time.

        1. Cogs for sure if you don’t have him. One who is probably not on your radar is Lyons. He’s gone absolute beast mode the last 3 weeks, and Hall is woefully out of form.

Macrae is also averaging 130, and virtually no one is on him cos he lost dpp.

Cripps Parker Selwood should all be good long term options.

Then you have the forward mids, like Walters McLean and Petracca.

Up forward Hogan has just backed his 145 with a 125 and has a negative be

          1. Is it worth the trade tho becuase they’re both proven premiums? Ive got cogs petracca smith already but not sure whether they r worth the trade? Currently have 27 trades left so worth trade? If trade is worth, would Liam Ryan to bubble rookie and Billings to McLean or Walters, or Liam Ryan to bubble rookie and Merret to Lyons be better?

            0

            0
            1. Merrett has to go. Even though he has already lost you $80,000 unless you believe he can pump out 100+ in the next two games his price will plummet at least another minimum of $30,000.

I think his role has changed with the retirement of Watson and he is spending less time on the outside as the Bombers are getting beaten up at the stoppages – The worst in the league by far.

  38. I have 500k in bank, was going to offload Graham 276k and Sicily 402K and bring in McCrae 605K and McLean 493K. McCrae is shaping up as a top 8 mid and Mclean is a keeper in my book, so am replacing 2 stepping stones up to 2 keepers, Thoughts??

    4

    1. Definitely get rid of Graham. Will not generate any decent cash unless he pumps out a couple of 100’s in his next two games. $500,000 + Graham will get you any premium midfielder.

  39. Is josh kelly going to be as good as last year?? He only went under 90 once last year and had 4 scores between 90-100 the rest over 100, he averaged 114 last year.

This year Coniglio comes back and he has already nearly gone below 90 and his BE is 159. But he is still averaged 105 right now.

Wish i thought about this before the season started, I would have had someone else a little bit cheaper and saved a bit of $$. It definetly isnt worth a trade now but down the track i might have to upgrade him??

    1. Kelly will come good. He’s a jet.

I’m worried about Kreuz and Billings and am seriously thinking of trading in Grundy and Buddy whilst I can.
With all of their respective B/E’s the cost could be well over $100k.

      TU – Trade
      TD – Hold

      Cheers all.

  41. Hi guys. Currently about 800th, 29 trades left. Got all the kids I want and keeping Ryan as loophole. Is it worth trading Dow for crowden for danger fund (and opening m/f link). Thank you.

    1. Moggie.

Crowden may make way when Brad Hill is fit.

But who really knows what FURL will do.

Dow may be a slow burn but should come good.

Watch Higgins this week. he could be the answer to opening your DPP link.

  42. A slight change to what I was wanting to do this week. I was going to hold onto Ryan had he been only out for a couple of weeks, but it looks like it will be a fair bit longer than that with either bone or ligament damage. So with Langdon, Fogarty, as well as Brayshaw doing very average. I think two trades is the more appropriate choice, or else I’ll be having no backup in my forward if someone else gets pulled out of the side.

This is what I’m thinking of doing the moment. Keep in mind, I already have around 200k spare in my salary cap.

    OUT: Ryan, Brayshaw
    IN: J. Higgins, Hogan/Acres/Curnow

I know in a normal situation, I should be waiting another week before getting Higgins. But because of my situation now, I need to bring him in now, because there’s not too many better choices at the moment as a downgrade option. Crowden doesn’t interest me considering he’s scored 29 in his first game. Higgins looks a lot more consistent.

If anyone thinks I should be heading in another direction with my trades, let me know what you’d be doing?
