      1. Cheers needed that slap to the face, was a lowering fyfe and Lloyd that tempted me. Plus $224 in the bank. Looks like it can wait at least a week. Hopefully the bye rounds

  1. Darling. No words. Rage trading him to someone, but don’t know who. Any suggestions? 249k in bank.

    1. Yep, Darling definitely has to go Taka. What’s your fwd line looking like mate? I have pencilled in 4 must have fwds so far. Danger, Heeney, Boak and Kelly. After that, looking at someone like a Billings, but I have question marks over everyone apart from the 4 I listed. (A tag on Kelly concerns me a little, but he has only had the one bad game so far)

I would be trying to ensure you have all of those fwds in your team at some stage., but the sooner the better. Boak will be better value in a couple of weeks After his 90 and Kelly should drop a bit next week also.

Good luck with the decision mate.

      1. Thanks DR,

Currently got Danger, TK, Darling, Moore, Drew and Petruccelle. Should I bring in say a Heeney?

        19

        1
      2. I think Kelly’s low was only partially due to a tag as he was just coming off that quick turn-around after an ankle injury the game before. I’m bringing him in, and it’ll probably be this week.

  2. Ready to chop Menegola

    T/U – Heeney
    T/D – Kelly

Like the look of both. Both have high ceiling but also have the ability to go low

    1. It would be ideal if you could wait for another (potential) price drop from Kelly, but if it’s this week, I’d trade in Heeney. He is a must have fwd IMO.

  3. Traded in Stack and O’Brien for Schultz and Setterfield this week, so hopefully no trades for me. Parker to Baker looking very tempting though.

  4. B. Scott —> J. Ross

Gives me 170k in the bank, but think next week’s the week to upgrade one of Parker/Moore/Butters

    1. Not sure about his JS when scotch returns. I’d maybe wait a week for Hately or Hayes to bubble up. Didn’t watch GWS but Hayes was VERY composed.

    1. Can someone explain why this has so many thumbs down? I get it is a sideways trade. But it is bringing in an underpricedi FWD keeper vs a mid who has reached his potential and will be traded out at some point.

TPC I’m saying go for it mate, especially if you have plenty of trades left. And particularly if through a dpp swing it allows you to field a better on field rookie.

      1. A. Kelly has a high BE so he will probably come down in price a little this week.

        B. Smith has only really had 1 bad score, take that out and he is averaging high 90’s, which is basically keeper territory for DEF.

        C. Smith’s scores are on the improve and he has a BE of 15 so will make more money.

I would wait a week and milk the extra $$$ out of Smith 1st then get kelly next week

        0

        6
      2. That’s it @Gassassination. Brad Crouch was never going to be a keeper in the MID. I see T Kelly has a FWD keeper. Bring him into the MID with a DPP swing with Setterfield (F7)

        0

        0
      1. I’ve already got them both.

If I didn’t, I would consider it, as long as it wasn’t going to lose me any money

        0

        8
      2. I have Hore but not Stack. While I wouldn’t normally recommend it, they are both more than capable of making another $150k+.
Why not? You’ve already missed out on over $75k on each player. I think there will be better MID options next week (eg Hayes and Hately).
Why you could? If either (Hore more likely) is also going to improve your onfield scoring each week, as well as make you $150k, then it might be a good move. With only Lachie Young (not so impressive) on the horizon DEF-wise, I can understand if you want to do it. Just recognise the fact that it could backfire. JS if his form drops and/or injury, but these are risks we all take.
I’d leave Stack I’m afraid. Not really good enough to field and you’ve missed a fair % of his growth.
        Good luck whatever you decide.

        11

        1
    1. Parker needs to go i think, as struggling just to meet BE

Collins & Scott still have great JS – should make more money yet (especially Scott)

Don’t own Burgess so won’t comment on him

      1

      0
        1. Coach pumped up his defensive pressure. And he doesn’t usually pump up individuals. I think he’s got another week at the least if that’s the concern. Game style not really favouring his scoring.

          4

          0
      1. I probably order them as Walters > Daniel > Billings.
I’m tossing up between Walters or Daniel, personally.

        1

    1. I like the Walters trade a lot if you have T Kelly already , I’m thinking same this week with Coniglio in sights next week.

      1

      0
        1. I’m not making an upgrade this week because I’m a fraction short on the ones I want. Rather than compromising for a ‘maybe’, I’m gonna wait a week to get one of the ones I want.

Walters is not one of the ones I want. But each to their own. Good luck whatever you decide!

          4

          1
    2. Feel you may have missed a lot of what is good (points) about Walters. And don’t forget Connor Blakely is likely only a week or two away which MAY mean less mid-time going forward.

      5

      1
      1. Walters has been putting up good numbers but I’m ‘twice bitten, thrice shy’ (I’m a slow learner) with him – whenever I bring him in, he seems to get injured or drop off. I’m looking at TK (who you already have) and Caleb Daniel (need to check if it works with the byes though).

  5. Upgrading Cousins to a premo mid

TU: Oliver while he’s cheaper but not quite firing
TD: Merret. More exy but firing.

    Comment: hold on cousins

  6. I think it is a no trade week for me.
I’ve missed the boat on Stack and am just not convinced of Ross’s JS.
I read on the site in another comment that we may have to continually turn over our M9-M11 to raise funds for upgrades as the forward/back rookies are not really there this year (at least not yet). I agree.
Hately & Hayes look more appetizing next week and lets also remember that the likes of Scott, Gibbons and Atkins are still making $’s

    12

    1. Agreed on Stack and Ross.
Am looking at Baker FWD. Are there any Tigers out there with an opinion on his JS and role?!?

      3

      0
      1. He seems to have gone past Butler in the small forward role. Suspect a few will be managed this week on the back of a 4 day break. Stack and Rioli were looking pretty sore in the dressing room and wouldn’t surprise to seem them miss the next game. Maybe Houli’s old man hamstrings will need a rest too. Baker should be ok short term but wait for teams later tonight. On current form he shouldn’t be dropped.

      1. it means i would now have 6 premos in round 13 and 14, instead of 5 in round 13 and 7 in round 14.

  8. 29/30.

Checking B.E’s now. Unless any cows need to sacrificed, I won’t be trading again this week. Only used the one trade to bring in ROB, very happy with that trade.

    Will persist with Darling…

    9

    12
    1. Go hard Anthony, it is a long season, and it’s probably risky, but going hard early and getting to full premo is what the past winners have all done

      2

    1. Almost certainly McKenzie or White comes in for Geary, maybe Hind. I don’t think Joyce comes in without an injury to Brown.

      6

      1. Agree. White had a timely BOG performance in the VFL, but as a Saint would rather see McKenzie back asap.

    1. AFL website article suggesting he might get dropped this week.

Verdict: It’s time to play Trengove and Lipinski. Dunkley and Williams omitted and then a decision to be made on the experienced ex-Hawks Duryea and Suckling. Hard to see last week’s debutant Lachie Young being picked ahead of either of them. – Paul Bastin

      1

      1
  9. A bit long-winded but, what would you do in my situation? Have 28 trades left. Playing purely for league glory. I don’t want to trade out any of my MID rookies (Constable, Butters, Atkins, Gibbons, Scott) just yet, as they will still generate cash. I’d consider Scott to Hately next week though.

My FWD line is –Danger, Heeney, Dunkley, Worpel, Darling, Drew– [Setterfield, Bines (DPPed to trade in R.O’Brien)]. I want to rage trade Darling to T.Kelly, but only have $92K. I could achieve this by trading out Setterfield for Baker. My concerns are: Baker’s JS and is it really worth 2 essentially sideways trades?

TU: Out: Darling + Setterfield > In: T.Kelly + Baker
TD: Save 2 trades, wait for Setterfield to increase in price, and hope Darling can get into form and score higher than 9 next week. Get T.Kelly at a later stage.

    32

    3
    1. If Butters scores his projected 65 this week, his BE will be 13 the week after. Still some money to be made.
And Collins BE is only 43. T. Kelly’s BE is 117.

You could make the exact same trade next week and save some cash. Also gives you another week to look at Hately.

      15

      0
      1. Could also be 50+ points worse off by waiting. See how you’re main cash league game is looking after the first 2 games

        1

        0
  10. Parker may go up a bit and Kelly may go down a bit but not much in each case. Is now, not next week, the time to do that trade, I have the cash but may lose my league match regardless. (could trade Collins for Kelly but he has better JS)
    TU yes do it now.
    TD hold a week

    15

    3
  11. Which is more worth

TU: LDU to d Shiel – 1 trade
TD: Moore to Hurn – 1 trade

Comment if you think more worth to trade down Scott Ross and bring in Merret – 2 trades

    Thanks

    5

    17
  12. Should either of Atkins or C. Wagner be traded out for Ross?

    TU: Yes
TD: No, still some money to be made in them before downgrading

    1

    14
  13. What’s Lachlan Young like? Know absolutely nothing about his JS/scoring but can go Parker-Daniel if I trade Clark-Young.

    TU – worth it
    TD – not worth it

  14. Couple of queries this week guys.

Has Bailey Scott got much price growth left? His JS seems flakey, thinking of going to Ross.

I know he was rested this week but Devon Smith has not been the F3 I was expecting him to be. Thinking of moving him to Billings or Walters? Good idea or let Smith have a few more weeks?

Lastly, Nank has been disappointing, I already have Gawn, can’t afford Grundy. What are peoples thoughts on McEvoy?

Would be interested in peoples thoughts on the above trades.

    Cheers guys.

    1

    3
    1. How many trades have you used mate?!
Controversial, but i think I’d go Nank to O’Brien. Smith’s role has changed but could have a big Anzac Day having been rested. Depends on trades available, but think to Billings or Walters is sideways at best.

      6

      0
      1. Hey Allsaints,

I’ve used 3 trades so far, so no issue there.

I’ve actually already got O’Brien, otherwise I would be all over that move, maybe it is as simple as putting Nank on the bench for a few weeks, in saying that he is bleeding cash.

I hear what you’re saying with Smith. Walters and Billings have hurt me in the past, hopefully it’s a case of a slow start for Smith.

        1

        0
  15. Think I’ll just be going Butters to Baker this week and then Parker and Scott to Hately/Hayes and a premo next week.

    T/U – Yeah good shout
    T/D – Nah mate that’s silly

    5

    8
  16. I’m leaning towards not trading this week – I already have Stack/ROB and $145K banked.

Only rookie issues are Parker and Burgess – I can trade either of them into a Ross via a couple of switches (that would kill off my DEF/MID DPP ability) and parlay Collins into a Billings via Darcy Moore DPP.

However, this sounds like a convoluted mess and I’d rather keep Moore in my FWD line since FWD rookies suck eggs.

TU: Take a deep breath and hold steady
    TD: Go for the trade(s)

    Comments welcome.

    8

    1
  17. Could it be time to bank on Collins and Parker. Would get in a 102.4k DEF and either Baker or Ross. Frees up in the range of 310-360k to use in future.

    T/U – Yes
    T/D – No

    Cheers

    6
    1. I’d hold Collins and consider Parker > Baker if we can establish that he has decent JS and a half decent SC role.

      5

  18. Looking to either hold or make only a single trade this week with 25 trades remaining.

    Burgess to Rotham

    TU Yes
    TD No

    Any comments on Rotham’s js?

Alternatively I can move Moore back (DPP) and bring in Baker for Burgess. Thoughts?

    7
  19. What are Cousins owners doing with him this week? Looked pretty poor, needed 7 tackles and a freak goal to get him to 45. 6 disposals for the game is very worrying…

    2

    1
  20. TU: double downgrade Parker & Clark this week
TD: downgrade Clark & upgrade Butters (early I know) to Rockliff

    9

    4
  21. OK, so we reckon not Henderson, then who…….??????
I can use DPP and afford Lloyd, Whitfield and Hurn or,
    DPP in Boak or Worpal.
Defence are playing each other and Geelong, whereas Fwds are against North and Carlton.
Everyone’s thoughts have gone cold on Ross, so without putting the moz on players and speaking highly of them, WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO WITH SHEEDS????????

    Thoughts…..pretty please.

    1

    2
  22. Got Alex Sexton as a gamble and it didnt really pay off so…

TU – Sexton and Moore for Walters and Baker
TD – Sexton and Clark for Walters and Rotham

    9

    1
  23. Collins & Burgess out

    Worpel & rookie in

    TU go for it!

TD better forward upgrades. Wait till Collins hits full price before trading …

    Thanks

    12
      1. Hi allsaints, are you bringing in baker for point production or cash generation too? Cos if we go off the theory a trade is worth 150k, we’ll break around even cash wise on that trade? I’m in exactly the same position, only trade I’m thinking about this week. Thus needing some help

  24. Advice please.

I have 24 trades left, do I just hold on or it worth trading benched rookies for benched rookies who are going to make me cash? Eg Parker to Baker and/or Burgess to Rotham (assuming he plays that is)?

I could go Burgess to Baker but means Baker is on field and my backline has Scrimshaw and Ridley on the bench (with Hore and Moore on field.

    Thoughts?

    1

    1
    1. Most people hold on to their rookies for far too long. If you have a potential downgrade who looks like they can make good money (on top of whatever funds they free up in the immediate term), then go for it.

I’m curious, though… those six trades you’ve already used – were they all sideways/correctives, or were they productive ones (e.g. early upgrades)? Because if you’re down to 24 and haven’t upgraded anybody yet, then that’s going to hurt down the track. On the other hand, if you’ve now got more premiums than what you started with, then you’ve got nothing to worry about.

      4

      2
      1. Thanks Salamander.

My 6 trades have been a mix bag-I dropped Heeney and Mills in round 3 (dumb ass move on Heeney) and brought in Kelly and Rich. Two trades have been to fix rookies (Balta for Parker in round2) and two were to bring in Lloyd (this was ugly as I dropped Rocky then traded him back in).

I think I’ll go with my option 2 above and just use one trade this week. Baker will make me money vs keeping Burgess and I’ll hang onto Parker for another week.

        Thanks for the feedback mate

  25. Thumb UP: Rozee to T Kelly this week (1 trade) which leaves 2.2k in the bank

Thumb DOWN: Wait until next week and potentially downgrade a mid rookie to Hately and have more cash to upgrade Rozee to a Lloyd

    2

    12
  26. Who to trade in for Darling?
worried Kelly might get tagged by Hutchings and still has BE of 117
Worpel is only 439k and BE of 69
    TU: Kelly
    TD: Worpel

    16

    3
  27. What to do with Burgess?
Can’t swing him forward so would need trade in a def rookie.
    Not confident with Rotham’s JS

    TU: hold
    TD: jump on Hore late

    Parker or burgess to baker.

    Tu trade burgess
    Td trade Parker

  29. I need help supercoach brothers.

Got 26 trades left and I’m tempted to pull the trigger on Burgess > Baker (once teams come out of course), the bummer is it only makes 10k and burns a trade but Baker will make alot of cash while burgess won’t.

TU: Do it, Do it now!!
    TD: hold you fool!

  30. Hi guys,
Have Milera, was happy with what he was doing, and wanted to hold on for possible D5/6 at seasons end. 4-6 weeks too long to hold on to him. Can you let me know what you think of:
    Out – Milera and Butters
    In – J Lloyd and J Hately
    Cheers.

  31. Current Fwd lineup Danger, Heeney, TKelly, Drew, Petruccelle, Parker. (Burgess, Bines via O’brien)

    t/u Parker > Baker
    t/d Burgess > Baker

  32. Saving my trades this round but if Tuohy comes in for the Cats do we trade Clark or hold him on our bench?

IMO, I think Clark will be omitted for Tuohy which means we would have to trade him maybe into a Young or someone else.

    TU – Yes Trade
TD – See how he goes with Tuohy

    1. For me J Crisp $464k at 7% ownership could be worth a look.

He has always been a slow started but seemed to hit his straps last week. One of the top defenders last year. He is nearly $60k cheaper than his starting price.

If you really want to take a risk, Zac Jones $472k 0.7% ownership.

He has a 3 round average of 97, and seems to have a bigger role with McVeigh out for a while. Horse has been putting him in the midfield a bit, and could be a sneaky to keep up this average and justify the Keeper tag.

Personally I would go Crisp as The Pies are sure to win more games. He has also proven he can score enough to finish as a top defender.

  35. As I’ve posted above, looking to trade out Rozee for Tim Kelly. Will fall a few thousand short, so a downgrade has to happen for this.

The only rookie I have whose time has come to be downgraded is Parker. Can gain about $50,000 by trading to Baker. Or, trade down to Bines and gain around $110,000. This would then allow me to trade out O’Brien to a Forward later in the season, and send Bines up to R3 then.

Should I go for Bines, or am I overthinking it and just trade in Baker.

TU: Rozee/Parker to T.Kelly/Bines. Net Loss of $106,000
TD: Rozee/Parker to T.Kelly/Baker. Net Loss of $46,300

  38. I’m considering a double downgrade this week to bank cash for Fyfe/Crisp/Kelly next week, or simply going 1 up/1 down.

TU: Clark & Parker –> Ross & Baker (300K in Bank)
TD: Collins & Parker –> Crisp & Baker (15K left)

  39. Rozee to Caleb Daniel? Happy with my other rookies who I think have money to get, but Rozee has an average of 77, BE of 74 and his average includes the game were he scored 5 goals and 116 points.

  41. I’ve got Parker and Butters, both Breakevens getting pretty high.
So wondering if I should trade Ross in for Butters and Parker in for Worpel?
    If not, any other suggestions

    1

    4
    1. Keep Butters if you can. If he plays a half decent game this weekend, his BE will drop back down to the teens next week and he’ll start making cash again.
It’s probably time for Parker to go though, look at Baker.

      2

      0
  42. I’ve already made one trade (Parker to Barker), currently pondering whether I should make one other trade: Burgess to Lockhart (Lockhart just got called back into the side, means he’ll play his third game).

I’ve seen that a few people would rather trade Burgess out for Baker, rather than Parker. What makes that difficult for me (if I made that trade instead) is that both my defence and forward are kinda under performing, with some rookies not exactly helping. I only have really 2 premos playing in both areas (Dunkley and Williams aren’t playing the best). Plus the only way I could’ve made that trade is if I swapped Moore and Burgess, putting Burgess into my forward line and then trade him out. But then my forward line would look like this: Dangerfield, Heeney, Dunkley, Drew, Baker, Parker (Setterfield, Bines). Not a very good forward line. But it would make my defence look a tad more stronger: Lloyd, Crisp, Williams, Moore, Duursma, Hore (Collins, Clark) – Yes I’d have those two on my bench based on their consistency

I’m thinking if I made the move to go Burgess to Lockhart, it would give me about an extra $70k ($170k spare in total, about $100k right now with the Parker to Baker trade alone). Which then gives me and opportunity next week to downgrade either Scott or Atkins for Hately (if he continues to hold form and JS), which would give me another $50-100k, and I can upgrade someone like Collins/Clark to Hurn or Whitfield (if I have enough money)

So what do you all think of the Burgess to Lockhart trade (with Lockhart now back in the Demons side)?

TU: Go nuts, give you a good opportunity to bring in a premo next week!
TD: Keep Burgess for one more week, just stick with the Parker to Baker trade.

Or if there’s another trade solution you’d think would help me out, let me know

  43. Started season off really well but one bad week and one mediocre week have me worried about being left behind re: overall.

Figure it’s time to be aggressive then and looking at Clark-Lockhart and Parker-Daniel. However I still have Balta (FWD) and Burgess (DEF) stinking up my team, albeit on bench.

TU – go with the above trade and bring another premo FWD in
TD – deal with your deadwood first (Balta/Burgess) and bring in Baker

  44. Thinking Collins to Baker via DPP
T/U – Bold move, do it
    T/D – Hold the Trade
    Currently have 26 trades

  45. My pod nank has me shaking my head. Don’t think I can hold after the annoying week I’ve had. So I’m thinking either;

    T/U
    Collins > Lockhart
    Nank > Gawn

    T/D
    Nank > ROB
    Collins > Hurn

  46. Okay coaches I need some advice, i’m really stuck on what to do this week.

I have Parker and Burgess that I feel need to be moved along as they aren’t gunna make much more cash.

But on the other hand I also feel like I need to start upgrading and getting a few more premiums into my team otherwise I’m gunna get left behind in the rankings.

At this stage I have only used 1 trade which was Butters to Stack last week.

So I guess my question is what is the bigger priority?

TU – [DOWNGRADE] Get rid of Burgess and/or Parker now before they start to decrease in value and get some money in the bank for next week.

TD – [UPGRADE] Time to bring in another premium to get things going, use 2 trades and downgrade upgrade this week. But to do this i will probs have to trade out collins to afford the premium i want.

COMMENT – Or please comment any advice/options.

    Thanks in advance!

  48. Upgrade onfield rookies. Try to aim for f5-6 or d5/6 guys. Get higher priced guys at byes.
For example I plan on crisp and Kelly types now for underwhelming rookies.
Then hurn and boak types at byes when they are hopefully down a bit and decent rookies are maxed.
    Well it’s my plan anyway.

  49. Out: Collins, Clark

    In: Whitfield/Lloyd, Lockhart

Is it worth grabbing the defenders who seem a cut above for a premium?

  50. Need to trade out Sexton

TU – Sexton and Williams for Shannon Hurn and Baker
TD – Sexton and Moore for Walters/Kelly and Baker

Please Comment if there are other options.
